Sharing collections

why isn't it possible to export collections (to google maps/earth/whatever) or share them with other nokia users?
i do not mean sharing single POIs, i know that is possible.
i mean sharing complete collections.

so the way to share a collection is to give other people complete access to my nokia account?

  • LR Mobile shared collection questions

    I know you can view shared collections in the mobile app and a web site,  but can you view the collection on a 2nd desktop running Lightroom also?
    Can 2 desktops each have their own unique shared collections that all other devices can see?
    thanks

    Good morning Guido,
    Well, I may have messed things up, or I may have stumbled across the source of my original issues of "0 Photos" and heavy pauses opening mobile collections.
    I un-synced every collection in LrD. But Adobe online (lightroom.adobe.com) still shows all of the collections. I deleted LrM on my iPad and it's still syncing all the original collections.
    How do I do a complete reset of LrM and all synced collections? I want to start from scratch - nothing sync'd, no collection on Adobe online. I'll remove LrM and start on the iPad from scratch. But only when Adobe online shows what I have flagged for sync in LrD. Then I'll start with a few small collections and see if the original problems persist.
    I'm hesitant to delete the collections on the Adobe site but it seems that that might be the way to go.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Have a great day,
    Michael

  • Sharing collections in Bridge CS5?

    Does anybody know if I can share a collection w/ someone else if we are on the same server of images, using Bridge CS5? It would seem to be a no-brainer, right?
    Thanks, y'all...

    At first glance the answer would be "that is what the purpose of networks are--to share data".  But you might have to check the help files on Bridge to see how it reacts over the network, whether two people can access the same file at the same time, especially with video, and what would happen if one of those people updated the file--what would become of the file that the second person is using--would it automatically update?  In the event they were using Linked Images such as in Illustrator I guess that would work pretty well but the communication needs to be open between the file users to see who will update what.  I do not know if Bridge has a legend or key that displays when a file has been changed by one person on the network.  There are other Adobe network-shared programs that do have this feature although the name of the product escapes me--it's one of their document products.

  • Sharing collections in 'Bridge'

    I have read through the thread regarding utilizing 'Bridge' to organize images. I recently attended a CS5 Roadshow where the speaker utilized a collection to manage a set of images from various server locations.
    What I am trying to do is utlize a master image library, and then only link the images we need for a project to a collection that the rest of the design team can utilize without copying these images to the job folder for the project, therefore duplicating the images.
    My Question? Is it possible to export or share a 'Bridge' collection  with other designers in the studio without shifting the images into a  single folder?

  • Is it possible to share Bridge "Collections"

    Is there a way to share a set of Bridge "Collections" among a group of networked computers? Our image files are on a network attached storage devise (a NAS -- essentially a hard drive accessible on the network), and I want every workstation to be able to  access -- and to change -- the same collections. To the best of my knowledge, the collections are saved in .filelist files on whichever computer was used to creat them. I'd like to store the Collection files (the .filelist files, I assume) on network hard drive, too.

    Information on how Bridge works networks is rather fuzzy.  Here is the current thinking on sharing collections between different computers.

  • ITunes movie and music sharing advice needed

    OK, I need some adavice from some of you itunes experts out there.
    First, let me explain my setup by going room to room.
    Home Office: Airport Extreme, sitting next to an Intel Dial Core Mac Mini. Mac Mini has an external 1TB hard drive with my music and tons of movies.
    Living room: Plasma flat screen. Will eventually have an appleTV or mac mini connected to it. Currently I use one of my two Macbooks to connect to the TV if I want to play a movie.
    Bedroom: LCD flat screen TV. Like the living room, will eventually have an apple tv or a mac mini, but right now I use one of my laptops.
    All computers are running OSX 10.5.8 and iTunes 9.
    Here's what I want to do:
    - I want to quickly browse my movies and music (movies more important) from any one of the TVs
    - I would prefer to use a remote, like the Apple Remote or a programmable one from Logitech, to browse through the movies. With two kids under 5, the last thing I want in the living room is a wireless keyboard and mouse that they will easily destroy.
    - I would like to browse the movies according to categories (comedy, drama, TV shows) instead of a big long alphabetical list (alphabetical lists are a pain when you have complete TV series collections like 24 or Curb Your Enthusiasm, shows that might have 100 episodes. Scrolling through them is a big PITA).
    - I want to maintain a centralized library of my media, and not have copies of movies and music sitting on different computers. That's why I have it all on the Mac Mini in my office. This makes it easier for me to do a backup or to add movies I have ripped from my DVD collection somewhere else (copying 30 gb across wireless takes too long)
    So far, Front Row has been a bit of a disappointment. Browsing a shared collection is klugy, and requires me to put an alias in the movie folder on each machine. BAlso I have not noticed any way to browse movies by their categories/genres.
    So, what should I do? Will a product like Media Central, or Plex, do the trick? Or am I missing something about the new Home Sharing feature> When I tried Home Sharing, it COPIED the movie from one machine to another, it didn;t just create a link to it. Should I move the music/movie drive to the Airport Extreme, instead of having it connected to the Mac Mini?
    Any advice folks? I would really really appreciate it.

    right click the movie file, get info and 'options'. Apple have moved the drop down menu!

