Sharing notes on icloud

How can I share a note on icloud with another person and allow that person to edit it?

You can't share notes using iCloud short of sharing your iCloud account with the other person.  If you have Pages, you could collaborate on a Pages document using iCloud (see http://help.apple.com/pages/icloud/1/#/gile83665246).  Otherwise, you'll have to use an alternative service like Dropbox.

  • Keeping an unlocked 3GS and new iPhone 5 on same iTunes, what/how can apps be shared if not using iCloud?

I have researched having two phones on the same account and keeping apps/music/contacts/etc.separate, but have not yet found a thread specific to NOT keeping everything separate but the same across phones; should be pretty simple, but simple sometimes isn't. Thanks in advance for your input!
My husband and I are electing to keep our 3GS' (unlocked) so when we travel internationally we can pop a sim in from the country we are in, mainly for data. (In one country we can get 500MB for 10 Euros versus the $25/100MB my carrier will charge with the iPhone 5.) At least that is what we hope...
    Couple questions:
    1. Once the cell number/service on the 3GS is transfered to the 5, the 3S will become basically an iPod touch until a new sim is in place, correct? We can still use wi-fi and the apps on the phone, and still be able to sync to iTunes, correct? iOS has been upgraded to 6.
1a. With a new Sim, any issue with losing any data/apps on the phone? I dont' think so.
    2. Once the 5 is activated on the new carrier, how do I share the apps within iTunes? Is it as easy as using iCloud (which we haven't "activated" yet) and/or plugging both phones into iTunes and transferring between devices (authorizing both)? Photos? There are photos on the 3S that we will need on the 5.
    3. Reverse order for new apps purchased (understand that not all the iphone 5 apps will work on the 3GS)?
    4. My husband also has a new iPad, any complications there with three devices? To date, he has not "shared" apps between his 3S and the iPad. He does not have iCloud set up, but plugs into his computer to backup and transfer photos.
Agian, thanks for your thoughts and any tips you can give me. Over the last three years with the 3GS, I have had to rebuild my phone twice and while most of the items were recovered, I am leery of throwing the 5 into the mix!

    1. Yes. without a sim it has no service, but all other features should be useable normally.
1.a Nope, Data and Apps are independent of the Sim.

    2. As long as both Phones use the same Apple ID, the applications can be synced to each through iTunes. Also any downloads on one phone should appear in the other. Again as long as both phones are using the same Apple ID.
    3. Reverse order for new apps purchased (understand that not all the iphone 5 apps will work on the 3GS)?
    3. If they can be run on the iPhone3GS they should be synced automatically.
    4. My husband also has a new iPad, any complications there with three devices? To date, he has not "shared" apps between his 3S and the iPad. He does not have iCloud set up, but plugs into his computer to backup and transfer photos.
    4. If all 3 Devices share the same Apple ID all should be synced.
As a word of warning, if all 3 devices use the same Apple ID, messages recieved using iMessage will appear on all 3 devices.
And Conctacts may get overwritten if synced to iCloud (thogh you say he doesn't have one), or merged together.

  • Is there a recovery way if the device did not have icloud but another device shared an itune account

Our daughter's ipod touch was stolen at school.  We did not have icloud app on that device but our other daughter has
a matching ipod touch....both shared an itunes account.  Is there anything that we can do to locate the stolen ipod?  or

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think there is anything you can do unfortunately. Sorry.

  • Shared diary on iCloud not appearing properly on iPhone

I have set up a shared diary on iCloud, I can see it on my phone. I can see entries on my iCloud view on laptop but when looking on the phone you cannot see the entry until you click on the day. Is there a way to highlight each entry so at a glance I can see what days have an entry?
    does that make sense?

