Sharing Apple TV with two iTunes Accounts

I have an iMac with an iTunes Account that is synced with an Apple TV. When I purchase movies on the Apple TV it bills my iTunes Account.
My Wife also has an iTunes Account separate from mine, and wishes to purchase movies on Apple TV and have the fee deducted from her her account.
Is it possible to have your Apple TV bill more than one account?

You will have to log into your wife itune account but from the TV.
Settings, itunes etc......

  • Can 2 teachers share an ipod touch and put apps on it with two itune accounts

Can 2 teachers share an ipod touch and put apps on it with two itune accounts?

    Sure.  No problem.
Be aware that ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.
Minor nuisance if you choose to update apps from inside the computer's iTunes.  If you're logged into the "wrong" account, it's necessary to log out/in to do the update.  It's easier if you update from the iPod itself.  No need to log out/in but you do need to know the password for the ID.

  • How can I use an iPad with two itunes accounts?

How can I use an iPad with two itunes accounts?
    Hi there
My partner has a works iPad, which has her works Apps on (ones that are specifically made by her company and are NOT available in the App store).
What I want to be able to do is to ALSO have my itunes account on there so that I can put all the apps I have purchased previously from my iPhone on it.
This is so I can put on VLC player (thats already in my itunes account) so I can add videos to the iPad.
How do I do this please?
I tried it before by connecting it to my mac, but it wiped everything off the iPad completely and also deleted the data settings for using 3G.
So I want to avoid this happening again the future as it had to be sent back to her head office to be sorted again.
    Any advise please?
    Thanks

You can't. The iPad is desgined to be a 'one user' device and only really works with one apple ID at a time.
The only way would be if she, at work and with her work apple id, downloaded your apps (repurchasing them of course).
It's not meant to be a multiple user/multiple ID device.

  • How to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with one iTunes account

We recently received iPad 2's for Christmas and was looking for some advice on how to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with One iTunes Account (Apple Id).  I have created or attached other e-mail addresses to our apple id but do not know how to use them on the new devices.  Our home MacBook Pro uses our main apple id for FaceTime.  The iPads have been setup with the main apple id w/o being able to use FaceTime and iMessage.
    Please Help...
I appreciate the help and support.

    P and V-
If you are trying to connect to someone with a different Apple ID, I think all the devices should work, but one at a time.
The problem is when you try to connect between two with the same Apple ID.  Once the calling device tries to make the connection, it finds the second device to be "busy".  That is where each needs to use a different E-Mail address when setting it up.
On iOS devices, when you press the Home button to exit an App, the App may still be active in the background, even when the device is sleeping.  If FaceTime or iMessage is merely being active that way, it may be enough to "tie up" the E-Mail address.
From the Home screen, double click your Home button.  You will see a list of recent Apps along the bottom of the screen.  Press and hold on one of them until they start to wiggle.  You will then see a red minus sign on each.  Pressing the minus sign will remove an App from the list, and stop it from working in the background.  (Click the Home button to stop the wiggling, and again to hide the recent Apps.)

  • I have signed in iCloud and Apple Id with two different accounts and forgot the password of iCloud's account so what should I do?

I have signed in iCloud and Apple Id with two different accounts on my Iphone 4S and forgot the password of iCloud's account and I am unable to reset the password of it,so what should I do?

    iCloud: Change your iCloud password
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support
A forgotten iCloud password as above can go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with the same ID they use for iCloud to enter the password reset process.

  • Sharing one library with two user accounts.

I want to share one iTunes library with two user accounts on the same iMac.
I've followed the tutorial where you move the iTunes Music folder to a shared location HD/Shared/iTunes and then pointed both iTunes to that location via the advanced menu, but only the admin account has the music. The other user account iTunes shows nothing.
Also, I've now moved the music folder back to my area on the HD (not shared any more) and now the iTunes music folder shows all the album folders where before I guess they were hidden. Why and how do I get it back to how it was...?
All we're trying to do is share one mac. My wife and I have our own log in user accounts, but want to have the same music and iPhotos accessible on our own set-ups.
    Thanks for any help.

Out of interest I got this to work.
I made a folder called 'All Music' and put all the album folders in it.
Moved this folder to User/Shared/ and then clicked on the file, and Get Info.
In Get Info added my wife to Sharing & Permissions as Read & Write.
In iTunes / Advanced found the folder on my user account, and then did the same on my wife's account and hit add to library.
I hope this was the right way to do it..... It seems to have worked.

  • How do I sign into netflix on apple tv with an iTunes account?

I signed up for netflix through my apple tv by signing up through my iTunes account.  Now when I try to access netflix on my apple tv it tells me that I need to sign in with my email and password and doesn't allow me to sign in through my iTunes account?  Even if I enter the email and password associated with my itunes account, I still have no luck.  Any advice?

If she hasn't yet bought anything on her account then she could use your account with the store apps instead of her own, an account can be used on multiple devices - she can log out of an account by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and she can then log in with a different account.  She can either use her own or your account in Settings > iCloud for backing up (assuming that she wants to back to the cloud and if you want to share calendars etc) - an iCloud account has a free 5 gig allowance, that is per account, not device

  • Will I have problems with two iTunes Accounts?

