Dear Experts
I want solution to following scenario.
I am following Scenario
a.We are following descrete manufacturing
b.Finish Product PIR is entered for the day.
c.Manufacturing is 24 X 7 a day.Production need to monitored by 3 shifts starting from 8 am.
d.As day wise plan is entered so after MRP execution we want requirements from system in the form of shifts i.e what is to be produced in shift is required by system
e.each level of assembly is around 4 hr wait time for upper assembly.
Please let me know what steps need to be followed.

Capacities are not considered during MRP run, shifts cannot be taken into account by MRP as well. However you can see capacity loads after MRP run and you can match capacity loads to the shifts you are using. You will have to use capacity planning reports to see the loads of the shifts. Again bear in mind that capacities for shifts will be taken as infinite, scheduled hours of work will be determined by lead time scheduling.
For this, assign three categories of capacity to the work centers and define the shifts to capacities respectively, for each capacity define and assign capacity calculation formulas, the way you want to see the load per shifts. After MRP run, use CM01 and capacity planning reports alike, to report loads wrt shifts by entering related capcity categories.

Shift wise planning and scheduling

Dear All,
Here we have a scenario in which we have to do shift wise planning and scheduling.
The shift is not fixed.
It can be 1 shift on particular day and it might be 2 shifts another day. They will plan for this many hours per day for future.
The scheduling should be done for this many hours which inturn is as many shifts. The working hours per day is not fixed as well. It totally depends on the requirement. So the planning and scheduling should happen based on hour basis and will be different for each day. I need your inputs for mapping this scenario.

You have not given any meaningful requirements, therefore it is impossible for me to make suggestions. What you have said so far implies total randomness. If all the events are random, there is no planning, only tracking.
Exactly what do you mean when you say 'planning'? Material planning in ERP does not consider shift sequences/timings/schedules. Capacity planning, where work schedules are managed, does consider shift type data, but only takes place only after the orders have been established.
Scheduling is done based on Work Centers. A work center can represent one or more machines, one or more people, or a combination of the two. Work centers can have shifts. The number of shifts can vary over time. The shifts can have various working schedules. The shift working schedules can vary over time.
I suggest that you describe a single specific scenario you would like to discuss. Perhaps then the forum can offer some suggestions.

Shift wise activity plan

Hi
Can any body tell me how to do necking in PS like Primivera scheduling.
i mean activity is completed in two or more shifts and in this shift some other activity is proferming.
i want to plan shifts wise activities.
please can any body guide me

Can you elaborate the solution. because in factory calander working time is not mentioned.
for example I have two activities which have 24 hours. one is completed in two days because the working hour is 8 am to 6 pm. And other is completed in one days because its working time is 24hours.
how to cater this.

Daily Shift wise Report, Dash board reports

Dear all
With refering to the present project in 4.7 version the customer requirement is below.
1. Shift wise maintenance report - Here they are presently maintaining Section, shift, Date, From time, To time , Job descriptions, attenede by remarks.
In another coloum in same sheet they needs
From time, To time , Delay descriptions, attenede by remarks.
Then thirs is communication for next shift- there they are writing the texts which they are saying to next shift guys.
2. Another what they wants is regularly top managers wants to see the maintenance details ( prev order, down time, consumption cost etc ) in their system dash board(screen) . they are not willing to go sap. How to do this thro .Net or workflow . This is report should be fulfiiled by us.
3 Shutdown Planning report- here they are maintaining the date wise job hours in graphical form. How we can activate this

Dear thanks 4 ur answers. I have asked the same with our abapers , but they are new and not able to help. i have well tried with notification customer table addition in spro. but its not helping as required.
The thing is i cant prepare the specs for this report. Example for shift we can create Z table. But Processing job description, Action taken, delay reasons how i can prepare the specs.

Shift wise process order confirmation

My client is asking about shift wise confirmation of process order.
wht r the step will I follow to maintian the desire requirement.
Please explain with example upto order confirmation, wht r the field to be check & wht should be the input I give the field.

Basically your shift definition is for capacity planning/scheduling in the desired way
Create a process order ,Hope you would have also maintained your recipe with timings
"<b>wheer the impact will be come of this configuration.either Process order creation or order confirmation</b> "
The proces order will be scheduled(<b>at the time of order creation</b>) as per the timings mentioned in the recipe & the shift definition in the resource
Then you do phase wise confirmation-Time ticket/Time event
As per your reply what i understand is that in 3 shifts your process order will get over
So your shift supervisor will confirm accordingly

Shift wise WSR in a Negative TM system

Hi all,
We have to maintain IT0007, (Planned working time) of an employee for Payroll purposes. But in a negative TM system what is the benefit of maintaining different work schedule rules for different employees based on shift system.
Actually my problem is client is not able to give me a monthly shift wise work schedule rule, they say that it is decided manually and there are a number of alterations and modifications in that....so they can't give it in a concrete manner.
Please clarify my doubt and suggest me how data should be taken and in which form it should be inserted in system.

