Shipping legacy MSDS uploaded which are in pdf format

Hi Friends,
Do not get mislead by Questiom Here is the requirement.
In our project, We have imported legacy MSDS in PDF format. For this we created a program to upload legacy MSDS in PDF format.
The generation variants are of type "MSDS" and not "IBD_MSDS" type.
So all imported PDF MSDS are visible in CG54 as released MSDS. So here is the requirement.
Immediately after go-live there will be no MSDS generated in SAP EHS system by WWI server.
So if I want to ship the MSDS which is stored in PDF format, how to achive this.
Standard scenarion of shippping is working. but this issue we need to resolve. Kindly help if I need to do any configuration or Developement.
Note:- I am getting error as "File not found".

Congratulation. One process is up and running. Now you need to "establish simply" a "similar" customizing in context of "IBD_MSDS". This is not easy. I know. BUt it is possible. But first, as I have tried to explain, you need to have a super perfect very good blueprint. (considering your current and future situation in which you may be would like to dispatch normal WWI reports)
It is nearly not possible to explain to you the "millions" of pitfalls in your situation (but you can prepare such a set up as your situation is quite common, normal and "standard"; especsially if you have the need to migrate data (but other options exists as well to do the job)). In most cases (according to my experience in your situation) you will need at least a project running for 6 months to establish a robust process to support both document types in the "same" disptach process.
PDF format is a quite normal format for such "business scenarios" you have. The issues is youre "wording":
"After go-live for some days there would not be generation of MSDS in CG54 as new versions of MSDS would not be generated in CG54." => this leads to the "interpretation" that at later point in time normal WWI reports might be used and this is the "trick" (if you really have a very very good picture about how SAP has designed the SDS dispatch process). => coming to the main point: you will use a lot of SAP EHS standard customizing but you must develop of lots of customer specific function moduls to get a solution

I bought $350 worth of ebooks from ebooks.com so I could read them on my bebook (mybebook.com) and the files don't open on my bebook, so I tried to open them on my computer so I could convert them to another format, but my computer can't open the files. This is what happens:
1) A window comes up that says: This document can't be opened because it's ownership hasn't been established on this computer. But I bought the books on this computer! There are two choices that I can click: 1) I own it and copied it to this computer or restored it from a backup and 2) Someone else gave it to me and I would like to own it. I click number one and then click on a button that says "establish ownership".
2) Then another window comes up that says: You will now be taken to the adobe DRM activator website where you will get instructions on how to reactivate your Acrobat or Adobe reader to allow for sharing and restoring of documents. You must be connected to the internet for this. If not, cancel and try again later.
3) So I click OK and am taken to an Adobe page that says:

You have tried to open an Digital Edition that was downloaded to another computer. You can open such a document on two computers only when you have activated Adobe Reader or Acrobat on both computers using the same Microsoft .NET Passport or Adobe ID.

Solution: Return to the retailer, library, or other location where you acquired the document and obtain permission to open it on this computer.
I wrote ebooks.com and told them what was going on also, but I don't know if they will be able to help me because I downloaded the books to this computer.

I have tried with Adobe myself but to no avail. They are inconsiderate, and just downright rude and will not support the issues. They claim it's because it's a free product.
I am forced to keep an old computer for all of the books that I brought only because they will not open anywhere else. I have seen alot of crap on the internet about how to conver them but none seem to be easy or successful. I have alot of ebooks that just will not open anywhere else but that one pc. I have tried just about everything. I wish there was an easy hack to this issue. I hate adobe. I can't wait until there is some kind of law suit against them. I will definately take part in every way I can. Sorry for not having any better info on this.

So does anyone have a solution yet? Can these files be converted to regular pdf files that don't require Digital Editions? It's a nice interface but the program doesn't work correctly.
Adobe's Digital Editions now prevents me from reading 4 out of 7 of my e-books. Moreover, I can't believe there's no one at Adobe that can fix this problem. Just as surprising is how little they seem to care.
I would appreciate some help if anyone has an answer. This is really disheartening.

I have an deskjet f4180 that won't print documents unless they are in pdf format.

I am using windows xp service pack 3. There has been no added programs or hardware. The printer will copy with no problem. I'm not getting any error messages, but the print jobs will sit in the que for a while sometimes. I have run the troubleshooting program--which finds no problems and have reinstalled the drivers with no change in the printers actions. It will print the test page with no problem. So this is follow up from my debarkle with the EDD. I found out my problem with copying files from Mac to EDD and vice versa was a result of a not so good EDD ( i had an apollo hard drive from imation) that was not very compatible with macs. So i did my research and found out that the best hard drives were Western Digital and Seagate. I bought the newest western digital EDD 1TB and formated it to FAT32 and guess what...no problems so far. The only problem is that FAT32 format doesn't copy files larger than about 4 gigs so i couldnt copy a movie from my brothers computer onto my EDD that was 1080p. You could probably resolve that by partitioning a small part of your hard drive in ExFAT? but yeah, hopefully that helped guys.

