I'm guessing extremely botched translation of "iCloud", based on the phonetics.

  • Sharing photos between IPad and MacBook Air

    Hi
How can i import some photos recorded into my IPad and save them into my MacBook Air? I mean, how can i share photos between those equipment?
    Thanks
    Jorge

The simplest and most efficient way would be to use Photo Stream as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2605
Photos on your iPad will immediately appear on your MacBook Air in iPhoto -- as long as your MacBook Air is reasonably recent and OS X and iPhoto are current.

  • Sharing 3G between iPhone and iPad

I currently have a 3GS iPhone and I am planning on buying the iPad in March/April. My question is: Is there or will there be a way to share the 3G networking of the iPhone with the iPad or will I have to keep paying for my data plan on my iPhone and also pay and ADDITIONAL $30 a month for 3G access on the iPad? I guess what I am getting at is, is there a way to create a personal wifi hotspot with the iPhone so that both my devices can use the 3G network, or will I be stuck paying an additional $30 a month for a separate data plan for the iPad? I read a little about MYFI, but it don't sound legit, sounds like you need a jailbroken iPhone, and I don't want to go that route, unless MYFI is legit! Or is there a cable that I can use to share the internet. If I can get away with buying the wifi iPad and share the internet with my iphone, it would save me the $30 a month, and also I would not have to buy the 3G enabled iPad. Any help would be great!

Is there or will there be a way to share the 3G networking of the iPhone with the iPad
No such feature has been announced.
is there a way to create a personal wifi hotspot with the iPhone
    No.
I read a little about MYFI, but it don't sound legit, sounds like you need a jailbroken iPhone
Not true. But you'd still need to pay for a separate 3G connection for the MyFi. All it does is provide WiFi to other devices from a 3G signal.
Or is there a cable that I can use to share the internet
    No.
If I can get away with buying the wifi iPad and share the internet with my iphone, it would save me the $30 a month
I'm sure a lot of people would want to do that, but no doubt the networks would rather you pay for an additional 3G service, if you need internet connectivity where there is no WiFi.

  • Syncing Photos between iPhone and iPhoto

    Two part question:
    1) Is it required to launch iPhoto and import photos into the app or are they/can they be transferred just by syncing the phone in iTunes?
    2) When I do sync with iPhoto, I often get duplicate photos which I previously imported into iPhoto but they get transferred back to my phone, so I now have the same photo multiple times. This is a annoying as you can imagine. How do I prevent this?
    Thanks in advance.

    1) Camera roll pics ( taken with iphone ) are NOT part of the itunes sync process at all. You import them as you would from any digital camera - iphoto for example.
    2) If you do not delete the pics from iphone once you have imported them, then you may end up importing them twice.
You should regularly import pics from iphone, then you can organize them on your computer and sync whatever you like to iphone.
There is no reason to keep anything in the Camera Roll once you have imported them into your computer. As with everything else on your computer, you should always maintain a backup copy on an external drive, flash drive, cds, dvds, etc,

  • Sharing Calendars between iPhone and Samsung Galaxy

Hi All - do any of you tech savy people know how I can share my iPhone or Mac calendar with my Samsung Galaxy husband?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated !!! thanks

If you can get the content from the tablet into iTunes, it can then be synced to the iDevice.
iTunes does not sync with any Android device, it would be up to you to get that content onto the computer and into iTunes.

  • Is there ANY way to sync app/game data between iPhone and iPad2?

I just got a new iPad and sync'd all my apps onto it however I didn't realize it wouldnt sync the game data (levels etc). I don't want to start from scratch on my games if I want to play them on the iPad.
It's not looking good for a solution but I figured surely someone has found or created something (don't understand why Apple didn't!)
The main app I want the app data sync'd on is Cat Physics.

It depends on the game - some will sync scores over Game Center or over their own server (the crossword puzzle app I use gives us two options - their own server or Game Center). You'll have to contact the makers of Cat Physics to find out - Apple did create this functionality in GC, but it's up to the developer to chose to use it.

  • How can I get all photos from the camera roll onto the photo stream so they will share between iphone and ipad?

How can I get all photos from the camera roll, and all new pictures taken, to get on the photostream so they can share between iphone and ipad?

