Sharing Durable in app purchase id

I have a game coming soon on Windows Phone 8.1 with a durable in-app purchase. I'm planning on making this available on Windows Store by sharing the same app identifier.
Does sharing an app identifier also inherit all durable in-app purchase identifier from the Windows Phone dashboard? Or Do I create the same durable in-app purchase under Services in Windows Store Dashboard?
This page does not explain clearly.

thanks

If by 'app identifier' you mean package name, then everything is automatic - your apps are considered one, and any in-app items are owned across both apps. In fact, I belive it just goes by app name now (so any apps you publish with the same name under your
publisher account are linked - e.g. I have a game on WP7, WP8, and Win8.1 all linked together - the WP7 version doesn't share in-app purchases of course).
The only thing I'm not sure of is whether you need to (re) create an in-app item with the same name in the Windows Store version of your app or whether the store is clever enough to not need this. I can't remember!
If you're not far along in your project I would suggest making it a universal 8.1 app. That way everything 'just works', and you maintain a single project. If you're deep into your project it is probably more effort than it's worth though.

Is there any way to share in-app purchases with Family Sharing feature?
I bought full app via in-game unlock button, but when I do the same on a shared device, it says I must buy it, and asks to enter security code for payment method.
All others apps share fine, but when it comes to in-app purchases, it says that a free game demo IS shared content and I can "download it for free" when I "buy" it in App Store. At the same time the full game itself (via in-game unlock) IS NOT shared. So what's the point?

No.  in app purchases are not sharable.

I have 2 iPhones sharing an apple ID (mine and my partner). we have just created separate ID's now that family sharing is available. but the partner's ID wouldn't let her update apps purchased on my ID! Help Please

This is happening to me also but only with certain apps. The message I get with the apps that won't update is "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID. This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled".

  • If I register as the "organiser" for family sharing will I be asked to pay for in app purchases by other members e.g. Candy crush etc?

if i register as the "organiser" for family sharing will I be liable for all in app purchases by other family members e.g candy crush etc?

Yes. Or at least the payment method you choose will be.

  • Still need a password to update apps purchased by another Family Sharing member!

On iOS 8.1, I can enter App Store app, tap on the Purchased tab at the bottom, and then tap the upper-left corner to choose one of the members in the same Family Sharing members, then tap on the "download cloud" icon next to any apps purchased by that member. Doing so, I don't need to enter the password that Family Sharing member's Apple ID.  But, whenever apps, those purchased by other Family Sharing members, have an update, I would need to change the Apple ID to that Family Sharing member and enter the password, in order to enable the app update. Or, those apps will stay on the Updates page of the App Store app, waiting to be updated, forever.
How can the app update of apps purchased by other Family Sharing members be set automatic?

No. To update apps you have to sign intot he account that purchased them.
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
Just purchase the apps with your account

  • In app purchase within family sharing program

My problem: I bought the app Marine Traffic for my ipad. My wife uses this app too within the family sharing program. Now I made an in-app purchase for this app (route planner) but my wife cannot use this in-app purchase on her ipad. When I want to buy it a second time on her ipad I get the message, that in-app purchases are not possible for her app. What can I do, to get the in-app featture on her ipad too???

Is it exactly the same app, and it was bought by the same account that you are using ? If it is and it was (and it's not a temporary store holding charge) then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Family sharing, in-app purchases? (Paper 53)

How is in-app purchases treaded with family sharing?
Example I have the Paper 53 app for the iPad with several in-app bought brushes for it.
But when my partner downloads the app she doesn't get the extra brushes.
Should it be that way or is something off?

Hey my man, the way around this is have your girlfriend login with your Apple ID and restore purchases in the Paper app, then logout and log herself in and everything will still be there! I had the same question 20 minutes ago

Cannot home share the game app purchased at iTunes store. Home sharing music works. Home sharing books works. But, when I try to copy the game app, it says my computer is not authorized. What am I doing wrong?

I've been struggling with a similar issue myself and just figured it out.  Some of my content had been purchased with an older Apple ID that I don't use any more.  When I authorized my second computer, I only authorized it for my new Apple ID, not my old one.  When I tried to copy my library to the new computer, many songs, apps, etc. reported the error "could not be copied because this computer is not authorized".  It drove me crazy because I knew the computer was authorized and much of my library came over just fine.
Finally I selected some of the problem items, selected "Get Info" from the menus, and saw that they were all purchased by my old Apple ID.  I then authorized my old Apple ID on my new computer, and all of my files are copying correctly now.
Would be great if the message said something like "...because this computer is not authorized for Apple ID [email protected]"

  • Shared computer and apps and in-app purchases.

My son and I share a computer to sync his ipod and my iphone.  He downloaded a free app, which was uploaded to our computer itunes account, then downloaded onto my iphone.  I ended up loving the app and want to make in-app purchases, but can't.  I get a message saying I must first download the app for which I'm making in app purchases for.  I assume this is because it was downloaded using him username on his ipod.  How can I get around this without deleting the app from my phone (and losing my game) and then downloading it myself?  Thanks!

    Bob,
Apple did approve our in-app purchase without publishing the folio ahead of time.
I have a new question: Can I change the "Cleared for sale" attribute in the iTunes Connect interface from no to yes before a folio's scheduled publication date? Or should I wait until after the folio has been published?
I would think you could set the "Cleared for sale" attribute to yes before the publication date and it would not cause any problems since the folio is not available to purchase until it's published.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated.  There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

  • How can I get reimbursed for an unauthorized account charge by Fruit Ninja HD Free through In App Purchase?

    Hi There,
I was not able to report my problem through the link given on the receipt. Therefore, I am reporting my problem here hoping that someone will care about it:
On the 2nd of June 2012, I have downloaded some free game apps in the Apple Store using my IPad. While downloading I have entered my Apple ID and password only once and only for downloading the App. The games were for my 6 years old son to play. He does not know my password nor does he speak English. I left him alone for one hour to play with the games I downloaded. One day after, I found in my e-mail inbox a dozen billing receipts from ITunes for "In App Purchases" of the the so-called "free of charge" game titled "Fruit Ninja HD Free" developed by Halfbrick Studios. In total, my credit card has been charged to pay 363, 61 Euros! This is outrageous! I have never authorized these In App Purchases!  I was relaxed to leave my son alone playing because I thought if he pushed the purchase button, he could not complete a transaction because he does not know my password. Apparently I was wrong! I am a regular user of ITunes App Store who made In App Purchases in the past (please see my purchase history) and this is the first time I am abused! Fruit Ninja HD Free is the only app that abused my goodwill and completed transactions without asking my password. I would like to file a complaint about this abuse! And I can send all the bills I am charged to pay against my will! How can I get this game app (Fruit Ninja HD Free) and its developer Halfbrick Studios under investigation and my money back? I want to continue to enjoy using Apple products and the ITunes Store through my IPad, IPhone and IMac.
    Many thanks.

    Dear telwow,
Apple did not do anything to solve this problem, they said I shoud apply to ITunes which I did. However, ITunes in Belgium does not even have a customer friendly call center, and they reply with standard info if you apply by e-mail which have no relevance to my problem. As I do not have hours to spend on the phone, I tasked my secretary to call Itunes many times. In the end, she found someone to look into the matter which took months.
Simultaneously, I applied to VISA through my bank for fraud investigation. I had to cancel my credit card. In the end, VISA paid my money back and they said they will deal with ITunes. I received a new credit crad from VISA with a new number. I tried to use this new card in the ITunes but ITunes did not accept my card because in their system my name has been registered as if I have commited the fraud! This was again outrageus! I have complained about this to both Belgium and the USA Apple/ITunes, but no satisfactory answer was given. I am now using my wife's credit card to buy smth I want in ITunes. But because of my very unpleasant experience I am not buying much on ITunes store. I am also considering to quit Apple all together. This is unfortunate because I have been an apple fan until I had this experience.
Many thanks for sharing your problem.

