Sharing iCal between my iPad, iPhone and my wife's iPhone

I use iCal on my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4 and my wife uses it on her iPhone 5, we both have our own Apple id's and would like to sync the calendars to each other to make our lives easy. Is there a way of doing this?

However, how do I get the updates to my Mac? -
Open System Preferences > iCloud
Make sure Documents & Data is selected
On your iPad and iPhone. Tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Documents & Data is selected.
Now your documents created with Pages should sync via Wi-Fi on your Mac and iOS devices.
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices
Can I use Pages (or some other program) on my Mac to implement real-time updating without download/upload?

It could be that the existing wire in your appartment is not clean enough to provision DSL only. When combined with the phone possibly it has a higher line voltage and worked before. Now that the line is to be provisioned without phone service it may be giving them trouble that did not show before they came out and ran the new line test. So a new jack dedecated for your DSL line may require a new wire be run to your appartment. Also the account for internet only used to require direct billing to a credit card or something else. This was a number of years ago. Most accounts are linked to a phone number, and without a voice number it adds to the confusion.
If you are getting the voice and everything turned on as before, then I am at a loss for words.

  • HT204266 Can I swap use of music Apps between my iPad & iPhone? Do I have to buy separate applications for my iPad & iPhone

    - Can I swap the use of music Apps between my iPad & iPhone?
    - Do I have to buy separate applications for my iPad & iPhone?

Not sure what you mean. The iPad and iPhone both come with a built-in Music app and you can sync and have your content on both of them.
If you've bought a third-party music app then you can also have that on both devices.

  • What is the difference between the iPad "3" and the latest model

I saw that the "new" iPad was recently replaced at the same time the "Mini" was released. What is the difference between the iPad "3" and the newest model?

The two differences that I can see are the new processor for the 4th gen iPad - the A6X which is supposed to be twice as fast as the current 3rd gen, and the new Lightning connector cable on the 4th gen.
Essentially that's all that there is ... Both have the retina display, iOS 6, same size, and so on.

  • Shared photo stream / Config iPad 1 and iPhone 4

I invite my sister to a photo stream. She has a iPad 1 running iOS 5.1.1 and a iPhone 4 running iOS 6. With the first invite everything was well. She could see the stream on the iPhone. One week later I sent her a new stream. No notification on the iPhone. Since this time, I couldn't sent her invites. Is it possible that the iPad 1 block this? What could she do?

    Found a solution.
Delete iCloud Account on iPad. Reinstall it. Then the shared Photostream runs on the iPhone. So simple.

  • Sharing iCal between two users

Problem: Need to know how to share calendar (and address book) between two users. We both have iphones that we'd like to sync to so we'll have 'home' calendar. It seems like it should be an easy process but so far, no luck.

Right, seems the answer is 'Not really'. You can publish an ical calendar - but that is read only.
Which is really quite terrible. Not what we expect from an apple solution.
2 adults with 2 iphones can share one life and one mac - why can't we build a shared calendar?
    BUT.........
There is an alternative that isn't TOOOO hard to set up.
Google calendars will sync with ical, so if you both have gmail addresses you can create a calendar you can share in iCal.
It's a bit faffy but not too taxing
1 open your gmail and set up a calendar
    2. look under My calendars/settings
and add the gmail address of your sharee
    select "make changes"
this means they can add to it when they accept the invitation.
    3. go to the first tab and select
    /calendar details
    look for
    /Calendar Address: ICAL
copy this address and mail it to the new user.
when they log in they can then use that ical url to add to their calendar list.
    Phew...
This may not be the exact way to do it, and some steps may be superflous - but i now have a shared calendar between 2 people's ical diaries on one mac and visible on two separate iphones as a google calendar (the iphone ical however will only update when you sync)
    Boo:
    1. having to use googlecal to set up or edit events - iCal will treat the shared calendar as 'read only'
    2. iphone ical not updating automatically - you need to use the calendar in google to see if any new dates have been added since your last sync
    Yay:
    1. as its google - it will ACTIVELY share any new events on your iphone - at least in the google calendar (see 2)
So - all in all, a flawed 'pc-style' workaround sticking out conspicuously in an otherwise 'apple standard' experience.
At the moment it seems google calendars are a better bet than ical - this will not do.
Apple! Deal with it please - shared calendars between users first - then you can worry about 'push' updating later.

