Shift Click no longer working

On my MacMini 10.8.4 8 GB of Ram, I can no longer select groups via Shift Click.
It worked earlier in the day, could it have been the latest OS update?
Does anyone have an idea? Similar experience?

Issue solved: Rebooted, and now all works as it should.

Illustrator CS6 Eyedropper tool SHIFT + CLICK no longer works!

SHIFT + CLICK with the eyedropper tool does not apply color as it is supposed to anymore. It shows the color as applied according to the fill and stroke in the tool bar, but the object itself does not reflect that. This function worked perfectly up until recently and is now not working for no apparent reason. I use Windows 7. Everything is OK with the eyedropper options, all my updates are current. HELP!

Everything is checked in the eyedropper tool option menu (appearance, character style, paragraph style). The tool ITSELF works just fine. However it is when I'm sampling a color while holding down shift that no longer works.

Does this bad behavior persist when logging in as a different user, e.g., Guest? Does it persist when starting up in Safe Mode?

The control click and external mouse right click no longer works when copying and pasting album art within itunes. Ex. Hit get info for one song to paste to the rest, copying the artwork wont work when it used to.

Right clicking no longer works in Java?

Control clicking in Java no longer works on my new powerbook. Other applications seem to be fine.
How do I correct this? If uninstalling and reinstalling Java is the answer, how do I do this. I have poked around a bit but cannot find an answer to this.

Right clicking no longer works in Safari

Just yesterday, I started experiencing a strange problem with Safari--the right mouse button no longer works. I also tried the right clicking option with command + clicking on the touchpad and that doesn't work either. Right clicking works outside the Safari window and in all other programs, so I'm pretty much baffled. I tried restarting the computer/reopening Safari and it allows me to right click exactly once before the right click option stops working again. I'm not going to use Safari anymore until this problem is resolved, so if anyone has any idea what's going on, please let me know.

While it is possible that a reinstallation is needed, let's start with some easier steps first. I would use some of the techniques described in [this article|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1199].
Do you have another user account on the computer? If not, create one (System Preferences > Accounts > Click on the lock to authenticate > click the "+" button to add a new account > fill in required info.) Next, log out of your usual account and log in to the other one. Launch Safari. Does the same issue occur?
If yes, you have a system wide issue. If no, it is a user specific issue. There are different methods for troubleshooting each. Post back here with your results and we'll see what we need to do next.

Command-Shift-Delete no longer works in Mail

I could easily delete Mail Trash using Command-Shift-Delete. Now that no longer works.

It isn't about whether it's monospaced, it's about whether the font contains the style variants. Clearly Apple is taking the position of the typographic purist, which means they won't fake a bold or italic like in the old days, they only want to use it if it actually exists.

Spell check ctrl and click no longer working!!

I have upgraded to a Mac Book Pro - Got Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. For some reason ctrl and click does no longer work when wanting to spell check. I still get the red lines but nothing happens when I try and click on them.. This is the case for all applications, iWork, Office for Mac..
Anyone out there that can help?

Control+shift+u no longer working

I have a little problem with dreamweaver whereby Control+shift+u (which ftp uploads a file to the server) no longer works. It was working fine up till a couple of weeks ago. I had come to use it every time I uploaded a file so now it takes a lot more of my development time finding the file and uploading it with the 'put' command. When I do it now I get the following error;
<filname here> - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put online_proofs.php. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.
FTP Works fine using put... just not with the shortcut.
I am using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 version 9.0
Does anyone know what might have happened and how to fix this?

If DW starts playing up for no apparent reason, it could mean a corrupt personal configuration folder.
Close Dreamweaver, locate the personal configuration folder, and rename it.
When you restart Dreamweaver, it should create a new configuration folder with all the program defaults.
For details of how to find the configuration folder, see this page in the Dreamweaver FAQ.
Wouldn't hurt to try to see if it fixed the issue :-)

HELP - mouse click no longer working - Tiger bug?

