Sharing to Flickr - where are my titles?

When I had iPhoto '09 I used to export my photos to the desktop then upload them to Flickr as I didn't like the way the flickr albums were added to the side of iPhoto under "Web".
With iPhoto '11 I decided I dodn't mind having "Flickr" once at the side and the albums within that so I decided to try sharing my photos. Problem being it hasn't uploaded the Titles to Flickr (these were just the files names, but even still I wanted them). Is there a way to get the filenames to be shared too or is this something else that iPhoto '11 does badly?
As an aside, I've also had nightmares like everybody else getting iPhoto to work correctly. It works ok for my user account but when my wife uses it iPhoto keeps crashing when creating books - also, some themes appear to be missing (i.e. says that you can change to have 4 photos on a card but when you click it just stays blank).
Thanks in advance for any help.

TIA:
Are you using the Flickr plugin for iPhoto? With it you select the photos you want to export and go to the File->Export->Flicker menu option.
If you're using the Finder to upload then there's no album folder you can uses. With iPhoto 6 the albums are virtual entities and maintained in the AlbumData.xml file. What you'll need to do is export those files to a folder on the desktop, resizing them as needed in the process, and then upload from there to flickr.

  • Where are my title presets?

Well, actually I know they are on the hard drive, I found them. I can import them individually into my project from the hard drive. Why don't they show up as options in the titler where I can pick & choose?

OK. Have no idea. Did you try one off these options.
Have you installed the latest update?

  • Aperture movies being viewed in imovie ... Where are the titles??

My movies are just one giant gob when I view them in imovie (the aperture movies). At one point, before I installed aperture (and used iphoto), they were subdivided by the album names (folders) of the movies. How can I get those back???

I noticed this problem right away.  They way they told me to fix it, is create some sort of jpeg document that has the name in it, and add it to the file on itunes as artwork.  So, for example, I made a powerpoint document with the name of each file as a separate slide.  Then I saved it as jpeg which created a folder with one document for each slide.  Then you have to select the file in itunes, go to Get Info, and then hit the artwork tab and add the corresponding jpeg file as artwork.  I tested this out and it works, but I have not and probably will not do it for all.  Just too much work and I hope they will fix it.

  • Where are imported shared libraries defined

in system-application.xml, the imported-shared-libraries are defined as :
    <imported-shared-libraries>
    <import-shared-library name="oracle.dms"/>
    <import-shared-library name="oracle.jdbc"/>
and these are used in server.xml like:
    <import-shared-library name="oracle.jdbc"/>
my questions is where does the imported libraries name and actual jar files defined. for ex. for the name oracle.jdbc, where are the jar libraries location defined?
I got a problem looks like application server not able to find these jars unless I copy them to the applib folder.
    Thanks

Additional shared libraries may be configured to override the default shared libaries, including the oracle.jdbc library.

  • Where are Shared Photos from iPhoto in iTunes?

So I open iPhoto, select a photo, choose share to iTunes. iPhoto says it is transferring the photo to iTunes. However, when I look in iTunes, I cannot figure out where I am supposed to see the file I transferred.
Anybody know how this is supposed to work?
I'm running the latest everything ...

Thanks, it wasn't all that intuitive in iTunes, sinc e you have to scroll down to see it.
A little confused about what happens after I saved it to my Mac.
The file still shows up in the sharing pane, and there seems to be no way to get rid of it. How exactly does this work? Was the file actually transferred to iTunes from my phone, or is iTunes only transferring it to my Mac when I choose to save it to my Mac? If the latter, then the items in the sharing pane of iTunes are essentially aliases, but how do I delete them from the list once I downloaded them?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Does anyone know where are sound and sharing preferences stored in plist on mac mini on OS 10.8?

  • Why aren't titles saved with the project? Where are they?

    cs5  PC.
Why aren't titles saved with the project? Where are they? Can I get them to be saved with the project?

they aren't able to be exported as an entire bin folder ready for importing into another if needed.
Oh, but they are! You can select multiple titles, or even a bin containing multiple titles, and use the same File > Export > Title command. Premiere Pro will ask you where you want to save the first (and change the name, but it will default to the name given in the project), and then will automatically export all selected titles without further user intervention. You can import them en masse or in a folder (to create a bin automatically) into another project.

  • Where are shared iPhoto streams stored?

Where are shared iPhoto streams stored? Is it on my phone, ipad, etc? Where does it take up space?

On the device that create the shared photo stream, and on every device that subscribes to it.  They do not, however, use storage in your iCloud account.

  • Where are the files stored for shared applications?

    Hello,
When I go to iTunes/iPad/Apps and then choose Pages under "File Sharing" and move a few files over, where are those files stored? Does iTunes make another copy and store it somewhere or does it just reference the location I copied from?
Also, if I move a file over and then delete that file, does it delete from the File Sharing section as well the next time I sync?

The information/data for apps is stored together with the app in both the iPad and in the backup on your computer. When you drop a file in the file sharing section of apps it gets added to the backup and to the iPad. When you delete it it get deleted from the backup and from the iPad.

  • Where are my important files located in Leopard 10.5?

