Shift side-by-side view by one page

I have an eight page pdf of a booklet. Page 1 is the front cover, page 8 is the back cover. When I select the side-by-side view, the pages are layed out like this:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
But I would like to view it like this:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
Is there any way to accomplish that? Thanks.

  • How to display a table view and a pdf view on one page?

    Hi,
I want to build a portal page, at the top of the page , there will be a table view,
containing a list of employee, below that is a pdf file showing the profile of the selected employee.
i have finished the two parts separately, but since the pdf display require to set the response type of the page, so i think it's not possible in integrate the two parts into one page.
so do i need to use iframe? or is there any other design to solve my problem?
    thanks and best regards.

You can create main page & call other two pages which u already created using
    <b><frameset></b>
    <frameset row = "30%, 70">
      <frame src ="tableview.htm" />
      <frame src ="pdf.htm" />
    </frameset>

  • Various column views in one Pages doc?

    Hello All,
I want to create a document that has two columns on some pages and one column on others. Is this possible in Pages? I realize that I could create two separate documents, save them as PDFs and merge them in the correct order through Preview. However, I was hoping to do this in one document. It looks like this is possible with iBooks Author but I have not done anything with that app yet.
    Thanks for your help.

I think that I have a partial answer to my own question. In the Pages manual, I read about text boxes and I think I can make it happen the way I want it to look in Pages. I guess my next question is whether I should make that effort or try iBook Author. It seems like a native issue in iBook Author and kind of clunky in Pages.
The document is going to be a manual for high school students and I want it to look good! Thanks again.

  • Displaying one page at a time in a form

I have a bunch of different single-page forms for people to fill out but they only will be filling out one of them at a time. I want to create one pdf document that contains all the different forms available (about 50 different pages) but only displays one of them at a time. I was wondering if there was a way to have someone chose what form they wanted to fill out when they opened the pdf and then only allow them to view that one page. Any thoughts on how to do this would be a great help!

Thanks for the help so far. I think the solution that I am going to try to go with is creating a file that has all the forms in it and setting it so that all the visibility is off for all layers and fields when it opens. A pop up comes up and prompts the user to chose several options which are necessary to determine the form they should fill out. Then I will extract that page from the main document into a new pdf and turn on the visibility of that page. I've read conflicting things online about extracting a page to create a new pdf. If I don't specify a path to save the new pdf to will it just allow the user to save it on their own or will this solution not work?

  • One page reports generating blank PDFs

We have reports using DESFORMAT=PDF that appear blank if the resulting report is a single page, AND Acrobat 5.0 is configured to display PDF's within the browser.
We are having no problems seeing multiple page reports. And... these 1-page reports display normally when launched outside the browser. Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?
We would like to be able to view these one page PDFs WITHIN the browser to avoid having to show every user how to reconfigure Acrobat.
Any clues on this topic will be helpful, thanks.

Jeff, we had the same problem and the only solution we could find that consistently worked was to open the pdf in a separate window.

  • How do i change the display in ADE to a single page view instead of two pages side by side? I find it distracting and prefer to look at one page at a time.

You can increase the font size and automatically page view changes. Go to menubar; Reading -> PDF View or Epub Text Size (depending upon the ebook) and increase the size.

  • Viewing Pages and Safari side-by-side

I'm working on a Pages document, and I'm flipping back to Safari for research. Is there a way to view my pages screen and my safari screen side by side? Every time I click on one, the other automatically minimizes and disappears. I'd like both to remain on the screen.

    Sarah,
If you grab the lower right hand corner of the app window, you can size it to half-screen. Then grab it by the title bar and position it left or right so you can see both windows. What you are describing isn't what would normally happen. Shifting the focus from one app to the other by clicking in its window doesn't minimize anything, it just moves one app backwards (into the screen) such that it may be covered by the active app.
Keep in mind that you can scroll with the track pad or the mouse scroll wheel in the inactive app window without shifting the focus to that window. Just move the cursor over the inactive app's window without clicking on it and operate the scroll function.

  • Is it possible to view two web pages side by side on Safari

I am looking for a command that would put two or more web pages(or any open windows) side by side or even stacked so they can be viewed simultaneously. I know you can do this by resizing the the windows but I was wondering if there something already within Safari or Mac that would do the sizing automatically for you.
I remember back in the old Windows 3.1 days there was a Panel option under in the window menu that would this. And I also saw that this is possible in Windows 7 now. Surely, Mac has a way!
    Thanks,
    Casa

I misnamed this the option I am looking for. It is called "Tiling". After some research I found out that this is one of the features that former Windows users miss the most when they come over to Mac. I will have to concur. I don't know why Mac has not added this simple feature.
However, there is a third part app that makes this possible - SizeUp by Irradiated Software. You can download it here - http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/productivity_tools/sizeup.html
There is a limited free version called Two up from the same developer.

  • How can I view two pages side by side in the new Pages?

I can not find the feature to allow me to do this (which was available in the old version). This is really causing problems with some of my documents that have been created to be viewed this way. Any help would be great!

