It is embarressing how much trouble I am having with iTunes. I have put my library on an EHD (correctly through consolidating), and I understand I should start iTunes while pressing shift. But this is not properly directing iTunes open the music folder on my EHD, iTunes continues do open the folder in my recycle bin. Admittedly, I have not emptied the recycle bin, but should that matter?
To make matters worse, I entered Dante's inner rings when the error appeared "An error occured while updating the default player for audio files types. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."

Thank you for responding. I did consolidate onto the EHD. I have told iTunes in preferences to open the folder that is on the EHD. But when I open iTunes I have nothing in it. Which is a change from a few minutes ago, but I am not sure if its a good change.
I am concerned that the error may be what is causing the trouble.
I was just messing again with the shift key thing, prior to reading your response, that process was suggesting to me that it wants me to create libraries with one song in each. Again ... I'm Easily Confused.
So if I understand correctly, I do not need to try to make the shift thing work. There is a different reason that iTunes will not find the folder on my EHD. Could it have to do with the error? "An error occured while updating the default palyer for audio files types. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation"
The trash has "iTunes Music" with 3,444,172KB. This is the folder that I put in the recycle bin after I consolidated.

This worked, I used the method described in this link http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=365156, and opened the Mozilla profile screen with the terminal on my mac, using the language given in the links. Then I duplicated my original profile to save the bookmarks, etc. Put them in a folder listed Duplicate profile with the date. With the open profile screen, I deleted my original profile, created new profile folder and then a new profile. Note that profile cannot be created in the system library, it must be created on the disc, because the library will not allow writing into it. After I created my new profile folder, I dragged all my old information into it, and it worked. Firefox closed and the error disappeared. You must be VERY careful to make sure Firefox is closed anytime you are doing anything with the profile folders. I think that is what caused my original problem.

Lastly, I'm unable to open any Camera Raw files. Any suggestions? I had no problems with the Mavericks OS on my old iMac and although it's much slower, I'm tempted to go back to using my old iMac. At this point, I feel as if I've just wasted $2300+ (tax included).

Why is my Illustrator cs6 not opening files.

I'm having a issue with Illustrator not opening files (eps or ai) either from the server or my desktop, opening original from Indesign, double clicking a file or from the menu 'open file'. I have to end up quitting Illustrator, then open the file from one of the methods above. Same days it all works fine then other days it doesn't. Quite confusing.
I've uninstall then reinstall Illustrator previously and it seemed to work fine for a while then it started doing it again.
And I've tried finding the info on the forums for Illustrator. If its there please point me to the right place.

Here is a list from easy to serious (note the Cleaner Tool as part of uninstalling and reinstalling in 6), and you may have some disturbance from other applications, see the usual suspects in Item 7) in 5), and 1) - 2) may be the first ones to try, before 3) and/or 4) ):
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

InfoSpoke fails with message "Could not open file on application server"

I created an InfoSpoke that is configured to extract to a flat file. The name of the file is specified using a logical filename. During extraction, the infospoke reports the error message "Could not open file on application server" adnd marks the extraction process as red(failed). I have tried to run the InfoSpoke in background mode and in dialog mode and the same error appears. After i run in dialog mode, i checked SU53 for authorization errors and did not find any. I also tried changing the Logical filename setup in transaction FILE to a more "friendly" directory in which i'm sure i have authorizations (e.g. my UNIX home directory) and im still getting errors.
Can you please share your thoughts on this? Any help will greatly appreciated. I also promise to award points.

Thanks for helping out.
If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to a file using "File Name" option and also check the "Application server" checkbox, the extract works correctly (extraction to the defualt SAP path and filename=infospoke name). If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to the local workstation, the InfoSpoke also works correctly. It's only when i configure it to download to the application server and use the "Logical filename" option, that i encounter a failed extract.

Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 will not work,
When machine is first started the program works, for about 10 mins, then
I can not open files, create new ones. When it does work it can not perform functions like transform etc.
I tried disabling third party plug ins
I tried creating a new account on my machine
Nothing seems to work.

we are using 3.1 production server which has four application servers, after harware upgrdation we are facing connectivity problem with datastage.
daily the infospkoes and abap programs are faling with the message "Could not open file........on application server".
when we trigger manually on one server then it gets success, means we are facing problem with other 3 appliction servers. we do not know how to go about this issue.

This is error RSBO214 and can be due to upper/lower case letters within your destination path.
Maybe you have changed the path in transaction SE16?
In case you change the destination manually, you have to make sure that that the directory exists and that the authorizations are set up correctly for the extraction user.
