Shipping of iPhone 5 and accessories

I ordered my iPhone 5 online, along with Applecare and the adapter with the old iPhone/ipod female charging port and the new iPhone charging port. Yesterday I received my iPhone, but there was no adapter or Applecare included with what was shipped to me. I would like to know when I will recieve these accessories.

Applecare is usually associated with your phone serial number already. Just check in https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do using your serial number and you will be able to confirm if your phone has Applecare and when does it expire. You may receive some paperwork/agreement/receipt by mail too, but it usually arrives separately.
Regarding the adapter, they are on backorder (I am waiting for mine too) so you may not get it until early November.

I wanted to buy a av cable so I could watch my tv shows through my tv and I don't have a apple store close by and the at&t stores don't have them yet, but best buy has them of course for the ipod so I want to know will that work with the iphone? I've seen that using a ipod charging isn't a good idea so just wondering if anyone has a clue on that. Also I have a samsung hdtv with a wiselink which is a way to connect different devices via usb cable but it won't work with the phone shouldn't it work or you just have to get the cables?

I believe that these are the only cables authorized by Apple at this point to be used with the iPhone. Any other cables and you're running the risk of damaging your iPhone.

IPhone and video out

I have tried to pass video from my iPhone as well as my touch to my TV through my receiver without any success. I know that on the regular iPod that you have to switch to video out, however, I cannot find this option on my iPhone. I am using the Apple accessories. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When did you get the cables for it. Not all older cables for TV out work for iPhone/iPod Touch. I bought set after getting iPhone and verified they said would work with iPhone. Works good for me.
Only settings are in Settings => iPod.
But default settings should be good.

Ok, so ever since I purchased my Black 60GB iPod I started reading about how easily it scratched and realized I needed to get a case for it immediately. I was also surprised to discover that my old iTrip and other top docking accessories no longer worked with the 5G iPods. So I began to research my options for cases and accessories, and here's what I came across:

Since most of these cases haven't been released yet, I decided to fashion my own case for the time being. This option will probably only work for those of you who purchased the 60 GB iPods, because the 30GB 5G's are significantly thinner than their 20GB and 30GB 3G and 4G counterparts. But anyway, I purchased a cheap silicone case for a 20GB iPod from Best Buy (you can probably find one anywhere that sells iPod accessories for around $10-$15) and a pack of PDA screen protectors. Since the height and width of the new iPods are exactly the same (the thickness or depth of the new 60GB is close enough to the 20GB and 30GB 4G's) and the click wheel and dock connector seem to be in the same place, it was only the screen size that needed to be adjusted. So I cut the case to make the entire screen visible, used a small amount of heat with a lighter to melt the cut edges firm, and then cut a screen protector to fit. This is a crude option, but it has worked for me so far and I don't have a scratch on it yet.

As most of you know, the current incarnations of Griffin's t fit in the older case. Obviously the edges of the iTrip, perhaps the most popular FM transmitter for the iPod, are not compatible with the new 5G iPods. For some reason, Apple did away with the external power port on top of the new iPods, and therefore it is unlikely that there will be any accessories, including iTrip, iTalk, remotes, etc. that will dock on top of the iPod. Instead, most will use the dock connector port on the bottom of the iPod, which isn't all bad and actually offers some benefits. Griffin's new iTrip that will use this port can be found here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip30/techspecs.php And with a simple mini USB to standard USB cable, you can charge your iPod using a number of car chargers that use the USB cable (including Griffin's PowerJolt of course).

you cant because you couldn't actually do anything with them even if they were paired. Bluetooth on iphones and ipods is really just for accessories. Its annoying though that you cant transfer files and photos ect. but at least we have iCloud.

Has Adobe and Apple had any meaningful discussions on Flash Player not working on iPhone and iPad?

