Hello there,
First of all, here's the sample output table.

| dec 17 00:30 | dec 17 |
| dec 17 01:30 | dec 17 |
| dec 17 02:30 | dec 17 |
+--------------+--------+The date_time column is from a database table, I want to generate the myDate column, and the cut-off time is 11pm.
How's the query for this?
Thanks in advance. :)
I see,
So how about this, this one is from the database

Extended Meta data date / time shift
Up to know it seems that Lightroom 3 can only enter a new date / time for the Meta data creation / change / modify values. Or it can shift the time in 1 hours steps to correct time zone problems whitin a define +/- range.
Now imagine about that I have image files from different cameras about the same event and the internal camera time is not the same at all camera, means, than e.g. one camera time is 20 minutes late (-20 min) compared to another camera. Of course, then I could enter a corrected time for the creation time in lightroom directly. But should I do that for 300 images???
I need an extended function of the date / time modification:
It should be possible to make a batch modification of all selected photos of +/- hh:mm:ss to adapt the images of one camera (which had a wrong interal time setting) to the real time or at least to a time of another camera (of course you have to know the exact time difference between the camera times).
Such a function is currectly provided by the little software EXIFTool - but it's not nice to handle the image files outside of Lightroom just to modify the time. And Lightroom already has a function for this - but it's possibilities are not good enough.
Please implement this as soon as possible.
Best regards,
JochenHi robtes,
thank you very much for the hint! I always thought that all selected images would be set to the same time if I use this function.
I guess then this is just a GUI problem. It should be somehow visible that in the grid view all selected images are shifted with the same amount of time. Additionally it would be an advantage to see how much time (+/-) it is shifted.
Nevertheless, it could have saved allot of my time if I knew that before. I tried to find something in the German help - but I didn't find the information you gave to me.
Finally this is a point which can still be improved.
Thanks again,
Jogi73 -
Lately there has been a need by many individuals to shift data for one reason or another. Possibly the data was collected without using a trigger to synch everything or just collected with an inevitable delay.
Would R&D look into a function that could mark two points in a customer's data and then align/shift the data so a comparison may be done of one data set against another?
Thanks!Feature is released with DIAdem 2015: Please use "Synchronize Data from Different Files" in panel ANALYSIS/Channel Functions

Issues with System Preference and its (Date & Time)
Hi All,
I am facing a problem with my Date settings on my Mac.
Below is a screenshot of how my time and date looks like on the top panel. (Please
take note of the weird time format.)
Then, I proceeded to check its settings on System Preferences. Once I clicked the Date & Time button ; System Preferences crashes and produces the following error log.

I don't understand how I should interprete this problem and I have done disk verification and repaired permissions via the "Restore Disk" utility which is performed by pressing down the OPTIONS button through a Restart.
Please advise me on this issue.Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy – do not type – the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
defaults delete -g AppleICUTimeFormatStrings
Log out and log back in. Try to open the Date & Time preference pane. If it opens, recreate your time-format settings.
If the pane still crashes, enter the following command in the same way as before:
rm Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
Log out and log back in again. You'll need to recreate more of your settings in several of the built-in preference panes. -
Need to add date/time stamp to file name without time change creating new files
We have setup our application to save data once a trigger event occurs. We also need the date/time stamp as part of the file name. We used Format Date/Time String and concatenated it into the file name. It all works good, but as the time changes (seconds, minutes, etc.) it causes the Write to File to create a new file with the new filename. Is there a way to create the file and save/latch/buffer the time in the file name so that it doesn't create a new file for every second?
I've attached a shot of the relevant part of our VI. It's all in a big while loop. The data save is in a case/switch so that when it is triggered it starts saving. (The for loop is to split the data up
into 4 different files). Like I said, it all works except new files are created every second as the time changes instead of just putting it all in one file with the initial time in the file name.

TimeInFileNameQuestion.jpg 46 KBI need a loop in order to use a shift register. I cannot stop the outer while loop (because it would stop the hardware from collecting data), and I cannot add loops inside which bogs down the processor to where the app stops. I've attached a simpler version of my VI which illustrates the problem. While the button is pressed (the trigger) it should save the data (in this case just cycle numbers) into one file with the initial date/time. But, you can see that it creates 1 file/second. I tried using shift registers, but without adding extra loops I can't see how to do it. Thanks

Graphing loses Date/Time stamp.
I use Field Point to collect pressure and temperature data. The each channel is calibrated for span and offset then stored and graphed. When I combine the array of pressures and send it to a date/time graph the date ends up being a random date. I find it absurd that NI has not fixed this simple problem. I have spent months working with them and all they have done is add pages of code and 60+ shift registers to fix such a simple problem.
Is there a smart programmer out that that can do this easily. Of the 5-6 NI programmers I have worked with. None of them have been able to give me a simple fix to this problem
Thanks for any advice. Can you post any of the code?