I am a loyal Apple user because Apple form always follows function.  Deleting this feature from Pages was a stupid decision.  Amateurish, really.  Makes me question the new design team's competence.
One of the key principals in good user experience design is providing value - simple, clean functionality that users find useful.  Side-by-side edititng is a great example.  Yes, the document is stored internally as a linear stream, but from the user's point of view the presentation should be as a reader sees it.   I don't know why it was removed, but I suspect it was either to conform with the internal form of the data, or to the least-common-denominator presentation device, or both.
I bought a Thunderbolt display so that I could edit documents 2 pages at a time.  My intended audience sees the document this way, and so I would like to write it this way.  But I can't with the new Pages.
Apple, please restore the side-by-side view in Pages.  I have work to do.  (And while you are at it, fix the EndNote plug-in.)

  • View pages in Pages NOT side by side

I received a large document in Pages. Unfortunately, I do not want the pages to be side by side, but rather one on top of another. Although I zoom in (like I would with Word), I cannot get them to go one on top of another.
Unfortunately, I have to scroll side to side to get to the next page. It is currently showing two pages at a time.
Any help on how to make this go away is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Phil

If I understand well, the doc's author choose to display two pages side by side.
To change that, trigger the View pop-up at the left bottom corner of the document's window.
I guess that '*Two up*' is checked. Check '*One up*'.

  • How to print two sides with one page?

I have a PDF that is one page long and I'd like to print the same thing twice (front and back) on one page. Can I do that?
I've tried printing two copies with the printer set to double-sided, but it just printed two sheets with one side on each sheet.

Well sure; Go back to the authoring application that created the documents and do a 2-UP page. Make the existingg page large enough to accomodate the extra content. Is that what you're asking or do you really mean print to a printer with a back up ? In that case just flip the page over and print page 2 on the other side.
Or are we missing something ?

  • How to view one photo with one XMP based adjustment side by side with another  XMP version?

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is a simple way of quickly and easily comparing side by side the same photo that may have different adjustments made to it.
I do some freelance work where in one job I receive up to 800 images to edit.  After my work is complete I send the XMP files back to my boss.  He may or may not further tweak them for correctness.  He then sends these files to the client.
I want to compare the original XMP files I sent against the final XMP files that the client receives to see what changes were made.  My boss can't remember exactly which files he tweaked so I wanted to do that visually.
Is there an easy way to do this in Bridge? Can I quickly switch the adjustments from one set of XMPs to the other, or better yet, view the same image side by side with different adjustments applied to them?
    Thanks!

Is there an easy way to do this in Bridge? Can I quickly switch the
adjustments from one set of XMPs to the other, or better yet, view the same
image side by side with different adjustments applied to them?
As far as I know you can't see different versions of the same file in
Bridge, I think you can do so in Aperture ;-0
The easiest way I can think of is to have two sets of files by duplicating
the current series you have tweaked. The duplicates have copy in the
filename but will stay in the correct order when having file name selected.
The duplicates stay as you have them tweaked, the originals will be modified
with new XMP as you get them back.
Choose sort by modification date to select the files with modified xmp data
and color  label those. Again choose all the content with sort for filename
and you can easily see the color labels next to the original duplicates.
Select both one modified and one original and view them next to each other
    in the preview window.
Maybe others have a better method?

  • Viewing preferences are not saved / remembered "show pages side by side"

    Hello all,
I just uploaded a PDF document to Acrobat.com. After it loads i need to click on "" show pages side by side" or "click to view a single page at a time" to get viewed fitted on the screen. Is there an option that the PDF always load "show pages side by side". I already added those preferences in the PDF but no result in the Acrobat.com function. But if i open it in Acrobat Pro it will open pages side by side"  and if i open it in Acrobat it will open side by side.
Does anyone got an idea if this is possible?
    Best regards,
    Phillip

    Hello Phillip,
Thank you for posting to the Acrobat.com forum. It's a very good point that you bring up: there is currently no way to save PDF preview preferences in Acrobat.com (unfortunately, the Acrobat.com PDF preview will not respond to settings within the document, as it's just a preview and not the file itself). We don't currently have any explicit plans to include such a feature, but I would strongly encourage you to bring this idea over to our Acrobat.com Ideas site:
    http://ideas.acrobat.com
This site is where people who use Acrobat.com can post their ideas and suggestions to the team and tell us what they'd like to see in the service. This seems like a viable candidate for posting there; I recommend taking a look and posting this thought so that the Acrobat.com team will have the chance to see it and consider it for a future release.
    Thanks again!

I have a long numbers document, that I'd like to make more print friendly.
It is a list of my DVD's that I just listed one after the other (1-200) when I tried to print it, it would be 18 pages,
can I change it to be more like columns side by side to save paper?

    S,
I assume that you also have Pages on your computer (or some other capable WP program). I also assume that you have eliminated any unnecessary columns, so you have a 1-column table in Numbers.
When it comes time to print, Copy the entire Table: Click on the table name in the Sheets Pane and Command-C.
Switch to Pages, open a blank WP template and set the number of columns to 3 or so. With the Text Insertion Cursor flashing on the first line of the first column of the blank template, Command-V. Your table should paste into the Pages document as an Inline Object and will Wrap on the page as you desire. Then Print in Pages.

  • Viewing pages side by side and split screen

I'm using Pages 5.5.2 and I need to view pages side by side and also compare the content of pages by using a split screen - just like I can do in Word. Any help?

    Apple is very customer focused.
Who that particular customer is, and whether they are actually using a Mac, we have not been able to discover.
