Now that File Sharing is available. Two questions abou the new feature.
Question 1 - If you have an individual subscription, can you share your files with someone else who has Creative Cloud subscription such as design agency?
Question 2 - If you have a Team subscription can each member choose which files they sync so they don't sync everything all the time but still have access to the entire team files?

    No to both, unfortunately.

  • Question about reinstalling OS and getting applications back.

I want to restore my macbook pro using the disk that came with the computer to make it run faster. It seems to be bogged down recently. I also want to keep the applications that are on my computer, but several install disks were destroyed in a flood that hit last summer. How can I keep these applications, while cleaning out the rest of the system to make it run faster than it is now.
    Thanks!!

Unlike some other OSs, that's unlikely to help.

You may not be able to. Even if you use +Setup Assistant+ or +Migration Assistant,+ some apps cannot be transferred properly, especially some of Adobe's. See: [Transferring Applications|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/TransferApps.html].
A full restore from your Time Machine backups should be ok, but that will bring back everything, thus even less likely to help.

Your best bet, by far, is to address the problem directly. As Kiraly, a frequent poster here, says, if your kitchen faucet leaks, don't start by tearing out the entire kitchen -- start by replacing the washer.
First, is there at least 15% free space on your internal HD? If not, that may be the problem right there.
If there is, start with this: [Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509]. Run the Extended tests.
If that doesn't show problems, Verify your internal HD, per #6 in [Formatting, Partitioning, Verifying, and Repairing Disks|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/DU.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Using Snow Leopard+ forum).
Then +*Repair Permissions+* on it, per #5 there.
If you really suspect your installation of OSX, I'd suggest downloading and installing the 10.6.6 "combo" update. That's the cleverly-named combination of all the updates to Snow Leopard since it was first released, so installing it should fix anything that's gone wrong since then, such as with one of the normal "point" updates. Info and download available at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349 Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) afterwards.
If that doesn't help, reinstall OSX from your Snow Leopard Install disc (that won't affect anything else), then apply the "combo" again.
If still no help, peruse this: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/performance.html

  • Question about reinstalling Leopard

I just did an erase and install of Leopard... but I made the mistake of using Monolingual to remove every language but English... a mistake because now I cannot upgrade Office (and from what I've been reading also some Adobe apps).
My question is this... can I just run the install of leopard again and not lose data, settings etc in all my apps? And what about the apps like Photoshop, iWork, and Office that had to be installed manually... will they still be in in working order after a re-install?
    thanks,
    tom

No, reinstalling OS X won't help because it does not affect Office or Adobe products. You have to uninstall Office and all the Adobe applications. Then reinstall them from their respective installer discs. You will then be able to upgrade them.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
    AppZapper
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Error after update attempt - question on reinstalling

I tried to update iTunes this weekend and I got an error doing so.  Now ever time I try to start it I get an error (something about illegal access of the C runtime library, IIRC).  I've tried to "repair" but that gives the same result.  I'm thinking I'm going to have to remove and reinstall from scratch.
I just wanted to confirm that doing this will NOT affect my library, playlists, or any of that.  Once I reinstall everything should be back the way it is now, right?

    Hi Girevik,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take for the error you're seeing:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
For the step in the above article regarding uninstalling, this article is linked:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
This article has the following information you're looking for:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and aren't deleted by removing iTunes. While it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it's always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. If you're unsure how to backup, follow these steps.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Question about reinstalling itunes

I downloaded the latest Itunes, and now, it freezes while trying to update the library. I want to reinstall itunes but I am afraid I will lose all my music.
My question is, if I delete itunes, will all my songs in my library go with it?
    Mike

Your music files are in a different folder than the application. Is it really freezing? It takes several minutes to go through the library depending on how many songs you have. Go fix a snack and come back in 10 minutes and see if iTunes has finished. I speak from experience.

  • Question about reinstalling v4.9 can anyone please help!?!?!

Ok, I've been having major burning problems since I downloaded v5.0 and now with v5.01 and its really annoying me. My question is this, I have version 4.9 on my old comp and it works fine. Is it possible to burn v4.9 to a disc then bring it to my new comp and download it, basically writing over 5.01, or do I have to unistall v5.01 in order to install 4.9 again?

I talked to an Apple Administrator at a local university who said 5.0 and 5.1 were garbage. He emailed me 4.9. Before I received the 4.9 I deleted 5.1 and re installed 4.0 which came with my Ipod. It worked but the problem was though, my library would not show up. If you are running windows, there is probably a directory "Itunes" in you My Music folder. Make a copy of the library files for archival use. Don't lose them because you may have to reload your music. The library is the clearing house for all your music files which are in another directory. Make sure you don't lose it either. My advice is to uninstall 5.1 and reinstall 4.9 making sure that you have backed up your library. When 4.9 reinstalled, it found the correct itunes library and I'm back in business.

    Hello
As far as I know you need a compatible USB drive to boot from the external drive.
I found on the Toshiba support page this useful document with a list of compatible drives.

  • Question about reinstalling OS X 10.5.8

I am wanting to wipe my MacBook Pro clean to give to my best friend, and I know I need to reinstall the OS with my disks. Here's what's happening: I put in the startup disks, and it tells me that they are older than the current one I am running (the disks are 10.5.2), so I can't reinstall.
What do I need to do next? I'm wondering what I did wrong...

I just figure it out. I realized that I needed to change my installation options. I will update the OS once I've reinstalled it.

  • Question about reinstalling windows

If I reinstall windows XP over an existing windows XP boot camp partition, will I have to reactivate and have to call up to get a new activation code from MS, etc?
And if the bootcamp partition is also used by parallels will that have to be reactivated too? My fear is having to call MS twice in a row to activate them both and them not believing me or allowing me to do it.
Right now parallels works just fine, but bootcamp comes up complaining that windows needs to be activated (no idea why since i was activated long ago) and won't log in until activated. Only problem is that I can't reactivate it because USB is not working in bootcamp. So the only thing I can think of is to reinstall XP.

You should be able to reinstall XP if you still have the original certificate number. You should not have to call Microsoft. Just enter the certificate number when prompted after the reinstall and XP will contact Microsoft's server. With XP the server doesn't care that the certificate number was used in the past.

  • Question about reinstalling v10.7 Lion on iMac

Last night I ran into trouble with some kext errors caused by permission changes I made (learned my lesson on that one!).
I ended up getting the grey screen that wouldn't do anything, so I turned off the Mac, then turned it back on again and entered the Lion Recovery module.
I selected reinstall Mac OS X, then I was taken to a screen with 2 choices - Macintosh HD or Recovery HD.  I believe the Recovery HD was locked, so i (mistakenly?) selected the Macintosh HD partition.
Will this create a problem, or was it the proper partition for reinstalling the OS?
Everything seems to be working fine, with no more kext errors, but I'd like to avoid a potential conflict if the OS isn't installed in the proper partition.
    Any assistance is appreciated.
    Paul

Only if they were system kexts. Reinstalling has no impact on third-party kexts unless you first erased the drive.
If the problem was simply permissions on system files then using Disk Utility to repair permissions should fix that.

  • Adobe Story Problems/Questions

    Hi,
I find it very hard to navigate the user forum.  I end up hunting and pecking in search of where I can post the question, so I am going to ask all my questions at once.
    1.  In Final Draft in format options you can select tight/normal/loose.  Is there a way in AS to adjust the screenwriting page format.  It is acceptable (Nicholl screenwriting format to have pages as follows;
    Left, 1.5 inches.  Right, 1.0
inches.  Top, 1.0 inches to the body, 0.5 inches to the number. Bottom, 0.5 to 1.5 inches, depending on where the page break comes.
Adobe Story seems to only give 1" as bottom margin.
Anyway, does AS have a function similar to FD8.
    2.  Also, today I am struggling with exporting AS to FD8.  Even though I have turned of scene and dialogue numbers in AS and even though they can't be seen in AS, they are appearing as random, intermittent numbers in the FD export.  (They do not appear in the pdf export.)  I need to get this fixed ASAP so I can send out the screenplay.
    3.  If we have a Creative Suite subscription, will AS continue to be part of that and no extra charge?
    Thank you.

If you are using a PC, then normally for any program you want to uninstall you go thru the Control Panel to properly remove programs.

  • Question About Reinstalling Elements 11

I have a brand new laptop that I purchased specifically to edit photos while on the road.  The first thing I did when I received it a couple days ago was to load Elements 11 (the second computer I loaded this version onto from disc).  The second thing I did was inadvertantly uninstall a couple of other pre-loaded programs I need, while trying to self-teach myself Windows 8.  Since the computer is so new, I figured I would just restore to factory settings, but I'm worried that will erase the Elements program I loaded, and, because I've already loaded the program twice, will not be able to use the disc again to restore it to this machine.  Am I wrong in thinking I cannot reload Elements onto a machine it has previously been loaded onto?  Or does the program recognize that it is a machine where it has previously been loaded, and let me reinstall? Thanks for any help you can provide.
    J. Hajduk

First you have to deactivate Photoshop. If it is ok you can find the deactivate button on the Help screen. Then you can remove Photoshop from you computer. Go back to factory settings and install Photoshop again. Be sure to deactivate first before you remove Photoshop.
