Sharing calendars on one computer

I have two accounts on my iMac. How do I share all calendars with both accounts.
If it helps, both users have different .me accounts.

Have a look at this "how to": iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer

  • How to synchronise a calendar on one computer and the music on another one

As I don't want to import my music on the business computer, I'm wondering if it is possible to synchronise a calendar on one computer (business) and the music on another one (private) ? Does anyone have an answer ? I tried with itunes homesharing but everytime i try to synchronise only the calendar, it deletes all my music on my iphone.

Turn home sharing off & uncheck content like music, videos & apps on the computer you only want to sync your calendar with. You can sync your contacts & calendars with multiple computers, content like music with only one.

  • Can you now have multiple Itunes accounts sharing content on one computer?

Hi - I was trying to find this information on line but cannot.
The last "big" Itunes update (11.2?) prevented multiple Itunes accounts from sharing content on one computer.  Well, you can, but with consequences. For example, my husband purchased a movie rental with his Itunes account on our computer when he logged on to Itunes, but then I could not download any Itunes content for 30 days when I logged on to my account. I no longer purchase any content from Apple because of this. I was hoping this feature has been discontinued – it prevents households from purchasing Itunes.  We never pirate or steal any content at all. In fact, this feature forces us out of the Itunes universe to purchase movie rentals and music elsewhere.
Not just trying to complain, really. Legitimately want to find out if this rights policy still exists before we both try to rent or purchase anything from Itunes.
    Thanks.

"Won't it present problems if the daughter needs to reauthorize the computer for her own use before 90 days,"
No. The 90 day limit ONLY applies to redownloading purchases from iTunes..
So if she were to redownload purchases from the father's account then she'd have to wait 90 days to redownload form her own account. and the computer can be authorized for multiple iTunes account (pretty sure it's 5) . You don't need to later reauthorize for first account if you authorize for a different account.
More discussion on 90 day wait period - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6094005 - disable automatic downloads so message doesn't appear when using multiple accounts.

  • How do i transmit shared libraries from one computer to apple tv?

how do i transmit shared libraries from one computer to my apple TV?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The same way you share a non-shared library. If it isn't working check that you have the content checked in iTunes Preferences > general > Show.

  • 4 ipods sharing music on ONE computer GET one UP the others GO DOWN

We run windows and have 4 ipods connected to the computer all with different log on accounts
We share all our music with each other
    Problem
when we search for a song and click on it (so we can get it in our individual itunes) seems when you log on to a different ipod theirs is all messed up with a exclamation point on the song just previously shared.
Also, I have noticed when I search for a song I find we have up to 6 and at times 10 copies of the same song. Is there a easy way to clean up this mess and still keep all 4 ipods running?

Well, the fiirst option wasn't working because nothing will sync unless iTunes is running. Since iTunes no longer warns you before it starts syncing, when you move your iPod to a different computer, that means any kind of auto-syncing of my music was not an option.
I also got an error message each time I synced with my iMac after removing iPhoto from it (could not find a compatible photo program), which was already getting annoying. Removing Address Book from the iMac did allow me to sync contacts with the PowerBook and not lose them when syncing to the iMac.
Still, this was only 1/3 of what I was trying to accomplish, and I was getting the feeling that I was just fighting against the way this was supposed to work. So I switched to the second option.
This isn't too bad with the help of Sync Pro X, which I already have installed on my PowerBook for daily backups. What I'm doing now is that whenever I update my photos or contacts on the PowerBook, I run a Sync Pro X script that connects to my iMac and copies my changes in those two programs. Then I can do a full, automatic sync of my iPod to my iMac. Under this plan, I'll never try to sync the iPod to the PowerBook -- it's just a one-computer, one-iPod situation.
I've been following this plan for a week, and it's pretty smooth. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but I've come to think that it's the best approach given how the iPod is designed to work.
I hope this little experiment helps someone, if anyone is trying to do what I was doing.
    Cheers,

