Sharing playlists at iTunes Store?

Hi guys
I need to check out my understanding is correct.  I  believe that I can show my playlists online.
My target is to allow friends to see my recommendations for tunes by publishing a playlist and  I am not asking about sharing playlists at home or on a network.
Using iTunes 10.7, I followed the suggested procedure and I have produced a couple of playlists which I believe have published them online.
I understand I am meant to go to part of the iTunes Store and find 'playlsts' but I just can't see the correct link to show me my Playlists and also other people's playlists.
Can someone explain where they are shown ?
p.s. If you want to gift you get shown the total price before proceeding?
Thanks in advance
Pete

What exactly are you basing your assumptions on?  Not implying you are wrong, I've just never heard of this.

  • Creating playlists from iTunes Store music items

When browsing for music in the iTunes Store, I like to make playlists of songs that I'm interested in so I can access them later quickly and easily. In previous versions of iTunes, when creating a playlist by selecting and dragging items from the Store, the default name of that playlist would be either a combination Artist - Album like "Daft Punk - Human After All" or if there are various artists just the album name "Human After All".
Right now, in iTunes 8 (iTunes 8.0.2.20), dragging items from the Store to the source list results in a web address in the form of "http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore..." being the default name.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug in the newer versions of iTunes as the old behavior resulted in a useful playlist name instead of a string of internet address gibberish, which is useless and not very elegant.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem? I filed this as a bug at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html , but maybe someone with a ADC membership can file a real bug report that probably gets looked at and maybe fixed.

Thank you, Katrina, but I really don't care for a "Wish List" playlist.
You can understand how my way of doing things would be useful to me (and hopefully some other people too).
By the way, if iTunes did it the right way before, why should it handle playlist names wrongly now?
In the course of improving their product Apple broke something. So the only sane thing for them to do is fix it or at least show me how to fix it temporarily until it's fixed in a later version.

  • Create a shared playlist between iTunes accounts?

Can you create a shared playlist between 2 iTunes accounts? It would be easier if I could copy songs from one account to the other. However, when I am on the MBP and open the shared account on the iMac, I can see and play the iMac music from the MBP, but I can't seem to be able to transfer songs.

try the suggestions in this support article.

  • Make playlist from itunes store

Ciao I remember that dragging a title of a song or an entire album/ compilation  form itunes store created a playlist which would eventually show me the songs I owned and the song i had to purchased.
Does anybody know how to do that.
    thanks
    Marco

You should be able to still do this, however I think the way you phrased it is dragging it over would create a playlist. Rather, I think what you need to do is make a new playlist first, and THEN drag items onto that playlist. Then yes, you will be able to see which songs you want to buy, and from that playlist you can listen to a preview, as well as a button to buy it right then and there. I tested it out and only songs were able to transfer over, and not albums.
However, if you are using this technique as a "Wish List", there also is another way you can do this. Aside from making a playlist and adding iTunes Store items to it, iTunes Store also provides you with a Wish List for your account.
You can click the little drop down arrow next to BUY for any song, album, movie, episode, etc. and select "Add to Wish List". You can then check your wish list at any time by finding your account name in the upper right hand corner of the toolbar, and using the drop down to pick Wish List. From there you can buy individual items or buy them all with a single click.
    Hope this helps!

  • User Playlists at iTunes Store

What happened to the user playlists that were once available at the iTunes store? The were fun to browse and get download ideas from. Am I missing them or have they been removed?

  • Search for "more" playlists in iTunes Store no longer working

When you get a list of searched playlists on the left-hand side and try to click on "MORE" it dumps right back to same page. Has this feature been discontinued? It seems they are trying to change the way you "interact" with playlists anyway.

ANone of the links in AppZapp Pro HD or AppFree HD would work on the iPad 3. The link to the iPhoto app shown on the web page www.apple.com/uk/apps/iphoto would not work when selected or the "open in app store" option chosen in Safari.
Just tried again and some of the links in AppZapp are now working but the link on the Apple website still only load the app store and does not go on to open up the apps page.
Tried numerous resets before posting here but will try again just to make sure.
The only thing that link should is that the page on the Apple web site. Is that what you are getting? It is not the correct link to open the App Store.
you could also try deleting and redownloading the AppZapp app.

  • I am not able to click on any library/playlist on iTunes 10.5

The title explains most of it. I am unable to click anything on the left hand side bar. I get a Stop Icon replacing my mouse icon every time i click. To navigate through the playlists i have, i have to right click them, to bring the menu up, and then click the song i want to play. Once into the playlist i want to be on, it works fine, it is just clocking onto the playlists/libraries/iTunes Store/Genius etc.
I have checked my mouse, and it works fine. I have re-installed 10.5 and nothing has helped.

Ok, double-clicking has now stopped working for me.  I now have to resort to using the arrow keys.

