Shipment Cost Estimate
A Forwarding Agent is used for logistics of materials from point A to B. He is responsible for loading, conveyance and unloading.
There is a price for the tendered shipment which should not be exceeded by the shipper. The price is fixed by SHIPPER before tendering.
How do you make configuration for Shipment Cost Estimate calculation ? Please let me know..Its urgent.
Thanks
Hi Siddharth,
Shipment cost in shipping contains create the shipment cost doc., process the shipment, monitor the shipment, calculate the shipment and settle the shipment.
Shipment cost doc. contains calculate the shipment, assign to accounting, transfer to FI and settle the shipment cost.
Shipment cost doc. divided into header, item and sub item data.
We need to assign transportation planning point to com. code to calculate and settle the shipment cost.
1. Define date rules:- In this IMG activity you define the date rules that determine which dates are chosen for determining the pricing date and the settlement date and the sequence in which they are accessed. The dates can be, for example, the end of transportation planning or the start of lading.
2. Define and assign tariff zones:-In this IMG activity, you define the tariff zones and assign postal code areas to the tariff zones for each organizational key. The tariff zones are represent geographical influencing factors during the calculation of shipment costs.
3. Define no. ranges for shipment cost:-In this IMG activity you define the number interval for the shipment cost documents. When creating a shipment cost document, a unique number is generated. The number comes from the number range that you create in this menu point as the internal number range.
You can also create an external number range. The option to specify a number from the external number range when creating the shipment cost document is, however, not currently supported.
4. Shipcost types and item cat.:-In this IMG activity, you define the shipment cost types and item categories that contain all important control features for the shipment cost document, such as:
Number range
Status requirements for the shipment documents
Parameters for shipment costing
Parameters for shipment settlement
5.shipcost relevance and default for shipcost types:-In this IMG activity you assign the shipment cost types to the shipment types and set an indicator to show whether the cost type is relevant to shipment costing. You do this for every cost type in every shipment type. .
Example
For the 'individual shipment' shipment type, you set the indicator for the cost types shipment header and leg, but not for the cost types border crossing or load transfer point. You also assign a shipment cost type to the shipment type. When you create a shipment cost document, this shipment cost type is determined automatically.
6. Settlement:-
Certain control elements must be maintained for calculating shipment costs with the transportation service agent and for forwarding of shipment costs to FI and CO.
you can maintain these control elements and carry out the corresponding assignments.
-- Assign purchasing data
--maintain acc. assignment cat.
--automatic G/L acc. determination
--automatic determination of CO assignments
--invoices and credit memos
A2. Shipment cost:
The process of calculating the shipment costs for a shipment.
Shipment costs:
The total costs involved in the shipment of a product. Not just pure freight costs, but also cleaning costs, insurance, and other costs as well

Freight cost estimate - Shipment
Hi I m new in shipment, please help me.
When I make the simulation (Freight cost estimate) in transaction VT02N the Net Value that shows is different to the real net value when the shipment is ended.
This happen because in the u201CItem conditionsu201D of the Conditions for shipment Costs Items, the Condition Base Value is 0. Where can I change this value so every simulation consider it?
Thanks!!hey ,
i cant post my e-mail here but you can cut & paste in this page ( or link to FTP ) .
any how ,
if you want to change the value of the scale you can do it in tk12 and from there go to the scale that
you define in VS02 .
look in sap help ( or google ) for the file SDBFPR.pdf ( condition types )

Shipment Cost - Pricing Procedure
Hi,
We have several ways to calculate our shipment cost:
1> Per route (fixed rate) regardless of quantity
2> Per route -> fixed rate per quantity
3> Per route -> fixed rate per quantity with discount per material
4> Per leg -> shipment doc may have two legs (passing by a transfer point) point A to point B, fixed rate (#1), while point B to point C, quantity rate (either #2 or #3)
Can you let me know how to set-up in the system? 4 condition types? Should I have 4 pricing procedure for each? Should I have 4 shipment cost document? 4 Shipment types?
How to set-up in the system such that from the shipment document, I can display comparisons (if #1 or #2) option is cheaper ... At the moment, it does not prompt me comparisons.. when i click the freight cost estimate button, it gives me the value directly...
Thanks,Hi,
in shipment maintain 2 stages e.g.
Departure point A to point B
Point B to Destination Point C
Also in shipment cost type>>>Idefine team categories(0001)>>>Maintain distribution as "A"(shipment cost item)
Now create Shipment cost document by VI01, Here you will find 2 iteams( 1 is A to B and 2 is B to C),now for first you can maintain fixed price and for second you can mainatian on base of quantity.
Make appropriate calculation base in condition types.
If any problem revert back.

