Hi team,
plz can anyone tel me how to define the shift sequence in detail,i have been through this path but the sequence key its not taking ,on what basis it should be given

Step wise try to do like this newly,(T.code = OP4A)
1) Groping:- Define new group say -95 ok with name TEST.
2)Then Click on Work break schedules:- New entry-
0001 0 BK1 12:00:00 12:30:00        0,50
0002 0 BK2 18:00:00 18:30:00        0,50
0003 0 BK3 03:00:00 03:15:00        0,25
3)Define Shift definitions like as,
A First Shift 01.01.0001 31.12.9999 07:00:00 15:00:00 7,50 0001
B 2nd Shift 01.01.0001 31.12.9999 15:00:00 23:00:00 7,50 0002
C 3rd Shift 01.01.0001 31.12.9999 23:00:00 07:00:00 7,75 0003.
4) Define Shift sequences
SH1 1   Frist Shift       A A A A A A A
SH2 2   Second shift   B B B B B B B
SH3 3   Third Shift       C C C C C C C
Then Assign it to your work center.

Shift sequence query in PP work center

Dear All,
I am having one problem while maintaining shift sequence in work center. I have maintain all config settings in OP4A shift 1 shift 2 shift 3 but when I create work center and select shift sequence, it is only taking shift 1 and not all 3 shift for all 7 days.
Can anyone tell me the solution?

Thanks for the valuable inputs.
I have created following sequence in OP4A.
1, Create a Group eg. CB
2.Create a shift definitions like SHIFT1,SHIFT2,SHIFT2, START/END DATE, START/FINISH TIME OF SHIFTS, NO BREAKS ARE THERE and assign it to group.
3. Define individual shifts SEQUENCE DAYWISE wrt to groupo.
4..Assign grouping in capacity header of work center.
5.Now go to add interval option and create a new version of capcity which contains desired shift sequence from the shift group assigned.
7. assign proper valid froma and valid to dates.
8. In capacity header screena ssign the newly created capcity vesrion as active vesrion.
BUT STILL i WILL ABLE TO MAINTAIN ONLY FIRST SHIFT SEQUENCE FOR ALL 7 DAYS.
SYSTEM IS NOT SHOWING 2ND AND 3RD SHIFT.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

Assignment of shift sequence in work centre

I have already created the grouping key & shift sequences in OP4A. There are 7 groupings when I see in OP4A. But when I try to assign them in CR02 capacity header screen , I see only 3 grouping keys. I dont see the one I have created too. What could be the reason?

Please check you have any letters in grouping code?
use only nunmbers - it will appears
instead of AA, AB, AC create with 11,12,13
Please close the thread if answer is okay, otherwise revert back

What is the use of shift sequence ?
I have defined Shift sequence , assigned to work center Etc .
But whr does the same will appear or what is the use of the same .
(HR module is not implemented here )

Normally the available capacity of that particular work center is calculated from the data we are giving in the capacity header/Available Hrs from - To and the break time, the number of work center and efficiency
If we give shift definition and shift sequence. We have to assign that in shift group in the capacity tab.
The available capacity will be calculated from your shift definition and brake time which is given in your shift group.
if your shift start time is 06.00 end time 14.00 break time is .5 hrs. Then Available capacity per day is 7.5 Hrs.
If your are giving shift sequence also 14.00 to 22.00 - 22.00- 06.00. Then the available capacity 7.5 X 3 = 22.5 Hrs per day.

Shiftwise confirmation is now part of SAP standard! The new functionality is now part of ECC6.00 Enhancement Package 3, see help.sap.com for further information and assistence,

Shift sequence in available capacity

hi, all SAP experts,
my question is as follows
I created grouping in which shift sequences are defined and i assign this group to work center in capacity header. So work center should have to select shift sequence in capacity tab but i enter manually start time and finish time in capacity header.So why systm can't show interval of available capacity daywise automatically through grouping or is there any setting for this?

Dear,
In work center change transaction capacity view
assign this grouping no XX.
Enter active version = 1
Then Click on interval and shift push button (left top)
follow the menu path Edit>insert>insert interval
enter
valid from and valid from field
enter shift sequence and remove the data if there in any other filed and click on ENTER. all the days in week are defaulted with the shift seq you defined.
It will work for you.

What will happen if a maitain both standard available capacity and grouping key ( shift definition and shift sequence) in the capacity header of a work center?

Im little confused with the capacity header in work center. In the capacity header there is one place to give start time, end time, length of break and number of individual capacity. And in grouping key i can define the shift and shift sequence. So if im maintaining both of these ( standard avilable capacity and grouping key), which will be considered to calaculate avilable capacity?

If you are running three shifts ,please maintain the data as given belwo
start :00:00:00
End:23:59:59
Break :03:00:00 ( 1 Hour per shift so 3 hrs for 3 shifts)
No.of individual capacity :1
System will understand that it is round the clock operation with total three hour brak and you will get 21 hour per capacity

Can any body give me the technicality behind the planning, how shift sequence will consider.
For ex: i have created the wc and for that i have created the capacity as machine. in the capacity header i have entered the factory calendar and start time as 9.00 am and end time 5.30 pm and break as 1h. also i have created the group of shift sequence in that i have taken as general shift. that is only one sequence ( 9AM-5.30PM no break consider) that has been assigned to above category
How the system is selecting the sequence for the group (enter in capacity catagory) as well as calendar and arrives the dates of schedule.

