Sharing Content in Personal Folders

I know how to create Personal Folders and I can see the access tab for allowing other users to view your items. When that second person logs in, how do they see the items you gave them access to? Where do they look?

Hi Soren,
When a user logs onto the portal, they will see only the content that refers to their
operation(s).
Control over the display of content for any user will be provided by two means;
1. security
2.filter criteria.
Security will be provided via the Access Control Lists (ACLs) for Knowledge Management (KM) in the SAP Enterprise Portal.
Custom filtering logic  required to write the code to provide read-only display for relevant content based on the content category.
So the criteria  or properties to be added to the KM document when the authors upload the content. The custom filter will then look at the attributes of the user in SAP Backend  and determine which documents will be displayed at runtime.
The second option would be : Simply, taxonomies are alternate, logical navigation to folders which contain links to the physical content.
Please refer the prakash blog If you would like to develop a custom filter.

Can I have personal calendars block time in my ical without sharing contents with others?

The calendar attendant is enabled so meeting requests are handled automatically based availability without needing a human delegate to deal with them.
Try disabling it and test. ( Maybe test against another dummy account first).
Letting users place appt directly on a calendar is never recommended, but it could be the calendar attendant is trying to do its thing as well.

  • Copy distribution list  to all content services user folders

We have an Outlook distribution list PST file that current resides in a Windows file server. This gets pushed out the the personal folder of each user overnight.
Going forward, we need to push this PST file to all the Content Services user personal folders (Users-A, Users-B ... Users-Z).
I created a single superuser that has all administrative rights to all the users personal folders. And I can upload a file through the webdav http interface.
with the "Upload" button while I'm "Switched to Administrative Mode" only.
And I can't see the users personal folders while using the Oracle Drive nor
    thru a Network drive.
Is there a way of pushing this to all the users' personal folders???

    Hi Juan,
I tried that but it is not showing the shared distribution list for moving.
I found 1 sap BC office document which stats that moving the distribution list form Private to public is not possible due to security reason.
So, no options for me and to create manual shared distribution list.
    Thanks

  • I can see my external Hard Drive on AEBS and the folders on it but not the contents of the folders

I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.2 connected to my wireless and wired network through my AEBS.  Connected through a USB hub I have a printer and Digital Research external HDD.  When I click on the shared folder I see my HDD and can even click on it to see the folders but am unable to see the contents of any folders.  I have checked permissions on all folders when connected directly to the laptop and all seems fine.  When connected directly to the laptop I can view all files on the HDD.  I can view the contents of all the folders from my iPad when using FileBrowser but not through the MacBook.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the contents of the folders are not showing when accessing through AEBS?
    Help is appreciated.

Did you map the drive? It won't show up in Explorer automatically like a jump drive or an external drive plugged directly into the PC will.
You didn't mention the OS you're running, but what you want to do is choose "Map a network drive" and you'll see the router listed as a network device. Click on it and you should see the external drive listed. You can map it from there.

  • Sharing content with iCloud

Not an iCloud user yet but I was wondering that how do I share content with my friends with iCloud? Can I restrict their access to my files somehow? I would only like to share part of my content.

Thanks. I already use Dropbox at work with my work-PC. I was just wondering iCloud for purely personal use since I'm using mac at home. I have no real need to share content with myself but sharing content with other people would seem more useful to me. I'm lazy so I would like to have just one unified cloudservice that would contain all my iTunes purchases and personal files. And since the content is already on cloud then why not share it with my friends. I think it would be quite easy to manage access rights between different Apple ID's. I think this feature would add value to iCloud because right now I am able to sync content between different devices quite easily even without iCloud so it seems a bit useless to me.

  • How to delete personal folders of users?

I deleted a user from Weblogic Console. But the personal folder was still there from Catalog Manager. While I tried to delete the folder, it said I didn't have sufficient permission. I login with Weblogic which has BIAdministrator role.
How can I deleted and opened the user's personal folders?

    HI,
Which user you have admin privileges then try to login that user.
    Try to login weblogic user.
    OR,
You can remove folders using ftp software (Winscp).
Login Winscp then go to the Below path and delete the folders manually.