  • Adding multiple items at once to a SharedCollection

    I'm playing around with Cocomo for the first time. I like it
    a lot, but haven't yet got enough understanding of the API. So I'm
    sure I'm missing something obvious.
    Anyway. I want to build an application that share an array of
    items between clients. The array should be persistent and when a
    new client connects it will get the latest data. At the startup of
    the first client I want to fill the shared array with default data.
    I also want to revert to this data from time to time in an
    applications lifecycle.
    I've been checking out the examples and I think a
    SharedCollection would be perfect for this scenario (not sure if it
    really is?).
    The problem I have is when I try to fill the SharedCollection
    with data, using the addItem method within a for loop, I only get
    an entry with the last item, instead of multiple entries (I'm
    checking what data that has been added by using the Dev Console).
    I'm doing all this in the SYNCHRONIZATION_CHANGE event (only the
    first time it's fired).
    I should also note that this happens the first time, when no
    CollectionNode already is created. When a CollectionNode already
    exist it works.
    Is this totally the wrong way to go? Am I missing something
    about how CollectionNodes should be created? Any help is highly
    appriciated!

    Hi ,
    I actually modified the SharedCollectionExample locally to
    have items added in the beginning in synchrinization change
    handler. It works fine for me , here is what I did
    In the SharedCollectionExample in the examples folder ,
    add this line
    _model.addEventListener(CollectionNodeEvent.SYNCHRONIZATION_CHANGE,onSynchronizationChang e);
    in the onCreationComplete() method where you first declare
    SharedCollection Class.
    And in the
    private function
    onSynchronizationChange(p_evt:CollectionNodeEvent):void
    if ( _model.isSynchronized ) {
    _model.addItem({State:"Nevada",Capital:"Carson City"});
    _model.addItem({State:"California",Capital:"Sacramento"});
    I can get multiple items( i.e. these two items i added) in
    the very beginning. If you check that the model ( SharedCollection)
    is synchronized and add within it the items it should work fine and
    will give you an initial set of items. Also, shared collection has
    a property called idField and it will index objects based on this
    field value with duplicates being overwritten.
    I hope this helps. Otherwise please copy fractions of code
    where you are still finding problem.
    Thanks

  • Multiple libraries syncing to Facebook

    If you have multiple libraries, and you sync to facebook, aperture syncs facebook albums to all libraries, needlessly increasing their size. Is there any workaround?

    The catalog name is not important. I cannot see the catalog name in lightroom mobile, and I don't care which catalog the collection originated from. Behind the scenes, I imagine the collection would be named something like "catalogue A collection XYZ". The problem would only come up with multiple shared collections with the same name.
    If the same file was shared in multiple collections, I could see that as being an issue. One that is solved by lightroom already. It doesn't matter if an image is in 5 different collections in lightroom right now, lightroom only sees the one image. If you edit the image in collection #3, then the same edits are reflected in collection #5. I'd imagine that some time delay may be present, but the same idea would carry over to the cloud. There is still only 1 image even if it is present in a dozen collections.

  • Best way to synchronize in a Singleton

    I have this classimport java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    public class SynchIssues
      private List values = new ArrayList();
      private static final SynchIssues singleton = new SynchIssues();
      public static SynchIssues getInstance()
        return singleton;
      public void addValue(String value)
        synchronized(singleton)
          values.add(value);
      public String getValue(int i)
        synchronized (singleton)
          return (String) values.get(i);
    }And i synchronize on the singleton itself , but some collegue uses a different approach
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    public class SynchIssues2
      private List values = new ArrayList();
      private static final SynchIssues2 singleton = new SynchIssues2();
      public static SynchIssues2 getInstance()
        return singleton;
      public synchronized void addValue(String value)
          values.add(value);
      public synchronized String getValue(int i)
          return (String) values.get(i);
    }He uses synchronize on the methods in stead of the SIngleton.
    What approach is best ?
    Are both approaches thread safe ?
    Do teh different approaches risk deadlocking when different thread will be accessing the classes ?