CO error in Shipment cost calculation - VI01
Hi all,
We have an issue while creating an shipment cost document for the shipments created with respect to Project/Networks.
Scenario: Our client has various project site where construction is going on and material is being sent to these site. A outbound delivery (delivery type LP) is created with respect to Project/Networks and send it out via third party carriers. A shipment document is created for these deliveries in order to fetch the shipment cost.
I am using account assignment category as "P = Project" in Item category assigned to Shipment Cost Type I am using and Account Modifier has been taken as VBR. My G/L account is deteremined fine but Cost Object (WBS element) beside G/L is coming blank in account assignement field in Shipment cost document.
Please suggest what I am missing here in configuration from Transportation or Financial side.
Thanks,>

I am a bit confused with this, VT01N is first, then you do VI01.
in VI01 you create a shipment cost document to a shipment which must exist.
when you execute VT01N, then you create a new shipment. -
Hi,
in transaction VT02N if i click on "Freight Costs estimate" button a pop-up window appeara displaying Net value of Shipment cost information (<b>RV54_FRINF_RES-RESULT</b>).
My question is:
from Shipment number (<b>VTTK-TKNUM</b>) is it possible to get RV54_FRINF_RES-RESULT?
if so How?
Best regardsHello Gurus,
I have a request to build a report that shows the freight cost by supplier given an Shipping point at point of departure and destination country/region.
Basically what I want is to red the supplier freight costs table and build a list of prices for a given route. This would help to justify the choice of suppliers given their costs by route.
For what I've seen there are some function modules that simultate the transport/freight costs, but all of them assume that a transport and a number actually exists, This is the way that standard transactions behave when creating a new transport.
So far I've tried to use FM:
SD_SCD_SIMULATE_FREIGHT_COSTS
BAPI_SHIPMENT_COST_ESTIMATE
I've also activated and analised trace on transaction tk12 till the point I get the cot values for a given supplier (the matrix with region origin/destination) and tried to find a way elaborate a query to relate the tables involved, but had no luck.
I do know that the suppliers are in table A925 that relates them to a condition. What I haven't been able to do is to relate that condition to the orgin/destination region codes and furthermore to the bi-dimensional table of prices VFSCAR2 that actually has the prices for each supplier. When I double click the cell of the price the popup opens with the exact infomation I want to find, so how can I get to that?
Please help.
Thanks in advance. -
Control of Incoterms in creation of Shipment Costs
Dear All,
We calculate shipment costs (Through Transportation module in SD-Freight payment-Outwards) on calculation base A (Delivery) or B
(Delivery item) and do not want to calculate deliveries that have certain
Incoterms (for example, TOP-To Pay, where Customer makes payment to Transporter).
By default, the system always creates a subitem in the shipment cost
document for the corresponding calculation base for every delivery item or for every delivery involved.
We want to have Control over certain Incoterms where we don't pay to the customers. We want to restrict the users not to calculate Shipment Costs in TOP-To pay cases. Kindly help if any Userexits available for this scenario to handle.
Regards
SubratHi,
I think we have a similar requirement. For FCA transports is the transport cost zero. We have created a seperate condition in the cost procedure as a condition class A ( discount or surcharge ) in T_06. This has an access sequence assigned which uses a 9xx condition table (T_03) with fields Service agent f.stage ( TDLNR ) and
Incoterms ( INCO1 ). This enables us to maintain condition records in TK12. So FCA is maintained with 100 % deduction and thus no costs. -

