Sharing of mp4 files not allowed

Just wondering, if in the near future Adobe CC will allow to share mp4 files, currently our clients ask for the h264 format all the time.
Is there a reazon why the mp4 format is not working with CC?

The official (idiotic) explanation is that video files are frequently used for piracy and Adobe is afraid subscribers to CC will use it to share copyrighted material without permission.

Are .mp4 files not supported when trying to merge 2 videos into 1 video? The steps in the manual seem simple enough. But the paste function won't work on the 1st video after selecting all and then copy on the 2nd video.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on eight different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.

Based on my tests, users can save the document with only Read permission, which is by design. If you don’t want users to print files, please do not give the print permissions on printers.

Local video file (.mp4) file not play in MAC OS using netstream (NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound)

I have developed adobe air application using adobe flash builder 4.6 for Windows and Mac OS. Application allow user to download movie (.mp4) file in his system at specific location for play without live streaming. File downloading correctly in both OS and also file playing from download location in Window application correctly. but when start playing file Mac OS application not start playing.
When start playing in mac OS, NetStatusEvent.Net_Status event return "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound" event info code. I have found one solution for mac OS is use colon notation instead of slash notation. I have tried it but it also not working.

Finally I found a solution...
The problem is that AIR on Android stores the application data in the protected directory /data/... which is not accessible by StageWebView (or any browser app).
So you have to copy the video file you want to play to a temporary pubic directory on the sd-card for example and use this in StageWebView.
You also have to create a temporary html-page with the video-tag and load this page in StageWebView (not the string) because external resources are only loaded in StageWebView when using an URL.
On iOS the application storage directory is readable for StageWebView so you don't have to do this step.

Why do .mp4 files not show up in the Finder/work in iDVD?

I downloaded some .mp4 files from the internet on my Windows PC and as per usual they are played by quicktime on my PC.
When I saved them to my external HDD and plugged it into my MBP, the folder containing the mp4 files does not appear, and neither will they import into iDVD where I am trying to burn them.
I am a new MBP user (and a happy one so far) so I am well aware I coukd be missing something here, but I thought that .mp4 was practically guaranteed to play on a Mac especially given the relationship to video iPods?

Thanks, but after installing this nothing seems to have changed except that if I download the .mp4 files from my Mac they appear on the Desktop. They can be played with Quicktime but if they are played in VLC there is no sound
The folder on my external HDD which contains the .mp4 files still does not ahow up.
I am now very confused!
Does anyone have more ideas, I'll try whatever!

MP4 files not playing in Quicktime 7.3

Lately, I have been getting the following error when I try to play MP4 files in quicktime on my Mac:
"The movie could not be opened. Operation could not be completed. (OSStatus error -50.)"
This error also prevents me from adding the files to iTunes. The weird thing is that they play fine on a PC.
I have tried updating my Quicktime (I am running Leopard), and that did nothing.
Any ideas?

How can I tell that. I have several. I am also unable to view them in the finder window like I can other .m4v or .mov files.

Any thoughts?If you have QT Pro, you could try using the "Save As..." option to place you file into an MOV file container before uploading to your web site. If you are using direct URL access of the file, consider embedding your refeences/play instructions.

Audio links to MP4 files not working

i'm publishing a website I designed using Dreamweaver. I
uploaded everything to the server using Fetch, but none of my audio
file links work. I've checked 100 times, and the files are there,
in the folder specified when I created the links. I've tried
recreating them - checking the location, etc and nothing works.
is this a problem with mp4 files or is it something else?
please let me know if anyone has any ideas as to what might
be wrong.

Sharing iMovie: mp4 file choppy in Quicktime

Hi,
I'm trying to create a basic slideshow that will later be burned to a dvd (for previewing on another computer or on tv screen). I imported clips (from iPhoto), added music, transitions, etc. When I finished, I shared the file as Full Quality .mp4. When previewed with Quicktime, the images were blurry and the transitions were choppy. Does this have anything to do with what video format (HD, HDV, MPEG-4, iSight) I had to choose from when I first created a new project? Or does it have to do with which method I share the file as?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

If you want a Full Quality video (640X480) for making a DVD, simply go to File>Share>Full Quality, or File>Share>Expert Settings>DV Stream. You will get the same results. If you choose anything else, you will get a small compressed QT move not suitable for full-screen viewing. If you chose Full-Quality and also chose MPEG-4, I believe you will be attempting to make full-screen version of a small MPEG-4 movie. If you do this, you will be blowing up a small 320X240 MPEG-4 QT movie to 640X480 resulting in a very cruddy picture. Now, once you get a clean Full-Quality DV movie, Quicktime can play it but since you are playing a huge memory-intensive file, the movie won't play smoothly unless you have a very fast processor and tons of ram.