I had an old file from apple titled "Where are my important files located?" which applied to 10.3. I could not find this same doc for 10.5. It had the location of all the important files for safari, mail, address book, etc. and was handy when I was mirgrating files or backing up or so forth. Is there now an updated file/doc for this with regards to 10.5 Leopard? Or is every important file's location still located in the same location? Thanks

    Hi Teal,
I'm a big "foggy" on a lot of the OS X 10.3 "Panther" stuff but I think you'll find OS X 10.5 to be pretty similar in most regards.
As far as your user information, everything related to your user will be in the /Users/username location. The "Library" folder is probably the most important when it comes to application related data such as Safari, Mail, Address Book, iCal, etc. Some applications will have a folder directly inside the library folder (/Users/Username/Library/ApplicationName) and some will store data in the Application Support folder (/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/ApplicationName)
The important thing, is that all of your user data is stored in the /Users/Username location that will often be represented by a "House" icon when signed into that user.
Where it gets a little tricky, is some applications will store data in the /Users/Shared location and the /Library location. So if you ever do a total system migration there's a possibility you'll need to reinstall some applications. A Time Machine backup can assist with system migrations as it does a full and complete backup of your HD, including the User's home folder.

  • Sharing to flickr doesn't push the metadata of modified photos

In iPhoto 09, we can share photo on flickr.
There is a very annoying problem though. If a photo has been modified in iPhoto, the metadata is lost (well, it's not lost really, since it's kept in a database outside of the file) but the file corresponding to the working copy of the photo doesn't contain the metadata of the original file. Although this is very annoying for many reasons, I understand that one photo in iPhoto is not necessarily 1 file. Fine.
The problem is that contrary to when a photo is exported, the metadata is not added to a photo that is shared on flickr (using the new 09 "share to flickr feature").
It works correctly when sharing on facebook though.
Here is a very basic scenario:
Take a photo in "landscape" mode and another in "portrait" mode.
Import them in iPhoto. Normally, the one in "portrait" mode will be rotated automatically by iPhoto so that it is displayed as it was meant to be display (great).
Select those 2 photos and share them on flickr.
The one in portrait mode will not have a "date/time taken" so the value will be the same as for "date/time uploaded". The one in "landscape" mode should be fine.
I think this is because the file that is shared for the picture in landscape mode is still the original file while the one for the portrait photo is a working copy that doesn't contain the metadata.
Is this a bug? Any chances to get a fix?

    I believe so.
I have done some more tests and it looks like only the photos that have been rotated automatically because they were taken in portrait mode are affected.
For example, the pictures that I have modified in iphoto are exported AND shared on flickr with all the metadata. So it is not a matter of having a working copy of the original photo or having the original photo file.
It is really only for pictures that were taken in portrait mode.
I have done this simple test:
I import a photo that was taken in portrait mode, and export it with all the possible information check box checked (including location)
=> the exported photo doesn't contain the "generated date" and contains very little metadata (it does contain the location though).
I then go back to iPhoto, and "revert" the photo "to original". It doesn't appear to change, and it still is displayed in portrait mode. But now if I export it, the export contains the full metadata.
If I export a photo that got heavy modifications but that was taken in landscape mode, all the metadata is there.
So it really looks like a bug related to the "portrait" automatic orientation. The metadata is lost somehow...

  • Where are my sparsebundles? Missing...

    Hey guys,
If I view my TC all I see is a folder that says "backups.backupdb / MyComputerName / and then a lot of folders dated with subfolders for the same computer. I've been backing up several computers to this TC and am a little concerned that I don't see any sparsebundle files. Where are they or what is going on?
    Thanks so much.
    Best,
    Rob

    Welcome to the discussions!
If you open Macintosh HD, you should be able to see the Time Capsule icon under the SHARED heading on the left side of the window.
Click on the TC icon and a folder will appear to the right
Double click this folder and you should see a xxxxx.sparsebundle file for each computer that has been backing up to the device. The "x" may designate the name of the computer or a portion of its MAC address.

  • Where Are My Missing Master Images?

I keep my Aperture Library as a "managed" library rather than "referenced, so every master image is kept inside the Aperture Library icon.
Today I decided to look inside my Aperture Library (by selecting Show Package Contents), and I can only find master images from the past five years. The "Master" folder contains folders for projects I've titled 2012, 2011, and back to 2008. None of the earlier images that I keep in Aperture, 2007 through 2003, appear in the "Master" folder in the Aperture Library, and there are no folders for 2007 and earlier.
    That is, if I look in Aperture Library -> Master -> I see folders for 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008. But that's it!
There are also no folders inside Preview for those earlier years, or inside Thumbnails.
    And yet...
And yet when I'm in the Aperture application, I can Export any of the images, all the way back to 2003. So the master images are obviously available to Aperture somewhere. They exist. And I checked -- those earlier missing images not Referenced, they're Managed, just like the whole library.
    So where are they??
I dug through other folders inside the Aperture Library package but didn't find a thing.
    Help!

But I'm digging around inside the package and still puzzled -- images inside the folder Aperture Library.aplibrary -> Masters -> 2009 -> 06 -> 14 -> 20090614-214439/ were indeed shot on June 14, 2009. So it appears that those various level folder names reflect image creation date, not the import date.
    Joe,
these various level folder names reflect what Aperture thinks are the import dates.
The "Import Session" is one of the Aperture specific Metadata tags. You can display it in the Info/Metadata pane of the Inspector Panel, if you add it to one of the presets, and then you'll know, where to search, if you absolutely must to sleep well .
You can also use this tag to search or to define a smart album. For example, the image below has been captured in 2003, but was imported in 2010, and will be found in a 2010 folder.

    Léonie
