Shear filter bug

On the 64-bit version of 11.0.1, the Distort...Shear filter is not working properly. As an example, I apply a point in the middle of the initial straight line in the dialog, and I pull it to the left. Instead of applying the curve accurately, the curve is applied more to the bottom than to the top.
Here's the really strange part: it works correctly in a file I edited this morning, but it does not work in another file that I am editing. I can jump back and forth, and it will work in the one file and not in others (even on the same object copied from the working file). A system restart does not solve the problem.

Are you working on an 8 bit RGB document? Some filters have not been updated to work on deep data (e.g., 16 bits/channel or above).
Depending on what you need from the Shear filter, and assuming you'd rather not use shallower data, you might be able to work around the issue with the Edit - Transform - Distort function.

Hi, I am looking for something better than this primitive 'shear' filter. I need to shape an image with the help of a curve, just like in shear, but more professional than just with a vertical line inside a teeny-weeny window... Any ideas..? Curently working in Photoshop CS3.

How can I add more curve points in Warp..?
Unfortunately one can not, therefore the Illustrator Envelope Distort-recommendation.
CS5 is supposed to offer improvements in this field … but no release-date has been announced yet.

Metadata Navigation and Library Column Filter Bug

To whom it may concern,
When document library metadata navigation is enabled and a user clicks an item in the metadata navigation part, the library updates to reflect the selected filter. Subsequent filtering actions performed on columns in the library do not filter the list

My reason for re-posting this is 2 fold.
1. The answer to the thread above is not an answer, it is a work around.
2. Presenting the option for a user to continue filtering a view, but having that option do nothing is a bug. The option should be hidden, or it should perform the expect action.
Please either inform me of an expected timeframe for resolution, or point me to an exacting set of steps to take in order to escalate this issue to someone who will take action to fix it.

According to your description, my understanding is that column filtering cannot work after filtering on the managed navigation in SharePoint.
I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, and I got the same results as you got.

Fix the #?&% stack plus filter bug. We need to filter stacks. Thanks.

You are kidding this bug is still in Bridge CS5! Isn't the whole purpose of Bridge to pick the best images from rest by stacking them, filtering them and keywording them. It is nuts if you waste your time stacking them you can't filter them anymore!!!!! Why even put the 'feature' in that way. Another thing that should not happen is if you work on a file and save it as the same name but in another file format say Photoshop it takes it out of the stack and drops it to the bottom of all the images.
How hard can it be to fix the central purpose of Bridge? Wow.
BTW Thanks for making Bridge CS5 so much faster now fix the stacks.

The new frontend tools are made standalone. It means that you can install the Business Explorer without using the SAP GUI. In the earlier versions, Busines Explorer( BEx )tools were installed as an add-on to the SAP GUI.
As far as the need for the java stack, it is not needed if you are only going to run BEx (Excel) Analyzer. The java stack is only needed for the new Report Designer, any web designer queries, or anything you are publishing via Information Broadcasting.

[LR 4.1] Graduated filter bug

Hi,
I have an image horizontally divided in two parts : 2/3 (sky) and 1/3 (ground). I have created 2 graduated filters, each fully and exactly covering one part of the image. I created the biggest one (2/3) first. The two graduated filters do not overlap.
When I apply effects to the first graduated filter, everything happens as expected : any change made to the exposure, saturation or whatever parameter only affects the area covered by the graduated filter.
When I (try to) apply effects to the second graduated filter (1/3 - covering the rest of the image), any change is applied to the whole image, as if the graduated filter was covering all the image.
It's too severe a bug to imagine that nobody noticed it until now. On the other hand, this behavior is not logical.
It's not specific to a particular image. I can reproduce this on any image.
Did I miss something obvious?

