Sharing contacts with Imac

I can't get my contacts to share between my Iphone and IMAc in Icloud

Are they really in iCloud?  Can you go to http://www.icloud.com from Safari and see them there?

My iPad2 and iphone4s are no longer sharing contacts with icloud. I have checked everything I can think of. Please help

Thanks, both were checked, but I decided to turn off contacts on on the iPad, kept contacts, then turned on again. That worked at least so far. Thanks for helping me get my brain working!!

  • Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2007 Shared Contacts with Attachments

We have an Exchange 2010 server. There is only one Exchange server so all roles are on this server.
Found out that sharing contacts between users misses something.
If a user has Attachments or Notes in their contacts we can see via the Attachment column in Contacts that there are attachments.
But another user viewing the shared Contacts of the user above, cannot see if the Contacts have Attachments unless they open each one. The Attachment column states there are no Attachments. Is this how it is? Is it a syncing issue?
The image I have attached is what the user sees accessing a shared contact address book. It shows Notes and the Attachments columns. The contacts with partial words visible in the Notes column should have a Paper Clip Icon as they also have attached items.

    Hi,
There is no related feature in Exchange server to manage Outlook view.
Additionally, I shared my Contact with another user in my Exchange 2010 SP3 with Outlook 2013 environment. And it showed the same results as yours. The attachments icon was not shown in the list view in another user’s Outlook but it appeared in my own Contact.
    Thanks,

  • How can i stop my iphone 4s from sharing contacts with my husbands phone

My husband and I share an Icloud. How can I prevent my contacts and information from going into his phone.  thank goodness I do not get his contacts in mine!

As long as you share that AppleID for iCloud, you cannot.  You are sharing a a single iCloud account and sync services.  The only thing you can do is get a second AppleID and use it with iCloud - you do not have to use that new AppleID for anything but iCloud (ie. you can still share an AppleID for iTunes and App store purchases).
P.S. I am assuming you both want to sync your contacts with iCloud?

  • How do I setup useful shared contacts with Exchange OWA Outlook 2013

    Hi There,
    I have a non profit I'm helping out. They have Exchange 2013 Sp1 & outlook 2013 .
How can I setup shared contacts for Outlook and OWA users?
I have been struggling to setup a useful shared contacts folder. No Matter what way I do it there seems to be major shortcomings.
They have 1 "Shared" mailbox account [email protected] and many user accounts [email protected]
I first imported the contacts from csv into a contacts folder in the info@ account, which works great for the Info@ user. When I share the folder with other users they can see it listed in "People" in full Outlook, but if they're addressing a message
they can't see the contacts when they hit the TO button. If I look at the properties of the Info@ Contacts folder in the folder list of the User, the Outlook Address Book tab is missing. Also can't find any way in OWA for User@ to open the shared contact folder.
I also tried using Public folders to share the contacts but found problems there too. Using Full desktop Outlook, users can share contacts, add to their Outlook address book etc. Great, but... there's no way to access Public Folder Contact folders in OWA.
They're a fully volunteer organization so many people are using OWA from home, they're not IT people so it needs to be easy.
Is there something I'm missing, when I started out on the task I thought it would be simple. Its hard to believe after all this time MS hasn't addressed these major shared contact shortcomings.
    Thanks for any help!

I decided to go with a mixed solution.
Not every member has a society email account, only the executive and key volunteers have society exchange email accounts.
I imported the society member list into the the GAL, this allows any society mail users to email other members easily
I then imported the larger marketing list into the shared mail account which is restricted to a few users. They can be shared from there to other users, but they can only access those shared contact from Outlook (not OWA)
It's not ideal as OWA users cannot access the contacts from the Shared Mailbox but they can at least find other members addresses easily.
It looks like I could also setup a new GAL and share it with only some users, haven't dug too deeply into this yet.
    Thanks for your help Ed