  • Does iBooks sync through iCloud id or iTunes store account?

My iBooks collections are syncing with the collections of my other family members. We all use our own individual iCloud id's while sharing the same iTunes store account.
This forces us all to turn off "sync collections" and "sync bookmarks" in the iBooks settings of all our devices to keep our individual collections protected. However, it poses a problem because it interferes with my ability to keep my iPhone and iPad iBooks in sync.
Any way to solve this conflict?

    Hey Sean!
It seems like these issues could be related. Let’s troubleshoot the iTunes Store issue and see if the other issue resolves itself after resolving the iTunes Store issue:

  • HT1451 Searching for playlists in iTunes?

A friend of mine published a playlist on iTunes store.  I can not find it.  In fact, I can not even find an option in iTunes store that allows me to search for other user playlists.  Any ideas how to do this?  Thanks !

I've had this exact question.  Does no one have an answer?

  • Can I copy a playlist bought from Itunes store.  So far can not see "burn" as choice under File per info

Bought a compilation CD, 2.3 hours----323MB, and want to make a copy to play in my stereo.  (It has not AUX input so connecting the laptop is not an option)
First time I've done this so put in CD-R and got message to mark the playlist and then choose File--Burn list to CD.
Did so, but no choice offered under File heading like burn.
What's up?  What's wrong.  What to do?
PS Have just installed Itunes 10.5, which doe NOT have an accessible Help file on line, as many have reported.

The store sell songs in protected AAC format, that is ALL they sell. The protection prevents a direct format change. What you can do is burn your purchase to an audio CD, that audio CD can be used in the same manner that you can use any CD you would purchase at your local store.
Any major download site is required to have protection on their files by the major record companies to slow down the chance of illegal file sharing. Napster, the store for the Zune player, all of them will have protection that puts strict limits on what you can/can't do with your purchases. Hope this helps.

  • Can't see my shared playlist in store anymore!

I spent many hours putting together a shared playlist of 50 sailing songs for the iTunes Store. I used to be able to see a link to this in my Account info. but no longer. Also, I can't seem to find it anymore in the store doing a search for "Top 50 Sailing Songs". Where did it go? I hope I don't have to do it over....!

We now have the same problem. From our iMac we can see our PC's iTunes library, but cannot load it; the progress bar runs indefinitely. The PC, however, can see the iTunes library on the iMac. This used to work.

  • Turn Off View iTunes Store & iTunes Sharing?

How can you turn off viewing the iTunes store & the sharing folder/"Home Sharing" in iTunes 9.0 for Mac OSX?
I keep access to these features and viewing theses features off when not using them to gain an uncluttered view of my playlist window.
The new version allows me to disable access to these features in parental controls and also select that I don't want to view file sharing. However after I disable it and say I don't want to view it right now, file sharing still is viewable.
Also noticed: version 9.0 doesn't even allow you the option of temporarily turning off iTunes store. (Yuck.)
If these aren't fixed in future updates, is it possible to go back to better versions?

Not only for the iPhone reason but iTunes 9's wishlist is so crazy ugly and un-sortable. I miss the playlist style shopping cart a la iTunes 8. Is there anyone who has thought of any way to view that wishlist from the outside? Via the web, via an AIR app, etc?

  • Unable to limit sharing of selected playlists in iTunes

I am able to successfully share my entire iTunes library from my primary computer to my other computer and my apple devices.  I want to only share my music but not movies, photos, podcasts, books etc.  I have selected the music and the playlist I wish to share from within Edit/Preferences/Sharing in iTunes.
I even tried putting on a password.
My other computer and devices see everything.  They do not even need to enter a password.
How can i actually limit what the other devices and computer see in my shared library? Is there a file i need to delete or a setting that needs resetting?
If i rename me shared library from my primary computer this new name appears in my devices along with the older name.  Also, everything is visible from them too.  Nothing i do seems to restrict my computer and devices from seeing only the music i wish them to.
    Any suggestions???

I have now done a complete removal and reinstall of itunes using the procedure defined in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 and still no luck. Not one of the videos, movies or TV shows in my iTunes library will play in itunes. ie. none of the m4v files. This all seemed to start when I downloaded a movie from the itunes store. It wouldn't play, and then as descrbed above, none of the others would either.
Whenever I try to play a video, itunes just freezes for a few seconds then nothing. Are there any itunes or windows logs files which I can check ?
Once again, any help would be much appreciated.

  • Sharing a playlist via Itunes Internet with someone at a distanct

I'm wondering if it's possible to privately share an Itunes playlist with a friend across the country via the Itunes website or other means. If so, is there a fee from the Itunes store? Is it private or are we at risk for viruses?
According to the Itunes IPod tutorial, it appeared that playlists could be shared via the Internet, but no info was given, nor could I find any that would indicate the complete process to do this.
I'll be thankful for all of your assistance