Option 1
You may explore if shift substitutions on a day by day basis through time managers workplace can be used for these employees.
Option 2
Alternatively, if rostering is performed on another non SAP system, you may need to have these rosters interfaced into SAP for upload into substitutions infotype (IT2003)
If Option 2 is pursued, you will need to set up "dummy" work schedules for these employees.

Date wise planning

Hi,
How can i do date wise planning for quantity of a perticular activity. i.e, a activity called excavation is attchched to a WBS, its total qty is 500m3, i have given basic start and finish date for it. but how can i do date wise planning for qty for it?

u can use Stastistical key figure planning.
1- create a statistical key fig group and enter that in ur planning profile (OPSB)
2- go to CJ40 and select the period and wbs ( extra->detailed planning->statistical planning)
here u can do planning for month wise also.
similarly after completion of the excavation, u can do actual posting also. (KB31N)

Report on power generation from each plant and shift wise(PP report)

i got one Functional spec on pp module. this FS main object is calculate the daily smelter performance.
Based on this FS I will make a report on POWER GENERATION FROM EACH PLANT AND SHIFT WISE.
so please can anyone of you advice to me , is there any standard extractors and standard cubes or ods are there for make this report.

Report to show shift wise activities for particular product

Hi, Is there any report exists to show shift wise activities carried on particular product, basically time taken,man/machine utilization,in-process rejection,machine break down etc.? how to generate the same.

Dear Yadav,
This report is something called as workcenter's performance report or as plant performance report.
In standard SAP again CO28 or COOIS or MCP7 or MCPH can be used.
But still in your case only a customized report can fulfill your requirement.

Shift wise confirmation and shift wise production report

To get shift wise production confirmation and reports, I have maintained the following setting ,
1- maintained shift sequence and with shift grouping,
2- assigned the shift grouping to work centers,
other theses settings, what other setting to be done for shift wise confirmations and also production reports,

We had similar requirement for our manufacturing plant.
We have done Z-Development for
1) Shiftwise - Linewise Production
2) Shiftwise - Beltwise Packing
1) for that we have define new control key
2) That key assigned to master recipe.
(Why new control key ?
New control key is defined specifically to generate this report. Because Auto GR is done only at the end of packing and not at the end of shift. But we want report for each shift. That's why after each shift end proposonatly that much qty is confirmed by new control key. However actual Goods receipt is only happened while completing total manufacutring or packing)
3) That control kept as base of Z-development.
4) As far as shift timings are concerned, we have taken actual shift timings of our manufacturing plant.
Hope this will help to resolve your problem.

Shift wise production report

Process:
I shift starts at 6.00 am and ends at 14.00 hrs
II shift starts at 14.00 hrs and ends at 22.00 hrs
III shift starts at 22.00 hrs and ends at 6.00 am (next day)
3.We confirm the qty in the t.code CO11N
The requirement is : How to take the Shift wise production report? , and also a report which shows consumption of components against production order in a shift.

For calculation of depreciation run shift wise , there are two things has to be maintain in asset master.
1. Shift factor for the asset
2. Variable proportion (this field u will able to find it in dep areas.)
Variable proportion is calculated out of the system.
Variable proportion will be calculated as follows :
(Difference between two dep rates as per shift wise X100)/ lower dep rate.

My client implementing OTL with projects, I need few informations.
1. Work shcedule can be generated for projects integration or it is only applicable for payroll integration. If possible with projects please let me know the steps to configure it.
2.What i understand from shift, work plan, rotan plan , holiday calender has to be attached to earning policy then assign to assignment. Earning policy can be created only when elements are there Am i right?
3.The scheduling Can we do it in payroll and projects based integration?
Client is expecting to autogenerate the timecards after it has been scheduled. I hope autogeneration with projects can be done only we have project resource management licene.(My client doest have one)

Duration of a shift and planned downtime

Hi All,
I checked the current postings, but couldn't find anything related to what I am looking for, while one or two related to time intervals and schedules was almost close...
I am a project manager working on an xMII implementation that currently is not running ERP.
The factory has a regular 8 hour shift schedule, a 6 hr weekend shift schedule, a 8 hr weekend shift schedule, a 6 hour holiday shift shift, and a 8 hr holiday shift. For the 6 hr shifts the planned downtime is 40 min. For the 8 hr holiday and weekend shifts the planned downtime is 65 min and the reg 8 hr shift has 75 min of planned downtime.
My understanding is that xMII first looks at the schedule and then the interval.
Does anyone have any idea around how the intervals could be set-up, linked to a schedule so that the code can see that the shift is 8 hrs in duration but because it is a holiday schedule 65 min of planned downtime should be subtracted instead of the usual 75 min?

Hi Susan,
Your understanding that 'xMII first looks at the schedule and then the interval' is accurate, but the standard time engine capabilities for Time Periods and Schedules doesn't really address your particular needs.
It is a little unclear where and how you want to apply the 75 or 65 minutes of downtime subtraction, but if you default this to 75 and then only adjust it to 65 when you are in a 'holiday' schedule you could probably accomplish your desired outcome.
A database table that contains the holiday start and end datetime shift ranges could be queried in relation to the current time for the notion of in/out of holiday mode. So if you default it to 75 and then if the query indicates a 'holiday mode' change it to 65 for the necessary subtraction.
