Ship Via Express vs Standand

Does anyone know if Ship Via Express is USPS, UPS or FedEx? How much faster is Ship Via Express than Ship Via Standard?
G5 2GHz Dual Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I don't remember exactly where they were shipped from by near Sacramento sounds familiar. The soft cover medium come in envelopes and the first was scrunched into the mail box. It didn't crease the book but could have. The large book, if shipped similarly probably would have been creased knowing how some other large envelops have been added to our mail box in the past.
The medium's quality was sub par if you compare to the large hard cover. The half tone/dither pattern was obvious to the naked eye at close range. For the intended use, a memory book for each grandkid of a day at SeaWorld with the grandparents, it was perfect. So "quality" is really a matter of intended use and expectations.
Will be interested to see how the medium books turn out now that we're at V6.

Thank you for that, I wanted to make sure I was trying to replicate the same thing as you. Just tried it now, works fine for me.
Of note though, this will take a relatively well performing network to achieve this, I have such a network, if your network is not as good as it might be, you might encounter problems.
For the avoidance of doubt, I used the remote app on my phone to get my iTunes library on my computer to stream music to 3 of my Apple TVs, I then used the remote app to control another Apple TV and get it to stream a music video from my computer to it. Of interest I managed to do this while my wife was using yet another Apple TV (not with the remote app) to watch something else from iTunes on my computer.

Apple's delivery informatin is here - basically they say 3 to 5 business days for production plus shippin gtime based on your choice of shipping - my personal experiance has been that this is a conservative estimate but I am in CA

Control Levels via Expression

Is there a way to use a slider to control the various attributes that make up a levels adjustment via expression? I am able to set them via scripting and have done so. However, the stopwatch that lets me create an expression is linked to the histogram as a whole, not its individual components, i.e. input black, input white, gamma, etc. Is this possible or am I barking up the wrong tree here? The goal is to control multiple levels applied to individual clips in one nice, neat location. An adjustment layer will not work for me because of layering. Also, I do not want my background to be effected by the adjustment, just a few of the pieces that make up my foreground objects.

Unable to connect to VM's in new cloud service via express route

We have changed our express route setup, initially we had an express route via London, but we have added a second one via Amsterdam and removed the one via London. All existing and new vm's in the different vnet's have connection to our local datacenter,
but as soon as we create vm's in a new cloud service the published routes don't seem to be picked up and the machine are only reachable in their local vnet on azure.
Does anyone have an idea where to look, it looks like the route publishing does not seem to work correctly, but it is strange that new vm's in existing cloud service do work correctly. BGP peering and vnet have been provided access via the expressroute and
all have status provisioned.

When I try to connect to a new vm via rdp or try to do a tracert to the machine (with firewall turned off on the vm) I don't get a response (traffic is routed via the express-route correctly). If I do a tracert to an ip on the on premise network
from the vm in question the trace is directed to internet instead of to the on premise network via the express route.
the new cloud services were created in the same region as the working cloud services and the vm's are also in the same vnet/subnet as the working vm's. If I delete a vm (keeping the disks) from a new cloud service and redeployed it in an existing cloud service
I can reach it again via the internal ip.
We have checked the route publishing and the correct routes are published to the express route/vnet.
When I check the provisioning of the vnet's via get-azurededicatedcircuitlink all the vnet's in question are listed as provisioned.
I'll try to remove the bpgrouting for the original expressroute this evening to see if that helps.

Printing to Photosmart printer via express

I am trying to print photos from iphoto to our photosmart printer via our airport express. Everything works fine up to the point where the photo paper starts loading into the printer. Half way thru loading a message comes up on the printer that the paper is too small and press OK to cancel. Any one have any suggestions to solve this. Thanks

Before printing.
File > Page Setup...
Ensure that the settings are correct here before trying to print.
If you change them in the print dialogue, as in
File > Print
then change the print and page settings, then iPhoto will use the original page settings and not the ones you've just entered.
If this does not work then connect the printer direct to the mac to print photos.

Airplay audio from Apple TV via Express and Video to TV

I am hoping to play video to TV via HDMI and at the same time use the Airport Express connected to better speakers to play the audio via airplay.
Not using the optical out for audio as my speaker system does not have the optical input. I only wish the new apple tv 3 rumored to be out next week has one more audio output. In the mean time i was hoping apple tv could do the simultaneous airplay audio through airport express.
Did anyone try this?

