Sharing photos with iOS 6 via email

Hi
When trying to sent pictures from photos can select pics, then email appears with photos attached and when send there is a sent sound but mail is not received and also does not appear in sent folder. Even trying other email addresses for example gmail instead of iCloud results are the same
Is there a fix for this? The problem appeared since iOS 6

Open either or both the Mail app or Photos app and try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank. Be patient, the device will power ON again in the normal way. It is app and data safe!]

  • Sharing Folio With Someone Via Email.

I'm new to DPS, and I'm creating a sample folio in order to see how it works.  The problem I'm having is that
the Folio articles themselves do not show up, i.e. no words and images as I see in InDesign.
Below is a description of what I did and what I see.
I created two articles and put them in one folio.  The very first thing I really want to learn how to do is how to share this with someone, especially someone like a potential employer, who may or may not have their own DPS or Adobe account.
So, I understand that in the Folio Builder there is a dropdown menu
on the top right corner of that window where you can select Share, and then enter in someone's email address.
I sent it to myself as a test, incidentally another email address than the one I have used to log into Adobe for my DPS use.
When I get the email, it contains a link.  The wording is like: MYNAME has shared the SAMPLENAME folio with you.
The email also has this line: To accept the invitation or access the folio in the Folio Producer web client, click on the link above.
So, when I click on it, it goes to a page on this domain: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, and
then loads this page with Digital Publishing Suite at the top.  A row of drop down menus and buttons, including a button named "Open."
Then it shows my SAMPLENAME folio in a row.
If I select the name of my folio, and click the "Open" button, it goes to a new page, with
Digital Folio Producer: Editor at the top, with SAMPLENAME next to it.  Then it has a row
of buttons and a slider for Thumbnail size. Below that are two drop down menus with
the names of my articles, SAMPLEARTICLE1 and SAMPLEARTICLE2.  Those dropdown
menus contain the options: Copy to...; Delete...; Lock; Rename...
I do not see my actual articles, words and images.  I do not see how to open these up.  I cannot find anywhere on the
internet, including in Adobe video tutorials, if anyone else has had this problem, or how to solve it.  Can anyone please help?

Bob, thanks again for responding.  I have to say though that I still need more clarification, or perhaps this is something that Adobe is not doing correctly.  In other words, can you pass this along up the chain, so that it is fixed, so that a team of engineers comes up with a better solution?  I'm talking about the regular sharing, not the "social sharing," which is beyond me as I don't have a pro or enterprise DPS subscription.
I need to understand exactly how I'm supposed to share a folio with someone.  I suppose that of the two evils, requiring an H.R. person to have InDesign with DPS installed on their computer versus having an iPad where they can download the free Adobe Content Viewer, then the ACV app is the lesser of two evils.
Can you please break it down into steps.
Such as 1.  Once having created a folio that I want to share I tell the person I want to share it with----go to
this web page: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/welcome.html, create an account.  Then, tell me the
email address you used to create the account.  Then, download the Adobe Content Viewer on your ipad.
    Then, sign into that account.
    2. I select "Share" from the dropdown menu of the folio builder, and type in the email address they used to
register with Adobe's DPS page, and perhaps include a message and send it.
    3. The recipient sees the email, and then DOESN'T click on the links inside the email.  They just understand----or I tell them----that they should ignore the link------and go to their app, where they will see an update button, and then
they update it and it downloads the Folio I've been wanting to share with them.
    Is this correct?
If this is correct, why is it not spelled out this way anywhere on the site, or in the tutorial video?
And also, if this is correct, does this not seem crazy?
What is the point of the email being sent, which has links in it, if the links are not to be clicked?
Why can I NOT------just as an example off the top of my head----export a Folio in a format that can be
read by a standalone Adobe Content Viewer, that any person can download from an Adobe page?
Like the way an SWF file can be exported from Flash, and then played by a email recipient via a
standalone Flash Player.  Yes, you either have to send them a standalone Flash player, or they
need to download it themselves, but I don't think they have to register to do it.  And they don't
need to sign in within Flashplayer.
First of all, asking a recipient to download and register their own Adobe ID (let's assume they are not a
graphic designer) is bad enough.  But then, in order to share it with them, I send them an email with links
    that don't work as expected.
    I've got an idea.
Let's say that some people you want them to see the Folio on their ipad, not be able to
edit it, just view it such as with the Adobe Content Viewer app.  And there are other people where you want
them to be able to edit it in Folio Producer at this domain: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com
How about there are two different actions in InDesign to take for these two very different scenarios?
Are you telling me there is one method that enables both of these outcomes?  This same email that's generated
is for these two separate purposes?
Even the method for viewing the shared Folio which is to sign in, within Folio Builder which is within InDesign, doesn't require going to the email.  The email seems to be sent just as an acknowledgment that you enabled this Folio to be
shared with a particular person (identified by their email address).
In other words, if you just want someone to take a look at it, and they have Folio Builder and thus Desktop Content Viewer, the "Share" action could enable sharing on the Adobe website, but an email doesn't actually need to get sent to the person with whom it's being shared.  The links in the email will just confuse them.
So, the https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com page, found through the link in the email is strictly for editing it the Folio outside of InDesign--------but you cannot view it in your browser.  In other words, if you don't have InDesign, then you
can edit in your desktop browser, and you can view it on your iPad, but you cannot edit it on your iPad, or view it in your desktop browser.  Is this correct?
I think something needs to be done, this process doesn't seem elegant.  And there needs to be more clear explanation of this process outside the forum.