  • Problem: Sharing Folders with iMac and winXP

We have been running a small workgroup sharing so far two winxp machines over a wifi-modem-router-switch. The two pc share folders without problem.
I have now proudly made the switch over to using Apple iMac. Whilst the iMac experience is fantastic, getting to share the iMac with the rest of the winXP is turning into a nightmare.
I have spent 45 minutes with the tech support team of my ISP router supplier (ISP:Club-Internet - Router :AH4021/Tecom AH4222)
Every check & settings turned out to be fine, but they were unable to diagnose the problem.
I spent 3 sessions and over 1 hour (without counting time waiting over the phone) with the Apple support team, and whilst they were very friendly, they were unable to diagnose the problem.
I cannot ping the iMac from the xp machine, but I am told there is hope though, as i can ping ok my xp machine from iMac.
    All firewalls have been removed.
File n window sharing set on all machines.
DHCP manually setup assigning fix IP/DNS etc..
Same username on all machines, with unique machine name
Is there anybody who could help? Help!

Just hanged up from Apple tech support France, and this time, spoke to another friendly AND helpful support assistant named Simon.
Simon got me straight into the Finder>Go>Connect to Server
Type into your Server Address window : smb://and here your pc ip address you want to get to
    example: smb://192.168.1.2
Hit Enter key, and your pc should appear
    Thank you Simon!
Also, watch out for port 80 being hugged by apps like Skype...it might interfer
AND any port being specified into your NAT configuration in your router might confused the search.
    Voila!

  • Problems Sharing Contacts with iCloud

My wife and I each have an iPhone and and an iCloud account.  However, all our contacts are on my Mac (my Apple ID).  I have created a new account in my address book for my wife's iCloud which has successfully shared the Calander but it hasn't worked for contacts, does anyone know why or how I can fix it?

I fixed it by temporarily unchecking iCloud syncing in my Address Book, I have the feeling this is a not-solved bug of iCloud. After unchecking all my Address Book synced fine with my iPhone.
I do know this is not the expected answer, perhaps, but it an interim solution. In general, do not trust in such automatic syncing, make local, controllable backup of your essential data.

  • TS4118 how to sync calendar/contacts with imac, ipad, & iphone

I am having issues syncing with all of my products and would love some assistance, please.
I have the new ipad and the iphone 5.  I also have an imac running Mac OS X (version 10.6.8).  I can sync the ipad and iphone 5 with icloud but I end up with a lot of duplicates.  Nothing seems to be syncing with the imac.
I used to be able to keep my imac as the primary item that I would make all of the changes on, plug my ipad into the computer and when it would sync (over itunes), it would make the calendar/contacts adjustments on to the ipad, but since getting the iphone, that just isn't happening any more.  Is it because of icloud?  Now, there is nothing on my imac calendar - the iphone seems to be the primary with both the ipad & iphone having a ton of duplicates (both in the calendar and the contacts)!
Thanks sooo much for any assistance you can provide!

While waiting for a reply, you can read the documentation that was in the box your iPad came in.  It's a book about a Spanish guy called Manual.
The answer is iTunes.  Download it.  Install it.  Read the instructions.  Use it.

  • How to replace iphone 5s contacts with imac (10.6.8) contacts

need to totally replace contacts in the iPhone 5s with the contacts in Apple Mail Address Book on an iMac running OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) with latest version of iTunes.  I know there must be a way to do this, but have been unable to figure it out so far.  This is my first smartphone and it's only 3 weeks old.  IT person at work set my email up, but I want the contacts to be the ones from my home computer.  A merge or sync would produce the wrong desired results, so I need to completely replace the iPhone contacts.

Correct.  To use an iPhone5 with iTunes you must use iTunes 10.7.  To use iTunes 10.7 you absolutely must be running at least OSX 10.6.8.
We use an iPhone without iTunes but the main thing we do not do is sync.  We do not have an music or movies on the phone, though you could as long as you did all the interfacing with iCloud.  We back up our modest (<5GB) collection of things to iCloud.  You can use Image capture or iPhoto to transfer photos and movies you take with the phone to a computer.

  • ICloud Drive, what about sharing contacts with my older iOS devices?