Shift sequence of a workcenter changed AFRU not updated

hi all,
i have an issue with the change in work center's capacity.
by changing the shift sequence of a work center and then booking the hours against it, i can not get any update in AFRU in neither of its field ISM01, ISM02 ISM03....
what could be the reason? or am i missing anything? do i need to do anything more after changing the capacity related parameters?????

first of all thanks for yout reply,
in fact we have a schenario where we book the hours with event type B10 and B40. without any yeild confirmation.
and we consider the duration between the B10 and B40 as activity duration (in terms of hours).
so when i change the shift timings in the work center and post the hours in B10 and B40, there is a miss match. e.g. B10 i posted at 17.06.2009 10:30:00 and
B40 i posted at 17.06.2009 16:30:00 so in ISM01 or in ISM02 (based on activity and std values maintained) it should updated as 6 hours....
so it may possible that after changing the shift i am missing some other procedure.....
i hope this would have clear the question you had...

9 Day fortnight shift sequence

Hi PP'ers
Our company is changing our working pattern to a 9 day fortnight, here we work 1 week with 5 days and one week with 4 days and repeat.. i.e. we have every second friday as a holiday.
What is the best way to reflect this in SAP such that we cannot plan production on every second friday?
A shift sequence... I can't seem to find a way to make a sequence longer than 7 days
A change to the factory calendar?
any tips appreciated.

you can create a new holiday calendar and set it in your current factory calendar fixing workdays as well.
use SCAL
if you need, you can create a Special rules...

Shift wise confirmation and shift wise production report

1- maintained shift sequence and with shift grouping,
2- assigned the shift grouping to work centers,
other theses settings, what other setting to be done for shift wise confirmations and also production reports,

We had similar requirement for our manufacturing plant.
We have done Z-Development for
1) Shiftwise - Linewise Production
2) Shiftwise - Beltwise Packing
1) for that we have define new control key
2) That key assigned to master recipe.
(Why new control key ?
New control key is defined specifically to generate this report. Because Auto GR is done only at the end of packing and not at the end of shift. But we want report for each shift. That's why after each shift end proposonatly that much qty is confirmed by new control key. However actual Goods receipt is only happened while completing total manufacutring or packing)
3) That control kept as base of Z-development.
4) As far as shift timings are concerned, we have taken actual shift timings of our manufacturing plant.
Hope this will help to resolve your problem.

Capacity- shifts

Hi, i defined in op4a, 3 shifts and grouped under grouping key xx which is mentioned in capacity heade screen of wcenter. when i go to interval and shifts tab, it shows only 8 hrs capacity. i want here to appear all 3 shifts as defined in op4a. how to show 3 shifts in shiftss and intervals screen?

Hi,
You defined Shift sequence in TC: OP4A with 3 shifts by grouping key xx. You maintained this grouping key xx in Grouping field in General data section of capacity header under capacity tab in work center views. Its ok.
Now you goto Intervals and shifts tab the data which you are getting is system default. ok.
Now you maintain one more New shift by clicking on Interval Button. You give Valid from and To Date and maintain shift sequence then press Enter.
Now see you got all the shift details.

Shift patterns for work centers

Hi,
I have question regarding shift patterns for work centers. We are actually utilizing the work centres in a aftermarket setup (service jobs). What we would like to do is to add shift patters to the work centers which look similar to this:
Mo-Su 07:00-19:00, Mo-Su 19:00-07:00 4days on/4 days off/4 days on/4days off. As you see we would like it to be a rolling schedule so the first 4 working days the day shift, then 4 days off, then the next working days the night shift and so on.
Is there a way of simplyfying this setup? The length of the cycle can only be set to a maximum of 7 days meaning I can not create a rolling schedule in a simple way. I do know that I can manually add intervals with say a seven day cycle and defining the working hours and additional create shift for holding predefined working hours and breaks.
I have looked at shift sequences but that doesn't seem to be helpful in this scenario? The sequence seems only to be used as a sequence on a daily basis.
If anyone has solution for this or if you have any thought on how to process I would be very thankful if you shared these.

In T.code : SHR0 (zero) Shift Report overview.
Enter Report Type and Usage as workcentre, please do the this customazation then you find workcentres in F4.

Regarding Shifts in a work center

Hi experts,
I am facing an issue regarding the shift in workcenter.
I have done all the prerequisite settings in spro like
1. defing a grouping key,
2 defining work break schedule key,
3.definining shift definition,
4.defining shift sequence
now is there something called shift pattern key which does the shift changing on the desired basis like monthly or daily or weekly.
i have created one for my requirement.but whenever I am aasigning my grouping key to the workcenter only one shift reflect in the system.
So can you please help me.

This seems to be a different question all together,you have to create new thread for each question to get proper/prompt reply
First of all before cerating an inspection plan,you have to first decide what type of inspection you want to do
You can find the std inspection types in the QM view of the material master under Insp.setup
Then maintain the respective inspection type
like Inspection after GR from production
After that create inspection plan for the material in QP01 tcode
Before that you should have inspection characteristics created(MIC's)
It is created in QS21 tcode,here you will have to mention whether its qualitative or quantitative & input data accordingly
In QP01 you have to maintain the usage accordingly like 5,6 etc
Rest is like normal routing
In case of inproces inspection you dont need to create a seperate inspection plan,you can maintain the same in the production routing with MIC's