The problem is with the new operating system  and sending photo via email when used in my iPad.
From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow. This is solved by saving the email as a draft and opening the email again from mail.
Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

    - What OS is on your computer? you say you have Windows 98. That I think is the problem.
    - Are you importing the photos by:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    If not how?
the .ithmp are thumbnails, not the full photo

This is not the iPhoto forum. In any case in iPhoto>Preferences select Mail or whatever email program you are using to email as the desired choice. You are probably sending directly through iPhoto.

  • Sharing photos from iphoto 11, why does the photo information not upload when I click with share via email?  How can I make sure the photo information and location are shared when the photo (s) are shared.

When I go to share photos in iPhoto 11, The photos transfer to the email I'm sending but the photo information and location don't.  The older version of iPhoto did it, why not this version?  What am I missing in the process of sharing via email?, Thank You.

When you share to email do you get the following dialogue:

  • Trouble sharing photos between devices via iCloud photostream

I have trouble sharing photos in my iPod 4th generation with an iPad 2 user. I've sent an invitation to an iPad user to share my shared album with him but he didn't receive any email regarding on this invitation. Whereas, when the iPad user invite me to share his album, I've receive the email and joined his photostream. Unfortunately, the album didn't appear in my iPod. Can someone help me identify the problem? Thank you

    Hi LCelineee,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
These tips may help if your shared photo stream invitation is not being received:
I've sent email invitations to my shared stream, but not everyone received one.
    Try these troubleshooting steps:
Ask the person you're inviting to check any junk or spam email folders for the invitation.
Try resending the invitation. If a recipient still doesn't get the invitation, send it to a second or alternate email address for that person. The recipient's mailbox may be full, or either the person or the email service provider may have a filter that is preventing the email from being delivered. If you're using iOS 7, you can also send the invitation to the phone number that the recipient uses for iMessages.
If the person has received an invitation at least once in the past, that person may have opted to unsubscribe from future iCloud Photo Sharing emails. See the section on opting out of emails, below, for more details.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, contact Apple Support for further assistance.

  • How to save a photo I receive via email?

How can I save a photo that is received via email on my iPhone (through my gMail account). Can this be done? How can I save a photo to my iPhone's photo library when I get one via email on the phone?

    Not possible with the iPhone.
Assuming you are also accessing this email account with an email client on your Mac and you use iPhoto for storing photos, save the emailed photo to iPhoto - Apple's Mail application includes this option from or with the received message - saving the photo direct to iPhoto and then transfer the photo from iPhoto to the iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
This is the only way - at the present time anyway.