So while I admit that it's not a bug "per se", I realize that something is missing : the ability to apply the graduated effect in the reverse direction. Which is not the same as flipping the filter upside down.
Either I am missing something, or flipping the filter upside down (or dragging upwards from the start) is exactly what you need - you only have to apply the inverse value of the effect you want to use.
Example: You want to make the lower half of the image <i>brighter</i> (as opposed to the common case to make the upper half [sky] darker): Set exposure to a <i>positive</i> value and then drag upwards.
But perhaps I didn't understand your point correctly...
EDIT: Ok, perhaps now I understood: I looked again at your question: "So what if I want to apply say, a low saturation from a point located below the middle of the image, progressively returning to the normal saturation at the bottom of the image, without affecting the upper part of this image?": So you want to "reverse" the filter effect in such a way that it:
immediately (abruptly) starts at full strenght at line #1
gradually dropping to zero strengts at line #2
Is that correct? If it is: No, that is not directly possible. Probably because the graduated filter are modelled after real-world filters, which cannot do such things (AFAIK). You have to use two filters together to get the desired effect, just like trshaner described above. Here is a quickly done example - hopefully this is exactly what you like to achive:
For this example, I used a very thin GF (dragged upwards) at the line where the saturation sharply drops (set to -100) and a larger GF (also dragged upwards) spanning from the bottom of the picture to the first GF, with saturation +100, so it gradually counteracts the first GF.

Apex Row Filter Bug

Hi,
I am having an issue with the Apex Row Filters.
I have a report with say 300 columns. When going to Actions -> Filter, then selecting Row, and browsing the left column, there are columns that do not work in the Filter Expression box b/c the aliases are wrong.
There was a bug that was fixed in Apex 4.1 that after so many rows, all the rest of the columns would have '//.' for their aliases.
It seems for all the combinations of 2 letters down to JZ are fine. After JZ, the combinations stop working. (You would think the next one would be LA, LB, etc)
The combinations after JZ start like: 'L'', 'L(', 'L)', 'L+', etc.
These columns cannot be used in the row filter expression box. When trying to use one, I get the following error message:
Invalid filter expression. ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00920: invalid relational operator
Just wanted to make a note of this bug, and was wondering if this issue is fixed in Apex 4.2, if not, hopefully this will be fixed in a future patch soon.

EQ Audio Filter - BUG ?

i am cleaning up some bad sounding video. i apply the 10 band EQ filter - isolate some hiss and crackle and pull them down on the EQ. great - things sound much better.
i now have to do this to over 10 hours of edited video - so i make an audio preset filter (or just copy and past the filter to all the other sequences) and apply it.
but the filter does not seam to effect the audio now. the filter gets applied to all the video, but unless i go in and 'nudge' the EQ settings around they just don't take affect. its like it needs to be 'refreshed' (for lack of a better term). even if i render the sequence out and tell it to re-compress all the frames it still does not work.
bad setting somewhere maybe ? bug ? user error ?
any insight would be greatly appreciated-

It sounds a bit odd, but I wouldn't say it's a bug, or others would be experiencing it too.
Before you go to all the trouble of exporting all your sound to another app, first try the standard troubleshooting steps.
- Close FCP
- Delete your audio render files
- Trash your FCP prefs (search for com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist on your system drive)
- Repair your Disk Permissions in Disk Utility
- Restart your machine
- Open an entirely new project
- Bring some clips in
- Try applying the EQ filter and pasting it onto your other clips
- See if you still have the same problem.
After that report back. By the way, are you pasting your EQ filter onto a series of individual clips using Copy/Paste Attributes, or are you pasting the filter onto another entire sequence. If the latter is the case, you can also try pasting the filter onto the clips themselves instead of the sequence and see if that makes a difference.

If I create a table with Real(1,0) type field, then filter by this field does not work, and I receive the message "Enter parameter value TABLENAME.FIELDNAME.FileURL". If field type is not Real(1,0), then filter does work properly. In Access
97-2003 filter on this table always does work properly.

Table QBE-Filter BUG in combination with Application Module Pooling ?

Hi,
i use JDEVADF_11.1.1.1.0_GENERIC_090615.0017.5407, Java 1.6.0_14, ADF BC and ADF Faces.
I have one View Object, one Page with a panelCollection and a table with option filtering (create via drag-and-drop from datacontrol).
When I disable the application module pooling on the AM configuration and run the application, i can execute the query-by-example filter, but when I delete the filterCriteria and press enter (requerry for select all) the table shows the old data.

if I filter for employees which firstname starts with "D" and then for employees with "F" --> i see "No data to display.".
So uncheck "Enable Application Module Pooling" on application module doesn't work with QBE-Filter ?
I can send a testcase but it is so simple you can create it with jdeveloper in 2 minutes ;)

Search or filter you emails with some criterias . Click a mail in the list of results to read the contend. After some seconsd the results disappear and you are again in the inbox.

