Sharing To Do's through Mobile Me publishing?

I have a question about how to share the To Do's that are displayed in my iCal. Events are published to me and the person I am sharing with easily through Mobile Me (we both have accounts). However the To Do's aren't sent and updated by automatically. I can't figure out why. Under the Publishing to Mobile Me settings all of the options are chosen, including publishing To Do's.
Also, these To Do's aren't associated to a date. It's just a working list that we are working on and tick off as we get them done. Is it not possible to share your To Do's if you don't associate them to a Date to be Completed?
I am aware that you can mail the To Do to another person, but we were hoping that they can be linked, so that changes can be reflected through a sync, like how the notes in our Address Book's sync with each other automatically through Mobile Me.

Watch the QuickTour of the mail feature. That may prove enlightening.

I currently use an iPhone, an iPad, and a Mac computer for business.  The three devices have Contacts Managers that sync with each other through both Google and through Mobile Me.  Currently, this has created a mess of duplicate contacts.  Please advise me on the steps necessary for removing these duplicates and establishing a syncing solution that doesn't regenerate the duplicates.  There are several applications available that remove duplicates, but I am not sure which ones work or don't work.  I want information on this, but most importantly I want to understand how to fix this problem permanently.  Also, I read somewhere that Mac's new operating system, Lion, can help deal with duplicates.  I don't have Lion, but I would be willing to get it, if this would fix the problem.

Had the same problem with 4 devices (two computers, an iPhone and an iPod). The solution is simple: open the Address Book application in your mac, ask it to locate duplicate entries (under one of the top menu items, "edit" I think), and then ask it to consolidate them: it took me all of three seconds after I figured it out: worked like a charm! PS: if you have more than one mac with unconected Address Books, repeating the operation in the second one may be a good idea.

  • Purchase Order Approval through Mobile Phone / BlackBerry

Dear fellows i am interested in Purchase Order Approval through Mobile Phone / BlackBerry. I have seen MSCA Mobile Supply Chain Application Guide but that is for telnet only devices and specific to supply chain. What are setup requirements to make PO approve though "Web App" or "Mobile App" as show in below image URL. We need to work it primarly on BlackBerry.
    http://www.exforsys.com/images/OracleApps/t10_files/image010.gif
That will require logging in to EBS through Mobile and Making EBS available on Public IP !?! If this all fuss needs to be done then is there some Notification Alert type mechanism which sends email, but here a user could also reply that email with keywords to Approve or Reject that PO !?!
    Thank you.

Dear Hussein, ur links are iPhone specific and also BPEL Connector specific ("Oracle Buisness Approvals for Managers" BPEL Connector). The links for Blackberry assume that i am atleast already getting emails on blackberry through EBS. Our env is through MS Exchange Server. Where as i believe from ur suggected docs that the EBS needs to have its own direct setup with blackberry
In our current env we are using Oracle Alerts to Just send an email to user that PO for approval is waiting. We are NOT using "Oracle WorkFlow Notification Mailer". For blackberry will we be locked to use Workflow Mailer (i see patch 6802716 pre req also)!?! or we can still use simple Alerts!?!
following thread says type "approve" in reply whereas metalink guides tell a URL to click in email. will it be a ...
    href="mailto:[email protected]?body=approve"
    type URL!?!
    http://oracle.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/oracle-apps-l/po-approval-through-mail-3077383
    ===============================================================
There are a couple of steps that need to be complete before this will work.
    Pre- Req's
    1. Associate all apps users / approvers with email addresses
    2. sync apps users with workflow
    3. Check workflow users to make sure email is set to HTML.
    4. Configure and enable workflow mailer. You will need configuration information for the email service being used and a mailbox on the email service.
    5. Send a test message from workflow mailer to an apps user.
If this is successful, then email based approval will work. If the user tries to approve using a smart phone (blackberry, etc.) they will have to hit reply and type approve as the message for approval to work.
this guy also points to this idea.

Approving Requisitions/PO’s in Oracle E-Business Using Blackberry Devices
Presentation of a solution using Blackberry Devices to approve requisitions and purchase orders in Oracle E-Business Suite. This solution required creating a text message to send to Blackberry users, and modifying the Workflow Java Mailer to be able to correctly read the default messages being sent back from blackberry devices. In addition, profile options were created that allowed simple key strokes to be translated into Approve or Reject options recognized by Oracle Workflow Java Mailer.

