Shift Key and Wireless Keyboard

I'm trying to highlight several pictures in Photo Booth to send them over to iPhoto. I went to the genius bar and they simply highlighted all of the pics using the shift key and pulled them in. On my computer at home, however, I cannot highlight all of the pics, or even a series of them, using the shift key. This technique DOES work in other programs, even in iPhoto. Any idea why my shift key in Photo Booth (Mac OS X 10.4.11) won't work in the same fashion?

Firstly, I'd check what keyboard layout you're using. Goto System Preferences, Keyboard, and then Input Sources.
I'm guessing that it'll be set to either "British PC" or "US International - PC". Set it to either "US" or "British" and see if that helps.

Hello, recently I have a problem typing with my laptop. Mutliple times a day, both of the shift keys, and the scroll lock key turns on by themselves. These are the problems I face when typing: 1. Unwanted text is highlighted2. Letters are capital although caps lock is not on.3. When I try to browse in Google Chrome, text gets deleted and random windows start to pop up4. For some reason the word "QWEPRUIO" starts appearing sometimes when I type.
5. Someimes while I type, suddenly the text gone missing and an asterik * appears.6. Also when this happens, my wi-fi gets turned off automatically. By any chance did something get spilled onto the keyboard (even a small amount)? Liquids can definitely cause this type of issue (Trust me, I know from experience, I have kids.). If you rule that out then open the System Preferences and click on the Keyboard settings, put a check in the 'Show Input menu in menu bar' box. This will add a menu bar pull down menu that will allow you to 'Show Keyboard Viewer.' If you select the 'Show Keyboard Viewer' option does the keyboard layout match the keyboard you are using? When you press the keys you are having issue with does the corresponding key light up on the keyboard viewer? Please post your results.

New mac mini and wireless keyboard

how do I set up a new mac mini and wireless keyboard at the same time?

Since the Mac Mini does not come with a Monitor, Keyboard or Mouse those are needed when setting up a Mac Mini. I don't know what brand wireless KB you have or if that even matters.
I have an Apple wireless keyboard (bluetooth), Apple magic trackpad (bluetooth), and Dell DVI monitor. When I initially booted my new Mac Mini, the screen showed it searching for bluetooth devices. It found the keyboard first and then a few seconds later, the mouse. So, I had all devices to finish setup of the Mini.

I would like to AirPlay mirror my iMac and be able to use both my magic mouse and wireless keyboard, but the bluetooth range won't let me. Is there a way to extended its range?

I am buying an iMac to AirPlay mirror on my big screen TV with AppleTV (2nd generation). But my TV is located far away from my iMac and I won't be able to use my magic mouse or wireless keyboard via bluetooth connection. I know I can use an app to simulate both mouse and keyboard, but I really need to use the actual devices.
I wish there was a way to pair them to my iPad or iPhone, via bluetooth, and control my iMac via network. It is a cheap solution, as I wouldn't need to buy any other device. I believe all these devices, without modifications, have enough technology to be able to work as I've imagined. The only need was to adapt the software.
Is there a solution simple as this one, or do I have to buy a Bluetooth extender in order to use my magic mouse and wireless keyboard? If so, which BT extender do you suggest and what is its range?

If you are still under warranty, contact Apple to get it serviced. You can also visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider to get it looked at.

Google Sheets: A browser error has occurred. Please hold the Shift key and click the Refresh button to try again.

Since upgrading to OSX Yosemite last night, I get this error message when I open spreadsheets previously created in Google Drive: "A browser error has occurred. Please hold the Shift key and click the Refresh button to try again." Following these instructions does absolutely nothing.
Word google docs open fine, as do spreadsheets that aggregate responses from a form and a select few spreadsheets; however most other spreadsheets display the same error message.
I've tried:
opening in Google Chrome - uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome: same issue
opening in Firefox: same issue
opening from sheets.google.com: same issue

moving tab doesn't work.

I would think you'd have to change the language to British English to get the pound sign. THat or turn off your wireless keyboard and get the pound sign from the on screen keyboard, then turn your wireless board back on.

Shift key boots into Safe Mode, not Recovery.
This only works on a Mac running v10.7 Lion or later.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to repair the startup disk and restore OS X using OS X Recovery

Shut down and restarted computer, "browser error" still pops up when trying to access documents using Google doc's.

Found a note explaining the significance of these errors.
It says:
"NZE-28862: SSL connection failed
Cause: This error occurred because the peer closed the connection.
Action: Enable Oracle Net tracing on both sides and examine the trace output. Contact Oracle Customer support with the trace output."

IPad and wireless keyboard do not pair any more

I always had (minor) problems, wehn vonnecting iPad and keyboard. But now iPad and wireless keyboard do not pair at all. Tried 15-20 times, fresh batteries, switched on an off, tried manually - nothing. I noticed that the green LED of the keyboard shines just for about 3 seconds when I switch on - but this has always been like that before. Latest OS of course. Who can help, please?

Will magic mouse and wireless keyboard work with my G4?

hello, i have a 1.25 Ghz ppc g4 imac and have leopard installed. i was wondering if i get a bluetooth dongle and a magic mouse and wireless keyboard would it work? would i also need a special kind of bluetooth adapter? i already have airport extreme, im going for the modern mac one wire (power cord) look. thank you.

the Magic Mouse requires at least OS 10.5.8 whcih you don't have.
The current wireless keyboard requires 10.6 which cannot run on a G4 iMac.
I would look to third-party solutions. I like Logitech input devices:

However, even the Logitech devicez may require a higher version of the Mac OS than you have. Be certain to check system requirements very closely before buying something.

Is it possible that you have a bad bunch of batteries?
My Magic Mouse on one computer and the Mighty Mouse on another use batteries I bought through the Apple store (with a charger). They last a long time.

Another possiblity is that the mouse is defective. Since the keyboard connects, it has to be the mouse or the batteries.

Plus and minus keys on wireless keyboard?

hi there everyone. i've got a new aluminum wireless keyboard and i love it to bits. gorgeous bit of design and elegance. on the previous apple keyboard however there was a couple of handy keys next to the numeric pad for 'plus' and 'minus'. Does anyone know how i can find these on the wireless keyboard? these were particularly handy when hit with the 'command' key to increase or decrease the size of text in safari.

Forward and Back Delete Keys on Wireless Keyboard (short)?

My new Apple wireless keyboard (short version) has only the delete key on it. Is there a way to program the additional delete key, allowing me to delete in the right-hand direction? The current delete key deletes only the in the left-hand direction.

I've just been setting up a new Wireless Keyboard for a client using a MacBook with Tiger - on which the Fn+Delete combination works - and have found that it doesn't work on her Wireless Keyboard like everyone says it should! It just gives an error beep. Help!

E and C keys on wireless keyboard activate Mission Control

I just set up a wireless keyboard with my Macbook Air. For some reason, the E and C keys activate Mission Control at random times. I went to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts and restored everything to default but it still doesn't fix the problem. I also can't find any direct associations between these keys and Mission Control in the Mission Control setting. Help!

In case anyone is curious, I solved this issue by upgrading to OS X 10.6.4. The brightness and volume function keys now control these functions properly.
