Shipping Execution vs WMS at upgrade time

Hi,
We are in process of upgrading from version 10.7 to 11.5.10. One big issue is whether we should tackle WMS implementation at our warehouse as part of the upgrade or stick with Shipping Execution and follow on with WMS as a separate project if appropriate. We had created our own "Distribution Module" in 10.7 that basically is a similar concept to Shipping Execution (with probably a little WMS). Anyway is there a white paper or any other information that anyone could provide to help make this decision?

Prob. with doc registered under application other than SHIPPING EXECUTION

Hi,
We have a custom Pick Pack Slip report which we have registered under Custom Application.
While Creating Document Set, if the document is registered under Custom Applicaiton, the document is not getting generated. (Concurrent program itself is not getting executed for this document) but if the document is registered under SHIPPING EXECUTION applicaiton, its getting executed.
I have created one Document Set and while doing PICK RELEASE, I am using this document set. Initially I have attached only one document which belongs to custom application and ran pick release but it didnt submit any document. Then I added one more document which belogns to Shipping execution and submitted pick release one more time. This time it has executed program for the one belongs to shipping execution but not the custom one.
If I register the same custom report to Shipping Execution, then its working fine !!! But I dont think this is the right approach to register all custom reprots to Oracle Shipping application.
Please suggest !!!

Custom Workflow for Shipping Execution

Hi All,
We have a requirement to cater approval on issuance i.e. at the time of shipping execution. For this purpose we have used Oracle Workflow Builder to cater the requirement. The workflow is working fine for approval but not for rejection. If we approve the shipping execution, the transaction is working fine but if we rejects it, the shipping transaction got stuck with exception and if we resolve the exception manually, we are unable to re send it for approval or even shipping.
I will be grateful if anyone can help me out and advise me on how to setup of workflow for rejection.

It is possible that the workflow has already been registered in db before you modified workflowActivities.xml.Did you try cleaning up workflow tables and restart the server??
epub_workflow_info, epub_coll_workflow, epub_ind_wf,epub_wf_server_id tables
Make sure there is only one entry for each workflow in epub_workflow_info. If there are multiple entries, then it may be coming from 2 different places and you need to disable one of them. Whenever you create custom work flow, copy the existing workflow and modify it and give it a different name. If you are importing programmatically, you really dont need to configure it in taskConfiguraiton.xml ( as it corresponds to settings related to which item-descriptors, tabs, security in BCC gui).

Firmware upgrade times out (BEFW11S4 v4)

Hi, my firmware upgrade times out everytime and i've read that the only way to get past this is by flash-upgrading the router through this web address ftp.linksys.com/pub/network but the link doesn't work for me and says '550 failed to change directory'. Is there another link i can try or another solution?

After downloading the Firmware rename the file(like - befw11s4)...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned. By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading. A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Report execution start and end date/time

Hi All,
How can one find execution start and end date/times for all reports? Basically I am looking to see what reports were run on a day, when and how long it took for each to complete.

The "eul5_batch_reports" holds the data about the scheduled report and if you don't have any so you will not have any data.
Take a look at "EUL5_QPP_STATS"
for example:

Execution of workbook taking more time?

Hi experts,
I created a workbook on multiprovider , where i inserted around 18 querys in that workbook.
The execution time taking for that query taking around 8 to 10 mts, can anybody tell me any performing technques to exceute the workbook fastly.

Compare execution time of queries when executed separately. One or two queries might be causing long time . This queries will make the execution of workbook for longer time. For those queries fill the cache with all values of variables and check the workbook execution time.

Finally Upgrade Time- Help Me Decide..

