Sharing all photoshop folders etc between 2 computers

At present I have Photoshop Elements 6 on my desktop, which has Windows XP.
I have bought a laptop with Windows 7 and wish to share all my folders(tagged etc)
in order to be able to edit them when away from home. Is this possible and easy to do.

There's no easy way to do this in Elements 6.
In Elements 8, there's a new feature called Multi-Machine Sync. It will let you backup and synchronize your photos with Photoshop.com. If you connect two or more machines to the same photoshop.com account, they will all be kept in sync.
Connecting PSE8 to a Photoshop.com account is a membership service. If you have less than 2GB of photos it's free. If you have between 2 and 20GB it's an annual $49. There are plans that go above 20GB as well.
The service is only available int he US though.
You can create a membership account from the PSE Welcome Screen by creating an AdobeID.

Transfering photos with titles, comments, etc between computers

I have a MacBook and an iMac. The iMac is my primary computer and has the larger hard drive. I store all my pictures on the iMac. When I am on the road, I like to update my photos by adding titles, comments, and keywords.
Is there a way I can take a specific album or set of pictures (not the whole library), export them to include all titles, keywords, comments, etc to my MacBook. Import them in iPhoto on my MB and then when I am done, export those pictures back to my iMac, preserving all the new keywords, comments, titles that I added?
I have read here that there are some people suggesting that people make a CD/DVD of the images by exporting to CD which is to include the XML data of the images. But I do not wish to do this, as I am going to be transfering these pictures frequently.

No, connect the two computers so that you can access both from whichever one you want as the primary. You can use a firewire cable and put one in the Target Mode. Then launch iPLM and add both libraries to its list of available libraries. Then you can do the moving between the libraries. This is the only application that can do the merge of copy of files between libraries and keep the metadata, etc. iPhoto Buddy only lets you manage, i.e. move between, multiple libraries.

Transfer photos, keyword, etc between computers

Just took a trip to India and edited photos nightly on our MacBook Air -- result is 1000 or so photos with keywords, descriptive words, editing. We keep 2 desktop Macs and I want to move these photos to them with all the editing and added information intact. My preference is to merge them into the existing photo libraries on the desktop Macs, although a separate library for the India photos would be acceptable. I tried a normal export/import and the pictures moved but not the event names or the keywords. Suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks -- I will try that shortly. A wrinkle that I neglected to mention is that the library on the MacBook Air has photos previous to the India trip that will be duplicates of some on the other computers' libraries (and in some cases they're early versions of photos that have been edited on the desktops). Is there a way to transfer less than the full library? Thanks.

Transferring preferences, etc, between computers?

I'm uninstalling my Creative Suite 4 from one PC (Windows XP Pro) and reinstalling it on another PC (Windows 7). Is there a way to move all of my preferences (like my own keyboard shortcuts), etc., to my new computer? Thanks for your input.

Alec, as far as I know shorcut sets are not saved as part of a workspace, but they are saved in a folder alongside in the same directory.
I think the path information for Graphic Squirrel may be easier to understand in Replace Your Preferences. There is no "roaming data folder" in XP (though the path listed in the KB article is otherwise correct).
There's not much point in moving clipboard scrap, or the other items in the C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version [#]\en_US\Caches folder other than the InDesign Saved Data file itself (and even that one is questionable) when moving to a new machine. The rest really aren't "preference" items and will get rebuilt when ID is launched.

Sharing resources between computers

Here is the situation...
I used to have 2 computers connected to the same router (WRT55AG) which was used as an Internet Access point. All the ressources on each computer could be shared (Printers, folders, etc.) and everything worked fine.
I just bought a second router (WRT54G) that is now the Internet AccessPoint while my old WRT55AG is now connected to the new WRT54G. I have 1 computer connected to each of them. I cannot share the ressources anymore. I followed exactly the procedures high-lighted on this WEBsitewithout success.
Can someone point me to the procedure that would allow me to share these ressources? Since the WRT54AG have a local IP adress of 192.168.2.1 with the Internet Connection Type set to Automatic Configuration - DHCP, is that the reason why I can't share the ressources?

