Sharing in Numbers

I am trying to share a Numbers spreadsheet with others on the web (not necessarily Apple users). Prior to Yosemite, I was able to do this just fine. However, now it seems I can't - indeed, I have conflicting on-screen messages: when I click the "sharing" icon in the top right, the drop-down box says I'm the only one editing on the web. When I click on Settings in the drop-down box, there's a permissions option which I have set to Allow Editing, but this doesn't seem to work. The result is that all my spreadsheets are now uneditable. Is this by design (in which case, Apple is going backwards in terms of flexibility) or is it an error that needs to be fixed?

Sharing a Numbers Spreadsheet with MacBook Pro

I just bought Numbers for MacBook Pro so I can share my iPad spreadsheets with the Mac via iCloud.
The Mac version found and seemlessly opened the iPad spreadsheet. I made a few simple edits on the Mac, clicked Save and saw the iPad version updated. All this is great except that the iPad version has lost its Form.
The iPad Numnbers did warn me the spreadsheet had been edited on a Mac but it didn't tell me I'd lose the Form.
Is this correct? If so it's a major omission and makes sharing between iPad and Mac pretty useless for anyone using an input form. Forms are obviously great on the iPad and even better on an iPhone

The Mac version of Numbers doesn't support Form View of a table. There has been no upgrade of the Mac version since the iOS version was released. I would expect the Mac to catch up on the next upgrade, but we have no idea when that might be.
So, when you reopen your Mac-modified document on your iPad, turn the Form view back on. That's all you can do for now, unless you want to make a duplicate for your work on the Mac, but then the Mac changes wouldn't be reflected on the iPad.
It's not a terribly big deal, but I understand why you are looking for that feature. Send Feedback to Apple via the Numbers menu on your Mac.

IOS6 upgrade shared my numbers and calander with someone else

I downloaded IOS 6 to my IPhone 4s only to find it had shared my phone and calander details with another IPhone user, and her details were also downloaded to my IPhone. These are different accounts and not related. I had to delete all my numbers and hers, and as I was doing this these were also being deleted from hers. This *****, especially as I am a non tech person...and this was personal information. Right now i feel that I will never purchase another Apple product again. Its also deleted my album covers. Every new IOS has messed up something, but this is more than just inconvenience. Apple seem to be just careless despite all the hype.

You should go to Verizon and have them copy the micro-SIM in her 4S to the nano SIM in the 5S. This will transfer service from her old iPhone to new iPhone. It should be possible to transfer service over the phone (to save a trip to the store).

Exporting/ Sharing - Converting Numbers to HTML5?

Is there a way - or a utility / app - to convert a numbers file to HTML5?
I have a lot of numbers spreadsheets that contain popups, checkboxes, etc - and none of it will convert to Excel. I need to be able to exchange my files with other users, some of which don't have Numbers.
Any suggestions for alternative ways to share are welcomed - provided I can maintain all my popups and other features. Thanks in advance.

If you need to share with others it is important to settle on THAT before you develop the solution. That said I am not aware of a translator.

Sharing a numbers file with joint apple id

I want to share a numbers file between my iMac in my user account, my wifes mac mini in her user account and my wifes iPad.
I thought the way to accomplish this would be to create a second joint apple ID that is used for sync'g documents in iCloud. Niether of our existing Apple ID's use documents in iCloud.
I assumed that with the joint ID created I should sign out of my Primary ID on my iMac and sign back in using the joint ID.
However, it appears this doesn't work.
When I start to sign out, in system preferences, I'm asked if I want to keep the contacts - response "keep the contacts". The next dialog says that if I sign out then the Calendars and Reminders linked to iCloud will be deleted from this mac. Not good.
Can anyone suggest how I can get access to the Numbers file from the three accounts or educate me on what I'm doing wrong and what I need to do to get this working.

I have a numbers file and I'd like to allow two or more people to make changes to it at the same time. Any suggestions?

If you share link via iCloud then the recipients can work on it simultaneously through their (PC or Mac browsers) at icloud.com.
They can also download the document through the Tools menu, but then they won't be able to all edit it at the same time.

Sharing 'Pages', 'Numbers' and 'Keynote' to my iPhone5, using the apps

Hello,
I have created a 'Pages' document using the web version of iCloud.com on my Windows PC and expect to see the document on my iPhone 5, but can't find it - where is it located? I expect that whenever I update a document in iCloud, it will appear at any other communication channel I use (iCloud via web, iPhone, iPad, etc.).
Is there any useful getting started guide how to use those apps? I seem to not be able to find some basic stuff:
* how to rename a file (my current file is named Classic Resume after the template and I can't rename it)?
* where is background color for a text or whole page?
* etc.

To read the document you created on the iPhone, open Pages on the iPhone. Make sure that iCloud for Pages is enabled in Settings > Pages.
If you haven't purchased Pages yet, open the App Store and purchase it. You need it on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

You should see a list of available contacts which would make messages appear. Make certain that each family member has their own individual contact and NOT the same one that you use. I find it useful to have each family member have their own icloud email and use that for iMessaging my kids. My kids do not have iPhones, but if yours do, their phone number should be listed as well. For iPads and iTouches, use icloud email addresses. If you need to send a message to all 3 kids, say, you can just add all three emails to the To box on your iMessage.

How can I organize multiple iWorks documents shared with me via iCloud?