I have the same question, and have not found any way to mirror the audio portion of AppleTV video to Airplay speakers on my network.
But if your amp and speakers are close to the TV, you don't need to use the optical port. You could either use and HDMI splitter, or use the audio out on the TV to pass the audio to the amp/speakers.
NOTE: Latency may be one of the reasons Apple doesn't want to attempt this—the audio not syncing with the video... This weekend I am going to try using two third-party products, AirFoil and/or AirParrot, to see if I can stream video to the ATV and send the audio to other speakers. AirFoil has a video player built in that they say addresses the latency issue.

Connect to printer via Express via Extreme

I have a Canon printer connected via USB to my Extreme base station which is connected to my DSL modem. It prints fine. I run an internet connection off of the ethernet port and send it to an Express base station to my shop. My question is this - Is it possible to print from this Extreme base station via the Extreme base station that is connected to the printer?

Answered my own question. Got it to work via Bonjour. It wouldn't recognize the printer earlier but works fine now. Prints from both my Powerbook and a PC running XP.

Print / scan to Brother networked printer via Express

I have a Brother MFC-5840CN networked through my router. I have been able to setup the print and scan functions pretty easily for connected computers. However...
I am trying to use an Airport Express to connect to the network so that I can print to the Brother printer. Currently when I print, the wireless computer is not able to communicate with the printer.
In the Airport Admin Utility I have unchecked the "Distribute IP addresses" checkbox so that the IP address appears to be on my network. I am not really sure if I am setting it up the right way. I don't know if I have to enable the DHCP on the Express and do some sort of port mapping?
Can anyone make any suggestions?
Maybe I am going about it all wrong, but from what I have heard if I connect the printer directly to the Express via USB I cannot scan (have information sent back to the wireless computers)? In addition I cannot connect the printers ethernet connection to the Express because then I would not be able to print from the networked (non-wireless) computers.
I would really appreciate any help. I'm sure this will take someone with some pretty advanced networking experience.

From what you have described - you have done everything correctly.
As you are aware, you cannot use the scanning function of an all-in-one printer if it is connected to the USB port of an Airport Express.
Since you have an all-in-one printer designed for connection directly to a network, you have done the right thing by cabling the MGC-5840CN to your ethernet network.
You have also done the right thing by cabling the Airport Express to that same network, and disabling the router built into the Airport Express by unchecking the setting to "Distribute IP addresses". NO other changes need to be made to the Express, specifically you do NOT need to implement port mapping nor do you need to enable DHCP.
My questions:
- after you reconfigured the Airport Express, did you restart all wireless computers?
- what is the IP address of the wireless Mac (check in System Preferences->Network->Airport->TCP/IP tab)? Of the printer?

Video Audio will not stream via express

Hi - Using iTunes, I am able to stream music and podcast audio to my Apple Hi-Fi speakers via Airport Express. However, VidoeCast, TV Shows and purchased movies will not stream... am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround?

Streaming movie audio only is quite different from streaming both audio and video. The problem comes in the prebuffering that's necessary to keep the audio from skipping, which makes the audio lag behind the video. To keep them in sync, the AirTunes protocol would have to be considerably more complex: iTunes would have to be able to advance the video ahead of the audio by a predictable amount to ensure that they don't fall out of sync. I can see Apple's point for not supporting it since the Express is intended as an audio device and was never intended for the audio associated with video.

How does Apple ship via FedEx if FedEx doesn't support Macs?

I just got off the phone with FedEx and they said that they don't support Macs...
Which is weird since everything I've ever ordered from Apple has come FedEx.
So how does Apple ship our via FedEx? Do they have custom software for label printer support, and if so is that available to Mac users?
I'm guessing there aren't a bunch of PCs in the warehouse... well I hope not.

Full auto-orient via expression

Hi!
I'd like a 3D Null to get the orientation of 3D a layer. (without parenting, it would be too easy )
I've tried a lot of solutions, through orientation, rotations, both combined... some results are close, but never perfect.
If I'm right, orientation is computed before rotations...
I think the simplest way would be with auto-orientation, or the lookAt() expression on orientation, wich gives me correct X and Y orientations, and then get an expression on zRotation to get a "full" orientation.
But what would it be?
How can I get the Z orientation in layer space?
Any idea will be appreciated!

I haven't tested it that much but the idea seems fine to me. In the scale expression note that I start the loop from the parent layer because in my case I want my parented layer to have the exact same scale.

Shipping via Aust Post integration

I assumed that if you entered a product's dimensions and weight, and have the Aust Post option in shipping options, that it would calculate the correct price.
However, no matter what I change the dimensions or weight to, it still only charges the same flat price from Australia post. Is there something I am missing?

Well with the others you need an account, Australia post itself does not but have you added all your options in the admin her:
