Sharing email on a pc

I want to set up my friends P3/550 MHz pc to dual boot Win98 and Arch Linux. How would I set it up so that he could read and compose the same email in both systems?

if you're friend's ISP offers imap, there is no problem. Imap has features taht helps you when travelling between computers/OS's/different programs. Everything is kept/synced with the server (mails you read, which not, which are deleted, which folders you have).
Thunderbird's pop-support emulates this a little bit I think. There is an option that mails are only deleted when you delete them from the server. Ofcourse if you have a mail in one program, ... and you delete the mail in another program, it will be still in the first program I think using pop3. That wouldn't be the case with imap ... should test that, but am quite sure. That's one of the purposes of imap as far as I know.
If possible you can maybe also share the contact-calender, although that is not included in imap I think. Maybe his ISP offers something like this for him. I've seen a button to import csv-records or something like that with my isp, but ldap-support would be better.
I use imap myself and I like it. Next time I'll try offline-imap-support. When I use the webmail-interface of the isp, it is al synchronised with my other programs when I use them.
Ofcourse the ISP has to support IMAP or pop3. I don't know why more ISP's don't offer it (I think not a lot of them offer it, can be wrong). Maybe because people aren't asking for it/don't know about it.
Webmail is so popular because you can access it easily (normally) from everywhere (I suppose). If you combine webmail with imap, all programs will be synchronised. There are maybe also other features that imap has. I'm not sure, but one of them is sharing folders with other users I think.
Like mentionned inearlier posts, a shared mail-folder can also be used, although imap would be easier maybe ... no hassle at all normally. This method has teh advantage that the same content doesn't haev to be downloaded twice and he doesn't have to have network-connectivity to have the mail in the other application/OS.

It sounds like notes on your devices may have synced when the email account was added, as described here:

Notes are associated with an IMAP email account or iCloud account. To sync Notes, enable Notes for each account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud.
You can stop syncing notes by tapping Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud, tapping the email address that you added, and switching Notes to the off position.
Additionally, if your husband has backed up his iPhone to iTunes or iCloud, the steps in this article can help with recovering the lost notes from his device:

Cannot select outlook in sharing - email settings - email client

I am trying to use PE11 with Outlook 2013 on Win 7. When I go into preferences under sharing -> email settings -> email client, I only see the default Adobe email service, I have no option for Outlook 2013 which is my default. I've looked around within Windows default program associatings and for sure Outlook 2013 is my default, is associated with all email types (.eml, etc).
I have searched all the forums and the net and am not seeing a solution. How can I force PE11 to see Outlook 2013? I'm guessing it must be a registry hack. I've seen a .reg to add Windows Live, so does anyone have a hack to add Outlook 2013 ?

For anyone still struggling with this, here's a decent workaround:

Install Windows Live Mail and configure a single POP account as you have configured in Outlook. PSE's "preferences->sharing" will find Live Mail as an option for email accounts (you don't even need the registry hack the article above recommends, nor does Live Mail need to be your default email client).
I just email the files to a single contact I've created in adobe for myself, avoiding the hassle of adding contacts in Adobe's contact manager or Live Mail, I get the email in Outlook and then resend the files out using my Outlook addressbook. A kludge, but at least I can email pix now from the PSE photo manager.
I'm thinking that re-installing MS Office might be a solution but don't want to deal with that hassle.

Sharing - Email program

Running Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail is normal default e-mail program. Elements sharing email had been set up with Adobe mail service and it did work but I must have changed something I think with defaults and now I get message that "there is not email program associated to complete action, please install email program or if one installed create an association in default programs control panel". . When I also try to change Elements to make Window Live Mail my email program under preferences it also does not work and says "it could not finish creating my email". Whats the best way to share pictures via email attachment, Can I set up Elements to use Windows Live Mail and if so how or what have I messed up so that Adobe Mail service does not work. I have the Adobe verification code and re-entered it but still no success. Help please.

After working with Adobe for numerous hours on the phone the best answer I got was that Elements 9 has issue interfacing with Windows 7 when it comes to photo email.
Another issue that has just happened is yesterday I opened Elements 9 and tried to email some pictures and all of my contacts are gone!!! Not only are they gone but when I try to re-enter them they will not hold and go away again. I spent time on the phone yesterday with them to an avail. They have "elevated" the problem and will get back to me. I am very sorry that I went to Elements 9.

Icloud backup with shared email address

My wife & I each have Iphone 4 and are upgrading to Iphone 6 this week. I just used Icloud to update my phone for the first time

Yes, you can back up multiple devices to the same iCloud account. make sure the devices have distinct names to prevent any confusion when you use the back ups to set up the new phones.