Cost component not splitting at the time of Rune the tine of Cost Estimate
http//
Hi,
We are in developing phase for Product costing for coal mine project ,
we have raise coal material with Non component BOM , and Routing is only one activity with 400- Raised Coal Qty-MT ,
We upload the plan with Production cost center -activity type and cost element ( as per cost component -we have 10 cost component as per below )
RM - Blasting
Production Overhead
Power - Main
Stores,Spare,Consum
Repairs & Maint
Lease & Hire Char-PM
Power - Auxiliary
Depreciation
Over Burden
Development
we done the plan for Amount and Qty by KP06,KP26 and update plan price but system not calculate the cost component splitting in cost estimate as per planning while only one item showing for all cost to Production Overhead cost component
Production Overhead cost component which assign the secondary cost element which is assign to activity type 400
can any one help me to how we can resolve this issue
Please find attached documentHi,
Here I am providing the necessity and importance of splitting structure, will share the configuration steps once you go through the following and get the comfort level.
Expense Analysis and Splitting in Manufacturing Cost Centers
Introduction In SAP Cost center work as a cost responsibility center, where all the expenses and cost are stored and analyzed for the purpose of management decision making.
The cost could be fixed or variable in nature. The difference between variable and fixed costs can be made in various ways in product costing in CO module.
Fixed costs represent the static costs incurred by the organization, which doesn’t change on the basis on manufacturing activities, which remain constant irrespective of production activities like rent for the premises, salaries of office staff etc.
On the other hand, variable cost varies based on the level of production activities; if production activities increase then variable cost also increased like electricity consumes raw material charges etc.
However all the variable cost doesn’t vary in direct proportion by quantity of goods produced.
In this document will try to define; how the Expenses analysis and splitting of cost done in manufacturing cost centers.
From controlling prospective, fixed cost remain constant regardless of operating activities, but if these factor changes, variable cost will fluctuate.
Basically raw material costs represent variable cost, but in this document main focused will be given to distinguish fixed and variable activity cost.
The segregation between fixed and variable cost is optional and is derived from the configuration and master data configured in cost center accounting and overhead accounting.
Activity Price:
There are different methods that could be used in cost center accounting to determine the activity price. The simple way is the manually enter “Fixed” and “Variable” Activity cost (KP26).
However there are other methods used in Cost center Planning and Budgeting that automatically calculate the fixed and variable activity price.
Here the focused will be given on Planning and Budgeting activity and automatic calculation of plan activity rate in cost center.
This method aggregate planned costs by cost element and capacity by plan unit to calculate the activity price.
Activity independent costs are segregated among different activities based on Splitting Structure, while activity dependent cost directly used for the purpose of variable activity rate calculation.
Fixed Activity Cost:
In product costing all those cost, which doesn’t vary based on the activities in manufacturing cost will represent fixed cost.
In a manufacturing cost centers there may be two or more activities performed.
To calculate the activities rate, the fixed costs are distributed to various activities on the basis of Splitting Structure defined for cost center.
Variable Activity Cost:
Variable activity cost, which directly depend upon the activity type and fluctuate based on increase or decrease in manufacturing activities. In SAP variable activity cost are directly linked to the respective activity.
Activity Prices: Fixed and Variable Split
In Cost Center Accounting dividing the cost between Fixed and Variable requires appropriate split to be made in the cost entered for the activity. The process is described below:
i. Variable cost would be planned at activity level and expenses should be maintained at cost element in the manufacturing cost center by assigning activity and cost element combination.
In other word, the expenses should be planned on Activity type at the time of primary cost planning (KP06).
Then the variable activity rates are calculated on Total cost planned at Activity divided by Total number of activity planned at that cost center (i.e. capacity in KP26)
ii. Fixed cost would be planned at independent of activity type. These costs are maintained in KP06 at cost element level on manufacturing cost center.
Then the fixed costs are distributed on various activity types on the basis of Splitting structure defined at OKEW.
In Splitting Structure we define the rules, how the fixed cost will be distributed to Activities. For the purpose of this document, considering split of fixed cost on the basis of Capacity maintained in KP26.

Report for Material Cost Estimate
Hi Everyone,
Is there any way that I could download a report from the SAP showing all the material cost estimates? Hope someone could help me. When I try using CK11n, there is no tab there for report downloads and it only shows one material.
Thank you in advance
JahzielDear Jahziel,
In standard SAP the following reports are available:
T Code : CK84_99 : COST_ELEMENT - Cost Elements
CK80_99 - Cost Components
CK84_99 - Itemization
These reports will provide you the information at individual material level.

Sales Order Cost Estimates -- Versions?
In our MTS plant we are creating cost estimates each month with different version numbers so they can easily be compared to review cost changes.
This concept in our MTO plant is (of course) a problem.
We would like to create a dummy sales order and on each line list a KMAT and build an "average" configuration. We use variant config, so the sales order bom is built automatically. It also costs automatically. We would like to save this cost estimate and compare it with a cost estimate of the same configuration next month. I do not have an option for version CK51n, nor do I see a Costing Date in KEKO table. Either of these items for MTS would create a second cost estimat and allow comparison.
Is there a way to compare Sale Order Cost Estimates across periods?
Any other suggestions as to how to obtain the required data??
Thank you for all suggestions!!Any one think of a solution?

Sales Order cost estimate with variant config
Hi
I'm hoping for some advice on costing on a variant material.
I have created a sales order for a variant material and ran a cost estimate to get costs for the sales order. Should this populate a cost condition within the sales order pricing? How can the margin be seen in the sales order?
Thanks for your help.
Ashley ShannonHello Ashley
Yes, if you have done your settings correctly, especially Requirements class set up (see the documentation link), then the cost estimate will flow to a condition type in Pricing, usually EK01/EK02 conditions. These conditions are used to calculate sales prices (PR00) in cost-plus (mark-up) scenarios.

However Profit margin as calculated in a sales order comes from VPRS condition (which is based in Material Master) and is the difference of net value and VPRS condition value in normal circumstance.
Hope other more knowledgeable experts will weigh in. -

hi,
While saving the sales order cost estimate its getting the GL account from GBB-ZG0.
as we assigned Balance sheet account its asking the cost element.
can you please explain what is link to get the gl from GBB-ZGO, can we change this to pick from GBB-VBR.
Thanks,
SudhaHi,
Are you are working with unvaluated special stock ? In this case, the system is looking for a consumption account via the account assignment category. For example if you are using requirement class ZPJ which uses account assignment category Q. In account assignment Q, you entered account modification VBR. Therefore, the system is looking for an account via the keys GBB / VBR.
regards
Waman