  • Finder gets stuck when reading contents of large folders on a SMB-share

Hai thar, everyone. Recently I've found a sad bug in the world's most advanced OS. I wonder why it was left almost unnoticed as I was unable to find out some info on it so I created this topic in hope to turn attention to this issue when no solution is available right now by far. In short, bug consists in Finder's misbehaviour when it reads contents of big folders on a mounted SMB-shares like stated in the title. Number of files - somewhat around 11-12 thousands/folder. What't interesting, when one goes to the shared folder which contains not much files (below critical limit) - everything's just fine. When one opens a "bomb"-folder, Finder does nothing. It won't display folder's contents and moreover, it won't display contents of other folders on the share anymore, however, it's still able to show up contents of those folders you have visited just before opening "bomb"-folder. Probably it simply has  the contents of visited folders cached somewhere. The second consequence, connection to the SMB-share seems to degrade. Speed drops to miserable numbers and case you open some big file from the share theres a chance that it'll be loaded slowly. It's not that hot idea in fact, to load network by watching videos directly from the SMB-server =) but if you do open a movie, playback will be jerky as **** while it was perfect just before you poked the "bomb" and current traffic is very little - a few kbps/~100bps (according to Activity Monitor). As stated before, stuck Finder seemingly affects overall connection to the SMB-server in some strange manner. FS notifications get broken too, on the share.
In general Finder proceeds functioning. It has no problems with local FS/other kinds of remote FS, but SMB. It looks like theres a stuck thread serving requests to for the file objects on the SMB-share which actually gets stuck or does extremelly slowly.
The workaround is pretty simple and straight forward - you have to restructurize your "bomb"-folders by splitting them into several subfolders or such. Simply get rid of that huge heap of files stored in a single folder, fragment them and keep their number below 10k/folder. However, this is not a fix. It's only workaround. Fix should follow, as this issue is not only a "little inconvenience" but also a software flaw.
This bug affects at least OS X 10.7.5 (11G63). Something similar was seen also on OS X 10.6.6

PS: sorry for my broken English.

    Reporting the same problem.
    1. Have Windows 7 MediaCenter with file sharing set up properly (LM+NTLM Authentication allowed and 128-bit encryption disabled in security policies).
    2. Test folder ("C:\income") and all the subfolders' owner is 'Guest', full access is granted for everyone.
    3. Connecting to MediaCenter from MacBook with Finder by pressing Cmd+K and typing smb://ip-addr/income
    4. Finder connects successfully, but some sub-folders and files are not being listed.
    Workaround:
    5. You can open a not-listed folder directly by pressing Cmd+K and typing smb://ip-addr/income/some-invisible-folder
    6. Voila! You're inside invisible folder.
In the meantime, i can see all the sub-folders on a Windows XP client machine, so i can make a conclusion that all of these 'invisible' sub-folders are actually accessible by Finder, but in some reason are just not being listed on Mac.

  • Sharing content and permissions: bug?

I have 3 group of users in my Adobe Connect.
I give permission to alla of them to view the shared content.
Then i create some folders: folder1 only viewable by group 1, etc etc.
    Inside folder1 i insert 2 contents: 1) a pdf file; 2) a record of a meeting.
    I set permissions:
    - the pdf file not viewable by anyone, except me;
    - the record not viewable by anyone, except me.
If a user of group 1 goes inside the folder1, and he clicks on the pdf file, he sees that he hasn't the permissions.
I he clicks on the record, h ecan see (without problems) the record of the meeting!!!
    Is it a bug?

As a work around, try the following:
add the following to the recording URL /output/insertnamehere.zip?download=zip
take the downloaded zip file and re-upload it to connect as a new content objectDesired Content Folder > New Content
    Set and check the permissions.
This should validate as to whether this is a problem with the recording or just that instance of it. You can also set a custom URL for your recording by doing this. You may get a warning message on the summary page about the content not being complete or ready, but that is just Connect being angry about not knowing where the recording came from.

Both my iPad and iPhone have ios8

    UDPATE:
Spoke with Express lane, and issue was escalated.  Kudos to the support guys that handled this one (Brian and Yi).  Went through everything in detail and took all the crash dumps off the iphones and ipads to send to engineering.
After backing up the contacts, the recommendation was to delete all contacts in  iCloud.  Doing that caused my iCloud to crash (in the browser), so more crash dumps were sent to apple.
Eventually got all contacts deleted, then did a resync.  Looks like IOS devices are coming back to life and syncing again.
Also, Outlook iCloud connector has just been updated to ver 1.0.1 so i installed that on their recommendation.
    BOTTOM LINE workaround:
    1. Backup contacts
    2. Delete contacts in iCloud
    3. Delete accounts on IOS devices
    4. Recreate accounts on IOS devices.
Hoping a real root cause can be found and real fix implemented.  This has caused me to doubt the stability of iCloud, so i will procees with caution.

  • Can I set up personal folders in Mail?

Can I set up personal folders in mail like I do in yahoo mail or outlook? I have multiple clients at a time and would like to set up folders for each one. I find it irritating to scroll through all the emails looking for what I need.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can you now have multiple Itunes accounts sharing content on one computer?

Hi - I was trying to find this information on line but cannot.
The last "big" Itunes update (11.2?) prevented multiple Itunes accounts from sharing content on one computer.  Well, you can, but with consequences. For example, my husband purchased a movie rental with his Itunes account on our computer when he logged on to Itunes, but then I could not download any Itunes content for 30 days when I logged on to my account. I no longer purchase any content from Apple because of this. I was hoping this feature has been discontinued – it prevents households from purchasing Itunes.  We never pirate or steal any content at all. In fact, this feature forces us out of the Itunes universe to purchase movie rentals and music elsewhere.
Not just trying to complain, really. Legitimately want to find out if this rights policy still exists before we both try to rent or purchase anything from Itunes.
    Thanks.

"Won't it present problems if the daughter needs to reauthorize the computer for her own use before 90 days,"
No. The 90 day limit ONLY applies to redownloading purchases from iTunes..
So if she were to redownload purchases from the father's account then she'd have to wait 90 days to redownload form her own account. and the computer can be authorized for multiple iTunes account (pretty sure it's 5) . You don't need to later reauthorize for first account if you authorize for a different account.
More discussion on 90 day wait period - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6094005 - disable automatic downloads so message doesn't appear when using multiple accounts.

  • Migrating to office 365/Win 8.1 from Office 2010/Win 7.0 the Outlook Personal folders are missing.

In Office 2010 I had emails archived into private data file personal folders/subfolders under Outlook 2010. My Office 2010 installation was wiped out when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. The outlook.pst files are still available. When I installed
Office 365 on my Windows 8.1 system, Outlook 365 picked up the .pst and populated the Inbox and Sent folders, but the archived email personal folders are not present, and also the contacts folder is empty. I haven't been able to figure out where on the hard
drive the personal folders were actually archived (in Office 2010 ) or if Office 365 will even support showing these personal folders.

Problem solved. I found a separate .pst file in my backups that contained the personal folders and the contacts. This file wasn't in the Win 8.1 documents\outlook files folder. So two .pst files are needed; one for the emails and the other for the personal
    folders.

  • What happens to personal folders and address book from old email when I change to new email

I got a new email address. I am going to quit using the old one, which was was with Comcast When I cancel Comcast service, how can I make sure that I do not lose my personal folders and address book. Also, if I can keep the personal folders, which contain emails with the old Comcast email address, will I be able to read them?
    Thank you.

    The address book is unaffected.
Comcast is as I recall a pop mail provider. If your using IMAP this is useless to you, so speak up.
If you right click the Comcast account in the folder pane and select settings. Under server setting for the account change the settings to not check for mail. Click the advanced settings and change the check this server to off as well. Doing this stops Thunderbird driving you mad with unable to connect messages for the defunct account.
Go to the outgoing server (SMTP) and delete the Comcast SMTP server. This will prevent you from accidentally replying to old mail and getting an error as the Comcast account is no longer.

  • HT1539 why does the download only show in shared content on my ipad? and can i access the shared content without wifi ( example driving in car?)

I am using the icloud from a pc, and sharing with my ipad ( 1st generation) new to this. I have downloaded some digital copies into my itunes account. On my Ipad one shows under movies and 2 show under shared. Y is this and can shared content be accessed without being contected to my home wifi?

I did a little bit more research, and if I go into iTunes and choose to display TV Shows and Movies as a List, I get a nice, sortable list of movies and shows to which I can add columns. A column that you can add is called "iCloud Status."
This column shows either Purchased or Ineligible for all of the titles. And this is where things get really confusing.
Sure enough, the items that are "missing" from the iPads, iPhone, Apple TV, etc. are the Ineligible items, but that's not the confusing part. What IS confusing is which items are Ineligible.
A good example is my Deadliest Catch collection -- I own the entire season 3 and 4 of DC; season 3 is Purchased and Season 4 is Ineligible. Back to the Big Bang Theory, I have five episodes from Season 4 -- 3 are Ineligible and 2 are Purchased.
It makes absolutely no sense that episodes from the same season of the same show would be a mix of Purchased and Ineligible!
