  • How to get email and sms alerts in 9i

    Hi,
    I want to know that is there any method in 9i by which we may get mail and sms alerts whenever anything goes wrong with the database?
    Thanx

    Why pay for something if you already have it, included in your license?
    Only because you have to read documentation to use it?
    Oracle will sooner or later include functionality in their monitoring products, they don't include in the RDBMS. In 10g you already rather use the controls than call the PL/SQL Apis directly.
    Apart from that: the third party products you seem to promote, usually implement very limited functionality.

  • Email and SMS Alerts - Solution Manager - PI and EP

    Hi All,
    I am trying to do the below scenario.....But somehow i am lost in the process.
    I have a three system PI landscape and a Solution Manager. I have included the DEV PI in solution manager for CCMS,the CCMS agents are online and it also reflects in RZ20.
    Now the requirement is SOLMAN should send email and sms alerts in below situations which occur in PI system.
    1.The ABAP or JAVA engine goes down.
    2.One of the filesystem crosses certain predefined limit.
    3.Any of the java server node stops working
    4.If any critical job gets cancelled in sm37
    I am looking at steps on how to define the alert categories, auto reaction methods, also the nodes where i have to assign these auto reaction methods.
    I have gone through CCMS documentations, played all sim files and gone through most of the pdf files but i am not able to establish proper steps to do it.
    I am Redhat Linux,Oracle 10g, SOLMAN 7 with PI7
    Can i extend the same for the EP systems also which are pure Java Stack Systems ?
    Also i would like to know if i can send customized alert messages.
    Best Regards
    Raghu

    Hi Juan,
    Thanks for your response.
    I am looking at the MTE classes i.e for the above situations which MTE classes are required.
    Also i have read in some document that we can send the alerts directly to the email IDs and cell numbers without having to mention them in user masters in SU01. Where to mention these ?
    I have my SCOT settings done for email servers.
    The process which i had built up in my mind is all mixed up and i am lost where to do which configuration
    Best Regards

  • Email and sms alerts against Quality Notifications

    I need to send an e-mail and an sms alert to various people within the organisation and to the respective vendor whenever I create a Quality notification. I also need to attach a copy of the print out of the notification in Smart form alongwith the mail. Please suggest.

    Hi,
    You can send the e-mail to all concerned via standard workflow or via using some exits at the time of saving of notification also.
    Thanks

    Is it possible to exclude single contacts from the mute? For example: I want to hear when I recieve an SMS alert even if I mute my iPhone 4 (I am a fireman).

    No iPhone apps have access to the necessary API's to do so...they're all sandboxed.

  • SMS alert - I dont want the name of the sender appearing on the screen

    Prior to downloading the recent upgrade, my SMS alert would simply notify me that I had a new text message but would not identify the sender. Now, the sender's names appears on the screen. How can I change my setting so that the sender's name is not visible?

    The SMS preview has been changed in the new firmware, see this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1797569&start=0&tstart=0
    So displaying the senders name can't be switched off. But you can forward your wish here:

                $headers .= "X-Priority: 1 (Highest)\n";
                $headers .= "X-MSMail-Priority: High\n";
                $headers .= "Importance: High\n";
                // Additional headers
                $headers .= 'From: Rakesh <[email protected]>' . "\r\n";
                foreach($disemail as $email)
                    $to = $email;

    How to opt out of Pre-Paid SMS alerts and confirmations
    While you can opt out, we strongly recommend you don't, as alerts and confirmations are a great way to stay on top of your balance and expiry dates.
    To opt out, text the word 'stop' to 125 8884. This is a free service. You'll receive a confirmation message, but due to scheduling it may take up to 24 hours for all alerts to stop. Note, mandatory SMS notifications will still be sent.
    These may include:
    Mandatory confirmation of self-service options, e.g. recharges, change of offer and Plus Pack purchases
    Pre-Paid marketing offers with a separate opt out
    Mandatory global roaming alerts
    MessageBank notifications
    Occasional Telstra service messages
    If you opt out of Pre-Paid SMS alerts and confirmations, you can still check your balance and expiry dates using your device or online. Find out more about Managing your Pre-Paid service.
    To opt in again, call our Pre-Paid customer service team on 125 8880.

