Sharing albums thru photo stream

When someone else shares an album thru photo stream with me, does it take up my icloud stroage space or just theirs?

Neither.  Photo stream does not use anyone's personal iCloud storage, it only uses some of the free space on your device.

  • HT1688 I've created a sharing album on Photo Stream. I've entered my husbands icloud email address so that I can share it with him but he is not receiving the invitations. Can you please let me know if I am doing something wrong?

I've created an album on Photo Stream and I've added my husbands icloud email address (subscribers) as well as mine (just to test it out) and invitations say that they have been sent but no emails are generated or received. I have checked my emails spam folder just in case but nothing has been received. Please help!

This does not answer my question. I'm doing everything correctly but no email is generating that asks the "subscriber" to be invited to see my album.

  • Question on sharing photos thru photo stream

Hello, guys. I love doing photography and have many friends who I want to share photos with. I use aperture mostly to do processing and photo orgnization. I know how to share photos with other people who have apple ids thru photo stream. But I have friends who do not have apple ids. Is it possible to open my shared photos to public, so everyone can view it? I could do it with mobileme and it was great in terms of sharing. Does photo stream in icloud have the similar feature? Thank you!

    I quote:
'Sharing a photo stream is an easy way to keep the important people in your life up to date with your latest photos. Invitees, who must have an iCloud account to join the photo stream, can view, “like,” and comment on your photos from any device set up with Photo Stream. Those invitees without an iCloud account are sent a link to a webpage to view the shared photos; however, they cannot comment on the photos.'
    (my emphasis); and from here:
'Invitees who don’t have iCloud accounts can view a shared photo stream only if you enable the Public Website option in your shared photo stream settings.'
As another option, iCloud provides a simple gallery in the form of 'Photo Journal' - uploading of photos from iPhoto to web pages hosted on iCloud, but only from iOS devices; and the photos are compressed to a size adequate for online viewing but are not available in full resolution as with the old MobileMe Gallery. Apple have provided a sample album here.

  • My photo album " my photo stream" is no longer on my iPad. How can I get it back?

My album "my photo stream" isn't on my iPad. Where did it go. I've checked iCloud settings & photo settings. I have rebooted my iPad as well. All updates are complete.

    Hello Phildebeldorado,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are missing the My Photo Stream album on your iPad, then you may have the iCloud Photo Library beta enabled.  When you enable this option, it removes the Camera Roll and My Photo Stream albums from your device.

  • After updating with the IOS8 my photos are no longer in an album or photo stream.  Any idea how to correct this issue.  Hate this new feature.

When I updated my iphone and ipad with the new update IOS 8 my photos are no longer in an album or photo stream.  They are in different files with all the dates that they were taken.  I hate this feature.  Is there any way I can get the photo stream and album back.  Why do they make these changes when they just undo all the good things.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance for anyone that can help me.  It is impossible to reach apple when your device is an older model.

    Hey there Trishna51,
It sounds like you are seeing your photos grouped together by date, rather than the view you are used to seeing. From what you are describing, it seems like you are seeing either the Moments, or Collections view in the photos app. You can switch to the Camera Roll view in Albums located at the bottom of the Photos window:

  • Why are photos I deleted from Camera Roll re-appearing in CR when I put them into Albums from Photo Stream?

Last night I deleted some photos from my Camera Roll (on iPhone 3GS) using cable connection to my PC. I then went to Photo Stream (the photos were, correctly, still in there) and put some of them in Albums in the Photos app. Some, but not all, have now re-appeared in Camera Roll - and, very unhelpfully, not in the order they were taken. I don't want these photos in Camera Roll but can vaguely accept and understand if the app HAS to copy the Photo Stream photos to Camera Roll if you put them in Albums and they are not in Camera Roll already but then why are there 2 photos (in different Albums) that this is not happening for?
    Any ideas/advice?

    Thanks for your comments.
I connected the iPhone to my PC with the USB sync cable (I usually sync by Wifi) and opened the iPhone as a Windows window. Went to the relevant DCIM folder for the Camera Roll and Deleted them there. I checked on the iPhone before and after sycning that they had been deleted from Camera Roll - and they had. I only have one Camera Roll album (no chance of another album being synced).
They remained deleted from my Camera Roll until I put the copies of the photos held in the Photo Stream album (which I purposely did not delete them from) into an album. They then appeared in my Camera Roll again. Now, if I delete them from Camera Roll again (either direct from iPhone Photo app or via USB cable) they still reappear in my Camera Roll if I put them in an album from Photo Stream. I can see it happen before my eyes as each one appears after I have selected the photos from Photo Stream, used Share to put them in an album and then go to Camera Roll - they pop up one at a time.
It would make sense to some extent except that there are two photos (in two separate albums to the ones that are reappearing) that have definitely been deleted from the Camera Roll, have been put in their respective albums from Photo Stream but are not reappearing in Camera Roll. And, as far as I know, I did exactly the same things with them. I don't want to have the photos back in my Camera Roll but I cannot find any explanation as to why one set is appearing back in Camera Roll and these two are not.

