Shifting musical keyboard

Is there a way to shift the 'musical typing' keys along, so that instead of playing the notes C - F, it will play, for example, B - E?
I am trying to play Summertime which goes from B - C, and can't play the lower B. Moving up or down an octave doesn't help, and the 'keyboard' option is too awkward to play clicking each note.

Shift-Tab Keyboard Shortcut not working

For some reason, my Shift-Tab keyboard shortcut is not work in TextEdit, PowerPoint, and NeoOffice. Has anyone else run into this problem?
It's very annoying having to deal with Bulleted lists and setting the proper indentation!
I did a clean install of Leopard as well as updating to the 10.5.1 patch just released.

Well, I found the problem. The new Speech option, "Speak selected text when key is pressed" to the Shift+Tab combo by default. Changing this to something else or disabling it fixes the problem.

How to connect to a yamaha PSR-E423 music keyboard

How do I download songs from my mac to a Yamaha PSR-E423 music keyboard. I have in stalled the drivers but now what?

Yes I did both aforementioned activities and Mac does recognise it as a USB device but there is no method to transfer midi files from supplied cd to Yamaha PSR-E423. It does not show up as a Folder to drag files into like the Windows version in the manual. Thanks for responding.

Command+Return and Shift+Return keyboard shortcuts stopped working

I'm using Firefox 4.0 on a 21.5" iMac running Mac OS X version 10.6.7. Just this morning, the command+return and shift+return keyboard shortcuts to auto-complete the .com and .net addresses of websites stopped working. Command+w still closes a tab, and command+left click still opens a tab in a new window. However, when I type anything in the address bar ("mac" for example) and then hit command+enter, Firefox opens up a new tab with a Google search for the word I typed. The address for this new tab is as follows:

Any idea what gives? I'm rather perplexed and frustrated.

P.S.: In my about this mac thing, it says i have version 10.9.1, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and Memory is 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

If there is not enough RAM, OS X temporarily stores RAM data on the harddrive and tries to retrieve it back into RAM when needed, unfortunately that is so slow that GB throws an error as it cannot play it all in real time.

okay, so i bought an audigy 2 zs a few weeks ago...plugged it in, worked great....all that...okay so i got this music keyboard, a roland phantom s88, is ther a way i can plug in the roland into the audigy using a coaxial digital or optical digital cable? cuz the keyboard has those outputs but i'm not sure if the audigy has those imputs, i know the platinum does but does the normal zs? an if it does, what cables an adapters do i need?...thanks

Are you using your sound card for high end digital recording? If so let me make a suggestion for you. The new Creative Professional line of cards by EMU are designed to work with professional equipment which means that they all have at least an Optical and Coaxial SPDIF on them. More information can be found on these cards at www.emu.com and they are listed as Digital Audio Systems.

You can record the audio output of the keyboard - i.e. its own sounds - by plugging the output to the line in of your Mac (if it has one) or to a suitable audio-USB interface.
You can use the keyboard to drive GarageBand - using GB's own sounds - by plugging the MIDI output (a round socket with five smaller sockets within it in a semicircle) into a suitable MIDI-SUB interface.
This keyboard, according to the published specs, does not have a USB connection so the problems about compatibility do not arise. (Casio keyboards with a USB connection for MIDI notoriously don't work with Macs). The incompatibility mentioned in the previous post concerns the transfer of programs and MIDI files to the keyboard rather than using the keyboard as a MIDI source.
There are a number of suitable interfaces around, such as those made by Edirol.

I am trying to connect the psre403 to the mac via usb. I downloaded the driver, and installed it, but still not recognizing the midi/usb input to the mac. I looked in the AudioMidi utility to try to set it up there, but didn't recognize the keyboard. Garageband sees 0 midi devices. I tried changing various settings on the keyboard and only succeeded in getting no sound anywhere.
Help, please, any one - 5 days to Christmas and I am trying to get this ready to go for my son!

Musical keyboard connection assistance.

Would anyone know how to receive sound from a musical keyboard, with the connection of an AUX cord? I have the required 1/8" adapter for my laptop and the aux cord for the keyboard port, yet no sound from either source. My laptop is acting as though it is connected with headphones and vice versa from my laptop.

What is "the midi to USB cable"? If it is a working midi interface, you can plug any midi capable keyboard into it.

Uppercase R, Right shift, capitalisation keyboaRd erRoR

I just got a new macbook aiR, as you can see the R key is always uppercase. very funny Apple, now how do I fix it.
I tried Replacing the keyboaRd mapping file with one I made in Ukelele (gReat tool) but while this fixed the @, ", |, \ (etc.) making them more like the keyboaRds us BRits aRe used to, it did not fix the issue.
The sound of the Right shift modifier can be heaRd each time I depRess the R key.
The issue is tempeRamental, 13 times of out 17, the R key will be uppercase, but if I delete a lowercase R and Replace it, it might come out as lowercase.
If I type quickly, the sound of the shift modifier is heaRd but the R key Remains lowercase.
I can get a lowercase R by typing a letter immediately befoRe the R oR immediately afterwaRds, though this doesnt always work.
If I type R once per second into an editoR such as textmate, I will get this:
RrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
after a while it will be permanently on R, however if I pRess RetuRn and then move the tracker and click on a menu, and then try again I will get this

it always staRts with a lowercase R, and only after a while does it RetuRn,
No applications woRk 100%, and everything I have said is Repeatable!

Can someone thRow some light on this, I'm happy to try steps, before I contact Apple by phone, as I can see hours of frustration might be had theRe!

Not impRessed to be honest. How haRd can it be to ensuRe standaRd softwaRe actually woRks - it was affected Right from opening the case. Even my mac passwoRd has an uppercase R in it Right from the setup scReen.

Music Keyboard not working with USB3

Hi, I have bought a M-audio keyboard (49e) and after try many times I have realised the my MAC was not seeing it because my USB ports are USB3, the keyboard works only with USB 2, how can I resolve this problem? is there any trasforrmed I can buy or anythin else I can do? Many thanks.

Identical problem here too! Will continue looking for a solution whilst looking for a new phone. Incidentally I have tried reloading software several times. Each time the keyboard resumes normal function without the presence of sim card, but whenever the sim is inserted certain keys cease to function, so can't enter password.

Please could somebody help me in this issue ..?I used to record my keybord sounds in old version by selecting no effects,sound was perfect but in new vesion my keyboard sounds very dull like mono. I connected my keyboard exactly the same way as I used to connect to old version through jack lead.Please help me how to record or connect keyboard to new garageband.Thanks in advance.

Im gonna make an “Ó”, If I put my finger in the “O” the symbols appear so if I slide my finger on the line where the “O” is I mean “QWERTYUIOP” it works perfectly but if I slide it on the down line I mean “ASDFGHJKL” it doesn’t work. I’ll really appreciate if you try what I’m saying and tell my if the same happens to you.
