Shiping Delays for iPhone 4 Otterbox Defender

Dear Valued Customer,
Due to an overwhelming demand from all of our customers (end users, carriers, distributors, resellers, etc.) interested in the Defender Series™ for iPhone® 4 as well unexpected weather delays in China and Alaska, OtterBox™ is experiencing longer than usual order processing. Additionally, technical difficulties at our warehouse last week caused shipments to be sent out of sequence. We are doing our very best to send out orders in a timely fashion and from this point forward all purchases will be shipped in the order they were received.
Until all existing orders in our system are fulfilled, we are not offering expedited shipping and purchases are averaging a 14 business day processing time from the time your order was placed. Once your order is shipped your credit card will be charged and you will receive an email with tracking information. As an apology for our error and delay, your order will receive $5 off per Defender Series case for iPhone 4 ordered, which will reflect on the charge you get when your order is shipped.
We value your business and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
Best Regards,
OtterBox

Wal Mart has them, at least our local one does.

  • Should I keep the Otterbox Defender screen protector for iPhone 4S

Hello everyone! I have a quick question. I own a Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 4S and was thinking about removing the built in screen protector and replacing it with a Invisible Sheild from Zagg. Do you guys think I should do this? Also do you think a full body Zagg can protect my iPhone without a case? Let me know your thoughts and opinions! Thank you!

I originally used the Otterbox Defender with my 4S, and I immediately removed the built-in screen protector. I didn't like the way it felt when using the touch screen. Instead, I applied a screen protector directly to the screen. (I can't remember the brand since it's been almost two years.) I didn't care about dust protection. I just cared about impact protection.
After a few months, I ditched the Defender because it was too bulky. I've used an Incipio case since then and my phone still looks like new.

  • Iphone 5 Otterbox Defender Case...Only Black?

So they are showing an otterbox defender case for the Iphone 5 on verizons website but the only color is black, but right below the description they show part numbers for the other colors.  Any reason they are not offering the other colors yet, they are all over the otterbox site already and i get a good discount here at verizon that i would like to take advantage of.

I preordered mine from Otterbox.  They sent an email last week and I ordered immediately.  I liked the color (aqua) and I got the commuter series (I had the Defender, but it is way to bulky for me).  I think it is worth it not to deal with the hassle of a store unless you live in an area where you think there will be a good supply.  Good luck.

  • Otterbox Defender WILL fit V iPhone!

If you are like me, you do not want to wait until friday to pick up the Defender.
I went into the AT&T store and bought one for $50, which isn't too bad. At first, there is a small white tab under the vibrate toggle switch that will not let you toggle it to silence/volume, but if you take a pair of scissors or knife, you can shave off a tiny bit and it works perfect, and DOES NOT affect the case at all. It is pretty soft plastic so it shaved off nicely and still looks the same since the silicone covers it, now my toggle switch works great, and there is even a bit of room for easy access.
Just wanted to let you guys know, since this seems to be a pretty popular case. It is amazing. Only downside it that I ordered screen protectors, and you don't need them with this case since one is provided, but hey, that isn't too bad of a complaint, right?

Just a tip for anyone wanting the defender case. Buy it off of Amazon it's only $22 there for the all black one. The other colors cost a few dollars more but they're still $30 or less.

Most places charge around $50 for those cases. Amazon just seems to always have the best prices on everything. I check Amazon's price before I buy anything, lol. I'd return it if I was you. $28 is a big difference.

  • Otterbox Defender Case of iPhone 4S

I bougth a Otterbox Defender and used it for 1 week............it is great for iPhone protection but in the included holster (plastic), it is just too bulky to carry around on the belt.  Love the protection...hate the bulkiness.
Now bought a very thin rubber case that adds very little to thickness or weight.  Need a holster that will fix the iPhone 4S.  Tried the BB case and the width is A-OK but the length is too short.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
Oh, and make me an offer for the Otterbox plus shipping and it's your for a decent offer.

I have no problem with eBay.  Just offering if someone on this forum wanted a real good deal.
But, I digress.  Googling what???  Holster with rubber casing around iPhone 4S?  You try it and see what you get.  I tryed it.
If you want to give info........please try and give useful info.
I asked a question and if anyone had done this before they would have the information to help.  Your info is useless.  No one needs a SA remark.
But, I will thank you anyway.