Is there any way possible or a preference to set which will not change the date and time stamps on my photos as I manipulate them in Lightroom?
> In other words, whenever DST starts or stops, the capture times will shift by 1 hour, and if you change your timezone in Windows, the displayed capture time will change to display the date/time the pictures were taken in your current timezone (rather than the capture time from the timezone the pictures were taken in.)
That has been fixed in LR2.
> Is there any way possible or a preference to set which will not change the date and time stamps on my photos as I manipulate them in Lightroom?
Manipulating images in LR cannot modify the date/time taken stored in EXIF. I think you a referring to file modification date as you see it in Explorer/Finder, which is quite a different thing.
If so, it goes like this... For proprietary Raw files (NEF, CR2 etc.) it never changes the timestamp, except when you use the 'Edit Capture Time' command. All metada changes are save in sidecar XMPs for these. For DNG, JPEG, TIFF and PSD they are modified each time you save metadata, since the metada is embedded into the actual file. You have no option to change this bevahiour.
Though, for any format you may choose not to save or embed any metadata, but keep it only inside the LR's catalog. Check (or uncheck) the respective prefs in the Catalog Settings dialog. -
Adjust date/time for multiple images
Wonder if anyone else is having this problem (some posts seem similar but not exactly the same)
1. Clean library (mix of DNG, JPEG and TIFF files)
2. Need to change dates to match other images in the project
3. Selected multiple images and used Metadata -> Adjust Date/Time
4. "Lead" image (bright white box) date and time adjusted accordingly but other images in the selection date have their capture date and time generated apparently randomly (I'm trying to set 08/01/2008 but I'm getting anything from 27/03/1982 to 24/12/2010!)
5. The dates do appear random - repeating the process will lead to different dates in the IPTC field
6. I've clean installed everything - drive format, OSX10.6.2, Aperture 3 - and rebuilt the library. The problem remains unchanged!
Any ideas?
Cheers,
AdrianI'd actually looked at this before attempting the metadata adjustment but checked it again just now to ensure I wasn't missing anything.
I guess if it's a shift based on the relative differences in the date of the imaes selected then that could explain the apparent random variations I'm getting. Although this would certainly be useful for the time stamp, when I'm trying to ensure all images in a project have the same date, relative changes certainly aren't!
I'd have to run it again tonight to confirm by comparing before/after adjustment dates. If that's what going on I think I'll have to get Adobe Bridge to do the heavy lifting for me..... just a shame I have to drag in another app rather than doing everything inside Aperture. -
Date/time original not set in EXIF
When importing TIF files without metadata in its header (e.g. from a scanner) using a metadata preset that does include the "date/time original" this date is ONLY set in the IPTC data block, not in the EXIF data block. This data item is supposed to be shared between IPTC, EXIF and XMP according to the metadata working group spec.
Is this an error or a feature of LR?
The only way I know to enter the "date/time original" into the EXIF block in LR is by editing the "edit/capture time" (via Library/Metadata) and shifting the time by 0 hours. This then copies the IPTC date into the EXIF block. Also works in batch.
EdwinIt is the internal backup battery, but replacing it is not simple. Also, new internal batteries are hard to find. You will see a lot of "used" batteries offered--somewhat like buying used chewing gum, IMHO.
You don't say which of the many PowerBook variants you have, but OWC sells new replacement backup batteries only for the 1.67ghz PBs with 17-inch monitors:
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/PRAMPBG417K/
Instructions for battery replacement are in these service guides:
http://www.ifixit.com/Device/PowerBook_G4_Aluminum_Series
NOTE: Apparenlty, 12-inch PowerBooks do not have internal backup batteries. You will see from these instructions that replaceing the batery--assuming you can find one--is not a trivial matter. -
IBook wont run on battery and date/time crashes when plug is removed
last night my iBook went black when I disconnected it from the battery so I could work freely in another room off the battery - when I re-plugged it in the date/time message screen came up that those functions were out of sync and needed to be re-programmed - I didn't lose any docs, thankfully.
Today - even though it's been rechargng all day, it did the same thing over and over and will not let me work on the computer without t being plugged in.
What is going on?These are the instructions you need to follow:
1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
2. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
3. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.
That's as simple as it gets.
How do you know you "clearly failed"?
When you press the test button on the battery, how many lights do you see? It would not be too unusual to need a new battery at 15 months of age.

