Sharing Logic project with iTunes

I can't share my Logic Pro X project to iTunes. It usually cuts off the first half of the song. Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Manually use the File/Bounce/Full Project command... Create an aiff file (or Wave or whatever else), check the settings for the output format you choose... and then drag and drop into iTunes...
If you get the same issue... make sure you uncheck Offline Mode (and also make sure normalize is set to off unless you want your output file mix to be bland and flat)  as it may be one of your plugins you have used in the project doesn't like offline mode bouncing...
Also make sure your start and stop settings are correct for your project, in the bounce dialog box...

  • Sharing a project with iTunes

    I am using iMovie 11 v9.0.4
I have imported videos from VHS of my kids and have 2 problems.
    1. Each video is approximately 3 hours, and when I "share" the project with iTunes, I get a message that this will take up to 12 hours to complete (large format) - and this sometimes failes to complete. Is this normal? Can this be reduced? Is a 3 hour project too large?
    2. When i do get a mp4 file created, the audio is out of sync by several seconds with the video. However, when i watch the clip in iMovie, video and audio are in sync.
    I would appreciate any ideas?

  • Any way to share idvd project with itunes?

    hi everyone,
I needed to know if there is any way to share an idvd project with itunes, in the same way that you can an imovie project with chapters and themes etc and then ideally to play it on your ipod as you would on a dvd player, selecting chapters etc.
    Would much appreciate any comments.

Well, there are two solutions to your problem:
    - convert your movies to DVD. Advantages: better quality, menus, chapters.
    - do the movies for iPod, but break them in smaller pieces, so you can jump to the next scene when needed. Advantage: smaller size, can be used on iPod.
Another possible solution is presented here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=791841. I'm not sure it will work, and I'll appreciate if you will try and let us know the results (I don't have a video iPod myself).
later edit: Sorry, I was wrong: HandBrake CAN decrypt commercial DVDs. It's a beautiful free tool.

  • Missing hard drive space after aborted attempt at sharing iMovie project with YouTube

So, recently I tried sharing an iMovie project with YouTube.  I clicked on the project in my project library, then selected share with YouTube from the drop down menu.  I chose to share it as a HD 720 project.  At this point, I had 27 GB of free hard drive space. After the project was converted (or whatever it's called, a process which took about half an hour, and which left me with about 6.5 GB of hard drive space), but before the project was actually exported or shared with or uploaded or published to YouTube (the second step), I saw that it was going to take three hours to upload, so I decided I wanted to share it as a non-HD video, in order to save time and space on my HD.  I cancelled the upload.  I then deleted the project in my imovie projects folder (since it now had the HD logo beside the name), intending to just start over and share the project in 960x540.  Thing is, after deleting every trace of it I could find in iMovie, in my Documents Folder, in my Movies folder, and in iTunes, I only reclaimed 4 GB of space on my hard drive (leaving me with 10 GB).  So what happened to the missing 17 GBs, and how can I get them back?  Also, the amount of space used in order to share that project just seems excessive to me, so I realize that something else might be going on here.  Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Comments?
    Thanks.

  • TS1741 Remote and Home Sharing stopped working with iTunes 10.7

I have been using Apple Remote to control my Win 7 library as I play it via HDMI through my A/V receiver. I used it on iPad 2, iPhone 4s and iPod Touch 3G, with no problems for several weeks. Just today, however, I cannot get the devices to appear on the iTunes device list, and cannot access the library remotely. I have tried all devices while connected to the same network [tried this with three different networks]. I have turned off firewalls and anti-virus. I have rebooted and reset routers many times. Reinstalled iTunes. Repaired Bonjour. Confirmed port forwarding in routers and in firewalls. Confirmed account names and passwords.
    Airplay works fine.
I believe the problem is in an iTunes or Windows setting that might have changed during an automatic update, but I can't find it.  Any ideas? Similar experiences? I know a lot of ATV issues have come up with other users, but these don't seem similar to my issue.
    Thanks.