Hi folks, I have finally upgraded my Macbook Pro to Yosemite and my iPhone 5S to iOS 8 and Monday will be the promising iOS 8.1.
During the process I have been offered to also update my iCloud account to iCloud Drive.
Sounds cool and necessary to benefit from a few extra features however I still own and use a iPhone 3GS and another iPhone 4.
It's clear that with iCloud Drive I won't be able to share documents among those devices; I can live with that but what about my contacts, calendars and Safari bookmarks not to mention Photos and iTunes Match, would that be the end of it or would those later services still be shared among older and newer devices?
I can't see it clearly stated among iCloud Drive specs and now I am hesitating with the update..
    P

Hi randers4, your explanation convinced me and I have made the plunge and upgraded to iCloud Drive.
It works as you explained, all other services such as Safari Bookmarks, Reminders, Contacts and keep syncing data among them. Nice.
It will be interesting however, how custom folders and files, will share among different users.
Haven't found much documentation on that either but suspect the mechanism won't be as refined as in DropBox.
For instance: as far as I can see, I can't create/copy a link to one specific folder I have created but have to use either Mail, Messages, or one of the SocialMedia I have registered on the Mac.
But perhaps I should start a new topic on this
    Thanks and regards

  • Sharing Contacts with IPhones and MobileMe

My friend and I need to share contacts. We both have Iphones and MobileMe accounts, but I have an IMac and he has a PC. I know how to share my address book with him using Mac OS and MobileMe, but how can I get access to his contacts?
    Thank you.

Thanks, both were checked, but I decided to turn off contacts on on the iPad, kept contacts, then turned on again. That worked at least so far. Thanks for helping me get my brain working!!

  • Sharing Contacts With Family

With the new update, and the new family sharing program, my parents have all of my contacts in their phone. How can I get rid of them on their phones?

  • Sync contacts with imac

    Hi
Hope some can help. Just received my new imac and transferred my itunes folder from my old windows PC.
I forgot to keep the backup file before I formatted my old PC before selling.
I dont want to attach my iphone due to fear of losing my contacts.
Is there a way to connect the iphone to itunes without losing my contacts? Not worried about apps, music etc as these are in my itunes folder

    Do the following:
Launch isync from the applications folder & under preferences reset sync history. Reboot your computer when finished.
Put one contact in address book, it can be fake, doesn't matter. Same with ical.
Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes.
Connect your phone, itunes running. DO NOT SYNC.
Right click in the device pane & select Backup.
Right click again & select reset warnings.
Go up to Store>Authorize this computer.
Go up to file Transfer Purchases.
Once finished, right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you made when we started.
This needs to be followed by a sync to put your itunes content back on your phone.
You'll get a popup regarding your contacts, to merge or replace. Select merge.
    Good job backing up itunes!

  • Replacing iPad2 contacts with iMac address book

My contacts list on my ipad are all messed up with duplicates, etc. I cleaned up my computer's address book, thinking I could just replace all the ones on my iPad with my address book, but can't get that to happen.
Does anyone know how to do this? I tried clicking the bottom box that says "Replace information on this iPad" and clicked contacts, but after I sync, nothing changes.
I have a feeling it's something cloud related but I don't know how to change the info that's in the cloud, if that's the case. I just want my iPad contacts gone, replaced with my newly cleaned up and updated address book on my iMac.
    Help!

They will sync back to the Mac.
Syncing Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks etc. keeps things the same in both directions, no matter where you make the changes.

  • Problems sharing contacts with family members

My family (me, wife and 2 daughters) all have iPhones and share a single apple ID.  We want to share music, etc. but would like to manage our contacts separately.  Right now we all see a collective list of contacts.  How do we manage some items like this independently?
    Thanks,

    Hey there!
You'll want to create a seperate iCloud account for each device in order to keep the contacts seperated.
You'll esentially have to delete the iCloud accounts from each device and choose to keep the info on the iPhone. Then sign in with the newly created apple id for each device that wants their own account and choose to merge the data on the iPhones.