    View SMS messages using a mobile broadband device
    Using USB devices, messages are sent to the Connection Manager. If you're connected using a Wi-Fi hotspot, access messages on your device at http://m.home
    Check your device user manual to learn if it's SMS capable, or follow these steps:
    Step 1
    Connect your Pre-Paid mobile broadband device
    Step 2
    Type http://m.home into your browser
    Step 3
    Click the 'SMS' tab to see if you can view SMS messages

    It doesn't address what I needed help with
    I am in Malaysia with Telstra Long Life so I can receive my banking secure code when necessary from St George. However, it never arrives in time, if at all. So basically the service is useless for me and I have wasted $80. What can be going wrong and how can i ensure I receive a bank secure code sms in time that I can use it before the banking website cuts it off?
    I also cannot see on the My account page where I can get the online help. I think this should always be in the bottom corner of the page as I have spent ages looking for it - depending where you are on Telstra's site, sometimes it is there and sometimes not. VERY confusing.
    Thank you Janet Mills

  • How to make SMS ALERT VIBRATE longer?

    When ever my phone is in my pocket, and i have it on vibrate, i never know when i have a text message beacuse the vibration alert is too short (not even a second long!). is there anyway it prolong the vibration for SMS alerts?

    This is not something that is user programmable. The only thing is the repeat alert for the SMS which will vibrate it again.

    few years back..
    now I have to configure the SMS notification on a Virtual Box of SCOM 2012...
    any idea ? what could be done ?
    Regards, Owais

    Hi,
    I think you need to make the SMS modem work with the virtual machine first. Then, configure the notification in SCOM consol.

  • ? Changing SMS Alert Behavior

    I want to ditch my pager and use SMS alerts sent to my iPhone from my answering service. However, the incoming SMS alerts are 1) too soft, 2) too brief, and 3) only repeat once. I am afraid this will not be sufficiently loud enough to wake me up from a good sleep.
    Are there any non-jailbreak options to make the alerts more annoying to ensure I will respond to messages at night?

    3) only repeat once
    If you have *Settings > Messages > Repeat Alert* set to ON you will be alerted twice more if you ignore a message.

  • Receive billing email or sms alerts

    You can get an email or SMS sent to yourself when your bill arrives, using My Account online.
    If you haven't yet registered for My Account, registering will give you access to manage your bills and accounts online, in your time. To register, see My Account for new users.
    For registered users, follow these instructions:
    Step 1
    Log into My Account
    Step 2
    Select Bill & Payment settings
    Step 3
    If you don't already have email bill, select Switch to email bill.Enter your email address, re-enter it, accept the terms & conditions and save
    Step 4
    Select more options.You will be taken to the Bill Delivery & Reminders page. Make sure the correct account number is selected.In Set Your Reminders, tick whether you'd like to receive your bill reminders by email, SMS or both for each of the four available times:
    when your bill becomes available
    2 days before your payment is due
    when your payment is late
    when a scheduled payment is processed
    Enter the mobile number you wish to receive the messages on (if applicable), and confirm the email address is correct
    Step 5
    Review the information and if it's all correct, select Update.

    Re: Receive billing email or sms alerts
    I currently receive an email to advise my account is available included is an attachment containing the actual bill.
    however now that attachment is missing and I do not know which account it refers to.
    I do not wish to use the Myaccount facility as I already have too many passwords etc to use and remember & at my age I suffer some memory loss. If the previous attachment method is no longer available I will have to return to the unreliable Aust post system where my mail often fails to arrive. Due to various medical conditions I am often not at my residence. but am able to keep track of incoming bills by email.