I have been waiting patiently for my Upgrade Notice. Yeah, finally time. I currently have a LG env3. This will be my first droid phone, so wanting some feedback on which one to chose... just some background I have a Galaxy Tab..
Sales Reps are pushing the 4G, Thunderbolt and Droid Charge, honestly, my town probably won't even get this ability until later this year and 3G is fine with me... I don't need to have access to the internet during the day, since I am at work for 8 hours and cellphones must be turned off.
I see that there are many to chose, Costco is having a special on Fascinate right now, bundle package with desk dock, car dock and battery charger.. It looks alot like HTC Incredible... but I can't find any smoking deals on that right now.
What other phones are comparable or should I consider ? I don't know much about Motorolas...
I see battery life has been an issue for some phones, has that been resolved? That will matter to me, as I want a phone there and ready when I need it.
For a first time droid user, savvy enough but still can learn new tricks, which one would you recommend... You have, you know the pros and cons... guide me in my decision...

mdram4x4 is right ... trying them out in a store will help you decide. I went into a Verizon store last week to look at the iPhone, and ended up narrowing it down to the Thunderbolt and the Incredible 2. Ha ha.
I chose the Inc 2 because my area won't have LTE for a while, I wanted global capabilities and the 4-inch screen is large enough for me. I'm very happy with my decision. The battery life is really good and it's plenty fast on 3G.

If I buy a Refurbished Mac Book Pro how long does it geneally take to ship to store in NYC?

There is no "standard." When you go through the purchasing process, Apple will advise of projected shipping and arrival at the store time. In my limited experience, Apple usually beats the estimates.

Basically you have few setups that can be done in shipping execution or in Order management module.
1. Shipping Parameters (Defined for Each Org) (Shipping --> Setup --> Shipping Parameters) or this can be defined in Inventory module as well.
2. Picking --> PickSlip Grouping Rules ( Shipping --> Setup --> Picking --> PickSlip Grouping Rules )
3. Define Release Sqeuence Rules ( Shipping --> Setup --> Picking --> Release Sqeuence Rules )
4. Define Release Rules form ( Shipping --> Setup --> Picking --> Release Rules form )
5.Document Categories (Shipping --> Setup --> Documents--> Document Categories (Define Bill of Lading, Packing Slip report)
6. Document Sets (Shipping --> Setup --> Documents--> Document Sets )
where reports are generated at Ship Confirm & Releasing Orders.
Reports such as
1. Commercial Invoice
2. Bill of lading
3. Packing slip Report
4. Vechile Load
5.Mailing label
The above mentioned are reports for Ship Confirm. maynot be every Org might not be using all five.
6. Grants and Role Definitions (Shipping --> Setup --> Grants and Role Definitions --> Grants)
This is very important for shipping grants. if the user is not assigned. In shipping transaction form the buttons willl be greyed out.

InfoPath Forms Services Form Upgrade timer job continuously failing

Hello all,
We've recently uploaded several InfoPath form templates to our production SharePoint 2010 environment (6 server farm). One of the forms
was still stuck in 'upgrading' (even after it said successful after the upload). So we deleted that form and re -uploaded it successfully.
Since then we've been seeing the following timer job failures every minute. The forms all work but the timer job failures still keep
coming.

We have done the following:
Reset timer service on all servers (same job just moves to a different server failing)
removed the suspect InfoPath form and re uploaded (no change)
All servers in the farm rebooted (no change)
Questions:
Can we just get rid of the failing InfoPath Forms Services Form Upgrade?
Will a new one get created the next time we upgrade a form?

Hi Jim,
When you upload an administrator-approved InfoPath form template to SharePoint, SharePoint automatically creates a Solution Package for it as well as a Timer Job. When a solution package is deployed in a farm, it will be restored in 14 hives.
Timer jobs are scheduled for execution, but sometimes it can take a long while before a SharePoint timer job gets executed. The timer job created by SharePoint would have a Title similar to Windows SharePoint Services Solution Deployment for “form-[your_uploaded_form_template_name].wsp”.
The Schedule Type for this timer job would be One-time.
If you want to hurry the execution of administrative timer jobs along, you can use the following stsadm command:
stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs
