Sharing Distribution channel among 2 Sale org
Hi Gurus,
I wish to verify if the following is correct:
1. Within a Company code, the sales organization 1 can use distribution channel DC 2 of sales organization 2.
Likewise for Div.
Thanks.
regards
M Russo
There are four kind of Relations in SAP
1 - One to Many
2 - Many to One
3 - Many to Many
4 - One to One
for Sales Org to DC is Many to Many
means one sales org can have Many DC
and One DC can be assigned to Many Sales. Org
one sales org can have more than one distribution channel. One distribution channel can have more than one Sal Org.
Another Example
One Company code can have Many Plants
this is One to Many Relations.

Distribution Channel Vs Sales Document Type
Dear All,
I have a confusion over my configuration process. My customer has the following types of customers:
1) Distributors, 2)C&F, 3)Institutional Sales, 4)Modern Sales, 5)Employee Sales, 6)Scrap Sales, 7)Sale of raw materials and 8)Exports.
Now I have an option of either creating 8 distribution channels and maintain one Sales document type or I can define one Distribution channel and define 8 sales document types.
My requirement can be achieved by both means but I wish to know which would be a better approach. Whether creating multiple Distribution channels or creating multiple sales document types. Can you please suggest me a better method among the two with advantages and disadvantages if possible?
As far as pricing condition records are concerned, I anyways have to maintain in the key combination either sales document type or distribution channel. So i am a little confused over which is a better approachIn normal cases, we would be having different sales areas for the following
1) Domestic
2) Exports
3) STO
4) Institutional
In fact, some clients would like to have Domestic OE and Domestic Retail since predominently, they cater to these segments and would like to have reports based on these. In my earlier project, they had gone for even Exports OE and Exports Retail due to the fact that their major sales is exports.
In your case, first decide whether to go for a seperate sales area or sale order type depending upon the volume of business the client would do. If the sale is going to happen only occasionally in any of the above, then have one sales area called miscellaneous sales.
As for as possible, have the document types to the minimal for better performance.
thanks

SD: Change distribution channel in sales order.
Hello,
I have a situation where my end users has mistakenly entered a foreign distribution channel for a domestic sales order. The order have been saved and the goods issue posted. Is there a way to change the distribution channel at this stage?
Thank you in advance,
AnisahNo, it is not possible to change it now. Best option will be to cancel the delivery and sales order if this order is big one because if you have sales/management reporting based on distribution channel then it will be shown uder foreign channel rather than domestic.
If order is small and goods have already left the factory then you can leave this as it is and may be you don't want go through all the pains. -
Distribution channels, Intercompany sale process – business examples
In intercompany sale process, there are two sales areas. Could there be different distribution channels in these sales areas? Have you seen this in your client/company systems? If yes, please elaborate with business justification.
Thanks!

Sales Org Determination and slaes are Templets not assigned
Dear Experts,
I have a problem in Sales Org determination and sales are templates.
I have totaly 9 branches as part of Project rollout and the determination rule is working for 8 branches where as only one branch is facing this problem.
I have checked all possible solutions from this forum and tried my level best, still not working out. Pls help me .
1) When tried to create a sale order it gives me an error saying " Enter sales Unit" "Enter Distribution Channel" " Enter Sales Org"
I have created the Sales are templets and also assigned them to main templates. And the rule for org determination is defined with the fields, Data Origion, Partner and Source in contianer , which is working fine with other branches.. Only one branch we are facing this above said problem..
Can any one help me in this regards.
VijayHi Robert,
I have alredy created the Rule for sales org determination based on Insustry sector( Contianer- Industry Sector, PArtner, and source) and it is working fine with 1st and 2nd branch users. It is only a problem with 3 rd branch where 3 users are using the system.
Even I cross checked the authorisations,and I did not find any error with the authorizations. Hope you r more clear on this

Sales org. C999, distr. channel Z1 invalid sales area
dear all :
i have assinged sales organization - distribution channel - plant .
but when i create material sales view , organizational level with plant is p999 , sales org. is c999 and distr. channel is z1 is invalid , it message error "Sales org. C999, distr. channel Z1 invalid sales area"Dear Sophie,
This may due to not set up the sales area in the IMG,so go through this path do the settings
IMG>Enterprise structure>Assignment-->Sales and Distribution
-->Assign sales organization to company code
-->Assign distribution channel to sales organization
-->Assign division to sales organization
-->Set up sales area
-->Assign sales organization - distribution channel - plant
After completion of these settings you also need to do the Common distribution channels and common divisions through VOR1 and VOR2 transactions before creation of the Master data(Customer or material)
Now you try
I hope this will help you,