  • HT1539 why does the download only show in shared content on my ipad? and can i access the shared content without wifi ( example driving in car?)

I am using the icloud from a pc, and sharing with my ipad ( 1st generation) new to this. I have downloaded some digital copies into my itunes account. On my Ipad one shows under movies and 2 show under shared. Y is this and can shared content be accessed without being contected to my home wifi?

I did a little bit more research, and if I go into iTunes and choose to display TV Shows and Movies as a List, I get a nice, sortable list of movies and shows to which I can add columns. A column that you can add is called "iCloud Status."
This column shows either Purchased or Ineligible for all of the titles. And this is where things get really confusing.
Sure enough, the items that are "missing" from the iPads, iPhone, Apple TV, etc. are the Ineligible items, but that's not the confusing part. What IS confusing is which items are Ineligible.
A good example is my Deadliest Catch collection -- I own the entire season 3 and 4 of DC; season 3 is Purchased and Season 4 is Ineligible. Back to the Big Bang Theory, I have five episodes from Season 4 -- 3 are Ineligible and 2 are Purchased.
It makes absolutely no sense that episodes from the same season of the same show would be a mix of Purchased and Ineligible!

  • ICloud keeps syncing my Notes between my iPad/iPhone

iCloud keeps syncing my Notes between my iPad and iPhone, even though Notes is turned off in iCloud on both devices. How can I prevent this from happening?

Thanks a lot, fromsouth, your advice solved my problem!
I turned off notes from mail contacts and calendars on my iPad, this cleared all the notes on that device.
If I turn it back on again, all the notes present on the iPhone appear on the iPad.
This is exactly what I wanted.
Just FYI, I have only the one email account on both iOS devices as well as my PC.
I rarely back up to the PC and the last time I did that was about 3 months ago and at different dates for each device. Yet the sync was happening every time I added a note to either device, before or after those backups.
So, I'm still a little confused about which does the sync - iCloud or PC?

  • TS2972 How do I stream music from shared library to my iPad/iPhone?

I have home sharing activated on PC and iPhone and iPad. Music stored on PC shows up on iPad/iPhone when I select my shared library. When I select a song on my iPad/iPhone to play it is played on the PC (i.e., through the PC speakers) and not through the iPad/iPhone speakers - like the iPad/iPhone only acts like a remote control device for the PC iTunes Player instead of streaming the song to my iPad/iPhone. Any suggestions?

What are you using to play them? If you are using the Remote App, then yes that is the expected behavior.
You must go into the Music or videos App, and find the Shared Library. It will then play in the iPad or iPhone.

  • Can I open a shared document link on iPad/iPhone?

I am sharing several of my documents view other people via iCloud.com. They have iCloud accounts and would like to edit/see these documents on their iPads/iPhones. Is it correct that they are not able to work on the documents on their iPad/iPhone? It is not possible to open iCloud.com on an iOS device?
    thanks
    c

Not with Safari. an alternate browser such as iCab Mobile, with the browser ID set to something none mobile might permit that, but performance will be lacking. As currently deployed, iCloud as far as iOS devices are concerned, is design to inter-operate with specific apps, not a web browser.

  • I can't sync notes between macbook, ipad & iphone

After my upgrade to Mountain Lion, I can't sync my notes / reminders between my Macbook Pro, iPhone and iPad. I am not incline to use icloud to sync these information. I do not seems to be able to find a square to tick in my itunes for syncing my iPhone and iPad. Now all my notes & reminders are in a mess. Please help.

Same here. iCloud signon is identical on iPad, iPhone and mac. iCloud is default account, yet I cant see several of my notes on mac. On mac, some of the notes appear under "all notes", but under the specific account for icloud, it just tries updatimg and then nothing happens. It worked much much better under Lion.
