SHARING CANT SEE COMPUTER

I have sharing set up on 2 laptops. Laptop 2 works fine and has a sharing section and can see the first ones library. The first one has no sharing section on the menu down the side and can't see the second one. Bith laptops are signed into the sharing network correctly and I have turned sharing off and on as suggested by Apple but that doesnt help machine one.

It's quite detailed, I'd go through all of the steps and periodically check during the process to see if that first laptop works.

Homesharing has nothing to do with seeing the computer screen on the ATV.
What is really trying to be accomplished?

Home Sharing - Can See Computer on Apple TV but Cannot Browse

I have a Macbook Air (2011) and Apple TV (2nd generation) and I have successfully set up home sharing. I have the ability to select the Apple TV from iTunes on my Macbook Air and use it to play music/movies. However, when trying to browse the computer from the Apple TV, it attempts to connect and then fails with a generic error message about not being able to reach the compuer. However, I have the computer on, iTunes open, and am listening to music. I even tried it without music to no avail.

I think I've isolated the problem. The shared videos that are missing from the ipad mini "Videos" app are 1080p. I thought the ipad mini could play 1080p, or at least downcode to somthing it could display.
Maybe it can't.

I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem. The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6. (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time!

so first off thanks for forceing me to install this virus on my computer that completly caused tons of problems for me.
So the problem i have is that i installed Itunes and now i cant see my cd stations i tryed to update the drivers and it doesent work. so what can i do to solve this problem except to format my whole dam computer.

Next time make regular backups of your computer. The iPhone is not a backup device, and I'm sure you lost more than your iTunes library. See this user tip for your options: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

Cant see my pc shared files, my shared pc

Hi-- When I connect my mac with a hardwire internet cable my shared pc folders show up under the Shared in a finder window. When I hook up my mac wirelessly through airport extreme, the Shared completely disappears and my shared pc folders are unavailable. I've been through the airport setup utility many times now and cant see what I need to change to get it to let my shared pc folders in.
My pc is on a hard wire connection and the setup utility runs on my mac.

I have the same issue. I guess it's just a setting somewhere, but I can't figure where.
Just to tell you there are other people with the same problem.
If you have any information how to fix it, please post.

While I can see computer #1 listed under 'shared,' when I click on it the only songs I can see are those that I already have on the 2nd computer. Hopefully that makes sense. Basically, the library from computer #1 isn't loading up.

If you didn't already do so, try uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components (not just iTunes and AMDS), then reinstall iTunes, as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925. Follow the article and uninstall them in the order indicated.

That would most likely be your printer.
If your HP printer has a SD card reader built in, that is the "shared" network device.
Select the hpp78acc06244 and it'll look something like this:

i have done this on my ipad mini and my imac but they are still not syncing. my iphone 4 has the icloud symbol but it seems to be unresponsive to touch, I cannot get it to highlight or turn-on. Bit confused.