Distribution channel-wise customer sales and outstanding report.
Hi
In our scenario, one customer is direct factory sales as well consignment sales customer also. We created two distribution channel. But customer master record is one.
Now my client requires customer report:
Total sales value and quantity - distribution channel wise
Outstanding customer balance - distribution channel wise
Please let me know if this report is possible.
I tried with some reports: S_ALR_87012171 and S_ALR_87012186. But its showing total sales.
I tried with VF05N. It shows billed amount and does not quantity.
Please help.Distribution Channel-Wise Sales can be made avaialble thru Standard Reports or LIS / SIS.
But, I believe you cannot get the Distribution Channel-wise Outstanding Report from SAP Standard. You will have to go for Z-Report Development.
Speak to your ABAPer & get a new Report developed.
Hope this helps,
Thanks,

Hardcode Distribution Channel For Opportunities
Hello,
I have a requirement where once a prospect is selected for an opportunity and the sales areas are selected, I need to hardcode the distribution channel to a specific value regardless of what the org determination procedure brings back. Does anyone have a good suggestion for how I could do this (or better yet, any other possible solutions that aren't as hacky?)
Thanks!
- TomTom,
Your other option is to modify the org chart and keep only one distribution channel on the org units so that the procedure can never return back more than one value. The badi however is probably easier in the long run though.
Take care,

Hi,
like normal, we run dunning per company code but we have a requirement to print a different sender address for one org unit.
Anyone know how this can be achieved?
Thanks.Hi,
Define your sales organisation as the Dunning area.
Dunning Areas
Dunning areas are used if several organizational units are responsible for carrying out dunning within one company code. These organizational units are referred to as dunning areas. The dunning area can correspond, for example, to a profit center, a distribution channel, a sales organization or a business area.
The individual dunning areas can use different procedures or the same dunning procedure.
The dunning areas with the required dunning procedures are to be entered into the customer or vendor master record if you use different dunning procedures.
Otherwise, the system uses the standard dunning procedure. The dunning area is then entered in the line item. The system enters the dunning area into the master record automatically with the corresponding data.
Thanks

Dear Experts,
What i think:
one sales org can have more than one distribution channel. One distribution channel can have more than one plant.
can the same plant be assigned to a different sales organization?
s001(sales org)->dc01(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)
s001(sales org)->dc02(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant).....is possible
s001(sales org)->dc01(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)
s001(sales org)->dc02(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)
s002(sales org)->dc03(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)....is this possible..in the sense ..can the same plant exist in more than one sales org...

Distribution channel for analysis?
hello,
could you kindly advice me what is the relevance of distribution channel in financial reporting from the Org. structure and reproting perspective.
If there are specific customers which require are grouped together and that distribution channel is used
to group these customers due to various reasons for financial reporting or the another choice or possibility to group customers at the customer level and then perform the reporting or analysis is something not clear which is a better way forward.
Thanks for your valuable inputs.
AndyHi
Distribution channel is an Org element in SD to bifurcate sales data based on the channels in which you reach the customer say Wholesale, Retail, Direct, etc
A sales to a customer can happen through any of these channels

Two pricing Procedure for one Sales Org
Dear All,
Is it possible to assign 2 Pricing Procedure for a single Sales Org? If Yes, How come can we do this?
And, How come will SAP-System determine to use which Pricing Procedure at the time of creating Sales Order?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Amit Kr. YadavPricing Procedure Determination - T.Code: OVKK
(Sales Organization + Distribution Channel + Division) Sales Area + Document Procing Procedure + Customer Pricing Procedure = Pricing Procedure
A Document belongs to a Sales Area. Based on a different combination of Distribution Channel & Division for Same Sales Organization, we can derive a separate Pricing Procedure.
For the same sales area, if Document Pricing Procedure or / and Customer Pricing Procedure, in that case also different Pricing Procedure can be determined.
If the combination of Sales Area, Document Pricing Procedure and Customer pricing procedure is the same, in that case separate Pricing Procedure cannot be determined.