  • IPhoto '11 Sharing Photos with MobileMe Login Error

    Hello -
I am using iPhoto '11 on my iMac and when I try to share a photo with my MobileMe account I am prompted for a username and password (I am sure I am using the correct UN / PW) it tells me that it cannot verify me.
BTW - I am not sure if this is related, but I keep getting messages from Safari telling me various xxx.me.com server certificates are invalid and suggesting that someone my be spufing me.
    Mac Jonathan

    Greetings,
I haven't heard of that issue directly myself, however your mention of the shared wireless network via one Mac's Airport card will not give the best performance compared to an actual wireless router: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB321LL/A
As a quick and simple test:
Turn off the Airport card on both computers (Airport > Turn Airport off)
Shut both computers down (Apple > Shutdown)
Plug the ethernet cable going between your modem and your 1st Mac so that it goes directly from one Mac to the other
Once the ethernet cable is plugged in, turn both computers back on
Launch iPhoto on both systems and test
If it works then I'd say get yourself an actual wireless router as sharing an entire photo library over your network is a relatively stressful activity and it would benefit from a router.
If it doesn't work reply back
    Hope that helps.

  • Lync 2013 / Skype for Business sharing photos with federated contacts

In the new SfB client I can see photos of federated contacts. I'm on Office 365 and this only happens for Federated contacts also hosted on Office 365 where we have an Exchange organisation relationship. I'm not sure if this
is because of the new client, updated server software in Office 365 or something I just missed before.
If I look into the client debug files I can see that the photo URL for Office 365 includes the wssecurity (federated authentication) but for onprem system it's missing.
I have customers with Lync onprem asking for sharing the high res photos with external organisations. The classic URL-sharing is not a viable solution for several reasons. So, based on these findings:
Is the wssecurity (Web Service Security) in the EWS path something that will come to SfB server for onpremises making ot possible to enable photo sharing between organisations having federated identity configured in Exchange?
Lync Onprem (with highres photos configured)

    Hi,
The Skype For Business Server update will come soon, I couldn't find any information about if the WSSecurity would be added to the EWS path for sfb. You can check when the update for Skype For Business comes. Thank you for your understanding.

  • How do Lightroom users manage sharing photos with family?

I'm just looking for some best practices about how to handle the workflow of sharing photos.  Obviously the Lightroom user doesn't want family members to start messing around with the photos outside of Lightroom, and if the photos are not JPGs family members might not be able to view them anyway.  One solution I can think of is to shoot all photos in JPG and in Camera Raw at the same time and save the JPGs to a folder available to everyone and only import the Camera Raw ones into Lightroom.

This is a possible solution, but by doing this, family members will not be able to see changes you applied to the photos from within LR.
Another option would be to export your LR inventory (or parts of it) regularely to a specific folder, where others can access the JPEGs/TIFFs.
In LR 3, this can be somewhat automated by using the Publish Services to harddisk, where only changed photos are exported again a second or successive time.
A different approach could also be LRViewer, which lets you view images in a LR catalog from the previews without accessing the originals and without being able to change anything on them.

  • Can't see shared printer with IOS 6 on ipad 3rd generation

I just upgraded my 3rd generation ipad to iOS 6.0 and now it won’t see the shared printers at my office. The printers are shared on a Mac mini server running OS X Server Lion 10.7.4. I can still see the shared printers and can print to them from a 3rd generation ipad with iOS 5.1.1.
Does anyone know what apple changed with iOS 6.0 that makes it where the shared printers aren’t showing up and what I might need to do to get them back working on my ipad with iOS 6.0?
    Thanks -

iOS printing to a non-AirPrint printer is not supported. There's more information here: AirPrint 101
If you had iOS printing working through yout OS X Server then you must have had another piece of software running in the server emulating AirPrint. That software isn't compatible with iOS 6.
