Sharing in imatch?

My husband has moved our music in iTunes into imatch under his apple id. How can I get our music onto my iPhone and iPad with my own apple id? Is there a way we can share it?

iTunes Match is intended to be a single-user service that is always signed in. You can not access it from your iOS device without signing in with your husbands Apple ID.

  • Can I have a family Itunes account

I have my own iTunes account and iCloud and all that.
I have an iPhone and an iPad, using iTunes on Windows on my personal Laptop.
My wife has an iPhone and iTunes with her own account. With her iTunes on her personal Laptop.
    We both have work laptops.
Is there any way to consolidate our iTunes libaries and databases into one place.
Can this be done with iMatch and iCloud?
What I really want is to have is that we have one iTunes account that we can access from anywhere and that synch's to all our devices.
that way we can share/create/edit playlists and all that from any device.
Is there a way to merge both of our accounts into one family account or something?
Or will I just have to trasnfer a libary from one to the other and we both use that Apple Id.
Then enable home sharing and iMatch ?
    Will that do the trick?
How many authrised computers and devices can you have on one iTunes account?
    Thanks

    Hi
    that helps alot
    so there is no Merge,
What I need to do is transfer the contents of my wife’s library to my home PC.
then get rid of her iTunes account.
Set up her laptop with my account, setup her work laptop with my account, set up her iPhone with my account.
Set up my work laptop with my account.
that way, any purchased material will be available on all our devices?
So, how do I now get rid of the huge database on my personal Laptop, I want to move it to a more reliable platform, An external Raid Network Hard disk, or use the iCloud.
My understanding is that if I leave my Laptop on at home, and use home sharing and iMatch, then I will have effectively have moved my database to the cloud and home sharing allows all computers to access my local database.
Is this the best solution - it seems very convoluted?

  • Can two people share an iMatch account?

My partner and I have our own iPads and iMacs, I also have a MacBook for work. The iTunes account is mine, and we would like to be able to share the iMatch for our music so we can share our libraries and both access the music stored in the cloud. Can we do this? There is not an obvious way of achieving this, so not sure if this is Apple wanting us to have our own Match accounts or if we physically cannot do this, even with the shared device option or one of us logging into the other's account?
    Any ideas?

No: iCloud is intended for use by one person to keep their Macs and devices in sync. Anyone signed into the account has access to all its data. Separate people should have separated iCloud accounts, and separate user accounts on their Mac(s).

  • Locked out of iMatch:  iMatch/HomeSharing/Apple ID Questions

I purchased an iTunes Match subscription in November (with my Apple ID).  We recently gave our son an iPod and set him up on a separate Apple ID.  He has a separate log-in on our computer and I used Home Sharing to transfer some songs over to his log-in.  We also transferred over some of his purchased via Home Sharing so that I could save them on our external HD.  Somehow I have lost the ability to use iTunes Match.  It kicked me off and I can't sign back it.  I get a message that the "computer is already associated with an Apple ID and I can't associate this computer for 82 days."  I did not try to set up iTunes match on my sons account.  I only use it for our Apple TV and my iPad.  I don't understand how this got messed up.  I am not happy waiting for 82 days for it to reset itself as I paid for this service.
Is there anyway I can reset it?
Is there a way to know what I did to cause this issue?
Am I not allowed to have another Apple ID (my son) on the same computer? (but a different log-in).
Am I not suppose to type in his Apple ID on my log-in in order to transfer his purchased on to our HD?
    RESPONSE FROM APPLE:
Greetings from Apple iTunes Store Customer Support! My name is Sabrish and I will assist you today.
I understand you have not been able to use iTunes Match as you receive a message "The computer is already associated with an Apple ID and you can't associate this computer for 82 days". I certainly understand your concern.
Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. I'm sorry, but you will need to wait until
you have reached that time period so you can associate a different Apple ID.
For more information, please refer the below article:
iTunes Store: Associating a device for computer to an Apple ID for Automatic Downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
I hope the above information is helpful. Thank you for your interest in the iTunes Store. Have a nice day!
MY RESPONSE SECONDARY TO UNANSWERED QUESTIONS (WITHOUT REPLY)
Thanks for the response.  I still don't quite understand what I did wrong.  I went to an Apple Store today to discuss this issue and all the techs there were perplexed that I couldn't have more than one Apple ID on my computer.  They said that I should be able to have have multiple log-ins on the computer with each log-in having their own iTunes/Apple Id Account. My wife and I have Apple TV, the computer, an iPad and 2 iPods on our log-in.  We have 3 boys and would like them to have their own iTunes account so they can make individual purchases.
So… are you saying this is not possible without messing up my iMatch account?  I did not try to associate iMatch with their device (only my wife's and my devices).
What do I need to do in the future to keep this from happening again.  I am very upset that I purchased a year long agreement for iMatch and have already been locked out for 90 days for not doing anything that I shouldn't be able to do.  I don't want this to happen again, when the timer resets.
Can you please provide me with a solution to having multiple family members who have Apple ID's when I only have one computer.  Do I need to delete their Apple ID account? (seems ridiculous), or did I put this in motion by doing something like hooking up Family Share to their iTunes.
I fully understand restricting one device to one Apple ID account… but not the computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure you can.  This explains the "90-day switch rule": iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID - Apple Support.  You can try contacting iTunes store support to see if they can do anything for you: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • Can Someone Help With Home Sharing With ATV3?