Well I figured out my problem lol
Email a- original apple id email
    Email b- original gamecenter id
Email c- the new gamecenter id
Email d- the temporary email for switching stuff
So originally I had Email a for apple id and icloud, and Email b for gamecenter. I wanted my gamecenter and apple id to be the same. Well today I went on my moms phone and saw that I was still on family sharing under Email d. That's when it hit me, your gamecenter, apple id, and icloud are the same account. By switching my gamecenter id to Email a, I turned that into my new apple id. Now my apple id is back to normal, and my gamecenter is Email c (I don't use Email b anymore so that's why I wanted to switch it).
Basically, my problem was being stupid enough not to think that your gamecenter was connected to your apple id. My problem came from switching my gamecenter email. So that's how to avoid this, don't be an idiot and think your gamecenter is a whole different account. For anyone who ever has this problem, that's why it happened haha.

  • Issue with Family Sharing and unshareable apps

My husband and I just upgraded to iPhone 6's with iOS 8.0.  Previously, we both used my Apple ID for all app purchases on our old phones.  With iOS 8.0, we turned on the Family Sharing feature.  We would both like to install the mobile app for our bank (TD (Canada)).  With Family Sharing turned on, this app is listed as one of my purchases.  However, it is also listed as "unshareable".  I can install the app on my phone, but when my husband tries to install the app, he gets a message saying that the app has already been purchased using a different Apple ID and cannot be installed on his phone.  Note that on his phone, he does not even see the app under my purchases when he goes to App Store | Updates | Purchased.  However, if he searches for the app in the App Store, instead of a "FREE" button, he sees the iCloud download icon.
Has anyone else run into this problem and figured out how to fix it, or is this just an iOS 8.0/iTunes/App Store/iCloud bug?  It actually does not make sense that a free banking app would be "unshareable" under Family Sharing in the first place since several members of the same family will most likely use the same bank.
    Thanks for your help!

I have the same issue.  I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and they don't have a clean fix for it.  The issue seems to be with apps that developers have not yet set the Family share-able flag as yes or no.  They said that when developers update the flag this will resolve itself.  Meanwhile, if in the app store the details of the app under Family Sharing it says "Not Available" it will be an issue. I found a reasonable workaround for this particular issue by hiding the original purchase and "re-purchasing" as follows:     Disclaimer/Note: Not all Apps are share-able, (even free ones.)  If the app you are trying to deal with is an actual paid for app, you will be buying it again!  Better to wait until the core issue gets fixed, unless you are willing to pay for it again.
    1.  On a PC or Mac, in iTunes, have the original purchaser log in to the iTunes store, then under Quick Links click on Purchased.  Click on Apps at the top and find the app that is at issue. (Hint:  The apps are not necessarily listed under the obvious app name.  I was looking for Colorspot from  SherwinWilliams, and found it under SherwinWlliams, not Colorspot.)  Once you find the app, hover over it and click on the X in the upper left corner to hide it.  Do this for all the apps that are at issue. (See Disclaimer/Note above)
    2.  On the iOS device that is having the problem, close the App Store app. (If you have many apps at issue you might make a list, or take a screenshot first)
    3.  On the same iOS device, find the app and delete it.  (not ideal but it works!).  Once you have all the apps at issue deleted, reboot, and make sure you are logged in to the iTunes store as the secondary "purchaser", (If you are logged in as the original purchaser you probably wouldn't have the issue in the first place, although to me that means going a bit backwards and not really using the Family Sharing program.)
    4.  Open the App store app, if you started the whole process with an app that wouldn't update, confirm that the app is no longer listed.
    5.  Search the store for the problem app as though it was a new purchase (at this point it is.)  Once found, it should be listed with the "Free" or a "price" icon. If it shows the cloud and download arrow icon the hiding you did in step 1 hasn't updated yet.  Wait awhile longer. (Reboot again? Re-log into store again?)  (Also note here, that a properly shared app will show the cloud/download arrow icon and would be download-able without issue.)  If it shows as Update, it hasn't actually been deleted from the device.  If all is well, you should be able to proceed with a typical "purchase" of the item.  (See Disclaimer/Note above) If the family member has multiple devices, repeat 2-5 for each device.
If you have multiple family sharing members wanting the app you will have to repeat  step 1, hiding the purchase in each iTunes account until all family members have gone through the re-purchase process.  After fixing all of their devices, each person can go back into iTunes, click on Account under Quick Links, go to iTunes in the Cloud section, Hidden Purchases line, click Manage, and unhide the hidden apps.  This would be important for future sharing when the bugs get worked out.
    Good luck!