How do I share my bandwith so I can use my PS3 online and use my personal laptop computer through the same router, but not causing lag in either the computer or PS3 gaming. I know there is a way to do this and have them both work fine without paying for extra bandwith but I am unsure how to do this? Help Anyone?! Thanks

Similar problem just happened to me with the Creative Cloud Update 1.7.1.418—slightly different so I thought I'd share. I have multiple Adobe Creative Cloud programs installed on my computer, all working just fine. I updated the Cloud App to the latest version and then it shows me that I have only one program installed! All my previously installed programs (Photoshop and the like) still work but show as "install" instead of "Up to date". Initially I thought I'd have to re-install the Cloud app or recreate the OPM data base but then I noticed that some of the Cloud app preferences (Apps > Settings > App Language) were different to what I had set previously. I use English (International) language, the update had reverted the app back to English (North American). I flicked back to my previous language and bam, all my apps now show as being installed correctly.

Sharing the Home folder & all sub folders

I've had my mac networked with a couple of Windows PCs for a long time. Now I've bought another mac & have networked them together. So I'm not new to networking, but am new to networking 2 macs together.
With the PCs I could access the mac Home folder & copy files from any of the sub folders (Documents, Pictures etc.) to the PCs. And vice versa, from the mac drag files & folders from within the Home folder to the PCs to copy them over.
Now as I understand it networking between macs you only share files between the Public folder & Drop Box folder with the Public folder. Is that correct?
If so can I share the whole Home folders on both macs so that from 1 mac I can mount the other mac's Home folder, send files & folders to the other Mac & also copy files over from the other macs Home folder?
I'm guessing this is possible. I went to 'Get Info' on the Home folder & it looks like if I set permissions so they are as follows:
Owner: 'my name'
Access: Read & Write
Group: admin or 'my name'
Access: Read & Write
Others: Read & Write
Then clicking on 'Apply to enclosed items' it should work as I want? Or Shouldn't I be messing with the permissions? If not is there another way for me to achieve what I want to do?

Sorry, I should have said that this is how I've been trying to do it.
I can mount both Home folders on both computers & browse them. But when I try to copy files from 1 location to the other I get error messages saying:
'The operation cannot be completed because you do no have sufficient priveliges for the some of the items'.
Having said that some items will copy over even after receiving the priveliges message. But it's very annoying having it pop up every time.

All fonts NOT loading in Photoshop, Flash, etc.

I have installed a mass amount of fonts (around 2000) on this computere and for some reason Photoshop and Flash only read up to the end of letter G. It doesn't even list standard fonts anymore if their names start after the letter G. I have tried many things including clearing my font cache, removing all Photoshop files and reinstalling it, etc and nothing seems to be working. Does anybody have any ideas?

For a specialized question like this it is best to start a new topic, rather than tag onto something discussing the problems of large numbers of fonts in Adobe apps.
OS X comes with the font Devanagari MT, which should also work for Sanskrit, although there are some special conjuncts it probably cannot do. No other font can do them either, however.

The font Lucida Grande probably contains everything needed for Latin transcription of Sanskrit, though there are probably others you could use like Charis SIL or Doulos SIL.

Is there a way to transfer Photoshop CS5 between computers without the disk? I bought a new laptop and need to transfer my software from one computer to another. I have my serial number but can't locate my disk.

ITunes Library shared between computers?

I have an iMac (OSX Lion) with two user accounts that are both sharing the same iTunes Library. We now have a Macbook Air with the same user accounts. The Macbook Air obviously does not have the same hard drive space and I therefore did not choose to migrate the library to the Air...What is the best way for each user to access the shared iTunes folder from the iMac? I would like to do this while on the same LAN as well as remotely if possible.
I assume that simply setting iTunes up for "Sharing" will handle the local area question, but what about while we are away from home? I assume that iCloud with iTunes Match would be the only answer?

Rented movies cannot be shared between computers. They can only exist on a single device at a time, and can only be moved from a computer to a player such as an iPod, iPhone or Apple TV. You cannot move a rental from one computer to another.
And yes, actually they do say that, in the Rentals FAQ, among other places.

How can I drag music files between computers while using Home Sharing? An older version of ITunes had a Home Sharing icon in the column browser near the playlist so it was easy to drag and drop.

Home Sharing, 9.0.2 and Copying Between Computers

I've upgraded to the new iTunes version and can no longer copy files between computers. Unfortunately, when I try to drag a file over from the library, it will not drag (previously no problem with this function).
I've followed all of the "help" pages I could locate and searched the forums (2 hours for these processes), checked all connections and can load the library from the "other" computers. I've also noticed some function buttons are missing on the lower right hand corner as instructed in various help screens.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am unable to drag songs from a shared music library between computers. This was working until about a month ago. I have updated to the newest versions of Itunes on both computers (a macbook and an older Toshiba satellite). I have also rebooted both.
