Sharing Saved / Privet IR Reports

Can you share a saved Interactive Report? For example, I know I can query the Report_id from apex_application_page_ir_rpt and place it in the URL as
/f?p=&APP_ID.:26:&SESSION_ID.:apexir_REPORT_ID_22583934398183334
and it will display My saved report. What I want to be able to do is put someone else saved report id in their and view the saved report. Then have the option to save it as my own. This way, you could generate a URL, send it to a friend, and they can see the report. If I place a IR ID that is not mine in their right now, I just get a blank IR page.
I know about the public reports but on just one IR report, I currently have 230 saved reports, and have no need to make all of them public, just a way to share the report without making them download to excel, and email it.

There is a field in the Advanced Attributes of the interactive reports settings called Report ID Item. The help says the following:
Enables you to send a user to a saved view of a report rather then the default, or working view. You specify an item whose value stores the report id of the saved view. Report IDs can be retrieved from the APEX_WORKSHEET_RPTS view.
I would suggest you could use this field as a way to share saved reports between users.
I hope it helps
Shunt

  • "The document 'Backup of Backup of Oral Report' could not be saved as 'Oral Report'. Bad file descriptor"

    Hello,
Whenever I try to save my Keynote file, I receive an error message saying: "The document 'Backup of Backup of Oral Report' could not be saved as 'Oral Report'. Bad file descriptor".
I've tried using other name to save my file, saving the file as a backup, saving it within my documents, and on a USB, but the file won't save. I'm using Keynote '09, Version 5.1.1 (1034) on my Mac Desktop running Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
How can I fix this problem and save my file?

change icloud backup to local backup on this compuet. this worked for me.

  • Crystal Reports 8.5 not saving changes to report criteria

When I use the formula editor to add new criteria to the report criteria formula, the changes are not saved when the report is closed.  It doesn't seem to matter how I exit the formula editor, and I've even tried "save as" and saving the report to a new name prior to closing.  When I reopen the report, the changes are gone.
Sometimes the changes don't even last that long - they often disappear while doing a refresh.
Are there and known bugs that I haven't found - or better yet, any solutions?

    Hi Roberta.
I've had this happen a few times as well.  Usually though a message will come up at some point in time saying.  If the report is locked when you open it, either because someone else has the same file opened in Crystal or if you open the report from an e-mail attachement, a message will come up saying something in the lines of the report cannot be saved and it must be saved to a new file.
When you do the Save As, where are you saving it to?  Try creating a new folder and saving it to that folder.  You should have full permissions to the new folder and I'm hoping it will save.  I just want to eliminate any problems with permissions.  After you save the file, check the properties of the file.  Did the file's date and time update or does it still have the original date?
When you open the report in Crystal, go to File on the menu bar and make sure Save Data with Report is not checked.  Make your changes and rerun the report and save it again.  See if that helps.
These are the two common problems I've had when this happens to me.
    Hope this helps,
    Brian

Well several different versions at different resolutions are saved to the library so it can be played on different devices.  If you don't need this you can speed things up a bit but disabling save to theatre.

  • Issue with use of shared variables in Crystal Reports 2008 Offline Viewer

    Hi,
I have a report that contains a number of sub-reports which include drill-down functionality. The report returns data relating to an individual team with the user being able to view top level summary information in each area from the parent report and then drill into the sub-reports to view see more detail. The data returned by the sub-reports is filtered, using sub-report links, based on the team code parameter value given by the user. This parameter field resides in the main report.
One of the values returned by the main report is the team name. This is passed to each sub-report using a shared variable and each sub-report displays this team name as part of a heading.
This all works fine in Crystal Reports 2008, but when a report, containing data, is opened using Crystal 2008 Offline Viewer there is a problem with the shared variable. The value is displayed correctly when the user initially drills into the sub-report. However, when the user begins to drill into grouped data within the sub-report the value passed to the sub-report using the shared variable disappears.
How can I ensure that, when a report is viewed using Crystal Offline Viewer 2008, the value within the shared variable is not lost when users drill into grouped data within sub-reports
    Thanks
    Stuart

  • Use saved sql in report

    Hello specialists,
I'm just starting with Apex, so sorry in advance for stupid questions, and posts on the wrong topics.
I am making an application in which the user may only view his own records, so I thought I'd make a userdatabase, and put in every SQL
'select * from tablename where "user" = V('APP_USER')', whereas the field user is also in de table with records.
This seems to work, but I have 2 questions about that:
    - is this the best method?
    - instead of putting the SQL mentioned above, I've put it in a 'saved SQL'; is it possible to base a reportregion on this saved SQL, instead of always repeating this SQL in every report I make?
I've tried to base my source of the region on 'select * from mysaved_SQL', but that doesn't work.
Thank you for any reply, and remember I'm just a beginner... ;-)

You might have better luck on the Apex forum
    Oracle Application Express (APEX)
I have no APEX experience, but just in a general, database development comment - I do not think that making a database table full of SQL statements is a good approach. There are much more knowledgeable people on this forum that could explain the technical reasons why, but it just raises a red flag of "bad idea" when I even think about it. This may be totally off base for how Apex works, I don't know.