I had a weird issue with Tiger (10.4.10) on my PowerBook G4 this evening. I was dragging a file to the trash, and "dropped" it onto the dock by mistake, just missing the trash. I was slightly to the left of the trashcan. I expected the icon to jump back to the desktop, as the place I had dropped it was invalid, but to my surprise, as I moved the pointer across the screen with the mouse button unclicked, a ghost version of the icon was still attached to the mouse pointer.
I was unable to click on anything, as the OS still believed for some reason that I was dragging this icon around. I used the keyboard to reboot the laptop, and when it came back up, the mouse click was not working - I can drag around, but can't click on anything. This is with the on board trackpad. I also have a bluetooth apple mouse, which exhibits exactly the same behaviour.
I've rebooted several times (and shutdown and removed the battery), zapped the PRAM. Nothing has helped. I've tried logging in as a different user, but the click still doesn't work with the on-board or external mouse. It's like something within the OS has been corrupted, but I don't know what I can do. I have loads of data on the laptop, so I am not rebuilding. There is something on the help pages about resetting my PowerBook PMU, but I don't think this should be required.
This is a major, urgent issue for me, as I can't use the laptop until I figure out how to resolve this.
Anyone - please help

Thanks for the feedback. Since resetting the PMU fixed the problem, it's not a bug but some conflict in the original setup.
If you want to report this to Apple, either send Feedback or send bug reports and enhancement requests to Apple via its Bug Reporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

Safari 5.1.4 Lion auto-click no longer works for me

I have a bookmarks folder on a MacBook Pro that is set to auto-click, it launches in tabs several sites that I look at every morning.
I upgraded to 5.1.4 Lion last night, and this morning, the auto-click didn't work.
It works with Safari 5.0.5 on the same machine.
It works with Safari 5.1.3 on the same machine.
It works with Safari 5.1.4 Snow Leopard on my iMac.

Try disabling the Lion "resume" feature...
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Now go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac for changes to take effect then try Safari.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For Lion: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

Shift-Ins no longer works for numpad in Linux

After I updated from version 24 to 31 pasting text with Shift and numpad Ins (the button that also has "0") stopped working. Ctrl-Ins works as before. Shift with the other Ins works as before. Shift with numpad Ins works as before in other applications, for example Konsole. Same for safe mode and clean profile. Same for versions 34 and 35.
I am usinng Gentoo Linux AMD64, KDE 4.12. I tried both building from source and using prebuilt binaries. I enable using Shift with numpad with the following line in .xinitrc:
setxkbmap -layout 'us,ru' -option 'grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll,numpad:microsoft,compose:caps'
Even though Ctrl-V and the other Ins still work, I've been using numpad Ins since 1991. Relearning is painful.

Have you tried it in "Safe Mode" - F10 > Help > Restart with addons disabled?
When I enter "about:customizing" it takes me to the same customising view as does using right-mouseclick on a non-active part of the main toolbar.
Another gotcha might be that at the bottom-left there is a drop down list where menus can have their visibility set. It's possible for some buttons to be hidden because these menus are set "off". Just for when you do find your customise page ...

Triple Click no longer works to highlight paragraph

Triple Click does not work on my dads old PC that I have obtained, I have tried safe-mode and complete uninstall (with remove my settings opted and revo uninstaller scan & remove) and re-install - but still the same, also when I install there are still add-ons from previous install even though I asked for them to be removed? they are disabled and I can not remove them either

Is the triple click pref enabled?

Middle mouse click no longer works after recent update

I noticed after updating about 3 days ago that clicking the scroll wheel no longer acts as middle click on my MX Revolution mouse from logitech anymore. Pressing on the scroll wheel use to act as middle mouse click, now it just switches between scroll modes. I would like to have the former functionality returned as I really like to be able to open links in new tabs and paste with just one click.
Does anyone know how I could get this functionality working again on this mouse? All other button functions work as they did prior to the update that changed my scroll wheel click behavior.
Thanks for any help with this matter and please let me know if any other information is needed to diagnosis this problem.

Yes the mouse works in windows, but logitech provides a configuration utility for it and so I use that set it up. In linux there is no such utility to configure the mouse. There use to be btnx and that worked great but it's no longer in the repos or AUR so I don't use that anymore. I haven't done pacman -Sc or pacman -Scc in a while so I should still have the packages to roll back, but I'm not sure what package update caused this.
