Sharing different photos on each device?

I want to share photos between devices, but I want to put different shared photos from iCloud on each device. Is there a way to select certain photo events on each device (iPhone, iPad,Macbook Pro) using iCloud? I don't want to sync them with iTunes due to storage issues on my iPhone (16g) and my iPad.
Right now, the same shared photo streams from iCloud appear on all my devices.
Bruce

This is not what I'm trying to achieve. I want to back up all my photo events on my MacBook Pro in iPhoto to iCloud. If I "share" all the streams, they all show up in my iPhone which doesn't have enough capacity for all my photos, music, apps etc.
I also have an iPad 2 that I'd like particular photos on. I'm trying to keep these photos on the cloud so they don't take up as much memory as syncing them through iTunes.
Is this programing available? If not, Apple...are you listening? I can't be the only person that wants to control my photo content on different devices through iCloud.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

  • HT204053 using same apple id for store purchases and different icloud on each device

Sign in with separate ID for each device in Settings>iCloud, Settings>iMessage and Settings> FaceTime.
Sign in with your ID for all devices in Settings>iTunes and App Stores.

  • HELP - how do I Stop Sharing Every Photo on Every Device?!?!?!?

Why have Apple decided that I want to share all of my photos with every single device?!  I DON'T!!!  There are thousands of them and they fill up devices so that apps no longer work - a totally stupid idea - can anyone please help before I delete iphoto!!!!

You do know, don't you, that your first post gave us absolutely zero information from which to work with in offering a solution.  If you havn't fixed your problem yourself give us the following:
    System and exact iPhoto versions
What devices you're syncing to and how
If you have an iCloud account and if it's activated
And you can leave the attitude at the door.

  • Is there a way to have different photos on each page of your springboard, other than jailbreak?

basically the questions says it all. i want to have several photos for my wallpaper rather than just one. is there a way to do this other than the jailbreak method and i do not even consider that.
    thanks

You only get 2 places for pictures, the lock screen and the home screen ( I think that's the name, I can't remember right now, but you get the idea ).

  • Why is the content of Photo Stream different on each device?

I work on a 13" MacBook Pro and also have an iPad and iPhone 4s. I edited my Photo Stream photos down to a tight collection of 220 pictures and fully expected that to reflect on my iPhone and iPad, however, it simply is not the same. The iPad has more than 400 pictures in Photo Stream. I want to set the standard collection my MacBook Pro and have that reflect across all devices. Any suggestions on how to make that happen?
    Thanks!

I beleive when Photo Stream first started it only sent photos to other devices and didn't delete them so you'll have to start fresh. Be aware it can take a little time for the changes to take effect depending on your upload speed of your internet.
I think to start out you'll have to delete all the photos on each device first which will also delete the new ones from the stream. Make an album in iPhoto on your Mac with all the photos in My Photo Stream. Then delete all the photos on Photo Stream on all devices then add all the photos back to My Photo Stream on the Mac.
May I suggest setting up a Shared Photo Stream for this purpose and keep the My Photo Stream for the new photos taken with your devices. Also be aware of the 30 day 1000 photo limits on Photo Stream.

  • How can I sync Dropbox folders separately with each device?

    Hi everyone.
I've got a question regarding Dropbox sync. Did a lot of search but can't find the exact solution.
I have a MacMini at home, an iPhone 4 and a MacBookPro. My wife has an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2.
We use the MacMini as our base. Downloading, surfing, workfiles, photos, movies, etc.
MacMini is also our main sync operator for all our mobile devices.
    Here is my problem;
I don't want to sync everything in our base folder (MacMini Dropbox folder) with all the devices. Rather, I'd like to sync each folder ONLY with the relevant device.
I created a different subfolder for each device in the MacMini Dropbox folder.
Now, I'd like to sync the Dropbox files separately between our devices.
Videos would be placed in the iPad subfolder to be synced with iPad only.
PDFs would be synced with my MacBook.
Photos and other small files to be synced with the iPhones separately.
I checked out the "share folder" option but it doesn't seem to solve my problem.
When I share the iPad and my wife's iPhone folders, they both sync with her 2 mobile devices. But, she doesn't need the video files in her iPhone.
Can anyone give me a hand please?
    Thanks in advance.

Sync? Not at all, free or paid, not directly.
Move FOR FREE? Sure, why not? Just email your Pages file to Dropbox .....

  • How to Share All Photos Across All Devices?

Hello.  I have a friend with an Ipad, an Iphone 5, and an Iphone 6.  He has photos on each device.  He has backed them all up to Icloud separately on the same apple id.  He has the 200gb storage option.
The question is how can he see all his photos from all his devices on all of his devices?  Photostream is only last 1000 photos, plus Apple just killed it with ios8.  Isn't there a way to share them on all devices?  It appears there is not and that is very surprising, especially after he is paying extra to have enhanced icloud functionality.   Will he have to use a third party solution?
    Thanks for your replies.

