Shatter effect not working?!

Hi,
I am trying to shatter a freeze frame from a video, yet when i apply the shatter effect on, all that comes up is the end of the animation, so like the shatter has already happened and only the outside 'bricks' and left with no animation before hand, i would really appriciate it if you would help me,

It sounds like you need to have the Shatter effect's forces begin to operate at a later time than they're currently acting. See this section for information about animating the force controls.

Shatter effect not working completely

Using the shatter effect on a 6 second composition. By six seconds i want the shatter to have blown in from the right and show the words. The shatter works but at 6 seconds the words aren't fully solid. How come some of the text looks like it is still shattered?

When you say size do you mean the depth of it?

I have this problem that's been driving me bonkers. I used Shatter on a PNG image, and it doesn't shatter completely. Most of the image shattered like normal, but a few intact pieces were left behind right where they were instead of flying off like the rest.

Put shatter in wireframe mode, look at the force field. Did It include all of the layer? What are your physics settings? If pieces are not moving you have to change something about the setup. There are about a zillion combinations of settings for shatter, without seeing which are not at the default setting it is impossible to give you any better idea than I just did.
If my suggestion did not solve your problem then select the shatter layer and press the U key twice to reveal all changed properties, then send us a screenshot showing the timeline and the comp at the point where you are having problems.

A bit more information would be helpful. What is happening on your system when you go to lighting effects?
What system are you running on? What video card are you using? Are you using the most recent driver?
Do check our system FAQ as GPU is requried for lignting effects to work properly.

After Effects not working in Mavericks

Is anyone having issues with Adobe After Effects not working in Maveriks? Premeire, Photoshop, Audition all work, but not AE. No update from Adobe available.

OpenAL sound effects not working .. Please Help

I ported OpenAL to our platform and able to play the wav files.
I wrote a sample openal application and try to produce some sound effects.
Play back of audio is working but sound effects are not working.
I am using jungle.wav which is mono channel sound wave file as input

I am expecting the sound to be played in the right headphone/speaker.
But the sound is played in both the headphones.
I used wave device and generated the output.wav file.
In that file also the sound is played in both the headphones.
I used the following settings for configuring OpenAL alsoft.conf.
Someone please help me the error in the above code.
Does OpenAL able to generate the right sound or left sound effect depending on the co ordinates

Lighting effect not working for photoshop CC 2014

hello there i can not seem to get the lighting effects working in Photoshop cc 2014 i updated it and also made sure my graphic driver was updated and also made sure that it was strong enough to run it and it is so now i'm just confused why its not working.
not sure what to do from here need to get some textures done and this does not help and couldn't find anwsers on the adobe contact us tab so came here.

I could repro this. Fix it by restarting Photoshop.
What happens is that when you toggled your graphics acceleration on without restarting Photoshop, it made Photoshop go coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. (It happens.) Hopefully, someone from Adobe's staff will see this.

Clip name effect not working correctly in 2014/2014.1

I've just updated Premiere (2014.1) to specifically fix these two bugs. The Clip name effect isn't using the correct file names. It uses something close but not quite e.g. clip 100 shows as 100B which is down the timeline.
The effect is applied to a transparent layer (have also tried it in a black video layer) and the clip name drawn from a different video track (video/PNGs in track 1, transparent video and effect is in track 3). This problem only appears when videos are in the timeline. When used with stills (PNGs) it works fine.
Any idea of a fix or workaround that isn't using some kind of titling filter? I'm looking to automate the shot naming process for a pipeline in creating animation animatics and this would be perfect. If to actually worked properly.
Using Premiere on a Mac Book Pro with 10.9.5.

Why is ken burns effect not working on individual slides I have amended when sent to iDVD

When making a slideshow in iPhoto, I changed the zoom and scan on individual slides as instructed in the Help dialog; these showed perfectly when played. However, when I shared the slideshow to iDVD, those particular slides were just 'still' and there was no Ken Burns effect at all. Why did this happen?