Date/time-operations - need help
Hi there,
I have a simple question but i don't have really good ideas to solve the problem with ABAP.
This is the situation in which I need help:
I have many date/time-pairs (every in a single variable of type d and t). Now I want to compare one date/time-pair with a given date (also as pair). This will give a time difference between the two dates.
After that I want that all other date/time-pairs are shifted by this time difference (can be + and -).
So now my solution yet:
* FORM for calculation the time difference between 2 dates
FORM idoc_compare_dates USING iv_date_orig
iv_time_orig
iv_date_new
iv_time_new
CHANGING cv_diff TYPE p.
DATA: lv_timestamp_orig TYPE timestamp,
lv_timestamp_new TYPE timestamp.
* Creating timestamps for comparison
CONVERT DATE iv_date_orig TIME iv_time_orig
INTO TIME STAMP lv_timestamp_orig TIME ZONE sy-zonlo.
CONVERT DATE iv_date_new TIME iv_time_new
INTO TIME STAMP lv_timestamp_new TIME ZONE sy-zonlo.
* Calculation the time difference
cv_diff = lv_timestamp_new - lv_timestamp_orig.
ENDFORM. " IDOC_COMPARE_DATES
* FORM for shifting a date by the time period calculated in the first FORM
FORM idoc_calc_single_date USING iv_diff TYPE p
iv_date_orig
iv_time_orig
CHANGING cv_date_new
cv_time_new.
DATA: lv_timestamp_orig TYPE timestamp,
lv_timestamp_new TYPE timestamp.
* Creating a timestamp for the original date
CONVERT DATE iv_date_orig TIME iv_time_orig
INTO TIME STAMP lv_timestamp_orig TIME ZONE sy-zonlo.
* Shifting the date
lv_timestamp_new = lv_timestamp_orig + iv_diff.
* Creating the new date into the output-variables
CONVERT TIME STAMP lv_timestamp_new TIME ZONE sy-zonlo
INTO DATE cv_date_new TIME cv_time_new.
ENDFORM. " IDOC_CALC_SINGLE_DATE
I am not sure if this coding above is really correct. Can you please check it? Perhaps you have also other ideas to solve this problem?
Thank you!!
Kind regardsThank you for your answers. Now I've created a small dummy-report, that tests the logic. And I think it seems to be okay.

Formatted Search - Date Time Stamps
Hi,
We are trying to use a Date & Time Stamp for two udf's of which I will then calculate the difference in a report. I have a couple of issues. Ideally the user would enter the Start field (udf1), click Shift-F2 and that udf would be populated with a Date/Time Stamp like: 07/12/09 14:30:00 or 07/12/09 02:30PM. The user would also do the same thing for the End field (udf), so I end up with two udf's that both hold a Date/Time Stamp described above.
1 - It looks like I will either need two udf's each for both stamps, one for the Date (date field type) and one for the Time (hour field type)...or I will need to use an alphanumeric field type to hold the whole timestamp. When using the hour field type I still have some issues.
and
2 - I can't seem to get the right sql (sbo query) function to return the date/time stamp and / or I can't cast it or format it the way I would like.
-If the udf is date field, I can use the GetDate function, but it doesn't seem to get the time with it or the field isn't big enough or formatted properly.
-If the udf is an alphanumeric field, I cast the GetDate function as nvarchar and it returns the date/time stamp, but it is an alpha field and the date is Jul 21 2009 4:41PM. I don't like the Jul 21 2009 formatting
-If I use two fields, one for date (date type) and one for time (hours type), the date is formatted the way I like, but the hours field doesn't display the AM or PM and my formatted search doesn't return military time (14:00 instead of 2:00PM), so I can't tell if 2:00 is morning or afternoon.
So I guess my questions are pretty general...Am I using the correct field types? Any suggestions on what to use? Are there any other ways to format this data? Not all date functions or casts (time, smalldatetime) work in the sbo query so I am looking for options. Any suggestions on what functions or cast to use?
ThanksHi,
As you already aware, within B1 you may not treat datetime field easily. For one of your request: I don't like the Jul 21 2009 formatting. You could use function such as
Select CONVERT(nvarchar(30), GETDATE(),106)
to change it to 21 Jul 2009.
Thanks,

