Sharing iCal with PCs privately

I'm wondering what my options are if I wanted to share my iCal calendars with a PC without having them publicly published. Is it possible to have passworded calendars?
Basically publishing solves my problem now I just need to make them private.
Thoughts?

You may want to take a look at spanning sync - it is a paying software and no am not employee or investor - which I use and so far is doing a good job. Spanning sync syncs ical calendars to google calendars - you would have to create a google account of course, and that is free. Once that is done, and ical syncs with gcal via spanning sync, then you can invite people to view your google calendars and give them either read or write privileges - more secure than publishing via a private server or .mac.
Hope this helps

  • Sharing ical with pc user

I actually have a MacBook (OS X 10.7 something) and I love my iCal. I'd like to share my work schedule with my Mom but her PC is not reading the iCloud share link at all. Can't copy paste it, can't link, can't nothing. She does not have Outlook. Can I otherwise share my calendar/s with her?? Any quick and easy solutions? Thanks.

I too have a number of similar issues. How can I add live calendar data to my web site as only the url link option is there at present. Really need the capacity to share, view and even edit on PC otherwise google wins again with all these options existing.

  • Sharing Folders with PCs on a Network

Hi all. I'm trying to share my music folder with my roommates who are all on the same wireless network. I've figured out how to share the public folder with them, but I want to share a folder that is on a seperate hard drive that doesn't have the OS installed on it. Whats the simple sollution here??? Thanks for any help!

Get your roomates to download iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/
then then goto your itunes preferences and turn on music sharing.
Then your roomates will be able to access your itunes music library from their itunes.
Otherwise to share folders from your mac to pc users the best way to do it is using sharepoints

  • Sharing iCal with/without iCloud

Trying to figure out the best way to share some calendars with a small group of users, some of us have Lions, thus iCloud, some don't and can't upgrade. Used to be able to do it with moble me. Any suggestions?

    Greetings,
In order to share the contents of calendar(s) you need to sync the contents.
If you own multiple iOS devices, simply plug them into the same computer and sync the calendars from iTunes:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
You can also use a sharing service like iCloud to keep all your devices in sync so there is no need to plug them in: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
If you are trying to share your calendar with someone else (you don't have physicial access to their iPhone) then you can use iCloud to share your calendar with them: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690
    Cheers.

  • Sharing iCal with non-mac calendars

How can I share my iCloud calendar with someone who stubbornly doesn't want to download iCloud to their PC or set up an @me email on their iPhone??

    Hi there brucedm!
I have some information that might prove useful to you about iCloud. First, iCloud is a free service, and you can find more information on the basics of it in the following webpage:
Apple - iCloud - Your content. On all your devices.

I also have some more specific information for you regarding iCloud calendars and sharing calendars. This article is an overview of calendar sharing:

And this one is about activating sharing on your iCloud calendars:

  • Can I have personal calendars block time in my ical without sharing contents with others?

Can I have personal calendars block time in my ical without sharing contents with others?

The calendar attendant is enabled so meeting requests are handled automatically based availability without needing a human delegate to deal with them.
Try disabling it and test. ( Maybe test against another dummy account first).
Letting users place appt directly on a calendar is never recommended, but it could be the calendar attendant is trying to do its thing as well.

  • Is there a plain English guide to sharing iCal Calendars via OSX Server Mountain Lion?

Is there a plain English guide to sharing iCal Calendars via OSX Server Mountain Lion? The present documentation is very limited and of no assistance to a beginner like me.

I don't have a domain set up on OSXServer  I just have server.myserver.private. I have no mail services at server.myserver.private. I uses [email protected] (a different server)  as the email address in the setup process.
When I go to share the calendar it requires a valid email address, rather than [email protected], so I enter my email address as a test, I try many other email addresses too but the server responds with an error stating " (email adress) was not recognized by the server.  A new invitation has not been sent.

  • How can I share multiple calendars in iCal with several different people?

I need to share multiple calendars created in iCal with all our staff. Do I enter their individual email addresses separated by a semi-colon or a "plus" sign or how. I tried entering all the email addresses with the semi-colon and when I go back to look at sharing, it just shows one email address.

I am assuming that you are referring to a responsive layout that has divisions that reposition themselves according to the width of the client browser window.
Rather than go into a teaching mode on this forum, let me point you to a nifty free Dreamweaver extension that will help you to achieve this. Have a look here http://www.dmxzone.com/go/21759/dmxzone-bootstrap?utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=link&utm_cont ent=DMXzone+Bootstrap+Released…

  • How can I allow multiple users to edit a single shared iCal calendar?

Is it possible to allow multiple users to edit a single shared iCal calendar? I also want to provide different permissions to those users. Is this possible through .MAC? Is it possible on Mac OSX Server?