When exporting Captivate 5 project as pdf, cannot open linked files (which are also pdfs)

I am a Captivate novice, using version 5 on Mac. I am thrilled that my project can be published as a pdf. Everything works great except the interactive buttons, which are supposed to open various small pdfs. I placed the linked documents in the same folder with captivate project. I used just the filename of the document as the link. I can open the links with no problem when I open the SWF from firefox, but when I try to open them from my exported PDF (with Acrobat 9 pro), no luck. This is really bumming me out, because being able to hand the customer an interactive PDF is cool. I could just duplicate the same effect in Acrobat Pro Extended, but I find the Captivate workspace much faster and easier than creating interactivity with Acrobat. Plus, it is so cool to add the audio and animated effects in Captivate. Not so easy in Acrobat. Help??!?! Thank you.

Thanks for the update! No pressure, but I'm using the trial version while I decide if Captivate will be the solution I need to create these multimedia pdfs. Is there any sort of timeframe on the resolution of the issue I posted? Should I expect to wait until Captivate 6, or should I expect an update to 5 to solve the problem? Just need to know how to move forward. I apologize in advance if I am out of line for asking timeframe questions. I'm new to support forums. I never posted before because I was always able to get answers by researching discussions. Your reply is so helpful to me because I can barely afford the $800 for Cap 5. If it can't do what I need it to do, I will save the money and stick with creating interactivity in PDFs through Acrobat's brute force (but reliable) methods...but Captivate is SO COOL...oh woe.

Need to upload a bill in pdf format to be viewed in biller direct screen

Well requirement is to view a bill(invoice) from the given format to pdf format on biller direct screen(UCES SCREEN), a web portal.
Now ,first i have to change the invoice from its current format to pdf ,and
Secondly,I have to send it to the web portal...so which FM makes a pdf file go to a remote server
Thirdly,I need a suggestion too..ie. whether the bill should be called from the database only?If so how to save the bill in pdf format in database server.

But what about calling the pdf from the web portal or uploading the pdf view in web portal?
Means that when I click on pdf icon on that portal........it calls a bill in pdf format from SAP r/3.

No service for what you describe.
Rather you would purchase, install and use Acrobat.
However, PDF forms can be processed (filled in) with Adobe Reader XI.
(Note - PDF FORMS -- those made with Acrobat which are "acroforms" or those made with Adobe LiveCycle Designer - which make up a lot of the government inventory of forms (these are "xfa" forms - xml wrapped in PDF - sort of a "pig in a blanket").
On any apple platform you have to keep the apple default PDF viewer (preview) away of all PDFs always. This application is "PDF hostile" for PDF forms.

Comapare internal tables which are in tree format

This data is in one internal table, here there are 3 main materials (1,8,6) which are in-turn made of other materials.
material at level 1 is made of materials at level 2
and in-turn materials at level2 are made up of materials at level3 .
Now same material can exist at different levels ...
What would be the efficient way to compare two such internal tables and comparisons are done wrt quantity but level and hierarchy at which material exits matters and
comparison shuld be done at each level .
if both materials are in same hierarchy in both tables but diff in quantity then they are unequal .
if both materials are in same hierarchy in both tables and equal in quantity then they are equal .
if that material exist in one but doesnot exist in other table in similar hierarchy then its rendered as
not found.

Thanks for the reply but the number of levels is not always 3(it completely depends on data) .I came up with one solution --what I have done is , created one more column <b>HPATH</b> in the internal table and kept hierarchy relationship ..i.e

The number of levels doesnot matter in this solution...

I have a Form in PDF format I have done some mistakes when I fill-up it.
Now the new forms are not available on Net & also in Shops.
So can I Correct the Form where I Did Mistakes?

If you still have the form and did not flatten it, then you should be able to make changes. Easiest test is to copy the form and try it on the copy. If it works you have your answer.

Uploading files only in PDF format

Hi Friends,
I have requirment in my application that i need to upload file in the content Managment
The File should be of type PDF only.
The issue is like this when i get a dialog box for selecting the file,
I should be able to select files only with the extension of PDF.
if some other file is being selected i should get popup specifying illegal format of file.
Any replies will be thanked in advance.

The tag for file upload [ <thtmlb:fileUpload> ] has an attribute onUpload to which you can assign a event name. This event will be triggered when a file is uploaded. You can code you validation for the required mime type within this event.
Please refer the view FileUploadTag in the component CRM_THTMLB_COMP for sample code.

So, it_xml has the binary format of XML data.
Now the requirement is that I need to get rid of some XML tags in the final internal table XML data. Because by default, at the start of the the table row the <item> and </item> tags are inserted. This is automatically done in the Function module
SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML.
I want to find out the binary string of <item> and </item> and replace them by null binary string. I know how to replace the character strings but not for binary strings in 4.6 C.
It is little bit urget. I would appreciate the quicker answer.

How does one fix/edit a scanned book which is in pdf format so that it may be read aloud...

...by the computer?
When I try to utilize the Read Out Loud feature in Adobe Reader, it says that the page is blank because it sees it as an image, not text.
Is Adobe Acrobat capable of fixing this? Could someone please teach me how? If not, could someone direct me as to how I might be able to go about learning how to accomplish this?
Also, has anyone developed a program that will read text from the screen, regardless of it being an image?

Yes, I had saved a separate file of it and was able to search/find a word on a page, but Read Out Loud still said "blank".
I doubt it's the quality of the scan, although, I could see that issue coming up. I read at "getsatisfaction" that it might be the pdf version, mine being 1.5, apparently should be converted to 1.7. I just downloaded the pdf version converter and will get back later.

I guess the converter I found wasn't free. Anybody know of a way to convert pdf versions? Is Acrobat capable of this feat?