Several applications I try to use on my iPhone and iPad says, "Apple restricts use of technologies required by products like Adobe Flash Player. Until Apple eliminates their restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flas Player for the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. It would be nice if Adobe and Apple would solve their issues so we can use Adobe Flash Player.

Yeah, it's probably not a driver thing. If you haven't rebooted already, definitely do that. It might just be that the graphics hardware is in a bad state.
The last thing we shipped was December 9th, so it's not like Flash Player changed. If these symptoms just started recently, it seems unlikely that a recent change to Flash is the root-cause. It's possible that Chrome might have pushed a change since then, but I talked to the Chrome guys yesterday and they didn't mention anything about a widespread video playback problem. They have really excellent telemetry, so they usually know pretty quickly when things break.
It might be that your Chrome install is somehow damaged, and you could do a complete uninstall/reinstall of Chrome to see if the issue goes away. You can also disable hardware acceleration in Chrome itself (it's under Preferences > Advanced > System > Use hardware acceleration if available) to see if that helps.
Is the issue isolated to a specific video or video site/sites? Does it happen in either Internet Explorer or Firefox (they're both significantly different copies of Flash Player, which would be an interesting data point)?

Can I buy an unlocked UK iPhone and use it in the UAE (Dubai) without further changes?

Just moved to Dubai from States. Unlocked my AT&T iPhone once here to get it to work locally. But apparently to make this workable, I need to go back to an old iOS version and not upgrade.
I'd love an iPhone 4S, and am travelling soon back to the UK. Does anyone know if I can buy an unlocked (SIM-free) phone in the UK and bring it over here, buy a local SIM card, and away I go?

If the iPhone you buy is truly factory unlocked (available only from Apple Stores in the UK), then it should work with any carrier that has a compatible service.
Note that you would not be able to get service for a UK-sold iPhone in the UAE, should service be necessary. You'd have to take or ship the iPhone to someone the UK or in another EU country to take or send in for service. Just FYI.

Jabber for iPhone and iPad cannot receive calls

We currently have Call Manager 9.1.1 and Presence 9.1.1.
I am starting to use the Jabber Client for iPhone and iPad, but am having trouble receiving calls dialed to a particular extension.
If I can go settings for the iPhone Jabber client as an example, I am succesffuly connected to all accounts: IM, Phone Services, Voicemail, and WebEx.
When I go to the keypad, I can succesffuly dial internal extensions and make outbound calls to any numbers and they come accross as using my extension.
When calling the extension, my desk phone rings, but not the Jabber client.
Not sure what could be causing this issue to occur for Jabber not receiving the calls.

Should still work. But would be good to check indial into jabber with the phone unplugged, just for testing purposes.
also, you have checked the partition and configuration on the TAB device is the same as on the deskphone?
Can you attach call manager traces when making a test call and attach to the case. Let us know the extension and device names you have used in the test, and a timestamp of the test.

You can migrate a copy of the data to a new account, then delete the other person's data from each account. To do this, on the phone that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that you want to keep on the phone, save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll. If you have any synced notes that you want to keep on the phone, email these to yourself so you can create new notes in the new account.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud. The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.) When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom). Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new account. You will create a new icloud email address with you turn Mail to On.
Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting your wife's data from your account, and vice versa).

Okay. We have three Ipads in our house with only one Itunes account. When I go into imessaging and facetime on each of the devices, it wants to start switching my wife's cell phone and then the three emails associated with each Ipad to the contact information for all of the Ipads. As of this morning, only the imessaging and facetime are turned on my wife's iphone and ipad. My kids imessaging and facetime is turned off. Do you really have to have an itunes account for each device to make then work??? Any help would be very much appreciated.

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

On the iPad open Settings/iCloud and delete the account using the button at the bottom. Once deleted log in using the other account. For iTunes Stores use Settings/iTunes & Apps Stores, tapp on the Apple ID at the top then sign out. Once done sign in using the other account. Once you are happy with the changes plug your iPad into your computer to update the backup.