I would like 2 agenda synced through .Mac but it does not work.
I have 2 computers and 2 laptops. A very simple agenda with 3 calenders. Myself my partner and the office calender. I want to publish my calender and that of my partner. The office calender I would like to sync so that we can change the office calender at any location.
I set up sync only for iCall and have a .Mac account. When I change anything on any of the calenders in iCall nothing happens on any of my other locations. Even though the locations are registered as synced. I can see the sync wheel turning but at the end of it the calenders are not synced.
At this moment I fully understand the publish and unpublished calenders but have no clue what so ever what syncing does for iCall. There seems to be no functionality to it. It does not transport any calender info over .Mac. There is no visable check to see what is happening and the process of syncing is not transperent. Lots of my friends go to me for advise on Apple issues but as far as sync wether iCall or Addressbook I always tell them sync does not work and I have no clue why others have it working. I haven't met any people here in Holland either that got in working. I suppose with iCall you have to get third party software to share calenders editable calenders. Really hopeless situation, wish Apple would just have a manual stating what sync can do and what it can not. Hours wasted on this issue trying to get it to work.
Hope anyone here can help out.

  • Sharing Internet with xbox 360

Hi, I have my Powerbook sharing internet with my Xbox 360. The connection works well and I am able to play games, but the NAT is listed as Moderate, with a Moderate NAT I am not able to do private voice chats with people. Does anyone know how I can get my NAT to Open? Also, I would like to share my media with my Xbox that is stored on a Windows XP computer. I followed all the steps given at www.xbox.com/pcsetup, but the Xbox still does not see the computer.
Any help would be appreciated, Thnx

If you are using Internet Sharing on your PowerBook you can forget trying to modify NAT settings or make nearly any other adjustments. There are very, very, very few options.
If you want to make adjustments like that you need to get a real base station.

  • Shared iCal publisher moving timezones!

hi, i have a shared ical that is currently published from a iBook running osx 10.3 and ical 1.5.5, in a london time-zone with all the events set to Europe/London, the problem is these events happen in New York at the time they are entered on this iBook (i.e. publisher enters event1 at 3.00pm 02/02/08 - event1 is happening at 3.00pm EST not GMT).
The problem is the publisher responsibilities are being passed on to someone living in New York (OSX 10.4), if i export the .ics from the iBook and import to the new machine i am expecting to see all my events move 8 hours out!
So.... does anyone know how it is possible to get around this, so i can export and import once o transfer the publisher responsibilities??
any help would be really appreciated!
    tom

    Ashish,
If you move the bip reports it takes care of the data model part as well like moving a report from one catalog folder to other (BI Answers)
Post your BIP questions in other forum BI Publisher
    thanks,

  • Sharing calendars with other mac users

how do i share a iCal with another MAC user

You need to be an iCloud subscriber and keep your calendar under iCloud, not 'On My Mac'. Then you can share it privately to other iCloud subscribers (editable or read-only at your choice) or publicly (read-only) to anyone with a CalDAV client - such as iCal or Google Calendar.

  • How to using ical with two separate iphones

    hello
trying to understand and learn how to use Ical with 2 different Iphones, using Icloud.

To sync iCal across computers, the calendar needs to be published to a server. This can be a local server that you can set up, or it can be something like google or microsoft exchange or apple's mobile me. The best bet may be to wait until fall and see what iCloud offers!
Sharing your screen can be accomplished a few different ways. You can have two iChat accounts set up, and have one logged in on each computer, and then use iChat's screen share feature. The other way is to go to System Preferences, Sharing, and then check the box next to Screen Sharing. You may have to adjust some of the settings in there, but give that a shot.

  • Sharing events with Blackberry users

Is there a way ti share an event in iCal with a blackberry user?

There has been reported problems with iPhoto losing some functionality when a non-English language is used as the default for the computer. That may be what you're running into. If you can, try changing the default language to English and see if the sharing will be allowed. OT

  • I want to share my GB track with friends. I have "shared" it with iTunes, then what do I do?

I don't know how to get my GB track to my friends, some of whom will have macs and some pcs. I have "shared" it with iTunes, but then what do I do? I know I can burn it to a cd, but I just want to send them the file. I've been told I can make it a podcast and post it on my Facebook page, but I don't know how to do this either! Basically, I want to be able to send a link to the track so that foks with either macs or pcs can listen to it. Thanks!

    What is your GarageBand version?
In GarageBand '11 you have the option "Share > Send Podcast to iWeb". You will have to use the software you are using to create webpages to link to that file.
In GarageBand 10.0 you can use the option "Share > SoundCloud".
If you only want a place to put the song for download, get yourself a Dropbox, see:  Download Dropbox for Mac OS
In GarageBand, use "Export Song to Disk".
Then put the song into the "public" folder in your dropbox and send the link to your friends.