  • Should you put a screen protector on the iphone if the case is going to be a otterbox defender?

I am trying to figure out if I need a screen protector on my iphone 4s if I am using a Otterbox Defender.  The salesman suggested I should but I know a lot of people who do not use any screen protection on other cases/shells.

I never used a screen protector while my iPhone was in the Defender case. The Otterbox case is engineered to protect your device. I'm not sure why the salesman suggested you use both. I used the Otterbox Defender case for a little over a year and my iPhone was flawless when I removed it. Hope this helps.

  • Has anyone noticed that the Otterbox Defender case for the Droid Maxx is not manufactured correctly?

After ordering 2 cases from Otterbox directly, and having to send both of them back, I called a Verizon store and had them compare the Otterbox Defender case for the Droid Maxx to the actual phone.  They were surprised to note that the hole for the camera on the case (to the left of the speaker) was on the opposite side of the camera on the phone (to the right of the speaker).  And, there is no hole for the camera's sensor on the Otterbox case.

Then return it to an Apple Store and complain and if neccessary get your money back

  • Case for iphone 6 plus with lightning to 30 pin adapter?

I recently upgraded to a iPhone 6 plus from an iPhone 5.  I have been using the square lightning to 30 pin adapter to adapt the 30 pin plugs on both my bedside clock radio/dock for overnight charging and in the glovebox connector in my 2013 VW Jetta.  I had no issues connecting the plug with an Otterbox Defender on my iPhone 5.  However, there are very few cases on the market right now for the iPhone 6 plus, and the Otterbox was not readily available when I purchased the phone 2 weeks ago, and I'm also not so sure I want to fork over the $60 since Apple isn't recommending the Otterboxes anyways.  I'm not sure I buy into the Lifeproof concept, although I know some people love them.  The Tech21 cases also have to be ordered, and don't have integrated screen protection like the Otterbox Defender.  Admittedly, as careful as I try to be with my phone, I am a dropper and need a protective case.  I ordered a cheaper Caseology case, but it does not allow the lightning to 30 pin adapter plug to attach, so I cannot charge my phone on my bedside dock or in my car with the adapter.  I looked at the Spigen cases online as well as several others, but none of them seem, from visual inspection of the online photos, to have the large opening that the Otterbox for my iPhone 5 did that allowed the adapter to be connected.
Yes, I could buy extra lightning cables and reinvent my whole charging system, but I have found the cables to be not nearly as durable as the adapters (I've gone through many cables in the last two plus years, but still have the same two adapters.)  I would rather find a case that accommodates the adapter.  Any suggestions for cases that will allow the adapter to be attached with the case still on?

Have a look at cableJive they make the dockStubz which might do what you are looking for

  • Otterbox defender case sometimes prevents touch screen operation

My Droid charge screen goes black during or at the end of a phone call and no amount of touching the screen or pushing the buttons on the phone anywhere makes any difference.  I have to take the rubber covering off and open the Otterbox case to get the screen to light back up.  Everything on the screen is exactly where it would have been without the case when I do this and I can close the phone conversation and get the phone back to the main screen, then put it all back together in the case again.  I could understand if the Otterbox screen was too thick to allow me to touch the phone pad keys on the screen, but why can't any of the external buttons override this for me?  It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to make it somewhat annoying, as the phone call remains connected until I get thru the process of removing it from the case.  Someone on the other end has probably been the recipient of some carefully chosen epithets as I struggled to get the phone call disconnected from my end, I'm sure.
I'm happy with this phone, don't get me wrong, but I need to know if anyone else has had this experience and how they are dealing with it.  I have to use the phone in my construction work, so the Otterbox is also a necessity.

Has anyone else had trouble with screen sensitivity on the Otterbox Defender case for the iPhone 3GS? I've had mine on for a few days and have a hard time getting the screen to respond when I try to touch buttons on the edges of the screen.
Are you saying that removing the phone from the Otterbox solves this problem? Very strange, if so.

  • Dock Extender Cable for iPhone 4

Why doesn't apple have one of these? I know Cablejive does. I had received one for my iPhone 4 with my Otterbox Defender case, but now realize that the note on the Otterbox website was only for iPhone 3/3GS phones only. I cuoghed up 25.95 when I only needed to spend 15.95. I'm gonna see if BestBuy has one and ask for a refund by Cablejive.