The Slideshow was created in iPhoto and then shared to iDVD. The Ken Burns effect works on all the photos that used the basic "Ken Burns' setting. However, on some of the photos I tried to amend the scanning to zoom into particular faces or parts of the photo. When I played the slideshow in iPhoto, these amended photos were exactly as I wanted, but after 'sharing' it and viewing it in iDVD, those photos I had altered were 'frozen' and the Ken Burns effect did not work at all, neither the automatic version, nor the specific way I had set it. All the other photos still had the Ken Burns effect as expected. I am using iPhoto 11, 9.1.5, I haven't had this problem in the past.
If you have any ideas why this should have happened I'd be grateful.

Eye Dropper tool in After Effects Not working Properly

I am using Adobe After Effects CS5 on a mac. And most all of the eyedropper tools in the software are not working properly. They always select a way different color than it should be. What is wrong?
One day they just all decided to not work. Its really frustrating. Its been a few weeks now.

Well, For some strange reason its working just fine today. I did restart my computer yesterday and after that it seems to be working.
I haven't recenitly messed with my hardware acceleration/graphics card or monitor color profile. So if that was it, then it did it on its own.
None the less its working now. Thank you for your help!!!

Sound effects not working after upgrade

After upgrading to Yosemite, my system sound effects are no longer working. Instead of hearing my selected Basso sound, my entire screen flashes. Other sounds, such as the audio track of a video, still work fine. If I use the "afplay" command I can hear a system sound. I also get sounds for incoming and outgoing mail. But clicking one of the system alert sounds in the "Sounds" preference pane does nothing audible, and in other places where I used to get a Basso sound, my screen flashes instead. I'm aware of the Accessibility option that gives the screen flash in lieu of an audible alert, but that is turned off, and I have tried turning it on and back off again, to no avail. My "Alert volume" is all the way up in the "Sounds" preference pane, and I've slid that back and forth too.
Can anyone suggest a way to reset whatever got confused in the upgrade, and get my alert sounds back?
I'm on a 13" mid-2009 MacBook Pro, if that matters.

Photo Booth Effect not working

I upgraded to 10.4.8 and 75% of my Photo Booth effects stopped working. There is only a blank screen instead of a camera image. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Photo Booth worked great before the upgrade. I have a 20" iMac intel. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions
First try Repairing Permissions, with the Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities. This will read your Receipts folder for the latest Permissions based on the Updates.
Next, if that does not work try deleting com.apple.Photobooth.plist for your Home/library/Preferences Folder and restarting Photo Booth.

Ken Burns Effect not working as expected.

I have created a slideshow in iPhoto 08 and want to have all of the slides use the ken burns effect except the first one (i want this to be a 20 second title photo). To get this to work, i have disabled the Automatic Ken Burns effect in the settings menu and then clicked the Ken Burns checkbox in all of the photos from the second one onwards. Even with these checkboxes selected, the photos just stay still and the ken burns effect does not work. Am i going about this the wrong way?
Any ideas appreciated.

I believe that if you do not use the automatic ken burns effect you need to set the effect for each photo - pick one or two and with the KB slider to the left set the view for the beginning photos and then slide the slider to the right and set the end view - then it will transition between those two (I'm thinking that you can turn auto automatic and override it for just the first slide by making the start and end the same so the transition does not really do anything
Try that first (it is easier )

Simple Mask Effect not working in Flash 8 Pro

I recently updated to Flash 8 pro.I'm having a wiered
problem.First I was having problem applying masking.I applied a
masking effect in a movie clip and when view the movie instead of
showing the effect it shows my masking shape that is a
rectangle.When i move the play head in the movie it shows me the
effect, im trying to achieve but when I hit ctrl+enter to test the
movie, it does not work.Then another thing was I tried to apply a
Fade in effect and even that does not work.Any suggestion would be
appreciated.As im having these problems in the player, so I assume
there is something wrong with the player.I have Flash Player 9

Are you sure that you set your Mask layer to a Mask? Double
click the icon int he right of the Layer name and set the Layer
type to a mask.
And regarding the Fade, I guess you may miss some thing, let
me know the steps you have done to create your Fade effect?

Crumble animation effect not working properly

Crumble effect is not working. Other effects seem fine. Tried moving the one slide to a new presentation. Tried changing speed. I've rebooted. Can't locate any pref files to remove. I'm using it on a .png object I made in photoshop. Hmm. maybe I'll convert to .jpg and see what happens.

Crumble effect works perfectly with me.
You are aware that crumble is a build out effect? Therefore it removes an image from the screen using the effect.