  • Can't load home shared library on one computer

I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and a Dell Studio 15 with Windows 7. Each has the very latest version of iTunes 9 on it and a 500 GB HD. The library I want to share is slightly more than 200 GB in size.
My home sharing problem seems to differ from others' issues and I have not seen a discussion of the problem anywhere on the Web. Basically, both computers see the other's library as a home share and, when I try to access each, I get the appropriate screen with the "settings" and "import" buttons on the bottom. However, only the Mac actually gets access to the other computer's library. (On the Mac, I can both see and import from the Dell library.) The Dell, however, will just display the message "Loading [library name]" and does not complete that task. Eventually, it appears to time out, since the "loading" message stops displaying and I get dumped back to the main library listing. This happens whether the McAfee firewall is running or not. (When it is running, I've enabled the two ports referenced in the Apple Home Sharing Troubleshooting Guide found at Apple.com. but that has made no difference.)
I thought the issue might be a memory one, since the library is so large. However, the Mac is running with 2 gigs of RAM and the Dell has 4 gigs. I understand that the OS X and Windows 7 overhead requirements are about the same, so, if anything, there probably is more memory actually available to iTunes on the Dell. The other thought I've had is that the Mac may have a better wireless receiver than does the Dell, so it is better able to pick up the Dell over the network than vice versa. However, both machines' network strength indicators suggest they see excellent signals.
Any thoughts from the experts here? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Just to flesh this out a bit, the problem persists when I connect both computers to a wired network that includes an XP desktop system. The Mac can see and import from both PCs, but neither PC can see the Mac or the other PC. The latter fact suggests to me that the issue lies with the PCs and not with the Mac's transmission of data. Anyway, this still does not work as advertised.

  • Shared music from one computer and library to two ipod touches

so here is my issue. i once had an ipod nano and was full\ of music. christmas last year, my bf got us both the new ipod touch, and so we shared his laptop. i was able to transfer the old music from the nano to the computer and it shows up. however, since we live together and share the media library, i want to know how to get the info for both ipods into my ipad. i tried everything, and long story short, the two ipods both contain our shared library, but the library says the files from the nano and cannot be located. the music i needed is on one of the new ones. so question is, how to i get my entire media library from icloud accounts, devices, and what not transferred to my ipad. can someone help me?

Apparently, nobody is doing something similar...
As an FYI, Podcasts are still automatically updated even when you check the "Manually Manage Music and Videos" checkbox.
I plan to see if I can indeed sync my music with the Mac over the weekend...

  • Home Sharing More Than One Computer

I'm relatively new to Apple TV, but I don't understand the "Computer" tab in the main section. I setup the Apple TV with my wife's account info so when I pass over "Computer" I see her account. Last week I added my account expecting to see both accounts in the drop-down, but it seems that I have to log out and then back in to switch. There are some things on my computer that I would like to show via Apple TV, but this logging on and off of the Home Sharing is frustrating with that joy-stick dial. Did I do something wrong or is this the way it works?

  • Sharing itunes on one computeR??????

hi, me and my sister use the same computer so we have to use the same program of itunes, but we have different tastes in music... so is there anyway you can have two seperate libraries on itunes so we don't have to worry about having eachother's music on eachother's ipods?
    thanks in advance!

    Hi Marty,
    Welcome to Apple Support Discussions!
There is actually a very simple way to do this that Apple has added in iTunes version 7. Before you open iTunes, hold down shift. If you held shift and then hit enter when the iTunes icon was selected, a dialog should come up that says, "iTunes needs a library to continue. You may choose and existing iTunes library or create a new one." And it will display three options. If this is your first time doing this, select "Create Library..." Now you can create a library for yourself separate from your sister's.
iTunes will now load into the library that was last loaded, so just Shift + open iTunes to switch to the other by selecting "Choose Library..."
That should do it! Good luck! Leave a message if you need any more help.

  • Sharing calenders on one computer

My wife and I share a mac via Fast User Switching where I am the administrator. However, there doesn't appear a way for us to share our iCal information. We don't need to be able to write to the shared calenders (however, that would be nice). Is there some way to do this?

    Hi Dennis,
    Caution is always understandable.
Yes, this software is designed to be used with OS 10.4 and iCal 2 as well as OS 10.3 and iCal 1.5. I should point out that I have nothing to do with the author of this software, but it does work on my machine.
There are other ways of doing this. You could start webdav on your machine's Apache server and both subscribe to it locally (instructions - http://www.shawnwall.com/teach/webdav-ical.php ), or some people have got making symbolic links work. Both involve playing around in the Terminal. There is also .mac.
    Best wishes

  • Will home sharing work if one computer is turned off?

