Is it possible to share / exchange locally stored forms with another account holder?

Yes - it is:-) When a form is open on the "Design" tab click the "File" menu and select "Export Design File". This will export a file (type is FCDT) that anyone else can import (using "File" - "Import Design File") into their account.

Sharing Forms Object Libraries

We are redeveloping a Forms 4.5 application in Forms 6i Rel2 using 9i database and want to make use of shared object library components for shared code etc. Whilst we can share other library components, every time we try to share any object library components through the Forms Administration/Module Access dialogue we get the error "FRM-10021 Unable to find this module." Of course Help simply reveals "Cause:Internal system error. Action: Contact your DBA or an Oracle support representative."
The owner of any module can still load the object library but no-one else can see the module(s) or make use of them.
It is possible for two different users to create an object with the same name, as revealed in the table system.tool__module but it is still impossible to share the object.
I have searched both this forum and the Forms documentation but cannot find any help on this problem.

Storing modules in database and referencing them from there is not anymore supported in the upcoming forms9i release. If you
can and want to stay at the leading edge you should start moving to filesystem based subclassing!
Just my 2 cents - i know it's not helping with the direct problem, but maybe something to think about that could also solve your issues ;-)!

Sharing Forms, different permissions

Hey,
is it possible to grant another user access to the desing page of my forms but only giving him the permission to view and not the edit anything?
We want to present our forms to a customer by that way.
I would appreciate any help!

Hi,
You should use the Contributor role when sharing the form. The other users will be able to view the form design, but not edit it. Note, however, that they would have write access to the response table.

Sharing forms between users

Hi,
One of my colleague has developed a form in adobe forms central and I want to use the same form. Is it possible to import it (not as a pdf) or some how share it?

There are two way to do this. The cleanest is to have them export the form template file as FCDT. They can then share this file with anyone they like. You would then import this file and use it as the starting point for your new form. The other option is to have them make you a co-author of the form. Once you are a co-author you can duplicate the file in your account and start collecting responses yourself.

WiFi sharing form iMac problem (SL)

I try to share internet via Wi-Fi from my iMac5.1 to MacBook & iPhones... iMac connect to internet via PPPoE. On 10.4 & 10.5 it's have perfect sharing, and I dont know any problems... But now in 10.6 (& 10.6.1 too) its not work!!!
iMac have internet, but not share it. After connect to Wi-Fi MacBook show http://km.support.apple.com/library/APPLE/APPLECAREALLGEOS/HT3821/HT38215.png icon. iPhone after connect show «Connecting...» in Safari. Whats going on???? Need downgrade to 10.5? :mad:
I try to reset, DiskUtility, change WEP/WPA - same problem.
Sometime before (immideatly after I check checkbox in «Internet sharing»), it share internet to 1-2 minutes, then shutdown. But now it's gone too... I\m very very mad. Anybody help us??

I need to know if free account holders will be able to collaborate on forms that have been shared with them and if there will be an Enterprise version available for Adobe Formcentral.

This FAQ goes over Sharing - yes, a Free user added as a "Co-author" can collaborate, the permissions in the form itself are tied to the author, so if a paid author shares a form the form has paid level features for everyone shared with. In addition the forms shared with Free users do not count against their form quota (of 1 form), they can have unlimited shared forms in their account.

Can we generate forms from different locations on same account?

We're thinking of subscribing for the unlimited forms plan. Would this plan allow us to generate forms (and receive reports) from various locations on the same account? Or would each location need its own account?

Depending on the roles each user needs to play, you could have one "Plus" membership that can have all of the "live" forms in it, that user could share forms and/or responses with the other users so they could collaborate in the editing and view responses and reports. The permissions in the form (ability to use paid features) are based on the form author, so the "Free" level users could use the paid features in these forms that were shared by the one Plus membership.

In addition, if any of the free users were to create a form for the team they could export that form as a design file for the Plus member to import and then share. Since the free user can only create one form, but have unlimited shared with them, and since the form rights are from the author the Free user wouldn't want to share the form, but instead export it so that when the Plus user imports it they are the author and when it is shared the form would have the Plus level features (I hope that made sense).
As far as organization there are no folders in FormsCentral at this time.

How do I create a dropdown with three options so that only one is visible in a form (non-flowable)

I'm working on a form which needs to provides three options for the user out of a drop down list. When the user chooses one option, only that subform is to be visible. Two of the three subforms are text fields, and the third subform is a series of fields which are editable by the user.
How do i create a dropdown with three options in it, so that in each instance only one subform is visible? This needs to happen in the same space on the main form.

Here is the form back to you. There were three main issues:
In order for dynamic behaviour, like showing and hiding, the form must be saved as a Dynamic XML Form in the save-as dialog.
While you can use a minus sign when naming objects and subforms, it will cause scripts to fail. I have changed the name of the subforms so that they now use an underscore.
The dropdown had specified values in the Object > Binding palette (1, 2, 3), so the script needs to use these in the if statements.
When sharing forms on Acrobat.com, the best option is to select the file in your workspace and then click Publish. This will make it available to anyone who has the published URL.

How can I print the Smart Form in Multiple Languages like Korea, German and Japneese....
I got a requirement where I need to display the developed Smart form in these languages. As of now it is displayed only in the Language ENGLISH.

Hello kittu....
I would recommend that you create a single Smart Form in the primary supported language (or the one which you're most comfortable maintaining forms). Embed all necessary logic in this form, and design it with the idea that it would need to be viewable in multiple languages .
Then use transaction SE63 to translate all necessary form components into each desired language -- one by one -- and they will all be bound together under the same form name. In my experience, a basic multi-column spreadsheet (put together with the guidance of professional translators) works well as a translation guide.
The advantages of a single, shared form include: consistent look and feel, avoiding dual maintenance for shared logic (or, in your case, up to 10x maintenance), and simplified output determination. On the other hand, a single form does constrain your design and can make for a more complex implementation.

I have two web sites in two different regions running the same app with a DNS Failover that switch to region 2 if region 1 is down.

FormsCentral can be used from anywhere, but to purchase a subscription you need a credit card with the mailing address in one of the countries supported for purcahse:

The partner can purchase if they have access to a card in one of those countries. Alternatively they do not need to purchase a subscription to edit forms that you've created, they do in order to create multiple forms of their own, but by your sharing forms with them at the "Co-author" level they have access to the editing. How do I change the main home sharing computer?

I just got rid of my PC and got a Mac. My main computer for home sharing on iTunes was the PC...how do I change it over to my Mac for home sharing with my macbook and apple tv?

If you are completely taking the PC off line, go into iTunes first and deauthorize the computer. This doesn't really have anything to do with Home Sharing, it's just a good thing to do when you're eliminating a computer that was part of your iTunes ecosystem.
Home Sharing will follow your Apple ID. Presumably you will be on the same WiFi Network. So, get the itunes library moved to your Mac, Set up iTunes on your Mac with the same Apple ID. In iTunes, acitivate Home Sharing form the iTunes Advanced Menu. Enjoy.

can i redirect the responses to my form to a specific email address verses being sent to the response section on formscentral??

Currently we only support sending Email Notifications to form author. I'm not sure which specific email address you are talking about. Is it also a FormsCentral ID? If so, you could share the form to it, and make it as Co-author. Then you (or the owner of the ID) open the shared form and enable the Email Notifications in Options tab. Good point. Exactly why I recommend not to use referenced code. libraries are the only way to go when sharing forms code. Just to many headaches when using referenced code.