Somehow, this seems to have been resolved. The only changes I made were:
    1)  I disabled the wireless adapter in my Media server, and enabled the wired LAN adapter. Both are on the same router [192.168.2.1] I have been using wireless for several weeks without any problem. Of all the changes I made today, this is most likely the one that resolved the problem, for now!
    2)  I disconnected my Windows Home Server from the Verizon router [192.168.1.1] and connected it to the Linksys router that I use for my Media server. All my devices connect through the Linksys router, and the WHS box was not involved in any way to this sharing function [it is usually asleep]. As stated previously, I have used the Remote functions for several weeks without any troubles. All shared devices must be on the same router, and they have been;
    3) I also turned on media sharing for the folder containing my master music files, but this is NOT the same folder containing my iTunes libraries or my iTunes media files. This is only an original folder with the largest versions of all my music files [many that iTunes is unable to read].
I don't know why any of these actions should have recovered my ability to Remote with iTunes, but alas, it "seems" to be working for now.
Summary... Try everything, even if it seems completely unrelated!!!

  • Burning bounced projects with iTunes

    Hi,
I’m planning on sending my album out to be mastered soon. I’ve bounced my songs from Logic into iTunes as wavs. I'm sure iTunes is fine as a program for burning the CD I send to be mastered, but I have an issue. When I listen to my bounced songs, I swear they sound different in iTunes than they do in Logic. I made sure there were no EQ adjustments in iTunes and that the “sound enhancer” function, or whatever it’s called, is off. Am I hearing things? Is this just a result of changing the bit rate from 24 to 16? I use dithering, btw. Does anyone else notice if iTunes colors the sound? If I'm right and it does affect the sound, will my CD burned in iTunes retain that “coloration” when played elsewhere, or is that just when played back in iTunes? Even if I accidentally did leave an EQ preset on in iTunes, would that transfer to the CD if burned in iTunes?
While we’re on it, does anyone know of any good free software where I can sequence my songs and burn them? I know iTunes can, but I’m not sure how I feel about using it.
    Thanks!

I realize the timeframe of the OP is old now but...
Typically for mastering you would not dither down to 16bit.
And since word-length expands. Exporting tracks at 32bit float rather then bouncing down to 24bit is not unusual.
If one is doing their own finalizing, and CD burning then options like Peak, etc., are certainly viable choices.
However, a bounced file can sound different from mixes for several reasons. Normalize being one of them. Almost impossible to determine what is going on without being in the room.
All I can say is I haven't had the type of experiences with iTunes as you guys.
Wasn't it Ry Cooder who liked the way iTunes sound expander worked so much he used it for his CD a couple of years ago?
    A head scratcher for me....

  • Sharing a project with multiple RH7 users

We have a project that "we" shared by remoting into a server
that had one image of RH 5.
We've got multiple RH7 licenses (multiple installs on
separate machines). We cannot get into the same project. In fact, I
cannot even open a project and import that one.
It was decided NOT to purchase the RH Sever with RH 7 because
VSS would do the versioning for us.
We haven't set up VSS yet, so we aren't creating individual
images of the project files (which is how it worked in RH 5, with
inline versioning). I'm surprised that we cannot individually open
a project (even without others using it), nor can I even IMPORT the
files from that project to a new project. What am I missing?
The error is "Open project was cancelled or the application
was unable to load dabase for ....<fully qualified path to a
    .cpd file>
I've read numerous KB articles and have deleted, renamed,
compressed the .cpd file to no avail. I've tried opening the .hhp
file (which recreates a .cpd file).
Nonetheless, how are multiple users supposedto share in
editing project files. If each of us must have separate images of
the same topics...how do I "replicate" this in the testing phase
(we're in the process of setting up a shared/versioning system, but
don't have it yet. The only way we can get to the common project is
to remote in to the hard drive and work from the local install of
    RH7.

