Sharing purchased apps between ipads?

My kids have ipads with separate itunes accounts. is there a way they can share their purchased apps with each other?

I have 2 Ipads that I use in class with kids. We are planning to buy more. I want to know how I can share apps between the two Ipads that we use in class. Do I have to purchase them twice (or 10 times if we have 10 Ipads?)
Yes, you must purchase the app multiple times. Purchases are for your personal use.
It's like any other software. You cannot purchase one copy and install it on all computers in the school.

My husband can see it on his itune account.
I have a book I purchased from the itunes and it is on my ipad mini.

I set up the home sharing on my Mac Itunes.
My husband has a PC but it doesn't matter. He could see my music library but not my book library, yet the home sharing says and displays books in the images of a library.
I wish it was defined what could be shared and what can not be shared. I purchased it from Itunes (Billy Crystals Book - Just Foolin') Great read!! very funny.
Instead my husband reading on my ipad we figured we could share..if you can share purchased music from Itunes, why not books...copy right is copy right..you can give someone a book! same thing.
Look forward to some answers, maybe even from apple!

Use Apple Configurator to deploy your apps. You only need one Apple ID with Configurator. For paid apps, you will need to purchase individual VPP codes and use Apple Configurator to deploy those apps.

ICloud not pushing apps between iPad and iPhone what am I doing wrong

I have a new iPad2 and a new iPhone4. I put iOS5 on both of them. My understanding of this was when you purchased an app on one device it would push to your other devices. I did this and the apps do not push to my other device. I use the same Apple ID for both if that matters. I set up iCloud on both devices, turned everything "on" and created an @me account. I believe you are misunderstanding. You don't sync apps between iPad and iPhone, and iCloud has nothing to do with any of this. There is a setting in Settings -> Store where you can set each device to automatically download NEW apps, meaning that when you buy a new app on one device, the other automatically downloads it. However, this is for new downloads only.
For your existing apps, you can simply connect each device to your computer and move the desired apps to it in iTunes. Or you can go to the App Store and re-download those apps.

I don't want them taking up space on my computer. iPad backups and apps on the cloud are enough to ensure my apps are backed up, so I don't understand why they need to be on iTunes too. As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

Home Sharing Purchased Applications between 2 Different Ipads

By using the Home Sharing feature I have shared Ipad applications between my Ipad and my wifes's Ipad. The first app was a purchased app and it works fine on both Ipads. However, when I shared other purchased apps they do not load when they are selected on the Ipad. Can someone confirm if you are suppose to be able to share purchased apps and if so why they will not launch when selected on the receiving Ipad?

My wife and I have two ipads and share an itunes account. I beleive that is the "supported" method of doing it. You are purchasing the app, not for use on one device, but on all your devices.
This allows you to upgrade and keep all purchased apps on the next device.
We pick and choose, but can have the same apps across both ipads wihout problems this way.
We have not attempted the Home sharing method as of yet.

You can copy the apps from the iPad to your Mac's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, and you can copy documents to/from those apps and your Mac, but if you want to use Pages and Numbers on your Mac then you will need to buy the Mac OS X versions of them from the Mac App Store - the versions that you have on your iPad (iOS) can't be used on a Mac (OS X), they are different operating systems.

Sharing iPhone apps between two accounts on a single mac.

Firstly, apologies if this topic has been covered many times before, I've tried to look, but can't find the exact answer I need.
I have recently purchased two iphones and want to use them on seperate apple ID's - I want different iCloud storage for each phone.
I have a macbook which has two accounts (one for me and one for my wife). When I login to my account I have access to my itunes account and when my wife logins into her account she has access to her itunes account.
I have followed the instructions for sharing musics between two users on the same mac - by moving the itunes media folder to the shared folder on my mac. I have copied everything in that folder (music, movies, apps etc). I have also set up home sharing as I believe that you can share apps between itunes accounts using it. Everything seems to have worked ok in terms of her itunes being able to access the music, movies etc, but the apps don't seem to work properly. I went through the subfolders of the itunes media folder and changed the folder permissions to read and write for everybody (because I was getting a permissions error) and she now has access to the apps that are there (on my itunes account), but the apps that she has downloaded on her phone are not being transferred to the macbook. I've tried the reset warnings suggestion and that hasn't solved the issue.
Am I doing something wrong? Should the apps folder within the itunes media folder not be moved with the music when transferring to the shared folder? Any ideas why music and movies sharing is working ok, but not apps?

Note that when it says "publicly accessible location", it needs to be a place where everyone has read and write access. The most common such place is the Shared folder in the Users folder.

Family sharing purchased app fails to download (repeatedly)

I'm having trouble with iTunes app purchases with family sharing.
Child #1 purchased an app (a few weeks ago)--not a free app.
Parent (sponsoring user) purchased another app (a couple of years ago)--not a free app.
Both apps support family sharing, according to the itunes store listing.
Child #2 with iTunes 11.4, Mac OS X 10.6.8, trying to download either app, gets the same behavior.
Click on the purchase button.
Dialog: "Are you sure you want to buy and download "App name here" ? Your credit card will be charged for this purchase and your app will begin to download immediately. (unchecked box) Don't ask me about buying iOS apps again. (cancel) (buy)"
click "buy"
Next dialog: "A family member has already bought this item. A family member has already purchased this item. To download it again for free, select OK. (cancel) (ok)"

"Pages" not showing in list of purchased apps on iPad

My wife bought "Pages" for her laptop - i want to download it on her iPad, too, but it's not showing on the list of her "purchased" apps. Where do i find her purchase of "Pages" on the iPad?

Pages for iOS and Pages for OS X are two different programs, two separate purchases.
Pages for the iPad is sold in the iTunes App Store.

Lost all my purchased Apps on iPad Air after restoring

Hi,
My iPad just locked itself for some what ever strange reason, and told me to connect it to iTunes. I did so, and it still wouldn't turn on. I tried turning it off and then when turning it on again, I held down the home button (like I was instructed to at Apple Support sites).
When my iPad then came back on, I had to restore it, and all my apps and notes made in pages, were gone.
After a little while of trying to figure out how much I had lost (I bought this iPad Air about 1 month ago), I realised it would not connect my apple ID to Apple store.
Therefore I can not get back any of my previously purchased apps (Pages, Keynote, Visible Body etc)
I tried to look for them on iTunes to see if they could be synchronised there, but without success.
Otherwise the iPad is acting a little strange. Before it had a silent icon in the menu you can pull up from below, and now that icon is missing...
Does anyone know how I can fix this or help me?

i purchased app for my ipad a few months ago. using the same itunes account, i purchase the same app for my iphone. 1 day later i got receipt for purchase that app for iphone. why? my purchase for the ipad was not enough?

That's up to the developer of the app. If you buy an app running on both devices you don't have to pay again when you download another version on your second device.

Sharing purchased apps

My family shares an itunes account. When my kids try to pull up our purchased apps on their ipods in the App Store, it looks like they are loading but then their screen goes black and goes back to the home screen. I'm able to pull up all purchased apps on my ipone, i just can't understand why they don't load up on their ipods. Under settings, they are linked to my itunes account for itunes and App Store.
Any ideas?