I can't get home sharing to work with my new ATV3.  When I go to the Computers menu in my ATV3, nothing appears but the message telling me that all devices using the same Apple ID will be automatically located.  I have followed all of the configuration instructions and troubleshooting from the Apple help guides.
iTunes is running on my PC
I have turned on home sharing in iTunes and am sharing my entire library
I have connfigured TCP ports 123 & 3689 to be open in my router and firewall
I have configured UDP ports 123 & 5353 to be open in my router and firewall
    I tried disabling IPV6
I can ping my ATV from my PC
    I am running iTunes 11
    ATV software is current version
    ATV connects to WiFi fine
ATV connects to the iTunes store and streams Netflix fine
My PC is Windows 8 64 bit
Home sharing to my iPhone 5 works fine
I have searched on the internet and this seems to be a common problem with ATV.
    Help anyone?
    Thanks.

I've already check the http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2972 and it doesn't help. I did have a similure problem 7-8 months ago and for 2 months Apple techs asked to share my password, and then gave up and reset my iMatch. I didn't have iMatch for 2 months. I wonder if this is the same problem. That time my iPhone was ok it was my Macbook Pros who didn't share.

  • Can I import iMatch categories and descriptions into the organizer?

I own both iMatch (v3.6) and Photoshop Elements (8)
I want to migrate my photo and video catalog to the Elements Organizer avoiding a lot of work creating tags and categories all over again. Is there a way to import my categories and descriptions I made in iMatch into Elements Organizer?

I just tried exporting the existing cloud calendar - which confusingly we've called "Family" and it's been in place for the last 4 years! - and then re-importing it and seeing if it will let me import to an existing calendar rather than make a new one. It worked for a few seconds (I told it to import in to the new "Family" calendar set up through Family Sharing). They all showed up alright - effectively duplicating all family events - but then I had thousands of error messages telling me the event already existed on the server and the only thing I could do was 'Revert to Server' - which deleted them all again. (It let me choose "Ignore" to start with but when the thousands of events clocked over to the first one again I knew I was on a hiding to nothing!).
Going to try doing it about-face and deleting all trace of the original "Family" calendar first this time, (OK to do now that it's been exported)... stand by . . .

  • Playlist From ICloud (IMatch) - Not Matching Itunes Playlist Arrangement

How do I get IMATCH to send playlists to IPOD sorted as they are in Itunes? It will only send them arranged by Album/Artist even though I have turned that function OFF in settings. I do not want to make new playlists on the IPOD. Too many songs to do that and it shouldn't be necessary. I can have those Playlists 'as is' by turning on the sharing of my library but that isn't very practical and I shouldn't have to have my computer on to enjoy the order in which my songs were selected. Apple has gotten failing marks from me for it's handling of Playlists for some time now. Even when I could get it to work under the old scheme it was clumsy and cryptic. I can't be the only one have this problem.

Without a backup of iTunes, or your computer data it is next to impossible. The sync process for music in iTunes to the iPhone is a one way process, from iTunes to the iPhone. However, if you try Google, there are some applications that may be able to help you get the music from your iPhone to the computer.
Unfortunately, you have learned the lesson the hard way about maintaining a backup of the computer and a separate one of iTunes.

  • Can I play Game Center Games with other family members sharing one Apple ID

I have several IOS devices sharing the same Apple ID that my sons and wife use. I have set up a game center account using that ID and can find no way that we can play head to head games on those multiple devices against each other using that one Apple ID login, even if I create multiple Nicknames. Am I missing something?

An Apple ID is just an account that uses an email address and password. It does not have to be tied to iTunes. You can create one here. Create one each for your sons and wife.

  • How can I Migrate/Split itunes/icloud account for a large family now that they have family sharing