  • PI - monitoring queues through Mobile apps

    Dear Team,
Currently we are on PI 7.3 version and client has come up with the expectation of exploring the possibility of PI queue monitoring through Mobile apps.
We are going to upgrade our system to 7.4 in couple of month so any solution for ver 7.3 or 7.4 would work for us.
I have searched sdn links but don't find convincing solution. Any suggestions/Inputs ?
    Regards,
    Deepti

    Hi Deepti,
Have a look at cbs PI MeMo App for MobiIe Message Monitoring
I tried that in the past and it looks great. Only limitation if I'm not mistaken: no installation on iPhone possible. Perhaps now it is possible. That one you need to check.
    Kind regards,

  • File and Printer sharing on Windows 7 Through Group Policy

    Hi,
I was wondering how to enable File and Printer sharing on Windows 7 Through Group Policy. I have enabled the policy called: Allow inbound file and printer sharing exception.
But when I go to advanced sharing settings, it's still turned off.
Windows Server 2003 AD Domain, and I'm using the Group Policy Manager from my Windows 7 machine to edit the policy.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, there is no Group Policy setting for enabling and disabling File and Printer sharing. To do this, you may need to write a script and you can go to our Scripting Forum for help.
In addition, I would like to share the following with you:
Enable or Disable File Sharing for a User or Group by Using Group Policy

    Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Survey through mobile phone

    Hi,
I want to create a survey through mobile phones..Basically would like to create an application sort , which will send a survey form via sms and also record the response via a sms in a particular server. I have very little experience in java and J2me..and hence it would be great if someone can guide me..as to how I can go about doing this.....
My requirement would be broadcast the survey form to the mobiles ...
Basically what would be my basic requirements for this and how can I go about developing the application and also what would be the required harware??
Looking foward to some help ...
    Thanks,
    Hitesh

There are two approaches for this
    1. Connect your mobile phone to the server using the wired interface and use the hyperterminal utility to send SMS commands to the mobile
    phone
2.use an SMS gateway to send your text messages . google it (sms gateway services) and you will be suprised by the number that turn up.
    Cheers

  • Installing certificate (.crt ) file through mobile safari browser

    Hi,
I have requirement I need to download and install my server certificate through mobile safari browser.
I tried it it is able to downlaod it but it is not installing automatically. It is asking for manual click to install that certificate.
Is this iOS browser feature? is this happen with all server certificates ?
Is there a way by which I can make it automatic install. NO manual click should be required.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    iSPT

That crash is caused by a bug. The easiest way to recover from it seems to be to install Safari 6; however, Software Update won't find it and there's no official download link. Unofficially, you can download the update from here:
    http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/37/23/041-5058/lr5tynbldi18zcrqo8a8uq88 rnjushqliu/Safari6Lion.pkg
If you don't have a working web browser and can't download the file on another device, proceed as below. You should have received a notification of this message in email. Retrieve that notification in Mail. If you don't get email notifications, mail a copy of this message to yourself.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
In your mail client, triple-click the line below to select it, then drag or copy into the Terminal window — do not type — and press return:
    cd Desktop; curl -O http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/37/23/041-5058/lr5tynbldi18zcrqo8a8uq88 rnjushqliu/Safari6Lion.pkg
The update package will download to your Desktop. When the download is complete, a new line ending in a dollar sign ("$") will appear below what you entered. Quit Terminal and double-click the package file.