  • Can't add photos to a shared album in Photos

I created a shared album in Photos with 59 photos. Only 15 were uploaded to the album and when I try to add the others, nothing happens. I highlight them, click "add" and.... nothing.

If it's a new Library then File -> Import would be the way to get things into it.

  • HT201317 Photos, albums and photo stream

I have trouble grasping the differences between all of these  : Album, Photo Stream, Copies for IPod, camera Roll, and photo library. Where can I find an explanation of what does what? Many photos seem to be there more than once and some can be deleted but not others....

From various sources (doing a google search)
You are having a photo stream folder in your Album because you have enable Photo Stream in iCloud. By default, after you make a picture it will of course be save in your camera roll folder, then because photo stream is enable in iCloud which is also active on your iPhone, your pictures will be send to the iCloud server, and iCloud have the responsibility to share those pictures with all your iDevices which are sharing the same iCloud account with your iPhone, iCloud will find that your iPhone is sharing that iCloud and so will share those new pictures in the iCloud with your iPhone to including other iDevices which sharing your iCloud account. Thus you will see that those pictures already present in your camera roll are appearing in the Photo stream folder.
You will not be able to delete those pictures, it will auto delete from the iCloud after a period of time.
If you do not want to see the photo stream there anymore, then just turn off Photo stream in iCloud and it will go away.
Photo library is the collection of all photos in iPhoto and an album is what you can create to store some of the photos in a library, like a folder stores files.

I have created photo albums on iOs5 with selected pictures from photos I imported from my SD card while traveling. Will the photos, photo stream and albums remain intact on my iPad when I sync them to my iMac?

  • TS3989 transferring photos from iPhoto album to photo stream

I am using Mac OS lion version 10.7.5 and iphoto version '11 9.4.3 (720.91).  I have an existing album of photos that I would like to transfer to photostream so that I can share those photos with friends and family.  I "select all" for the photos in the album and then click on share with photostream, but none of the photos are appearing in photostream.  Any tips on how I can make this process happen and share these photos?

For Shared Photo Streams you need to be running 120.8.2 or later.  With 10.7.5 all you can use is Photo Streams between your own Mac devices, i.e. Macs and mobile devices.

  • How can I put old albums into Photo Stream?

It used to be so easy to synch photos to my various devices: iPod touch, iPhone, iPad from my computer using iTunes.  I could select the albums I wanted on each device, and there they were!  But, iTunes now tells me that it no longer synchs photos.  When I go to iPhoto and try to put old photos in the Photo Stream, it takes forever, and the photos in an album are all scrambled.  It's like starting over.  There has got to be an easier way -- what is it?

Web Galleries published in iPhoto are in the order that the web gallery albums are in iPhoto - if you drag a web gallery into a different position and sync the web gallery matches the order
I do not know how iWeb handles the order -- try web galleries and see how they work for you

  • Delete family sharing calendar and photo stream

My family already has our own family calendars and photo streams. How can we delete the ones family sharing created?

Unfortunately you cannot share your photostream photos as you would like between different accounts, nor can you share iWork documents without emailing them to each other.
Whether this will change I have no idea, but if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance iCloud you can send Apple your feedback here.
As for other types of documents that will work with document and data syncing, that is already possible, Apple have provided the mechanism for other developers to make their applications work with iCloud. A few developers have already enabled their applications to work this way.

  • Why did deleted photos reappear on iPhone but I can't delete them now? They are not in my albums or photos stream.  I do not use a laptop either. After a software upgrade they suddenly reappeared.

I have an iPhone and iPad & use the cloud. I do not use a Mac or laptop.
Several months ago I deleted a bunch of photos off both devices.   After a software update on my iPhone, several of those photos reappeared.  Since the update, there is a new way to look at photos by date and the appear there and only there on my iPhone only.   They do not show up under the camera or photo stream.  There is no option to be delete them from the phone.
I didn't do the software update on my iPad and they are on on that device, only the iPhone.   I went to the apple store but they couldn't figure it out either.
Please help!  My new boyfriend is going crazy about these old beau photos.