  • Family sharing not sharing payment information

Family sharing not sharing payment information
We have two iPhones on iOS 8. Previously my Apple ID was logged into my wife's phone for iTunes and app purchases to share purchases (she's had her own apple is for iCloud all along) . I set up family sharing, on my phone first. I'm the organizer. I invited my wife, switched her Apple ID in settings in iTunes and app purchases to her own Apple ID. Both of us can see we are in the family in iCloud settings. But in the iTunes part it looks like normal, with seperate accounts. If we view purchase in the App Store both accounts are listed (and looks like both accounts show all the same apps that I've purchased previous to setting this up).
    Is that right?
More importantly when I go to make an iTunes purchase on my wife's phone, it doesn't try to use any shared payment. It wants to update HER credit card on her account.
My phone says the credit card is shared.
What setting have I missed here?
And I keep seeing this question asked but no clear answer. Will she loose access to any apps or music purchased before the family? They all show under her account now. Apple said somewhere that a legacy account would be allowed. I'm afraid to play too much with it after hearing people are getting locked out for a year.
    Thanks for any help!!

Your purchases will be charged against the Organizer's charge card on file, but they will reside under the Apple ID that you are purchasing them under (so if later, you were to leave Family Sharing, they would be "owned" by your Apple ID). If you have a gift card on file for your Apple ID, it will take the funds from the gift card first before going to the Organizer's charge card, but the entire set-up of Family Sharing is one that is designed to charge all purchases against the Organizer's card on file.
How is the set-up invasive, exactly? Family Sharing is primarily designed for families, especially ones with small children. The FAQs and ad pages are very clear about the fact that the Organizer pay for all purchases:

  • Sharing photos on iCloud

I shared some photos recently with streaming with my sisters.  I tried to add some photos and resend them as sharing through streaming, and it comes up with this:
Does this mean my email username and password or what.  I haven't changed anything since the last time, and I have also signed into my email through the internet web site so as to enter my email and password to see that it is the one that works, and it does, so I don't know what to do about this.
    <Email Edited By Host>

I never had MobileMe, but I have used the sharing feature in iCloud.  The official name is called "Shared Photo Streams".  It will only be viewable by someone running iOS 6 or later and the latest version of iPhoto (it may work on PC, but not sure).
    Set up on Mac:
    1) Open iPhoto
    2) On the left toolbar, select "Photos"
    3) Select all the photos you want to share
    4) Select "Share" at the bottom left of the window
    5) Click Photo Stream
    6) Here you can add them to an existing Photo Stream or create a new one
For a new one, just finish following the on screen instructions
Set up on iOS device (requires 6.0 or later):
    1) Go to the Photos app
    2) Select "Photos" from the toolbar at the top
    3) Click "Edit" at the top right
    4) Select the photos you wish to share
    5) Click "Share"
    6) Click "Photo Stream"
    7) Here you can add the selected photos to an existing Photo Stream or create a new one.
For a new one, follow the rest of the on screen instructions

  • Sharing content with iCloud

Not an iCloud user yet but I was wondering that how do I share content with my friends with iCloud? Can I restrict their access to my files somehow? I would only like to share part of my content.

Thanks. I already use Dropbox at work with my work-PC. I was just wondering iCloud for purely personal use since I'm using mac at home. I have no real need to share content with myself but sharing content with other people would seem more useful to me. I'm lazy so I would like to have just one unified cloudservice that would contain all my iTunes purchases and personal files. And since the content is already on cloud then why not share it with my friends. I think it would be quite easy to manage access rights between different Apple ID's. I think this feature would add value to iCloud because right now I am able to sync content between different devices quite easily even without iCloud so it seems a bit useless to me.

  • ICal Shared Not Appearing on iOS Devices But Do In Macs' iCals

I am running Mountain Lion, but this issue was also happening in Lion. As a former Apple Specialist who specialized in iCloud, I've stumped myself and several AppleCare reps. They have forwarded this on to the engineers.
I have three calendars that I share from iCal to my family's iOS devices and Macs. The calendars are updating fine on all Macs, but are not updating on any iOS devices. They used to update slower, but it's gone to nothing.
I've tried everything under the sun including:
    1. Turning iCloud on and off on each device AND on my Mac.
    2. Restoring the iPhones as new phones
    3. Exporting the calendar, importing it as a new calender and sharing it. Still doesn't update after the initial setup.
    4. Quitting the Calendar on the iOS device and reopening it and restarting the iPhone.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I've totally stumped Apple. And remember Steve said, "It just works." It's not.

