Sherman Filterbank via MOTU mkII routing issue

Hi guys,
Please help me on this: I am trying to use my Sherman Filterbank in Logic Pro7 via MOTU 828mkII as my interface and try the same technique I use for MIDI/audio recording. When I'm recording MIDI, I normally route the signal out and back in MOTU so to record the MIDI part as audio simultaneously. Say, if I'm to record a Stylus groove, I send the signal to Bus 1, choose in as 'Bus 1' and out as '5-6' on Aux1, arm an audio track, select 5 as its input so anything that's playing on Stylus can be recorded as audio track.
But when I try the same technique, I cannot hear SF on the audio track that I choose. In MOTU, the signal leaves from out8, goes into SF's signal in, leaves SF's out1 or main out (tried both, just in case!) and comes back in MOTU's in6.
I send an audio signal from the track that's playing the dry sound to Bus 3, choose 7-8 as the Bus' out, choose Bus3 as Aux2's in and 7-8 as its out. I arm another audio track and choose in6 as its input. Cannot hear the filter effect for the life of me.. I know after reading this you'll probably take a break from looking at the computer as this sounds all too much of a mental spaghetti junction to explain but if a solution or a mistake strike you, please drop me a line as it will be much appreciated.

Hi,
Trouble with I/O is my in's always come up as mono but out's are always stereo, besides I still can't hear the Sherman. My signal out to Sherman is from MOTU out 8 and from Sherman's main out to MOTU in 6. Going crazy! Is there a bypass switch on the SF, maybe I'm playing with the wrong buttons.. and also, why is there no on/off switch on the unit? Pretty tiring to walk on fours to find the adaptor to remove it everytime I'm off the computer.. thanks for all your views.