Hi, The sharing (emailing) feature talks about using other email client but can not??? Why are my tags not syncing for a shared email account? IE One person tags an email as "Work" but it does not show on other users Thunderbird.

Subject says it all for the most part.
A shared email account we'll call "[email protected]" is not syncing tags across other end users Thunderbird. User A will tag an email as Work but it will not sync/show on anyone else's application. I've read that Thunderbird stores tags locally now? Is there a way to sync them up to our IMAP server? Or would we have to revert to a previous version of Thunderbird (if so which)?

the issue is probably that the server does not support tags..... Thunderbird stores them locally, but syncs them were the server supports it.

Home Sharing require a shared email address, or can we keep separate accounts?

If my wife and I want to use Home Sharing, do we both need to set up our iTunes with the same email address, or can we each keep our own iTunes accounts for our phones and computer, but share our purchases between the 2 accounts when connected to our wifi network at home? I'm not really clear on how the whole Home Sharing this works.

It has to be an Apple ID, ideally it should be one of the accounts you use for iTunes since authorisation is required and not doing would use up an authorisation unnecessarily.

How do you get face time to work with shared email adress

I have 2 computers sharing the same email address. I recieved for xmas a new i touch with face time. I can connect with the thrid computer not using the same email address as mine. How do I get the other 2 to accept the incoming calls?

You have to add a unique calling email addres to Settings>Facetime and delete the common email address. Yu need to do the same thing for Messages.

How can I get sharing email option other Adobe Email under preferences?

Using Photoshop lements 11 under Windows 8.1 OS. I can't get the option to use Outlook 2013 to work to send photos directly from Elements. Under Edit/sharing the only option I get is "Adobe Email Service", not Outlook nor any other email program for that matter.

Sharing email between User accounts

Can I set up an email account so that I can access it from multiple Users? I would like to avoid having to go through the same set-up process separately for each User account? Otherwise I have to download all my old emails from the web server separately for each User account. Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
I did a copy paste of the iTunes Music folder into a new iTunes Music folder under Users/Shared. When I switch over to the other user account, I get the same results. Some folders are accessible and some folders I have no access. It's strange as about 25% of the music folders are No Access, and the others are readable.

Adobe 8 windows 7 Sharing email

I have uploaded elements 8 to windows 7 ..having used Vista before... Now my problem is that I cannot share my pictures via email or other means as Adobe 8 does not recognise my email address which is [email protected] (the end user) .. it says that I have to default or something like this I am a photographer and not a computer wizard.. I need to share these pictures ... I have contacted adobe case 181276015 and they blame micrtosoft .. any solutions please as I need to operate as a photographer and Elements 7 used tyo work on Vista but wilth uploading ALL IS LOST.. That said, I think you're complaining that you cannot email from the
program after installing it on Windows 7. Win7 does not come with an email
client unless the computer vendor installed one, in which case it was
probably Windows Live Mail. You cannot email from PSE without > Â
Until you get that sorted out, you could use a webmail service - your
ISP's or Hotmail or Gmail - and send your pictures as attachments. You
could also use a file storing and sharing service like adobe.com to upload
your pictures to, and then send links to them to your clients.

Sharing emails in workspace for Thunderbird users

We have created a common workspace where we store common documents/Wiki & emails. It is very much possible and easy for MSOutlook users (with OBEO) to access shared workspace and review documents & emails shared. However using Thunderbird, I dont seems to find option to look into workspace and see emails archived. I dont see it is possible using "Beehive Extensions for Explorer" as well. Is there any alternative to this?
BTW, using OBEO, i dont see Wiki page details - is there anyway i can get wiki page as document/link inside my Outlook and i can click to review?

If the admin account can log in through workspace it is worth checking the provisioning in Shared Services, if you are using an AD check there is no problems with connectivity, check the logs.

How do I change the home sharing email address on apple TV to a different user?

My daughter was living with us for awhile and set up the home sharing with her email. Now I need to change to my itunes account and email. Nothing on the screen tells me how to do it. Help?

Why doesn't the "sent" folder show shared emails of photos through iphoto? on iphoto?

Every time that I share photos from iphoto to friends/family through the share button//email option, I end up with no record of it in my email. Why not? Where would I see a record of what I have sent out to friends and family?

When you send from iPhoto you're using iPhoto as an Email client. It's a very basic one of those and has no sent box. Neither does it sync with your other Mail applications, so they have no way of knowing anything was sent. That's why.
Options: bcc yourself when you send from iPhoto. (There's an option to do that automatically in the Preferences) or use a different app. Mail, for instance, has a Sent box and many, many more templates than iPhoto. (Check out the Stationery feature)
