Sharing/collaboration with external shareholders

Hi,
Our customer is interested in using sap mobile docs. Not only for internal people, but they would like to have some sharing possibilities with their external shareholders.
As mentioned in the documentation, anonymous access with password protecten to a file (read access i suppose) as well as public write access to a published folder.
What does that last option mean - just adding files to a shared folder, or also editing documents which are contained in that published folder?
How far can you go with team collaboration for external shareholders?
please elaborate this further,
also what are the plans in the near future for this "external access" - feature?
thanks
Peter

Hi,
'public write access to a published folder' means adding files to share. From Web App, you can download the document, edit locally and update back to the same share. There is no editing possible within Web App.
What scenario's are you looking forward for external access feature ?

  • File Sharing/Collaborating Question

    I need to understand better how to collaborate as a team on documents.  Situation #1:  I shared a document with a colleague--marked the document "limited access."  The recipient said a password was requred to opent it.  I don't recall an option to provide a password.  Is the password my universal acrobat password, where all documents in my file can be viewed?
    Situation #2:  I shared a different document, different colleague.  When she made edits and went to re-load, she said a password was required.  Same question, do I need to be providing my acrobat password to people I am sharing/collaborating with on documents?
    Situation #3:  During a conference call where participants were screen sharing, a colleague successfully uploaded a revised document to the one we started with.  His document does not appear in my files, in my account.  We definitely viewed it, shared it, online.
    Any coaching and help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks for writing. We’re happy to hear that you’re trying out Buzzword.
    Here’s a little information that may help. There are 3 roles in Buzzword:  author/co-author, reviewer and reader. Authors and co-authors can write, edit and share the document with others. Reviewers can add comments to the document, but cannot share the document further. And readers can view the document, but cannot leave comments or share the document further. (Please see the online Help for more details about each role.)
    The roles are intended to help you manage how different people interact with the document. And, you can change the roles of each person over the lifetime of the document. For example, you may want to give a small group co-author rights to get the document started, and allow writing and editing. As you move through the cycle of the document, you may want to add people as reviewers, and perhaps even change a few co-authors to reviewers as you begin to lock down the content. And finally, when the document is complete, you can then change everyone to a reader. This gives them access to the final document but does not allow them to change the document. This is one way of working that’s been successful with a number of our users.
    In regards to situations #1 and #2 - we do require that individuals have an Acrobat.com account in order to work on a document – even adding comments. There is an option for reading only. You can “Share with a wider audience” - which allows people to read the document without signing in to Buzzword. However, if they want to comment, they will need an account and sign in. In this situation, you would set sharing to the “wider audience” and then copy the URL and send it to those you want to read the document.
    My best guess as to what happened with question #3 is that the individual downloaded the file and made the changes offline, not in Buzzword. This would cause you not to be able to view the changes that had been made in your file.
    Hope this helps! Again, thank you for giving Buzzword a try.

  • Is it possible to list information , that i have shared(i.e documents, sites etc) with external user.

    Hi,
    Is it possible to list information , that i have shared(i.e documents, sites etc) with external user.

    Hi
    We have two version of SharePoint, one the online version and the other on-premise installation
    In online version, we can invite external users(liveID and google users) to have access to site and documents. This feature is provided by ADFS server already configured OOB in online version
    Onpremise version does not have by default the feature to share with external users or customers. we have to extend the site and provide different identity providers.The identity provider can be Active directory,SQL server,Claims,ADFS server which
    will support liveID

  • Public SharePoint Online Site with External User Portal

    Hello Everyone,<o:p></o:p>
    My company switched over to Office 365 a few months ago, and now would like to start using our Public SharePoint site to share information (documents
    pertaining to their orders/drawings/etc.) with our customers (external users).<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    I have seen documentation on how to share documents with individual users, but we were looking to do something a little bit different. We would ultimately
    like to have a public site with generic company information (like hours, about us,directions etc.) that anyone can see.
    We would also like to use SharePoint as almost an "FTP type" service where we could post documents and share them with individual
    external
    users. HOWEVER, instead of sharing individual documents, we were wondering if there was a way that an external user (that we have granted
    access) could sign into the public SharePoint site, and then see information that ONLY pertains to them.
    I have been doing some research on this, and I haven't seen that anyone else has tried this. Has anyone had any luck? Or would you have suggestions on how to make
    this work? I had originally posted this question on the Office 365 SharePoint forum, and they suggested posting this question here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
    did you finally manage to get what you requested here above ? Indeed, I am also struggling to set up the same (public website with individual content sharing with external authentified user).
    For external user, I am quite sure that we need to go through MS ID creation (I have created some test users using https://login.live.com).
    Our public website is done and (almost) working. I have then created a sub-site for the same, this one to manage permission based on authentified user
    But I am stuck when trying to assign a document library with relavant permission.
    Would be great to share our feedback and I have searched a lto on the web and did not find any satisfying answer to this design (If there is any... here is my doubt...)
    Thanks in advance

  • Sharing files with other mac users on iCloud

    May I share files I store on iCloud with other users?

    If you want to try online sharing you might like to look at SugarSync:
    https://www.sugarsync.com/products/sync_sharing.html
    - this page says:
    Collaborate with shared folders
    SugarSync keeps all your shared files up-to-date and in sync for powerful collaboration with your virtual team. With folder sharing, you can collaborate on projects by giving a person, or a group of people, access to a shared folder on your computer. No more wasting time emailing individual files and tracking the latest versions. Just send an email invitation to your clients, coworkers, or family members to join your folder.
    Sync folders of information across teams
    Folder members can sync a shared folder directly to their own computers. Any member of a shared folder can have their own copy of the folder on their own computer. Folder members can edit files locally. Updates are reflected for everyone as soon as the file is saved.
    I've not tried this so you would need to investigate to see whether it suited your requirements.
    There is also a new program, Cloud App, which makes sharing files simple: it runs as a background process and you just drag files to the menu bar icon. Storage is with Heroku and Amazon: it's free with a limit of 10 files per day, maximum 25MB per file, $45 per year for unlimited files, maximum 250MB per file.
    Another possible option is YouSendIt. It provides the facility for you to upload files and send an email to a recipient telling them how to download it: and it's also possible with all but the free plan for others to upload a file for you. The free version allows you to send a maximum file size of 50MB with no upload by others: $9.99 per month gets you 2GB sized files in either direction, and there are upgraded plans.

  • How to create portal user and integrate with external appl login

    How to create portal user and integrate the user with external application for single sign-on ?
    I want to access my external application thru portal user ..?
    Shyam

    Hi Jithin,
    The link that you've shared talks about a different scenario.
    In my case, I want to pass the portal user id when the user clicks on the Help Link present in the header area.
    I am trying to pass it along with the Help Link Url property of a masthead iview but it is not getting passed to the target Url.
    I would like to know if it is possible to pass the Portal User Id in this way or not.
    Though if we create a appintegrator iview and pass the user id <User.UserID> along with the target Url, it reaches there.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Trouble With External Authentication!

    Hello all!
    I have been trying to experiment with external authentication with PHP using the samples provided with the LCCS SDK Navigator.
    I have changed the "index.php" page to include all my account info. and have double checked it!  However, when I upload it to my server, I keep getting the following error(s) whenever I click the submit button on the form:
    Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/lccs.php on line 690
    Warning: fopen(https://collaboration.adobelivecycle.com/myusername?mode=xml&accountonly=true&) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in/home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/lccs.php on line 690
    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'RTCError' with message 'connection-failed' in /home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/lccs.php:695 Stack trace: #0 /home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/lccs.php(587): RTC::http_get('https://collabo...', Array) #1 /home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/lccs.php(254): RTCAccount->do_initialize() #2 /home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/index.php(33): RTCAccount->__construct('https://collabo...') #3 {main} thrown in /home/tueslcom/public_html/LoginTest2/lccs.php on line 695
    I have a bit of experience with PHP, however, going through lccs.php and trying to reverse engineer everything to find out what`s going on is a little beyond my skill level!  Any idea what might be happening/missing here?  This seems like it should be a no-brainer!
    Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
    Matt

    Raff,
    Thanks for your quick reply!
    I called phpinfo() and it appears that OpenSSL is working:
    OpenSSL Support - enabled
    OpenSSL Support - OpenSSL 0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 01 Jul 2008
    Is SSL needed for encrypted communications between the browser and the LCCS server?  When it comes to ports, security, and all the headaches that go with it, I am pretty much a NOOB (by choice)!
    Also, the forum search doesn`t seem to be working (at least it`s not returning anything for me).  Any hints as to what other modules are needed?
    btw - Is it "http://connectnow.acrobat.com" or "https://collaboration.adobelivecycle.com"?
    And it seems that "lccs.php" had been renamed from "afcs.php" along with "RTCAccount", which used to be "AFCSAccount".  The code examples have not been updated to reflect this, and although I fixed this in some of the code, could there still be problems inside "lccs.php"?
    Thanks again,
    Matt

  • Troble configuring Hyperion Shared Services with SQL Server 2005

    I recently installed SQL server (SQL SERVER 2005) in my machine and then am trying to install Hyperion (9.3.1) products. I started with Shared services. It was installed successfully. Problem is occuring when am trying to configure Shared service with SQL database using Hyperion Configuration utility (9.3.1)
    The error which is popping up is
    Unable to connect to the database for the product Hyperion Shared Services.
    Things which I tried from my end
    1. Made sure TCP IP Protocol was enabled in SQL server configuration server.
    2. hypuser was created in SQl server.
    3. hypdb was created in SQL server.
    4. Was having dynamic IP address so install Loopback adapter to obtain Static IP address and port.
    5. Port and IP address was correct.
    Let me know where I am going wrong.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Finally got it fixed firewall settings needed to be change : This document helped me a lot to troubleshoot the issue
    An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)
    This problem may occur when SQL Server 2005 is not configured to accept incoming local and remote connections, which is disabled by default in SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and also SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition. To solve the connection forbidden problem, SQL Server 2005 needs to configure to allow incoming local and remote connections.
    Firstly, ensure that SQL Server 2005 is configured properly to allow incoming connections on the instance of database server, else enable and turn on the local and remote connections setting.
    Click Start button, then go to Programs or All Programs, then select Microsoft SQL Server 2005, followed by Configuration Tools. Click and run the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration.
    On the “SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration” page, click Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections.
    On the “Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections” page, expand Database Engine tree, click Remote Connections.
    Select Local and remote connections, or Local connections only which applicable only if there is no remote system tries to connect to the SQL Server, useful when you just trying to connect and authenticate with the server after installing.
    Select the appropriate protocol to enable to local and/or remote connections environment. To ensure maximum compatibility, select Using both TCP/IP and named pipes.
    Click Apply button when done.
    Click OK button when prompted with the message saying that “Changes to Connection Settings will not take effect until you restart the Database Engine service.”
    On the “Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections” page, expand Database Engine, then click Service.
    Click Stop button to stop the SQL Server service.
    Wait until the MSSQLSERVER service stops, and then click Start button to restart the MSSQLSERVER service.
    Secondly, SQL Server Browser service has to be enabled to allow for local and remote connections if SQL Server 2005 is running by using an instance name and users are not using a specific TCP/IP port number in the connection string.
    On the “Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections” page, click SQL Server Browser.
    Select Automatic as the Startup type to start SQL Server Browser service automatically every time system starts.
    Click Apply button.
    Click on Start button to start the service immediately.
    Click OK button.
    Finally, if remote computer needs to connect and access SQL Server, an exceptions in Windows Firewall included in Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2), Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista needs to be created. If you’re using third-party firewall system, the exception rules also needed to be created to allow external remote connections to the SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server Browser Service to communicate through the firewall, else connections will be blocked. Consult the firewall manual for more details. Each instance of SQL Server 2005 must have its own exception, together with an exclusion for SQL Server Browser service.
    SQL Server 2005 uses an instance ID as part of the path when you install its program files. To create an exception for each instance of SQL Server, you must identify the correct instance ID. To obtain an instance ID, follow these steps:
    Click Start button, then go to Programs or All Programs, then select Microsoft SQL Server 2005, followed by Configuration Tools. Click and run the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
    In “SQL Server Configuration Manager”, click the SQL Server Browser service in the right pane, right-click the instance name in the main window, and then click Properties.
    On the “SQL Server Browser Properties” page, click the Advanced tab, locate the instance ID in the property list.
    Click OK button.
    Then create an exception for SQL Server 2005 in Windows Firewall.
    Click on Start button, the click on Run and type firewall.cpl, and then click OK. For Windows Vista, type firewall.cpl in Start Search box and press Enter key, then click on Allow a program through Windows Firewall link on left tasks pane.
    In “Windows Firewall”, click the Exceptions tab, and then click Add Program.
    In the “Add a Program” window, click Browse button.
    Click the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe executable program, click Open button. MSSQL.1 with is a placeholder for the instance ID that is obtained from previous procedure. Note that the path may be different depending on where SQL Server 2005 is installed.
    Click OK button.
    Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each instance of SQL Server 2005 that needs an exception.
    For SQL Server Browser service, locate the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlbrowser.exe executable program, and click Open button.
    Click OK button.

  • SPM : Integration with External Data Sources

    Dear Experts,
    Can you let me know with your comments or by sharing any link or documentation, as to how to Integrate SPM with External Data Sources.
    And how many or what all external Data Sources, can SPM Connect with ?
    Regards
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
    There are no limitations of external data you can bring into BW and visualise in the SPM UI - you can expose custom bex queries as "datasources" in the user interface, and these can show anything you like. Its just a question about what makes sense to show in SPM.
    Are you looking to bring in anything specific?

  • Sharing disabled for external hard disks?

    After installing Lion, I find that I could not enable sharing for my external hard disks. I right-clicked each hard disk in Finder, checked the Shared Folder box and after I close the window and reopen it, the Shared Folder box is again unchecked. In System Prefs, I have already enabled File Sharing. Also, I could not do Screen Sharing as well. What could be wrong? I didn't have all these problems with Snow Leopard. Now my media player (on the same network) cannot see the two hard disks attached to my iMac.

    If the external hard disk is connected via network, I found that if you connect to that hard disk through its IP address in a web browser and change it's folder preferences to (everyone can read/write), that will allow Lion to access the files.
    I had the same situation, and this worked.  You can use a program called Magical Finder to locate the IP address.
    http://www.iodata.jp/lib/product/m/3022_mac.htm
    The site is in Japanese, but the software has English support.  Really easy to use, but you could probably use any kind of network scanning software to find the ip address.

  • How do user accounts function with external hard drives?

    I realized in the help menu that it implies that users can be setup with AEBS and external drives... and with the internal drive of a TC. Since I only have a TC, the thing I noticed is that when I setup a User, it seems to exist on the internal drive. It is not obvious to me that the external drive also has a user folder... it may not. The instructions are very much NOT specific... does anyone have any idea how this really works internally in the TC... and how does that compare to an AEBS with two USB drives?
    Thanks...

    This is the only pertinent information in the pdf manual.
    58 Chapter 3 AirPort Network Designs
    To share a USB hard disk on you network:
    1 Plug the hard disk into the USB port on the back of the base station.
    2 Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a Mac, or
    in Start > All Programs > AirPort on a Windows computer.
    3 Select your base station, and then choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu,
    or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter
    the base station password if necessary.
    4 Click the Disks button, and then click File Sharing.
    5 Choose “With a disk password,” or “With base station password” if you want to secure
    the shared disk with a password, or choose “With accounts” if you want to secure the
    disk using accounts.
    Â If you choose to use accounts, click Configure Accounts, click the Add button, and
    then enter a name and password for each user that will access the disk.
    6 Choose “Not allowed,” “Read only,” or “Read and write” to assign guest access to the
    disk.
    7 Select the “Share disks over Ethernet WAN port” checkbox if you want to provide
    remote access to the disk over the WAN port.

  • Linux JVM: How to load shared libraries with mutual/circular dependencies

    Hi,
    I am using the API
    System.loadLibrary(String name)
    to dynamically link shared libaries to Linux JVM.
    The shared libraries has complex circular symbol dependencies among them.
    I am not able to load shared libraries due to java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError.
    Any ideas on how a number of shared libraries with interdependent realtionships
    could be successfully linked in to the Linux JVM?
    Thanks,
    Soumen.
    Background
    ===========
    Successful execution of native code within Java virtual machine in a
    host platform, has two necessary prerequisites:
    Prerequisite 1: The native code is written to the JNI specification
    Prerequisite 2: The native code is dynamically linked with Java virtual
    machine.
    The second step is achieved via simple Java interface, System.loadLibrary:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/lang/System.html#loadLibrary(java.lang.String)
    However, implementation of this interface is highly platform dependent
    in regards to exact nature of dynamic linking process.
    Tests
    =====
    I made three shared libraries libfeatureA.so, libfeatureB.so and libfeatureC.so.
    Feature A and Feature B are mutually dependent on each other (i.e cicular
    dependencies between libfeatureA.so, libfeatureB.so) whereas libfeatureC.so
    has no external dependencies.
    Case 1
    I could link libfeatureC.so with java.
    Case 2
    Java failed to resolve circular dependency between libfeatureA.so, libfeatureB.so
    resulting in linking failure. There may be repackaging workarounds which I have
    not yet explored.
    Java source code
    ================
    class TestLoadLibrary
    static
    System.loadLibrary("featureB");
    System.loadLibrary("featureA");
    System.loadLibrary("featureB");
    public static void main(String[] args)
    System.out.println("In TestLoadLibrary.main()");
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /homes/soumen/work/event/featureB/libfeatureB.so.1.0: /homes/soumen/work/ev B.so.1.0: undefined symbol: featureA_func2
    at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1737)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1662)
    at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:817)
    at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:986)
    at TestLoadLibrary.<clinit>(TestLoadLibrary.java:5)