  • Missing sync on one computer

I have several computers and mobile devices set to sync via iCloud for contacts and calendars.
One computer will send new updates, but not receive new updates to the contacts. Everything else seems to work properly. So, people whom I add to my contacts from my laptop will not get added to the contacts on my home computer, but in the reverse case, a contact added on my home computer does get added to my laptop computer's contact list.
This results in massive duplications. I update the contacts on my laptop, then it does not update on my home computer. I update the home computer, and I get a second entry on my laptop.
I don't see a "sync now" anywhere. Suggestions?

    To Csound1-
Thanks again, but we do seem to be a bit of ships in the night.
On all computers, iCloud is the default.
Legacy or old references are not the problem here. My concern is only over NEW items added. They should propagate to all the devices on the account, regardless of the device of origin.
If iCloud is the default on all computers and a NEW references/contact is added on one, it should show up on the others as well as all of the other devices. Correct? Stuff added on my laptop shows up on my iphone, my wife's iphone, her ipad etc, everything in the loop EXCEPT my desktop.
Conversely, something added to my desktop shows up on all of the other devices, specifically including the Laptop.
Lastly, anything added to either my or my wife's iPhone, her deskop, the iPad etc, shows up on all the others EXCEPT the desktop.
So it seems that the focus should be on the desktop. I have tried rebooting that machine without changing the pattern. iCloud is the default account for all computers (three of them) in this loop. Only my desktop does not RECEIVE new contacts.
Am I still missing something? Both the laptop and my desktop preference pane looks like this:
There is, on my laptop, ONE card in the "on my mac" account.

  • Shared calendars are showing events that are not on my calendar

I have shared a calendar with my wife.  When she looks at my shared calendar (on mac, on iOS, on icloud.com), she sees events that I long ago deleted on my calendar.  I do not see those events any longer on my calendar (on mac, on iOS, on icloud.com).  I have tried unsharing, then resharing.  Any way to completely clear out my shared calendar?

Looks like it was a really weird situation.  If I viewed the event in my shared calendar on her computer, I could see that I was invited to my own event.  So I gave her edit permissions then she could delete the event and all is good now.  So weird that it didn't show up on my computer

  • Outlook 2013 - Meeting Tracking is not updated when a meeting is changed in a shared calendar

    Hello,
we have troubles in our Outlook 2013 environment.
We changed from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2013.
We have Exchange 2007 in background.
We have Outlook 2013 in Cached Mode.
    Problem description:
A secretary changes a meeting in a shared calendar of one of her bosses/colleagues. The colleague (organizer of meeting) gets responses of the attendees (aceptet, tentiative, denied) in his Mailbox. When he looks into the meeting to check how many persons
have acceptet the meeting, he founds out that the tracking is not update.
I found out in my first solution steps, that this occurs, when the meeting is changed in a shared calendar. When I change th meeting in my own calendar, it works. But we need a solution for the problem, because our secretaries are managing the meetings for
    some colleagues.
    Thanks for help,

    Hi,
For your situation, please try the following steps:
    1. Please install the lasted update for Outlook 2013, and then check the issue.
    2. Check if the AutomateProcessing calendar setting for your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 is set to
    None.
If so, please make sure the Exchange Server administrator start the Exchange Management Shell on the Exchange mailbox server.
Then, run the following command in the Exchange Management Shell:
    Set-MailboxCalendarSettings username -AutomateProcessing Autoupdate
Where username is the affected user's alias.
    3. Switch to Online Exchange mode to test the issue.
    Best Regards,

  • I have 3 i phones.  Can I have multiple accounts on one computer where it keeps the contacta and calendar for each?

I have 3 i phones.  Can I have multiple accounts on one computer where it keeps the contacta and calendar for each?

My daughter and I both have iphones. I created an account (not separate itunes) for her on my computer so she could sync her phone/itunes but not have it interfere with mine since we have WAY different taste in music. Creating a different computer profile should work if you have separate itunes accounts, too.
If you all use the same itunes account, you can turn on Home Sharing. That way you can all download the same content without having to pay for it again. Not sure how or if that works with separate itunes accounts.
    Hope that helps!