    What do you need to do exactly? What does "the most thread-safe" mean?
    If I read correctly your code samples, the fact that the "shared object" is a singleton is not relevant. Your point seems to be more about a generic issue of "synchronizing access to a shared collection".
    Without resorting to bytecode examination, it seems your 3 code samples look equivalent as far as individual add() and get() operations are concerned: each operation is atomic, and only one thread is actually reading/modifying the collection at a given time. In this regard each of these operations can be told "thread-safe".
    However it gives absolutely no guarantee about several operations executed in sequence : two threads executing such a sequence would probably see their get() and add() interleaved. This may or may not cause a problem depending on your application (what you do about the data in the collection, and in particular how you react to reaching the end of the list).
    If you want this kind of guarantee of per-sequence atomicity (a sequence of, e.g., get() is executed without any other thread modifying the collection in between), you have to make sure each client synchronizes on the collection (or on the singleton, if it's the only wrapper) around the whole block of the sequence:
    SynchIssueX singleton = SynchIssueX.getInstance();
    // make sure no other thread may read any value before I've added them all:
    synchronized (singleton) {
      singleton.add(value1);
      singleton.add(value2);
      singleton.add(value3);
    }

  • Adding time/duration-stamp at instants to a textfile

    Hi.
    I've got some help from Jared to set up a measure envirment where I can store state changes to a textfile. What I would like to add now is a time column which shows the elapsed time in millis or rather micros.  It is only at the the instants when a state, for example 0 0 1 is written to file I would like to know the elapsed time.
    I would like it like:
    time (us) | di1 | di2 | di3
    1                 1      0      0
    7                 0      1      0
    I've tried to set up such environment, but not successed. It shouldn't be hard and I've been trying the timing functions without luck
    I would be grateful for all hints and help.
    A example of output textfile can be found here: http://bachman.tor.lindesign.se/tmp/minfil5.txt , workspace, screenshot are attached,
    thanks /Bachman

  • Ever a reason to not call notify()?

    within a sychronized block, is there ever a reason to not call notify(); just before exiting?
    specifically, i'm sharing a collection across multiple thread classes.
    (1) if i know that no thread will ever wait() on the collection, i never need to invoke notify().
    (2) yet, is there ever any downside to always invoking notify();
    in the future, it might happen that some object will wait() on the shared collection. and due to
    encapsulation of the source, the new developer will not see this, or do anything about it.
    so, just to be safe, shouldn't i always call notify(). ?
    other minor issue:
    (1) when possible shouldn't i use notify() instead of notifyAll() ?
    if all waiting threads awaken, then there must be some overhead involved for
    resolving which of the competing objects will get the lock?

    so, just to be safe, shouldn't i always call notify(). ?Then you have a much bigger issue at hand. Specifically, you are creating a shared API where usage of that API is completely dependent on some unexposed internals of that API. I'd say you should instead design your shared points so this isn't an issue.

  • LR Mobile and multiple users

    My wife and I share a CC subscription, and both want to use LR mobile to access our shared collections on our iPads. It seems CC only provides a single LR mobile sign-in. How can I have my own LR mobile on my iPad and my wife have here own on her iPad?

    By each having your own subscription.
    Subscriptions are not supposed to be shared. They're tied to one Adobe ID at all times and assume the same person is using them at all times. The End User License Agreement permits one license holder to activate the software for personal use on a maximum of two computers at the same time.

  • My very expensive 2010 MacBook Pro hard drive died over a year ago (never bothered to fix it as the dvd drive had also failed so not worth it).   Nevertheless, I finally decided to sync my iPhone to the replacement laptop pc and it wiped out all the music

    My very expensive 2010 MacBook Pro hard drive died over a year ago. I finally synced my iPhone to the replacement laptop pc and it wiped out all the music on the phone including most of the purchases. Can I get the music back (restore didn't help)?

    Okay, I finally got the couple of songs left on the phone to play by uninstalling and reinstalling itunes on the pc and re syncing. The last version I installed (just prior to my original post) failed to start due to some unspecified error?!?. Great!. But I still couldn't sync the itunes purchases from the PC to the iPhone. Then, after about an hour of googling and reading assorted posts mostly about using google to resolve the issue, I finally figured out that I have to actually download ALL the purchased albums from iCloud back onto the iPhone! There are hundreds of them, and some are not even available anymore.
    Why do I have to do that when I originally purchased and downloaded all the music to the phone? Why are they all on the PC to begin with and why won't they go to the phone via the USB cable? Why didn't all the music get wiped out on the phone when I synced with the dodgy itunes I had to uninstall. never mind.
    I accept that all my original music from cds and shared collections is gone on the failed mbp hard drive, but how come this once okay experience has become a trauma? Hundreds of songs to download all over again, sheesh, this has not exactlybeen a "That Was Easy" experience guys.