It was definitely the best investment I have made - works with my OtterBox, Element Vapor and my iPhon 4 with bumper. http://www.gadgetboost.com/products/Griffin-Stream-Line-Sport-Armband-for-iPod-N ano.html Not too expensive either

  • Most satisfying indestructible shock-absorbing tank armor for iphone 3G

I need the best (best=highly satisfying) case in terms of protection for the iphone 3G I ordered. I know there are a lot of posts on this subject but I have very specific preferences and don't want to spend hours reading tons of posts on every channel out there. I like to first ask you friends out there whom I trust and have experience.
Just imagine that I am a Marine going into battle, what kind of case would I want.
_What I need in a case:_
Hard protection for the iPhone overall
Hard protection for the screen (perhaps most importantly from all the stories I have heard)
Shock-absorbing rubber-like protection for if (God forbid) I drop it
Seamless protection to protect the iPhone including its ports and whatnot from the elements (dust, moisture, kids sticky fingers)
    _What would also be nice:_
    Near as possible waterproofing
    Access to using the screen
Access to other functions, buttons, ports, etc. For instance, I would like to charge/sync without taking it out of the case
Won't scratch or damage the iPhone while being worn
Won't require me to take out a loan
    _What I don't care about:_
Belt clip. Where I live, you don't want to be walking around with an expensive piece of technology hanging around on your person. You are asking for special attention.
Looks, style, sweetness, yeah I know the iPhone is sexy but I'm more pragmatic and need protection for this very expensive and, let's face it, fragile machine. It's small and will be going everywhere. Looks don't matter much when you're a dead and useless hunk of nothin'. Also, I don't care if it looks unprofessional or stupid, where I work you look as professional as you write (please don't take this post as an example of my best work), not by the jacket your phone wears.
Bulkiness. I don't care how big the case makes it as long as it can still go in my pocket.
I appreciate any of your recommendations whether they are from personal experience or something you have researched yourself. If you do have experience with a case that was meant to be high on protection, then please share your story. For instance, I know the Otterbox Defender is well-established, or how about those Ivyskins, but has any of them lived up to their names?

Yes, you are right. I get really paranoid with a new device. I try to keep all my electronics pristine for as long as possible. I had my macbook pro for well over a year and still baby it (and it still looks great thanks to a moshi codex case combined with a Tom Bihn brain cell).
I have ordered the zagg invisible shield and the defender. I am going to try to see if it will fit in the defender with just the front on, since I am most nervous about the screen (and if I decide, I can revert to just the shield).
I surfed the auctions on ebay to see if I could get a cheap iPhone and it just led me through the graveyard of broken screens and water damaged corpses. It scarred me, I think. I saw a post of a guy who broke his screen the first day he got his iPhone. Depressing.
I know the feeling will go away but for the first couple of months, having maximum outrageous protection will help me relax and enjoy having the device. Otherwise, I'm it will just be a worry-wart that I'll keep in the box, afraid of exposing it to the real world.

  • Question about the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD for iPhone 4

Does it affect the clearness of the retina display screen on the iPhone 4? Also, does the maximum coverage cover the band that goes around the phone very well? Just trying to get a better feel for the Zqgg invisibleSHIELD.
    Stephan

I just got the iPhone 4 and decided to compliment it with the InvisibleShield from Zagg, having the same shield on my iPod Touch and loved it. I went with the Max Coverage version which comes with front/back/sides coverage. I also picked up the Otterbox Defender case to go with it.
Since the Otterbox Defender fits the iPhone so snuggly, I was not able to keep the side shields on the iPhone, and even with the front and back shields in place it was tricky to make it fit properly into the case, but wasn't impossible, so I currently have the front/back shields on and the iPhone is in the Otterbox.
The problem: The protective shield on the Otterbox seems to stick to the InvisibleShield film and causes a pressed look. I am able to "unstick" the two shields by squeezing the sides of the Otterbox so that the Otterbox shield lifts away from InvisibleShield but this is hardly ideal, and a few touches later and I'm back to square one..I am tempted to just remove the InvisibleShield completely from the front...do I really need both shields anyway?? It would be nice to keep the InvisibleShield on though, for times where I may not have it in the Otterbox.
Has anyone experienced this issue and have a solution, aside from removing the InvisibleShield???