Hi annonnyma and welcome to our community
We have never been able to have multiple users simultaneously
accessing the same project by simply placing it on a server. The
way it works with a source control system is by having it stored
centrally on the server. Then the source control system handles
checking in and checking out by maintaining a "Working folder" on
your LOCAL hard drive. The end result is that each help author
actually has a full copy of the help system source files on the
server. As they work on different bits, they are actually working
locally off their C drive. At no point do you ever directly access
and edit the files on the server. The source control system handles
    copying them back and forth.
RoboHelp Server should not be needed for source control if
    you are using VSS.
So copy the project locally, then possibly rebuild the .CPD
and you should be good to go.
    Cheers... Rick

  • TS2972 HOME SHARING WONT WORK WITH ITUNES 12

    I CANT ANYMORE
    My OS is Windows 7
    My iOS device: iPad 7.1.1
    My iTunes Version: 12
AND I've tried by all means to use home sharing with the Remote app, but it doesn't work at all.
    So please HELP ME

I have had this same problem since I upgraded to version 11 of iTunes.  I just found today that if you go into Preferences (under the Edit menu in Windows or under File on Mac OS) there is a Sharing tab that was turned off.  As soon as I checked the box in front of "Share my library on my local network" and the checkbox in front of "Home Sharing computers and devices update play counts" (I don't know if this second checkbox has to be checked or not) and restarted iTunes on each computer it began to work again.
I have no idea why Apple decided to have this turned off by default in version 11+ as I had it working fine prior to upgrading.  I also have no idea why Apple makes no mention of the need to go into the Preferences and make sure Sharing is enabled.  I have found no mention of it in any home sharing documentation...

  • Problem sharing iMovie project with media browser

Having prepared a movie in IMovie I tried to share it with media browser at 1020p HD.  After 2 hours of processing I got the following error message.  What does it mean and what can I do to fix?  I shared at the mobile level and it worked.
"Unable to prepare project for publishing.
The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (File already open with with write permission)"

I know what the problem is, it's related to Time Machine on laptops running the 10.7 Lion OS.
This requires using the Terminal app, in your Applications/Utilities folder
To turn off Time Machine snapshots type in the following command:
    sudo tmutil disablelocal
The Mac will likely ask for your password, so type it in and hit the return key. The type the word, exit and hit return. Quit Terminal.
Open iMovie and try doing another export and see if the same error message pops up.

  • Size limits in sharing iMove Project to iTunes

How large (or long, if you prefer) a movie can I share from iMovie to iTunes? I tried one that was over three hours long, and after several hours of rendering, iMovie gave me a message that the movie was too long. I'm NOT trying to create a DVD; rather, I just want to export my home movies to iTunes so I can watch them via my Apple TV. My best choice would be to create one huge movie spanning the entire 20 years' worth of home movies I have, but I'm guessing it would take a year or so to render
    But what is the limit?

How did you get it there? Was it an import from iMovie or other homegrown project? I've got DVD rips that size but I got the error message when I was doing the export from iMovie.

  • Sharing iMovie project with a PC for editing

I have a Miglia digital converter box that will allow me to take analog tapes and convert them to a digital signal so that I can edit on my Mac. Usually, I create a project in iMovie and then send to iDVD. A PC friend has asked me to convert some home movies on VHS but has asked that I hand off the digital file to him so that he can edit to his tastes on his PC. Essentially, he just needs the conversion, not an iMovie project.
What file do I give to him? Do I bother creating a project in iMovie at all? Should I just do this in QuickTime?

    Hi Daryl
Since QT is a cross platform application you can simply share a QT file with your PC friend. Then whatever video editor is being used, he/she could import the file. Perhaps a better option would be to convert the analog material to DV and pass it through to your mini DV camcorder. Then your friend will have it on tape and can import it directly into the video editor used. Having the material on DV tape may provide a storage solution for the "longer term" as a DVD disk can get damaged fairly easily. Then you'll spare yourself the time to redo the conversion.
Anyway, capture in iM and share to play though to the camcorder. Make sure the camcorder settings are set to 16 bit so you won't later get audio/video drifting out of sync.
    Regards
    Carl

  • Can I share a movie project with iTunes on my Mac and iTunes on my PC?

I have created a movie with iMovie. If I import it to iTunes, can I take that file (ie USB stick) and import it into iTunes on a PC?

    Yes you can.
When you install iTunes for Windows, you should also install QuickTime for Windows. As long as you have QuickTime installed on your windows machine, it should be able to play your movies. I suggest you test it though.