When turning PhotoStream on with photos available in the Camera Roll, only photos captured by the iPhone or saved on the iPhone are placed in the PhotoStream.
For all photos that were in the Camera Roll prior to turning PhotoStream on, import the photos with your computer and add the photos to your PhotoStream on your computer.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Sharing files between users and macs

My husband and I share an iMac. I have a MBA for traveling and my husband a PC laptop (though he rarely uses for private stuff). We both have iPhones.
We are looking for a way to:
    - Share our photos (we don't use iPhoto) and some files. We would like to have this in one shared folder, that we can access from both accounts in the iMac, the MBA and ideally (though not a must) the PC and iPhones. We would both need to have admin rights to edit documents, etc.
    - Have access to all the information in my account on the iMac from the MBA. Ideally, same thing for his and the PC.
    - Have access to all the data remotely when traveling.
    - Have all the data backed up locally (we already have a cloud backup, but we'd like to have a local backup too as it's easier and quicker to access)
We have read a lot about configuration, NAS, time capsule... but we get more and more confused, as we are obviously no tech experts.
Dropbox is not our preferred choice. We already have a cloud backup system. We'd rather have the files stored and accessed locally for everyday use.
Using a NAS to store shared folders and backup the rest sounds good, but they either seem very complicated to set up, or they have mixed reviews in terms of stability, especially to access files remotely.
Timecapsule seems easier and more straightforward, but I'm not sure it would solve the "sharing files between users and macs with admin rights"? It seems to be more focused on backing up the main drive and then providing access to the backed up files. (Though I might be completely mistaken!)
We just can't manage to have one shared folder between both accounts in the iMac. We need to grant admin rights document by document. We don't manage to make it work automatically so we both have one folder to access with full rights for all the contents inside it. And this seems to me like something that should easily be done...?
Any help, advice, proposals... would be greatly appreciated!!!

Move any file you want to the other user to access to the Shared Folder. Anything you put in that folder is available to all users.
    The shared folder is here:
Macintosh HD > Users > Shared

How to sync between iPhone and iPad at Podcasts app?

    Please elaborate - share what?
    Just guessing here...
Any sharing is probably a result of being logged in with the same Apple ID on both devices.
For apps/music: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads OFF.
For iCloud: Settings > iCloud > Delete Account.
For iMessage: Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

  • Curious... Syncing Issues Between iPhone and iTunes?

Just curious... the past several months I have noted various concerns around "syncing" between iPhone and iTunes... yet don't recall any mention of whether it occurs between MAC OS or WIN hardware (desktops and or laptops). Furthermore, I am interested if anyone can comment whether these sync issues occurs mostly on TIGER or LEOPARD OS when accessing iTUNES. (Guess I should pay more attention to the noted OS field.
I ask because I am considering an upgrade to LEOPARD by end of month and don't want to jeopardize my syncing to my iPhone if it is a LEOPARD related issue. Thank you

I'm running Leopard and I've never experienced any sync issues.
These discussions include mostly problems, which is what these discussions are for - a user to user support forum for technical support issues and questions.
Which particular issue are you referring to?
Before installing a major OS X upgrade such as Leopard over a previous OS X version, it is a good idea to create or update your existing backup of important data stored on your computer's hard drive - including your iTunes library, photos, contact info, calendar events, documents, etc. I've never experienced any problems installing a major OS X upgrade over a previous OS X version, but I always update my computer's backup immediately beforehand to be on the safe side.

  • Sharing photos between networked versions of Elements

Has anyone shared photos between different versions of Elements?  Specifically, I have Elements version 3 on a XP system.  Now I would like to add a new Windows 7_64bit system and run the latest version of Elements on it.  As I will be keeping both systems (networked), I would like both users to be able to use a shared folder of family photos.
    1)  Can multiple versions of Elements share a common/networked watched folder? (Not simultaneously)
    2)  If shared in this manner, are there any issues to address?
    3)  If not different versions, can the same versions share networked folders?
    Thank you

You can certainly have the same photos referenced by different PSE catalogs ( with the same or different versions of PSE, running on the same or different computers). Remember that a catalog just contains links to the photos.
There are a few gotchas to think about: If you change the tags of a photo in one catalog, the other catalog won't pick up the change unless you delete and reimport the photo.  If you change other fields, such as date/time, star rating, captions, notes, or GPS/map location, or if you edit the photo itself, then you can force the other catalog to pick up the change by selecting the photo(s) and doing Edit > Update Thumbnail. (This works for PSE 6 and later; don't know about PSE 3.)  And if you delete a photo from your disk in one catalog, it will become disconnected ("missing") in the other catalog, and you'll have to do File > Reconnect to find such missing photos.
If you want to share the catalog itself, see this FAQ:

  • Bought 10 gb Uploaded Iphone and IPad2, left with 2gb space.  How to view pictures and other info in ICloud?

Bought 10 gb Uploaded Iphone and IPad2, left with 2gb space.  How to view pictures and other info in ICloud?  Can I upload documents from my desktop (Windows os)?
    Thanks.

If you backed up your iphone to icloud, then there's a chance that doing a restore might bring back your photos.  I say "chance" because many users have tried that (assuming they had photos turned in for backups in settings), but ended up not getting back any photos.  If that happens, then they are gone.
Remember, you should have been syncing photos all along to a computer for archiving.  Don't trust the pictures to an icloud backup.