    Colleen,
Considering your expertise, and all the resources you have accessed, I am hesitant to offer suggestions.
If you have not used iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar, I have often found it to be helpful.

  • Family sharing not appearing

I updated to Yosemite and still do not have Family Sharing appearing under iCloud system preferences or in iTunes.
Everything on my computer is up to date. I cannot find any help for this when I search on apple webpage.
The only help says I should find it under Apple-System Preferences-iCloud-Manage Family but nothing to do with family sharing is there.

It's fixed. You should be able to see historical purchases.  For me, the issue lies in an issue that I don't believe Apple has ever addressed--my itunes/App Store ID predates my icloud ID and Apple has never come out with a tool or process to roll everything into the icloud id. This fixed the issue for me: while my correct itunes ID appeared within itunes/App Store settings and my music/app purchases appeared, I logged out and logged back in. Afterwards, my partner's purchases now appear in both the itunes and app windows. The dual username for those two services has caused me several headaches over the years and I wish there were some way to consolidate them.

  • How to move notes to icloud notes

I need to know how to copy all the contents in my regular Notes to iCloud Notes as well as
    Notes in my Outlook.
    Thank you,
    Appletomk

I finally solved the problem. I upgraded all of my stuff  to Snow Leopard. Now, I can have some notes local and others on me.com. It really wasn't worth it "living on the edge" with Mountain Lion -- especially with a work machine.
For anybody else thinking of going bacl to SnapLeoppard from Mountain Lion it was fairly painless. Here are a few pointers:
I was able to archive email boxes in Mountain Lion and import them into Snow Leopard with no problem.
If you keep around a Moutain Lion partition you can easily move documents back to your SL disk using the SL finder.
Moving notes was a not as bad as I though. I simply shared  all the new notes in ML and emailed them to myself. You have to do one Note as a time which wa a bit of a drag though. However, from SL you just drag the email messages into the Notes and they are fully usable. I did go an copy them one by one into real notes, biut I'm not sure that that is necessary.

  • Where do I store my iDisk shared documents on iCloud?

Mobileme states that I need to remove iDisk files before June 30th but, Where do I store my iDisk shared documents on iCloud?
As a loyal user and paid subscriber of mobileme since inception, I'm a bit confused.

Unfortunately, iCloud  does not offer an alternative to MobileMe's iDisk. You will need to find a third-party solution such as dropbox or sugarsync.

  • I created a folder from my camera roll and shared with my icloud acct, can't figure out how to access it from my computer?

I created a folder from my camera roll and shared with my icloud acct, can't figure out how to access it from my computer? I log onto icloud and can't find anywhere where "shared" photos are..

You need Mountain Lion (10.8.2 or higher) and iPhoto '11 (9.4 or higher) or Aperture 3.4 to get shared photo streams on Mac.
Another option to transfer them is to either import them to iPhoto using your usb cable, as explained here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, or to us an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your Mac over your wifi.  (PhotoSync will also transfer albums, not just photos from the camera roll.)

  • How do I share Outlook Notes on icloud?

There are Notes synch options on the ipad, but not on icloud on the PC?  Has anyone sorted this?

To all who have read this post and had trouble getting just the basics, you can't use only your iPad/2 to share calendars.  The sharing is enabled on your Mac/PC at www.icloud.com.  Sign in at this web site, enter your ID and password.  An icon appears for every type of item you've chosen to be included in icloud when you picked your settings on your ipad.  For calendars, click on the calendar icon.  There, the icloud calendar I set up on my iPad2 was now in a list at icloud.com.  To the right of that calendar name was a set up/options button.  Pressing that opened up a number of options, one of which was to share this calendar with other users.  Pretty simple and worked well.