  • Print-time charting with shared variables on a report without groups...

    hello all,
I have an interesting conundrum; I am working on a report (Crystal XI) with no groups to it, just several subreports. Presently the report is run weekly and sent to the manager of one of our departments.
The report itself showcases all areas of the department with total tasks, longest outstanding task, average days outstanding, MTD tasks completed, and YTD tasks completed. Due to the variety of tables the data pulls from, I have it set up as subreports that simply display the data.
All total, there are 20 different shared variables that have been obtained from 10 different subreports. I have the shared variables set as the running totals from the subreports (hence, all are print time). Since the running totals and all the subreports are time based and are not actually linked to ANYTHING on the main report, I am struggling with how to set up the formulas described in the white paper, "Charting on Print Time Formulas".
The setting up of the two formulas ({@onchngof} and {@showval}) will be different for my situation, as all of the subreports run off of date information relative to when the report is ran. I've got all of the subreports that the shared variables originate in early in the report; but where to from here?
Would I set up maybe a date grouping or some other non-essential consistent grouping to make it work? The way this report is, it really doesn't need grouping, because the main report is just a display agent for the subreports...
As always, any help is greatly appreciated!

Let me ask couple of questions before trying to resolve this.
    1. The chart you are trying to built is placed in which section and is it on Main report or sub-report of its own. This is needed because if you are trying to access shared variables values in Main report, the section should be below the sub-report placed sections.
    2. Try pacing few test formulas in Main report and make sure the correct values are being pulled in on Main report.
If you are successfully pulling the variable values on the report, try creating a simple chart in report footer with the values you have pulled and see if its taking you somewhere...
Would need more information on how those variables are being accessed form sub to main or sub to other sub for example are you making an array of those variables and splitting or bringing it in as separate...

  • Error while saving layout  for report

    Using BIEE 11. (Win64 Server 2003 R2 - russian edition)

  • When and how to update the "saved data" in report ?

    Hi,
The BO version is "BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0"
The case is that, some reports are uploaded withe saved data. while viewing the reports, the reports return the old data.
How to view the update data while click the "View" in CMC/InfoView ?
I have tried to schedule it , then can see the update data in "View the latest instance".
Is there any approach to refresh/update the saved data in the report ?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hello Forest lin,
I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all BOE Administration queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • MMREF Magnetic Media Files Download/Saved from Tax Reporter

Often times when we go to download the MMREF Federal File and various state files that are generated in PU19, they are not in the correct format.  Please explain how these should be downloaded.  Is the process to take the temse file and just download via the download link in the screen?  If so, should they be saved in txt files to view?  Often times it looks like the data is wrapped.  Please help!  We seem to specifically be having a problem with AL at this time.

    Hi
First you need to download the MMREF format in google. so that you will get an idea how it looks like and compare the same with the format you generated from tax reporter. you can download the same by hitting the disk icon and save it in your hard drive in .txt format. Pls open the downloaded txt file. you can able to read those....

  • Saving user Interactive Reports in Production, when migrating a new version

    Hi All,
Interactive Reports allow individual users from creating their own custom reports.
If I were to migrate a modification to the Application, will these overwrite the user's Reports?
If it does, is there any way to save the user reports in Production, while we migrate an updated version of the application?
    Thanks.
    Kevin

    Hi,
This is a very commonly brought up issue. If you keep the same application ID from development to production and don't export the interactive reports from development then they will not be overwritten.
The original metadata will be used. There is an excellent blog post from Joel Kallman of Oracle on this topic which gives much more detail: http://joelkallman.blogspot.co.uk/2010/07/where-did-my-saved-interactive-reports.html
I used the methods discussed in the post when I needed to solve this problem.
    Thanks

  • Apex 4.1.1 Difference in Saving Private Interactive reports

    Hi,
our customers found a difference in saving reports (interactive report) and i am not sure if it is a bug or a feature.
    Environment
    Redhat Linux 5.8 (64bit)
    Oracle 11.2.0.3.0 64bit
    Apex 4.1.1.00.23
    Description:
    - If i change a saved report (move columns or change filter etc.) i go to the action menu choose 'save report' and my saved report are changed permant and in the session. Thats ok and are to be expected.
    - If i change a saved report and click on the link_ of the saved report (on top of the Interacive report, the dialog box seems to be the same), only the session version of the report gets changed!
I have checked this several times with the view APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_RPT.
    Is this a bug?
    regards,
    Wolfgang

    Hi Wolfgang,
The behavior you are seeing is not a bug, but rather designed behavior. The saved report link in the report settings is rename report link. If you hover over the link, Rename Report bubble displays. You can change the report attributes such as name, public and description. To save the report settings (filter, highlight, sort, control break, etc.), you need to click Actions > Save Report to save.
    Regards,
    Christina
