    I always get this message when I try to activate facetime on my Ipod.The internet connection at home is fine and am able to surf through web pages etc.  I went through the complete troubleshooting provided by Apple but in vain. There is no restictions or firewall.

    - Go to Settings>General>Time&Date and make sure it is set to Automatic
    - Go to Settings>wifi>the connected network and change the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8

    So our school lets us use Macbook Airs for the school year, and it has facetime on it. I know facetime isn't blocked because like everyone else is using it. So I decide to give it a try. I click the icon, it says enter your apple ID. I dont have one, so I click to make one, and do so. I then enter my apple ID and click next. The screen reads "People will call you using your email address. What email address would you like to use?" I enter my email address in the box below the message, and then go to my email and click the link, and sign in, thus verifying the email. I go back to the facetime window, and click next. At the top it says Verified, but when I click next it doesn't go on to the next step, it simply blacks out the next button so that I can not click it, and after a few minutes a message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
    So that is the issue, please help!!!!!
    *Note-I repeat that I know it is not blocked by the school because everyone else uses it just fine.*

    Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using.  FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in.  This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly.  By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you.  Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Sorry, there's no way around Activation Lock. So, give the phone back to your "friend", as you will never be able to use it.

    Bottom line is that you must provide more information and have tried to analyze it yourself...

  • 522 IP REPUTATION BAD (please check for IP address...

    Hello,
    We are a big hosting provider within the UK with multiple servers and thousands of hosted websites.
    We have recently migrated a shared hosting server to new hardware and a new set of IPv4 IP addresses (freshly assigned by RIPE).
    Customers hosted on this new server are trying to send emails to @btinternet and @btopenworld mailboxes using our smtp email server but they receive a bounce back stating "522 IP REPUTATION BAD (please check for IP address listing on reputation services)"
    I have checked our shared IP address that is used to send email and it comes back squeeky clean!
    What I need help with is who can I speak to to find out why our IP address was blocked and how to go about getting it removed again.
    I tried BT's automated telephone service who put me through the the broadband team - They were helpful but kept giving me new numbers of departments I needed to phone which sent me on a wild goose chase returning me back to the same department again.
    There must be a BT Yahoo email postmaster department I can get ahold / speak to regarding this...
    Any help or advise please?

    Hi there, are you having trouble logging into the ePrint Center at this point (see the image below)?
    If so, you can click on the Forgotten your password link where you will be prompted to enter the e-mail address you used to setup your ePrint Center account. If you can't remember the e-mail you used to setup the account you can do the following:
    From the display on your printers front panel remove web services by clicking Setup>Wireless>Web Services
    Once this is done, re-enable web services by following the same path. The printer should print an information sheet once you've re-enabled web services. This sheet will contain a new printer code. 
    In ePrint Center click the Sign-In button and then select the Sign Up option at the top of the box
    Go ahead and setup a new ePC account and when prompted enter the new printer code from the information sheet
    Your printer is now no longer attached to your old ePC account and will show up in the Printers section of your new account.
    Just be aware that the printer now has a new e-mail address so if you've shared the previous address with family or friends you'll need to let them now the new one.

    My bad if I am posting this is the wrong section, I have never had to use the BB forums. 
    I went to print out my certificate last weekend and was unable to log on. I tried to reset my password but got a message
    "The email address and password entered are not in our records. Please check for accuracy and try again. If you are not a registered user, please create an account. If you think there is an issue with your account, please contact Customer Care at 888-BESTBUY (888-237-8289).
    At first I thought it was a glitch over the weekend so I waited. I still cannot log onto my account. I just made this account so I can get some help. 
    Does anyone know of a solution where I won't have to call the hotline?
    BTW if it helps a moderator, the email I used to create this forum account is the same as my BB reward email

    Sorry to hear about the login problem. The resolution depends on the error you're getting. If it's more like a username/password issue, you can retrieve that by choosing Forgot password option.
    Let me know if there's any other error message.

    If your email address is valid, just go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click "Manage your account" to the right,sign in, click  Name, ID, and Email Addresses to the left, then click "Verify now" next to your email address.  Apple will send you an email to this address with a verification link.  Otherwise add an alternate email address that can be verified.

    A couple of different approached:
    Create a second AppleID for one of you that includes the email address and phone number you wish to use for messaging, but do not apply it to the iTunes and app store (just keep the current one). My wife and I do this and it works quite well. Also allows for easier syncing of Contacts , notes etc. using icloud if you wish to do that.
    Add additional emails/phone numbers to the existing account and change the Send/Receive settings for Messages. this will not fix the Contcts isues for you however.

    If you are talking about your Apple ID and iCloud email, yes, it is possible, but again the phones will mirror.   You should not have the same Apple ID and iCloud both.

    In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
    I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
    In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.