I'm just exploring iWorks for iCloud beta (i4ib). A friend shared a Numbers spreadsheet with me via iCloud. I can open it and edit it as expected. So far, so good. The two of us plan to work on several spreadsheets like this over the next two months. Going back to an old email to retrieve the link to each file when we need it "just ain't Apple" if you'll allow me to paraphrase a quote from Happy Feet.
We would like to be able to use iCloud to organize the spreadsheets *someone has shared with us* so we could access them using the same Spreadsheet Manager tool in iCloud that we would use for any other spreadsheets *we have created and stored on iCloud*. So far I haven't been able to discern how to do so and cannot tell if this is a supported use or not. Does anyone know how to do this? Have I just managed to miss it in the hints and help available?
In the mean time I've copied the a link for each of the spreadsheets he shared with me to a folder on my Safari favorites bar. That work around is suitable for very small collaboration exercises but far from optimal for anyone who envisions using iCloud for collaboration on a larger scale. I thought I'd ask the question before I tried to submit this as feedback to Apple.

PS - I used *bold* to emphasize the difference between a spreadsheet I "own" because I created it and one created by someone else and shared with me.

What you want is not yet possible, so you should use the feedback channel to ask Apple to add it. If Googledocs is better at this (I think it is from what I have read), you should make that point.

What is the cost of 0845 numbers when on a UK unlimited subscription. I can only see pay as you go rates on the website.

UK Shared Cost numbers are expensive premium numbers, unfortunately these numbers are not included in any Subscription. The same applies to Shared Cost numbers in some other countries.

Can't remove track numbers from Music app even though they're deleted in iTunes

So I've been having an incredibly annoying issue for a while now, and I can't seem to figure it out or why it happens. I have a large amount of singles and misc. songs in iTunes and I decided to file them under one single Artist and Album, both called iTunes. I then have the track name, artist name, and album name all listed in the track name slot. I have removed all sort by info, album artist info, track numbers, disc numbers, and unchecked the Compilation option on every single of these tracks. In iTunes, the songs are listed under the proper artist and album, and the songs are all alphabetical from A to Z.
Here's where the the problem comes in. When I select the entire list of songs and send them to my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4, they sync fine. However, upon browsing the songs, the first half (about 100 songs) are listed as being track 1. The next 20 or so tracks are listed as track 2. The next 20 or so tracks are listed as track 3. This continues until the bottom of the list, where the last 8 songs are listed as 13, 13, 15, 16, 16, 18, 19, 22. Within each set of shared track numbers (for example, track 1, so 100 songs), the tracks are listed alphabetically. Then when I hit the set of songs listed as track 2, the alphabetizing resets again, and so on and so forth. I can't figure out why this is, other than that some sort of data is still contained within the song files that the Music app picks up and interprets. I shouldn't have to manually assign each of the 212 tracks its own listing, such as 1/212, 2/212, etc. because that would take forever and I'd need to re-edit half the tracks when I added new music to the iTunes album. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?; because I'm totally bamboozled as to where these faux track numbers are coming from.

Ok, I "sorta" figured it out. I was having trouble even sorting the songs into separate albums like iTunes A B C, iTunes D E F, etc. because Music still placed random track numbers onto the songs. So, I went back to my original plan which was to have one album and artist called iTunes, and I forced all tracks to be track 1 of 1, and disc 1 of 1. That seems to have fixed the issue and forced Music to put them in alphabetical order. I'm still unsure as to why Music won't just alphabetize the tracks as they are in iTunes.

Numbers transfer files problem

I am trying to transfer files from my Mac to an IPAD Mini. The files appear on the itunes shared files numbers window, but they will not transfer to the IPAD Mini. I have tried the sync button numerous times. I am running OS X 10.8.2 and IPAD Mini 6.0.2.and attached to the Mac by the USB cable.

Since I have posted this question I have figured out the solution.
Follow the directions to add the file to 'shared files' on the itunes screen. Then go to your ipad. Select the APP (Numbers) that you want the file to go to. On the Numbers page where you select which spreadsheet you wish to view, select the '+' at the top left of the screen. From the new window select 'copy from itues'. The next window will allow you to select the file you would like to load from itunes onto the ipad.

Send a copy option missing from Numbers update

Updated Numbers a few weeks ago to the newest version. Under the Share menu, the option to "Send a copy via email" is missing. The only options are "Share via iCloud" and "Share Settings", which only allows me to toggle on/off the iCloud sharing feature. Any ideas if this is a bug or am I missing something?

A stab in the dark...but my guess now is that this is not a Numbers problem but something to do with sharing on your machine.
Though about Safari and not Numbers you may be able to find something applicable in this thread.
Or this thread.
One test you might do is sign in as another user on your Mac and see if sharing from Numbers works on that account.

I have a uk based number which can be used in various european countries and no roaming fee will be charged on incoming calls when i am outside uk. If i purchase unlimited united kingdom subscription, in which i get unlimited calls to uk mobile, and try to call this specific number, will i be charged extra. Please note that it is given that unlimited united kingdom subscription excludes Non geographic, special and premium numbers

Open shared iCloud document on 2 computers

I think I'm being dense here, but someone has shared a Numbers spreadsheet with me over iCloud, and I click the link. That obviously launches in the web browser, but I really wanted to be able to edit using Numbers on the mac.
I thought it would appear in my iCloud documents on the mac, but I only seem to be able to view it online... and once I get lots of shared documents, keeping track of all the links is going to be a nightmare!
I've tried downloading a copy and opening that, which is fine, but it doesn't seem to be shared, so I'd have to re-share it for any edits to go back the other way, which seems rather clunky.
I must be missing something!