Ok, now that Apple has finally come out with family sharing I need to get things sorted out and I think it is going to be a mess. I have 6 family members (my spouse and 4 children) all sharing/using one itunes account. For parental reasons this made perfect sense. Now with the the advent of family sharing and such we have alot of sorting and migrating to do and I am very unsure how to go about it. Here is what we have.
    Myself - I have a 64GB iPad 3 and a 64GB iPhone 5
    Spouse - 64GB iPhone 5
    Children - x4 16GB iPhone 5C (pink, blue, green, and a yellow)
We have had one itunes account now for several years, we used to have x4 16GB iphone 4's and a 16GB iPod touch 4 so we needed it to be shared at the time. We all have different Game Center ID's and Facetime/iMessages are all setup to the phone numbers (aside from mine which also uses the itunes e-mail). We currently have 1 upgraded icloud account with 200GB of storage on it (love the new tiers). So here are the questions.
    1) How do I go about using and isolating all the devices so they can all use the iCloud storage? Right now if I try and setup backups by device under the what to backup there is no simple "Full Backup" option, they have all the categories separated. I cannot backup my daughters contacts without forcing a merging of them and so on. Same thing with Documents and Data. Would I need to setup a different iCloud account for each device now?
    2) iTunes Music/App purchases. Now that they have a family sharing function I am assuming it would be a good time to separate all the devices (aside from my personal iPad/iPhone). If I understand correctly we need to setup a new itunes account for each and link them with family sharing, does this then allow us to disperse/move items from a singular to the multiple account (at least a one time option to move around) or would it simply be shared off the original account? My daughter for example will be 18 next summer and as such no longer under our care. How do we move her items to her account? She has a lot of purchased Music. Now keep in mind I am talking about an account for someone who was 12 when she had her first device and as such needed to be under her parents.
I just want to state that repurchasing things is NOT an option, and to be frank,  according to Canadian laws pertaining to *licensing* we actually own the product if we paid for it and have the right to transfer the ownership thereof. This issue went through the courts regarding used copies of OEM editions of Microsoft Windows several years ago and they closed the legal *license* vs ownership separation.

Go to appleid.apple.com to manage the ID, sign in and select to the Name, ID and Email Addresses section, then change the birth date on the bottom right.  At the present time you may not be able to enter the correct birth date, but others have had success changing the year to 2000, or the date to 1/1/2001, both of which will have child ID status.

  • How can a family with multiple existing accounts use Home Sharing?

I'd like to use the new Home Sharing feature, but it appears to be restricted to families in which all of the family members share a single user account.
We already have separate accounts for each family member. Is there some way for us to use Home Sharing without abandoning most of our existing accounts, along with all of the purchases made by those accounts? I don't think anyone in this situation would be willing to do that.

Eh. I am not too sure since I have not messed with it much but I do have a great deal of experience with multiple accounts. Each computer can be authorized for multiple accounts. As can iPods. iPods can sync songs/videos/apps from multiple accounts as long as the computer is authorized with them. What I have set up here, is I buy my stuff I want, my parents buy what they want and so do my brothers. When my bro gets something I want I just move it to my computer. That way all our accounts are separate, but if there is something I want I can get it. Also, since the music no longer has DRM, it won't matter. It will play on any computer. What you should see is if you can just do the shared library with multiple accounts. Then if you don't have videos or such, you can get apps or music. Hope this helps!

  • How can I use multiple ipad's on one account without sharing individuals personal email accounts?

Is it possible to have multiple ipads on one account and share info, but also allow the individual users to have personal email that is not seen on the other ipad's? We have all ipads on same icloud account because we all need to see the same ical. It seems like that's the problem. If it IS related to icloud then if we have separate icloud accounts, how would we share the main ical otherwise? Sharing the ical is very important for this business so everyone can access the daily schedule. Of course each user still wants to have private email.
    Hope this wasn't too confusing!
    Thanks!
    Doreen

you could set up the main icloud itunes acount for ical and not have in setup on the devices
and share the calandar with the other itunes accounts on the devices
or only have it on one device
devices have the users indervidual itunes icloud setup
they should be able to access the shared "main" itunes icloud ical account once it's shared
    http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57542557-285/three-methods-for-sharing-an-ic loud-calendar/
if the devices are company owned you could go futher and setup find my iphone on the main itunes account
and not on the user icloud accounts

  • ITunes/Music Home sharing does not work on my iPad Air

No matter what I do I cannot use Music.app on my iPad Air to play music from my iTunes Library with Home-Sharing switched on. The Library name correctly appears in the Music.app source list after the loading symbol takes an age to complete. When it appears to have connected to the Library on my Mac, contents of my Library are shown in the app but I cannot play anything. If I select an albumn and press Play the Music.app merely cycles rapidly through all the track titles of the Album and then stops. Nothing plays. I've tried dozens of times to get this to work, even rebuilding my iTunes Library. Nothing seems to cure the problem. I can connect and play via Plex which is just plain daft seeing Apple designed all the software/hardware but they, themselves, cannot correctly code for this basic functionality.
Also, not all Album cover artwork is displayed correctly.
It seems many of the things I bought the iPad for are non-functional and the tablet is virtually useless. I can't beleive Apple would produce software and hardware which is specifically made to work harmoniously but obviously doesn't.
    Any help, here, please?
I'm also having problems with Bluetooth connecting to my Mac Pro (2008)... Namly, it will not.

While I was looking for another file in my shared folder, I discovered a jpg file named shannonhenry.jpg. All it appears to be is a school photo of a boy, maybe 14 or so. I tried to move it to trash to delete it because I do not know who this kid is, and I got an error message saying that I do not have sufficient priviledges. Anyone know what this file is or could be????

Well Kelley, that photo did not come with the system so it had to come from you or someone else putting in the Shared folder.
Choose the file and "get info" (command- i) turn the dislclosure triangle on "Ownership & Permissions" make sure you can "read & write" and make yourself the "owner"(open the lock and enter your admin password).
Then check under General, turn the disclosure triangle and be sure the "locked" box in NOT checked.