  • Sample JAVA Mobile Server Publish code, and technical questions

Dear Oracle technical representative, or user:
I need to programmatically create, and remove publications using the pure JAVA classes of Consolidator, ConsolidatorManager, and ResourceManager for the Mobile Server in OracleLite 9i Release 5.0.1. On the creation side I have managed to get the example found in the directory OraLite501\Mobile\Server\Sample\Sample11 functioning using my installation parameters. I had a very difficult time of it because (1) the sample11 code fails to open an jdbc connection to the Mobile Server Repository Schema with the function Consolidator.OpenConnection, and (2) the ResourceManager function openConnection will not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory. The ConsolidatorManager function OpenConnection may also not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory, but I did test the hypothesis. Both of these problems need to be addressed in the sample11 code, and documentation to save other software developers from wasting hours of their valuable time. See line 223, 386, and 448 in the Publish.Java code that follows this problem description.
With the above two problems resolved, I can now programmatically create publications, but no hints on how to programmatically remove a publication exist in the documentation. The application I am developing will require the dynamic creation, and removal of publications. Also, when developing applications the complete removal of a publication is absolutely necessary when you have botched a publication. Thus my first question is What sequence of ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager function calls will completely remove a Publication?.
I also have two issues remaining with the code that I have so far developed. These issues will most likely be resolved, when I obtain instructions on how to completely remove a publication, and associated users. But, perhaps not. Referencing the Publish.java file that follows this problem description,
         1. The ResourceManager function dropUser does not drop a user. See my comments, and code beginning at line 277 in Publish.java. Do I need to de-instantiate all subscriptions, and unsubscribe all subscription users before calling this function.? I think, I tried the de-instantiate, unsubscribe sequence without success, but in the confusion I may not have made the try.
         2. How do I get rid of an index created with the ConsolidatorManager function DropPublicationItemIndex?. My comments on this problem begin at line 522 in Publish.java. For some reason the DropPublicationItemIndex function call made below line 448 does not work. What function calls are required prior to calling the DropPublicationItemIndex function?
Throughout the Publish.java code, I have made comments about some of the problems that I have had in getting the sample11 code working for my installation parameters. I think these comments should help the programmers maintaining the ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager code improve the stability of the programs. Please pass these comments, and attached files to the appropriate individuals,
if you are in a position to do so.
The other files that follow the Publish.java code are
         1. Compile.bat - Compiles Publish.java using j2sdk1.4.0.
         2. Run.bat - Executes Publish using \ j2sdk1.4.0\jre\server\jvm.dll.
         3. Webtogo.ora
         4. tnsnames.ora for the Mobile Server.
         5. tnsnames.ora for the Database.
Feel free to access my server if you need to do so in resolving my problems. The parameters you will need to gain access can be found at the top of Publish.java, and in the included *.ora files.
    Thanks,

    Thanks,
    Thomas G. Matney

I shared many of my iPhoto albums with my friends and family through the Mobile Me Gallery.   Now that that's gone, what do you recommend to replace this web-sharing of photos and videos?

    I use SmugMug.

  • Is it possible to link a shared calender to multiple users mobile devices?

We are trying to use an outlook shared calendar to schedule day to day activities in a remote location where desktop access is limited. Is it possible to view a shared calendar thru mobile devices that have an outlook account> So far the only participant
that can view the calendar on his phone is who ever created it.

They cannot access it via the shared mailbox or as a shared calendar in their mailbox. If you use the Share calendar feature to generate an ics link, or publish the calendar, users should be able to subscribe to the calendar by adding the ics link to their
calendar app. (I know it works in iOS devices, have not tried on Android or WinPhone.)

  • File not found in shared folder when transferred through Open Dataset

    Dear Experts,
I am transferring a file to a shared folder using open dataset .
The sy-subrc value returns as 0 . But i am not able to find the file in the destined path.
But when i try to retrieve the file from the same path through CG3Y to my local PC ,  i am able to retrieve the file.
Could you please throw some light into this as to why this is happening.

  • Sharing a  groupwise calendar through iCal

I use an iPhone for my work but our appointments and mail are managed through groupwise. While my groupwise calendar syncs fine with iCal, the problem I'm having is that there is no "share" option in iCal for me to share that calendar with my partner. I can share any other calendar but not that one. Any ideas??
    Thanks in advance...
    WI

Very clear question, but it doesn't look like there's a good answer for you. The MobileMe entries are "all or nothing" - each machine synced to that one account would receive ALL of the subscribed calendars.
Note that you could always choose to disable (i.e. not view) the calendars which you don't want to see, within iCal, just be unchecking them in the list. So, your display would enable your calendars, including the shared entry; and her display would enable only her calendars, including the shared entry. The others would still exist on each machine, but they wouldn't clutter your iCal display, if you didn't want them to.
Outside of that, the only want to have multiple editors for a shared calendar would be to use a 3rd party product such as Spanning Sync - see http://www.spanningsync.com/. I hope that helps…