  • When I email from iPhoto, separate emails with a photo on each, the email received on an iPad  shows the first picture opened is shown in all the other emails.

When I email from iPhoto separate emails with a different photo on each, the email on my iPad opens each photo attachment as the same photo sent on the first email.  This only happens when I use iPhoto to email.  My daugther was sending pictures this way and at first it worked but now it does this same thing.  Any suggestions?

First try this:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and do the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Second, if the above fails  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the problem persists.

  • How to sync different photo libraries from different apple devices used with the same ID

Basically, I have two iphones (4 and 5s). Both iphones are synced in Itunes as regards apps, music and all documents but for photos.
Each iphone has different photos, being neither of both libraries synced to Itunes or my pc. The problem is that when I bought the Iphone 5s and I tried to sync also the photos from the iphone 4 to later have them synched to the brand new iphone 5s, Itunes was not able to just copy the photos from the iphone into the pc, but rather copying the pictures from the PC into the iphone 4, removing all existing photos.
Also, icloud could not be used because I have more than 5gbs in photos.
Now the problem is that i got a new Ipad, and I would like to got into my ipad all the pictures from my iphone 4 and iphone 5s. Again icloud is not enough due to the 5gb limit.
How could i proceeed to merge both libraries and have them successfully synced in all my devices?
Thank you very much in advance

Also, icloud could not be used because I have more than 5gbs in photos.
iCloud does not store your photos anyway. The photo streams are only a temporary storage to stream new photos between your devices. You could use the shared streams as long-term storage, but shared streams store the photos only at a reduced quality. The photo stream does not count agains your iCloud storage, so that would not matter. (see:  iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ)
If you have iPhoto on your iPhones, you could transfer your photos from your iPhones to your PC using iTunes Photo Sharing, see this Help document:
    http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/?handbuch#blnkee26bc1f
Save photos to your computer using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Tap a photo, album, event, web journal, or slideshow and tap > iTunes.
Tap Selected, or change the photos you want to save (if you are saving a slideshow skip to step 4):
Select different photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap one or more photos, and tap Next.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
In iTunes, click the button for your device and click Apps at the top of the window.
Below File Sharing, select iPhoto (in Apps).
Select the Shared Photos folder under iPhoto Documents.
Click Save To and select the location on your computer where you want to save the items.
To view your photos, go to the Finder and look in the location you selected above.

We have 3 Apple Id's, each ID using an iPad and an iPhone (3 id's, 3 iPads, 3 iPhones). We want to use one calendar on all 6 devices and have that one calendar update or sync to all devices.  We would like all 6 devices to provide notifcations from the one unique calendar as well.  We do not want to share contacts, photos, ect.  Please suggest how to achieve this, with the name of the calendar, if I am to get one from the App store, and how to set this up.  Please talk in easy terms as I am technically Challenged. Thank you.  3 iPad air 2, 2 iPhone 6 plus, 1 iPhone 4s.

    Hello there MizzouTrojan,
If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
    Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note:    You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Does each device in a family sharing group have to have its own Apple id?

When setting up the Family Sharing does each device have to use its own apple ID? I have 6 devices (each person has an iphone and ipad) I was wondering if I would have to have 6 different apple ID's. Also, is there really good step-by-step instructions on how to set it up anywhere?

No, if a family member has multiple devices, they can use the same ID on them.

  • HT1386 when i try to sync, each device i sync to ends up with different amount of information, for instance in iTunes, i have my eric claption collection which has 34 albums. but when i sync  to my i phone, there are only 26 albums, same with my touch, on

When I sync my I tune music library to my other devices, none of the other devices end up with the same amount of music.  For instance, in my itunes library on my mac, i have 34 complete albums.  When I sync to my iphone only 26 albums come over (it is not a memory issue, i have 25 gb of free space on my iphone), on my touch, again syncing with changing anysetting, i only getr 26 albums, but not the same 26 albums that i get with my iphone, again no memory issue. When I sync my ipad mini, my clapton collection tells me I have 48 albums with 340 songs, agin on my mac I only have 34 albums with 421 songs, agan, no setting changed between syncs. on My Ipad tablet, my clapton library shows 340 songs with 57 albums.  By the way if I go into my clapton library and count manually how many albums are on my ipad there are only 25.
Tech suppoert has been worthless, they keep haveing me do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.  Pure insanityl
Does anyone have similar issues or have a clue as to what is going on or where to get competent help in resolving these issuse.

Are all these songs associated with the same Apple ID or were some purchased on another account?
Are they tagged properly? In the library does it break an album out into several different albums with a few tracks each?
Check your sync settings for each device. Do you accidentally have only certain songs/albums syncing?

It would be useful to you if they had a different name, but the computer knows they are different. Create separate sync playlists for each device and go to the Music tab when it is connected and specify which playlist should be used for the sync.