APE8 worked OK with mp4 files, not doesn't recognize

I started a project last fall and brought all my .jpg stills and all the .mp4 HD video from my camera into Premiere Elements 8. I used organizer to create folders by location and put all relevant stills and video into the folders.
Everything played OK and I even did a couple of test movies which worked fine.
I've now re-opened the project and the the software is responding that the file format is not recognized by premiere elements 8 or I don't have the proper codec installed.
I had installed xvid and divx pro, but these files HAVE NOT been converted into those formats.
Please advise as to why the videos were working OK last September (2010), and now (Jan 2011) the product doesn't recognize.

I got the GSpot.exe and it shows "status undetermined" for the H264 codec.
I reinstalled QuickTime, but a new H.264 codec is not shown when I list the installed codec in gspot under system.
I reviewed info on DivX and they do indicate that they install their own version of the H.264 codec. Even tho the files were recorded NOT in the DivX format and had not been converted, maybe the install of DivX pro did screw up the H.264 codec and now APE8 doesn't know what to do.
I haven't rebooted the machine yet, but I'd like to keep the DivX software. If I uninstall it, I don't think a previous version of the H.264 will be restored.
I got a file called x264.exe from free-codecs.com and ran it, but i'm worried because it didn't respond with any install messages and doesn't show up in the installed program listing. i ran a malwarebytes scan with the current database but it didn't find anything.
After all this, the H264 status using gspot is still undetermined. I restarted the APE8 project and the file thumbnails show up OK from the prior import (if I update they go to the "broken" icon), but trying to use still results in the unknown codec.
I'll reboot and see if there are any changes.

We really..really hope that Adobe will do the fixes to enable annotation will be provided asap because we had a lot of feedbacks from our users that had been embarked with the LiveCycle policy protected file and they had requested to have the annotation feature. Its pointless not to able to annotate a pdf file even you had been allowed to modify the file in the policy set. Even the annotation tool is now available in the adobe reader mobile but the tool cannot be used for protected file with LiveCycle policy. Quite disappointed response by our users on the unavailable feature for annotation.
when we could expect the fixes to be provided and we could tell the good news to our valuable users. Any target date or time?

IPad Apps File Sharing in iTunes - files not displaying

Are you not supposed to be able to copy files to and from your computer/iPad for apps that support File Sharing in iTunes? When I open iTunes, connect iPad, click on the Apps, scroll below to File Sharing, the files on my iPad for the apps listed do not display; ie: Pages documents, Numbers documents, etc. I am running a Windows XP computer. I'm quite certain they were showing up there a few weeks ago.

You have to tell the iPad to send it to iTunes.
Open the document you want. Tap the spanner icon. Click Send to iTunes.
Now go to iTunes, find the iPad in the left hand pane, click Apps at the top, go to the bottom of the page, select pages in the box under 'File Sharing', and you will see that document there.
Pointless feature but there you go.

Is XMP import/export for MOV/MTS/MP4 files not supported?

I have been evalutating LR4 and am stuck on how to import my files from another DAM into LR4.
I am able to write XMP into JPG files, and provide sidecar XMP files for RAW (CR2) and MOV/MP4/MTS files, writing my hierarchical keyword information into the xmp-dc:Subject and xmp-lr:HierarchicalSubject fields.
LR4 seems to read the XMP keywords from the JPG and RAW files just fine and re-creates my keyword hierarchy.
LR4 seems to ignore on import the XMP for the non-image files such as the MOV/MP4/MTS files for which I have provided sidecar files.
LR4 also does not write out XMP files for the non-image files, when I use save Medatada.
Does LR4 just ignore import/writing XMP for these non-image files?

MTS files can't really accept metadata embedding -your best bet is to use ClipWrap to "re-wrap" AVCHD/MTS files into MOV files.
This still does not fix the problem of LR not writing XMP data to video files. Unfortunately, if you want to have metadata that stays with your MOV files, you'll want to use something aside form LR4 -I wouldn't bother doing much video cataloging in LR4.

Slideshow exported as MP4 file not recognised

Any idea what could be the issue with this?
I have tried a few times to play slideshow files exported as movies from LR3 (last year from the Beta, and recently, from my release copy) without any success.
The files aren't recognised as MP4s on my workstation, and although they are on my old (xp) machine, I can't play them in win media player (or anything else).
Any advice?

My guess would be that the device is shooting with an unstable frame rate. Not uncommon in cameras. Long shots will probably show sync drift over time after import, which is again not uncommon, especially with devices that shoot heavily comppresed video and audio formats.

I think I fixed it using help from another post...agreeing to license agreement in program files eula.exe
I think Eula is a licensing agreement term (not quite sure because I just heard of it when error happened).