    The use of "dlopen() application programming" to achieve dynamic link closure works if there are
    no circular dependencies. For example, I have the following dependency:
    libfeatureD.so ==> libfeatureC.so
    Even if I call Java APIs in correct dependency order, i.e.,
    System.loadLibrary("featureC");
    System.loadLibrary("featureD");
    there would be java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError for call System.loadLibrary("featureD").
    Now, I have a JNI method implementation, which makes native API call in same dependency order:
    dlopen("libfeatureC.so", RTLD_LAZY|RTLD_GLOBAL);
    dlopen("libfeatureD.so", RTLD_LAZY|RTLD_GLOBAL);
    and now System.loadLibrary calls succeed. Note that I had to set environment
    variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH so that dlopen call would find libraries to load.
    In other words, from a JNI programming point of view, "linking chasm" has been crossed.
    I am looking at circular dependency issue, i.e.,
    libfeatureA.so <==> libfeatureB.so
    There may be library repackaging workaround.
    If anybody knows any workaround, please post.

  • HT4622 Collaborating with GarageBand using iPads

    A friend and I want to start collaborating with GarageBand using our iPads. What is the easiest way to share project files so they can be worked on by either of us? Thanks for any help.

    The easiest way would be to share the GarageBand Project to iCloud and and access it from iCloud. Only that would require you both to use the same AppleID with iCloud, and that is not recommended.
    The other way to transfer projects between iPads requires a detour to your computers. If you both have macs, share your GarageBand project to iTunes on your mac, then copy it to your friend's mac and share it to your friend's iPad using your friend's iTunes library.
    How to share GB projects from IOS devices to Macs is described here:
    Share GarageBand songs
    See the paragraph:
    Send a GarageBand song to iTunes:
    Tap the My Songs button, then tap Edit.
    Tap the song you want to send, then tap the Share button .
    Tap Share Song via iTunes.
    Do one of the following:
    To send the song as a GarageBand song, tap GarageBand.
    To send the song as an audio file, tap iTunes, then tap Share.
    After you tap the iTunes icon, you can choose the quality of the file GarageBand sends to iTunes. You can also add artist, composer, and title information that appears in iTunes.
    Sync your iPad with your computer.In iTunes, the exported song appears in the Documents list in the File Sharing area when GarageBand is selected.
    Do one of the following:
    Drag the song from the GarageBand Documents list to the Finder.
    Click Save As, navigate to the location where you want to save the song, then click Save.
    You can open the GarageBand song in GarageBand on your Mac, or play the audio file in iTunes (or any compatible audio application) on your computer. GarageBand songs cannot be opened on a Windows computer.
    If your friend has a PC and not a mac, it will be more involved, see: Re: Loading a .band file back into Garageband (iPad 2)

    Lync 2013 Enterprise pool (november 2013 updates) on Windows 2012 and
    Windows 2012 webapp farm
    Kemp HLB
    Everything is working ok, including whiteboards and application sharing, but i cannot get the powerpoint sharing to work. I always get the "some presenting features are unavailable due to server connectivity issues" for internal or external
    users.
    The webapp looks healthy and there are no errors in the Lync server or the webapp event log. Discovery urls can be accessed and i have put the .net 3.5 as suggested in a few forums.
    When a user starts the PowerPoint it successfully loads the file to the Lync file share and request goto the webapp server. I am using a HLB which shows me that requests are forwarded to the webapp farm. I have removed the HLB for testing and get the same
    results.
    I did log this with the forum a month or so ago, but I had a file upload issue then which is now solved, but the powerpoint sharing is not.
    any ideas?

    I ran some diags on the client and i managed to find an error. This was in the client debug logs when trying to start a powerpoint presentation

  • Using a workflow to share documents with external users

    I'm trying to create a workflow that will share documents with external users. Those external users don't have SharePoint logons.
    One approach might be to send an email using a 2010 workflow. However there doesn't appear to be the ability to attach a document to that email.
    The other approach could be to use the Share function of SharePoint 2013 but can this be triggered using a workflow? If so how?
    Please note: I'm using SharePoint Online
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mark E.

    Hi Mark,
    You can use external sharing option in SharePoint Online. Below links might help:
