Sharing apps between ipad and ipod

My daughter downloads apps on her ipod and then they get uploaded to my ipad because we share an itunes acct.  I don't mind sharing pics and music, but the apps of a teenager are sensory overload for me.  Any suggestions on how the apps can be uploaded to her ipod and not my ipad.

If they are being automatically downloaded to the iPad from the store then you can turn that off via Settings > Store > Apps 'off'.
If they are installed when you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes, then with the iPad connected to and selected on the left-hand side of the your computer's iTunes, select the Apps tab on the right-hand side and make sure that the 'automatically sync new apps' tickbox below the listbox of apps is unticked.

  • Sharing apps between iPad and macbook

    Hi:
I have an Ipad, and I had pages and numbers app installed. Just bougth a Macbook pro
how do I share the apps from Ipad to Macbook?
    thanks.

You can copy the apps from the iPad to your Mac's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, and you can copy documents to/from those apps and your Mac, but if you want to use Pages and Numbers on your Mac then you will need to buy the Mac OS X versions of them from the Mac App Store - the versions that you have on your iPad (iOS) can't be used on a Mac (OS X), they are different operating systems.

  • ICloud not pushing apps between iPad and iPhone what am I doing wrong

I have a new iPad2 and a new iPhone4.  I put iOS5 on both of them.  My understanding of this was when you purchased an app on one device it would push to your other devices.  I did this and the apps do not push to my other device.  I use the same Apple ID for both if that matters.  I set up iCloud on both devices, turned everything "on" and created an @me account.  What am I doing wrong?  Thank you in advance for any help...feeling like an iDiot

I believe you are misunderstanding.  You don't sync apps between iPad and iPhone, and iCloud has nothing to do with any of this.  There is a setting in Settings -> Store where you can set each device to automatically download NEW apps, meaning that when you buy a new app on one device, the other automatically downloads it.  However, this is for new downloads only.
For your existing apps, you can simply connect each device to your computer and move the desired apps to it in iTunes.  Or you can go to the App Store and re-download those apps.

  • Sharing apps between ipas and ipad mini

can i share apps and their contents between an ipad and an ipad mini?

No. You can sync Apps by using the Same apple ID on both devices. But the Apps contents remains on the device unless it has a specific feature that backs up to the cloud or something similar that can then be retrieved on the other device.

  • Sharing playlists between iPad and laptop

I turned on home sharing. My iPad now sees the playlists on my laptop. How do I get my laptop to see playlists mand on the iPad?

I believe it should just work since sharing is across all computer connected to a particular network regardless of how that actually connect (wireless, Ethernet, power line, etc.).
Perhaps your friend's desktop is configured differently than the laptop was with respect to the Windows built in Firewall settings? Maybe your friend can go into the Firewall settings on the desktop and then change it (temporarily) to off just to see if it makes a difference? If so, then your friend may only need to make some sort of exception in the Firewall rules to allow iTunes sharing to come through?

  • Sharing photos between IPad and MacBook Air

    Hi
How can i import some photos recorded into my IPad and save them into my MacBook Air? I mean, how can i share photos between those equipment?
    Thanks
    Jorge

The simplest and most efficient way would be to use Photo Stream as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2605
Photos on your iPad will immediately appear on your MacBook Air in iPhoto -- as long as your MacBook Air is reasonably recent and OS X and iPhoto are current.

  • Why not sync notes between iPad and iPod?

My iPod andipad don't sync notes between rhem

To use iCloud to sync Notes you have to activate the free iCloud email address on www.icloud.com and use that account to keep Notes in sync between devices. Through iTunes on the computer the sync settings need to be set to sync with Mail on the Mac or Outlook on the PC.
I would hope this will change in iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion since Note and Reminders are getting there own apps and should have to be tied to other mail and calendar apps.

  • Syning placement of apps between iPad and iPhone

My boss want to have his iPhone copy the placement of an app that was moved in his iPad is this possible?  For example if he file a app into a folder on his iPhone he wants it to also be filed in his iPad.
    Thanks

There is no way to automate that, sorry. All you can do is manually set up each device the same way, but there is no way to automatically sync such changes between devices as you make them.

  • Pages not updating iCloud between iPad and IPhone

    Can somebody please help?
My Pages app won't stream the current documents to my iPhone using iCloud .
I've tried everything I could possibly do. I've deleted the Pages app off my iPhone and started again. It just won't update the current documents that reflect on my iPad.
It just has the arrows pointing upwards on the top right hand corner of quite a few documents. This is suggesting that there is no Internet connection when there is. I've tried it over WiFi and on 2 separate Bluetooth pairings with 2 iPhones. Each time it is connected with the Internet but the arrows still suggest otherwise.
I have turned every possible iCloud on in every area. Turned them off then on, reset my phone from scratch doing a clean install not using a previous back up. Still didn't work...  Then going back and resetting using a previous back up... Still didn't work :(
I have a 6 month old Mac Mini, the latest iPhone  5 and one month old iPad 4 with the current software updates.....
    Please help
    Regards Gareth

  • Is there a way to stop sharing apps between my iphone and my daughters ipad. We share the same email and itunes account.

is there a way to stop sharing apps between my iphone and my daughters ipad...we share the same email and itunes account.

You can keep the same Apple ID for purchases, but set up her own iCloud account for email and syncing.
You can easily and effectively use the same ID for purchases.
What you do is use the apple ID you have been using for app/book/movie/music purchases. In Settings > Store, make sure you are using your usual apple ID.
Then, set up an icloud (@me.com) account for you on your phone, and one for your daughter on her phone. In Settings > iCloud, make sure each of you are using your new iCloud accounts, and not your Apple ID.
Also, in Settings > Messages > Receive At, make sure you are using your iCloud accounts
This way, all of your purchases are using one account, and you can effectively use iCloud.

  • Can i set up my iPad and iPod to use iMessage between the two devices with the same Apple ID?

Can i set up my iPad and iPod to use iMessage between the two devices with the same Apple ID? SO i could iMessage if out from my iPod to my iPad at home to be viewed by a family member?

Look into using Apple Configurator.  It's the easiest way to "reimage" and Manage iPads that I know of right now.

Also, look into using the Educational Volume Purchase Program, if you have not already done so.

  • Photo sharing issues between iPad mini 2 and Macbook Pro

    Hi
I'm trying to share two albums from iPhoto on my macbook to my iPad mini 2. However, nothing seems to be working, iCloud and Photostream aren't communicating between the two devices, bluetooth keeps telling me that my iPad is not equipped to receive these jpegs. Both devices are on the same apple ID account and i've done everything i can think of to change my sharing and privacy settings to allow the transfer, can anyone offer any advice as to how I can fix this problem??

You can't use Bluetooth to share the photos unless you use AirDrop and your Mac has to meet certain requirements in order to do that. You can read about that here.
Mac Basics: AirDrop lets you send files from your Mac to nearby Macs and iOS devices - Apple Support
I'm not sure why you just wouldn't sync the photos using iTunes. That's how I move my iPhoto albums and events from my MBP to my iOS devices. The newest iTunes interface is not the same as this one, but the process still works the same way.

  • How to keep iPad and iPod apps sync separate if you are using the same PC for backups

Syncing the iPad and iPod using the same PC syncs the apps between the devices. How an Thisbe avoided I don't want to use the same apps in all my devices.

No problem.  The computer's iTunes keeps track by serial number.  The human keeps track by a unique name for each one.  In my case, the iPad is cleverly named "George's iPad" while the iPod is equally cleverly named "George's iPod."
