Sharing Pages documents from iMac desktop

I have a 13 page document written in Pages. I would like to email this document via email to other users not necessarily Mac users. Will they be able to open the Pages document once they receive it?  Thanks!

If you send this document as a Pages one, they will not be able to open it.
What you can do is to export the document to Word format, so probably most users will be able to open it. To do this, open your document in Pages and go to File menu (on the menu bar) > Export to > Word. Then, you can send the exported file

  • Transferring pages document from iMac to iCloud causing layout issues.

    Hi,
I recently transferred a Pages document from my iMac to iCloud's pages (beta).
In doing so, the iCloud version of pages completely scrambled the document's layout.
    Below is an example:
Is there a way of avoiding this in the future?
I still have the original document on my iMac, so I am able to re-upload the document to iCloud pages.
    Thanks.

Do you know of any other ways to view a document without the pages app? It would be nice to type up something on my mac and be able to see it later on my phone (shopping lists, etc).
    Thanks!

  • What di I need on a Mac Mini to import Pages documents from an iPad-mini

What do I need on my MacMini to import Pages documents from an iPad-mini?

Plug in your iPad mini to the Mac mini. Open iTunes on the Mac. Select your iPad from the sidebar on the left. At the top, where it says "Summary," etc. choose Apps. Scroll down until you see a section for File Sharing. Find Pages. Select the document on the right. In the bottom right corner, select "Save to..." and choose where on your computer you want to save it.

  • How can I retrieve my pages documents from another account in the iCloud

I was using pages in my ipad. Then I bought a Mac Pro and signes with a new iCloud account. In order to sync it with my ipad I deleite the previous iCloud account from the divise and started it with the new account. I previously choose to keep all the documenta before deleten the account.
Now when opened pages I can not see any of my previous doccuments

You'll need to copy the Pages documents from the old iCloud account to the new one.  To do this, go to iCloud.com from your Mac and sign into the old account.  Launch Pages beta and confirm that your documents are still there.  Assuming they are, select them, then click the gear icon on the menu bar and choose Download Documents and choose the Pages format.  This will download copies of the documents to your Mac.  Drag the downloaded documents to your desktop and double-click on them to extract them from the .zip files.  Next, sign out on iCloud.com and sign back into your new iCloud account.  Launch Pages beta in the new account, then drag and drop the documents from your desktop to the Pages beta window to upload them to the new account.  You can now access the documents from devices signed into your new account.

  • How do I open a Pages document from a newer version?

I have an iMac and MacBook Pro.  Apparently the Pages program I'm using on the iMac is older though I'm sure I updated it.  Pages documents from the MacBook will not open on the iMac.  Can anyone help?

    Hi Peter
Please, don't play the fool this way.
You perfectly know that the "Save a Copy as…" is available in Lion.
It was described here several times

  • I have transferred my documents from iMac to macbook air, but when I try to read then I get the message "This document is too old.  Download it to version 09.  How do I do that?

I have transferred my pages documents from my macbook pro to my macbook air, but I cannot read them as I get the message "This document is too old.  Download to version 09".  How do I do that?  I spent over an hour on the phone to a technician at Apple but he was no help.

I have the same issue having replaced my 07 iMac for a new iMac, I was using iWork 08 (Pages) and all my Pages documents cannot be read by the latest iWork (Pages).  I get the same message and, although I have worked out that any that had been exported to Word format can be read and then re-saved, I cannot now open the purely Pages documents to export them to Word first.  I am amazed that the new Pages cannot read Pages 08 document but can continue to read Word ones!  So, how can I get my hands on Pages 09, so that I can re-save them in the current Pages format?

  • Will Adobe Export PDF convert a pdf to an editable Pages document for iMAC

Will Adobe Export PDF convert a pdf document to an editable Pages document for iMAC?

    HI HolySpiritThree,
ExportPDf will convert the PDF into Docx and doc format. Then you can download that converted file to you desktop. So if you have Word on MAc you can use that to edit the converted PDF file.
I'm not sure about Pages, if pages can open(supports) .docx or .doc files then you can always use Pages to edit the document. I hope that answer your question.
Let me know if that helps.
    Regards,
    ~Pranav

I'm trying to print a multiple page document from my ipad using an AirPrint printer. Only the first page is printing. Please help. The printer works correctly with my desktop and laptop.

What version of iOS are you using?  Some people were having this problem before, and it was fixed when they updated to iOS 5.

  • Getting Pages document from Mac to Pages on iPad

I have been trying to import Pages documents from my Mac to my iPad throughh iTunes and I'm having no success. I go to apps in iTunes and under file sharing Pages shows up. I click add and navigate to the file. It seems to do something but when I go to Pages on the iPad it isn't there. However in iTunes I can still copy it back to my computer from the iPad even though it couldn't be found on the iPad itself. Also I thought that the tutorial document should be visible in iTunes as well where the file sharing is but it doesn't show up either. This situation also occurs with Numbers and Keynote as well. Any ideas?

On the iPad open Pages and go to the screen where all your Pages document are... You will see a folder in the upper right. Click on that folder you should find your imported Pages document. Click on the document and it will import to Pages. The same holds true with keynote and numbers.
You can delete the document from that folder if you don't need to import it again...this will save space on your iPad.

  • Sharing pages documents via iCloud

How do I share a pages document from my laptop so I can work on it on my ipad?  I have icloud enabled on both systems, pages is installed on both systems, but I don't see how I can send or share a document unless it's through iwork.
    Thanks,
    Robin

The desktop/Mac OS X versions of the iWork apps have not been updated to take advantage of iCloud yet. In the meantime you can go to iCloud.com, sign in & click the iWork icon where you can upload & download files. You could also try e-mail or Dropbox.

  • Pages 2.0.2 doesn't open Pages documents from ipad

Pages 2.0.2 doesn't open Pages documents from ipad 2. Document succesfully transferred as Pages document to computer, but Pages 2.0,2 wouldn;t open it. Version too old?

Pages 2 is iWork '06, two versions behind what the iOS Pages creates. You need to use Pages '09 which you can purchase from the Mac App Store as a stand-alone application or a retail box of the iWork '09 suite.

  • Open Pages documents from an older version

I need to open Pages documents from an older version of Pages that I saved to an external drive from a computer that I no longer have access to.  My current operating system is 10.7.5 and I can't upgrade it right now.  I see that Pages 5.0 requires 10.10 or higher and I can't find older versions to download and from what I've read, it doesn't sound like I'd be able to open the old documents with the new version anyway.  I really need these documents. What can I do?

I found it helpful to convert all my old Pages '08 files to .doc files.  They can be opened by the new version of Pages.
Since the new version of Pages is no longer back compatible, and so not good for anything you want to keep for a long time, you might consider using an open source word processing application like Libra Office.  That's what I had to do.  After seven years of being a happy Pages user - archiving thousands of files in Pages -Apple has abandoned us.  I no longer think it is wise to use the new Pages and then five years down the road (or sooner) not to be able to open them in a newer version.
If you would like a quick way to convert your Pages '08 files to .doc, let me know.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.