When I first bought my Mac, I didn’t have MobileMe, and therefore I used my Comcast email address in order to set up my iTunes account. I purchased several Apps, music, and iBooks under my Comcast account, however, since purchasing MobileMe, I have kept myself signed into iTunes under my MobileMe Account, and have made all purchases using my Mobileme iTunes account. Unfortunately, I know this means that I have two iTunes accounts.
For mail, I solely use MobileMe, and any email I get from Comcast, is forwarded to my MobileMe Account. When I get “App Updates” available on my iOS devices (iPhone 4S and iPad2), the “pop up” (which requires I enter my password to allow the download to begin) will be associated with either my Comcast email address, or my MobileMe address (depending upon which account I purchased the App, Music, or Book under). I do use only one single computer for backing up however.
While this hasn’t created any problems using an iTunes hard or wireless sync, I didn’t know if I will have any difficulties once migrating over to iCloud. I’m hopeful that everything works as it has. I don’t have a family account, all purchases under the Comcast and MobileMe addresses currently live locally on my iMac that I use for syncing.
Just wanted to check with you all before I migrate to iCloud, as I didn’t want to lose any of my Apps, Music or Books, nor do I want to have difficulties with App updates (e.g. problems migrating purchases to iCloud that were originally bought under my Comcast Account, or problems updating Apps when updates are available that were originally purchased under my Comcast Account).
Thanks you in advance for any input!
    Best,
    iDan
PS: I recently updates to iOS 5, and 10.7.2!

My personal experience has been no issues with either browser, including using a secure webmail account access.  If others have reported issues, I really can't comment since I haven't had any.  I have used my systems extensively in Paris and Zurich, especially at the technical university in Zurich and been satisfied with my access.
Of course, if you have more than one browser installed you can easily switch between them if problems do arise...a lot to be said for options

  • Can two people with two iTunes account share an iPad

Just a question.  I want to share my iPad but not my iTunes account.. How

    Yes.
When updating an app that was downloaded with another iTunes account, you must use that iTunes account and password. If the password for each iTunes account is not known by the other, you can't download any apps or iTunes content with the other person's iTunes account and vice-versa. The same for app updates.

  • Apple TV sync'd with one MacBookPro with two iTunes accounts

The music videos on my computer were purchased with two separate authorized iTunes accounts but the AppleTV will only authorize one account. The MacBookPro plays music videos authorized under either account. Is there any way I can use the Apple with both accounts ?

I have my AppleTV happily syncing and playing content purchased by three different iTunes store accounts. All I can think is one or other of the account authorisations needs to be re-entered on the Macbook Pro before you re-sync. Log on to the MBP under the Mac account you are using to sync with the AppleTV, start up iTunes, and double-click to play one track that has been purchased with each of the different accounts.
This will make sure all those iTunes accounts are still authorised - I find sometimes one or other might need to be re-authorised after an iTunes update - and also that they are still readable/playable by iTunes running under that account (ie that the file location in iTunes' catalog is still pointing to the right place). When you then sync with the AppleTV the files should all copy across, and subsequently be playable just fine on there.

  • How to split one shared iTunes library associated with two iTunes accounts?

My boyfriend and I share one computer and have one shared iTunes library on that computer. We both maintain our own separate iTunes accounts. We have very different tastes in music, literature, film, etc. the library has become quite large and my boyfriend is frustrated by the complexity of synching his devices to just his selections and would like to separate our purchases into two separate libraries based on our iTunes account purchases. What is the easiest way to split into two different libraries?

To my knowledge, there's no quick way.

set up home sharing on all devices using the same Apple ID. you could create a new Apple ID just for that purpose.
both iTunes can continue to use their individual Apple ID's.

  • How 2 sync 2 iPhones on 2 computers with two iTunes accounts and 1 library?

    Hi,
I've been searching a LOT for a suitable answer to my problem, but so far without any luck!
    This is what I've got:
1 iPhone4 syncing with one MacBook via iTunes account1 (mine)
1 iPhone3Gs syncing with one XP laptop via iTunes account2 (my girlfriend's)
1TB usb drive connected to Airport Extreme holding the entire iTunes library. All the music, apps, podcasts, etc.
Both iTunes accounts are set up so they point to the 1TB drive, but it's not without problems...
What I'd like, is for both computers to be able to "see" the iTunes library, and add files to it, that'll be accessible from each.
And still sync each iPhone with it's own iTunes account.
Is this possible? Or do I need to use the same iTunes account on all phones and computers?
What I've got, apparently, is home-sharing set up in a way that when I add content from iTunes Account1 to iTunes Account2, it gets added to the iTunes library again, and so I have a lot of doubles and, despite the size of the network drive, I'm actually running out of space.
Is there a way to avoid this?
    Best regards,
    Jakob Færch-Jensen

First off all I would recommend against shating between accounts since Aperture was not designed for this and your might encounter library corruption.
You might try this tip on Macworld.com. It requires you to use the Terminal though. Make sure you follow the commands exactly, without any typo's before you hit the enter key to execute a command. (And make a TimeMachine backup before you start.)
After you've complete this, start a new library in the place where you set the extended permissions on. Then everything should work.
A seccond tip is to setup the Aperture library on an external drive and set this volume(drive) to ignore ownership permissions.

  • How do I tie my wife's apple ID with my itunes account?

I have had an itunes account for a while.  She just purchased an iphone and we of course want everything tied together so that she can order things but have them added to our household Itunes account. Can her id be somehow tied to my itunes account?

If she hasn't yet bought anything on her account then she could use your account with the store apps instead of her own, an account can be used on multiple devices - she can log out of an account by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and she can then log in with a different account.  She can either use her own or your account in Settings > iCloud for backing up (assuming that she wants to back to the cloud and if you want to share calendars etc) - an iCloud account has a free 5 gig allowance, that is per account, not device