"Inner bevel" filter bug? When I use "hard chisel" a striped pattern appears. Why?

Can you please help me out with this following issue.
In order to make some geometric shapes in my artwork look like "3D", i use the "Inner Bevel" filter and for this case, with a "hard chisel" parameter. The result shows also a stripped pattern, which I don't want. What's the cause and how do I fix this?

J, try right clicking the layer styles and chose Create Layers to seperate the highlight and shadow component of the bevel Emboss. Unclip the new layers from the shape by Alt (Opt) clicking the interface between the shape layer and highlight layer. Place a layer underneath the shape layer and fill it with black - you'll see how the highlight is constructed and extends way beyond the shape. Invert the black layer, and you'll see the same thing for the Shadow area.
Now try Ctrl (Cmd) clicking the Highlight layer, and you'll see that the lines apear as individual selections.
I don't know why it is the way it is, but perhaps Brett or Chris can explain? It has always been a source of annoyance to me, and that's for sure. Noel might have some ideas, as I can remember him speaking about something similar a while back.
BTW The only way I could get a screen grab that included the marching ants, was with the Windows 7/8 Snipping tool. You can leave it minimised on the task bar between snips. Really useful.

Keyword filter bug?

When I run a keyword filter using a single keyword and no other selection criteria, I get a set of photos returned that include all the photos given any keyword in that session. For example I queried for keyword Italy and had results that included "arizona" and others that included Light but not Italy. I verified the catalog, exited and restarted Lightroom, rebooted my Mac, and verfied disk structure - still get erroneous data set.

I had a similar problem recently. In the end, I discovered that the filter had reset itself to filter on "All Searchable Fields" instead of "Keywords". Verify that "Keywords" is the actual selected value from the dropdown list. Also make sure that the word "Text" is highlighted in the filter bar (clicking toggles it). Hope that helps...

2821, IOS content filter-BUG? HTTP CORE process eating router alive

HTTP CORE process in IOS router is causing network outage. Its 2821, zone based firewall with IOS content filter. IOS content filter was working fine for last month, all of the sudden today it is working faulty. Network is waving on and off with CPU being hogged. Tried reboot and problem returns. Any advice out there?

Some issues have been corrected like object-groups for acls.
I noticed all has not been solved, but it is quite better.
On 12.4(22)T, I had memory fragmentation and overflow when I was issuing a lot of acl and object groups commands

How can I add a Custom Field in Work Item "Bug" in VisualStudio Online agile MSF Template?

We are using Visual Studio Online for task and bug tracking. The problem we are facing is that very few fields are available to working with. We need to add custom fields to filter bugs on multiple attributes like OS, Device model, Verified in build etc.
We do not have local TFS server setup. The support questions i have read, they ask to update XML file for work item but i dont know how and where to get that xml file. Also is there any particular Role needed to access such configuration files?

but for your purpose you can use tags to save the attributes.

First off, I wanted to say THANKS to the whole Bug Search team for their

I wanted to add a couple of further observations on BST in addition to my
buddy Paolo's initial comments (+5 "P")
- Version choices in Communications Manager and Unity Connection are not honored.
For example, if I go through Voice & Unified> IP Telephony> Unified Communications
Platform> Communications manager> Cisco Unified Communications Manager Version 9.1
There will be 44,535 results (????) then I have to input 9.1 again in the "Releases" box and
I then receive the correct 754 results. So BST is not honoring the original choice of
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Version 9.1. This is the same for all versions as well
as Unity Connection choices.
- IP phone 8900 series bugs are actually all listed under the 6900 series (????). If you
don't know this trick you can never find any bugs related to the 8900 series. These are two distinct
product lines and the bugs should be sorted accordingly.