Ipad/iphone shifts calendar times +1hr after syncing with Outlook or ical
Hi,
I am having a problem when I sync my (PC) outlook calendar to my iphone(OS4.1) or ipad.(And my wife is having exactly the same problem when she syncs her iphone/ipad with her macbook pro (she uses ical/snow leopard)).
I live in a time zone that is GMT +3hrs. There is no summer time change here. Both devices are set to GMT +3Hrs with no summer time changes / daylight savings.
Every month I upload a calendar electronically to Outlook (from a program called Roster2Outlook) and occasionally enter some data into it manually on my PC and on my iphone/ipad.
The problem is this:-
When I sync my PC with my iphone/ipad the times on the iphone/ipad are always 1 hour later than displayed on my calendar in outlook on my PC. I then have to modify the times on my iphone and take off 1hour. If I enter an event on my iphone it appears in my calendar in Outlook 1 hour earlier (after a sync).
I get several monthly changes to my schedule and then when I update my outlook calender and sync it to my iphone again, all the times appear 1Hr later on my iphone and have to be manually adjusted.
This may seem trivial, but when one event is added on one device and it shows up at a different time on another device, it gets very confussing, as you never know which time is correct in your calendar, as it depends on which device you entered it and whether you synced it or not! I am tearing my hair out.
I also sync my calandar to my ipad, which appears to be doing the same thing.
So, to cut a long story short, any idea's why this is happening and how to fix it? (Please don't tell me I have the wrong time zone set on a device - because I haven't - they are all on the same time zone!)
I did have an idea that I could "shift" the calendar that I electronically upload to Outlook back by 1 Hour, so that the times would be 1Hr wrong in outlook but correct on my iphone and ipad (the devices that I predominantly use) but this still doesn't solve the problem of it being a bodge!
Any ideas / solutions much appreciated. Anyone else having this problem?
Please help!
Cheers,
i eye.I figured out my iPad sync issue. First of all, I swore up and down I had all my time zone preferences set correctly in both google calendar and on my iPad. I was wrong.
There are two places in google calendar that can cause an issue:
(1) Settings>Calendar Settings>General
(2) Settings>Calendar Settings>Calendars>[Individual Calendar]
There are two places on the iPad to check:
(1) Settings>General>Date & Time (however I think this might not do anything because.....)
(2) Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Calendars>Time Zone Support (this was the elusive one for me)
But It's fixed now and I'm happy. -
HT204570 Photos how to fix messed up metadata (geolocation/date & time)
Since I migrated my Photolibrary to iCloud Photo Library, information on my photos, such as geolocation and date have been messed up.
The original date & time is set off by a random amount of time, (months even) and the geolocation data seems to have been altered. (Miles off)
How can I restore the original data or fix the fotos?
Tia
BartIf the date shift is the same for all selected photos using the Image ➙ Adjust Date and Time menu option
you can batch adjust the time for all photos: -
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Let me start by saying I am totally frustrated!!! I am trying to adjust the dates/times from a 10 day vacation. I have created an album for each day of the trip and would like the correct date for each album to be reflected in the info window. Having said that, I got pictures from other people on the trip and of course they never set their cameras to the correct date/time. So when I used the feature to "Adjust Date and Time", I now have photos that still have the incorrect date. Some of them aren't even in the same year. I am assuming this is happening since the date set on their camera was probably 5 or more years before the current year.
One thing that is odd is the fact that when I do a sort of my entire library, they are sorted entirely correctly. So that is good, I guess I am just a little anal and when I look at the info window, I want to see the date the picture was taken.
So my question is, is there a way to get a group of photos to reflect the date I want? At this point I really don't care about the time but wouldn't mind if that worked as well. I just don't want the photos to say they are from 2010 or later, when they aren't.
ThanksTry selecting the event or album and using batch change from the "photos" menu.
There you can select time, date, or description.
This would set all the photos to the same date and time.
Also modify original.
I believe that is what you're looking for.
good luck
BTW if you didn't know the "adjust time and date" shifts selected photo date, time the amount selected.
Handy if you camera was off and hour or whatever.
